Friday, 6/20/2025 - Went to eat at Taiko Sushi because my little one wanted to try it. Address is 6241 Fair Oaks Blvd, Ste F, Carmichael, CA 95608. When we walked in, there were several tables in there and a Sushi bar. I saw two people at the bar eating. A large table full of people enjoying their foods. Upon arrival.... Pros 1) this is one large room with another restaurant right next to it and a bar behind it. When arrived, we just sat ourselves at a table. There was no sign for us to wait to be seated. 2) server was very nice. 3) we got our water quick. Water tasted good. 4) Sushi and bento box was good. Sauces were very salty. Chicken katsu was moist and good. 5) server paid attention to the tables with customers and made sure to bring the tab as soon as they were done eating. 6) as I mentioned, it's one large room with several businesses inside there is a bathroom in the back. You have to walk past the bar to get to the bathroom. 7) lots of parking. Easy to find parking. 8) Happy Hour is M - F, 4-6pm Cons 1) it is on the pricier side, but foods are good. 2) Conclusion We liked this place. It was good. Staffs were nice. read more

Came here with a friend last week for lunch. The restaurant has a very interesting layout as it is split with another restaurant. I found the menu to be a bit pricey when it came to the rolls. I figured why not try it. It was my first time there I had ordered sashimi, gyoza, and the taiko roll. The sashimi was a nice cut and had a great flavor the size was decent as well. The gyoza was hot and fresh and came with a really delicious dipping sauce. However, when it came to the roll, I was very disappointed. All I could taste was rice. I felt that the rolls had too much rice in it, and it was very dense for being a $19 roll. It barely had any fish in it. The service was great tho and we had an awesome waiter. read more

This sushi place was located in a very nice plaza with amazing decorations. The restaurant layout was very different from what I have experienced before. It shared a space with an Italian restaurant and a bakery/cafe style outlet. My friend and I got seated very quick and got our orders taken immediately after. My friend got the Spicy California roll and I got the Atlantis roll and one order of salmon nigiri. The spicy california tasted like a basic california roll and therefore was not worth the extra $3. As for my Atlantis roll, they had an issue with the menu being inconsistent with their other locations so my roll was different from what was promised. However, the attentive server was very nice and apologetic and remade the roll for us, how it was supposed to be. Although the service was splendid, the food was lackluster. I've heard their bento boxes are delicious and worth it, but I would go somewhere else for sushi. read more

Taiko Sushi is a sushi restaurant in Milagro Plaza. I've been to this sushi restaurant a couple times and both times have been alright but would have been made better with a couple tweaks. For one, when you walk in it is a little unclear where to go. Do you go to the register, just sit down or wander till you find an employee? I think it would help if they had podium or a sign to tell costumers where to go to be seated. The food: we ordered a couple miso's to start which were superb! They were probably the best part of the meal. I just love a good miso! We also go the lion king roll and t&t roll. The t&t roll was very fresh with a heavy sriracha flavor and a little spice. The lion king roll was very yummy but not the best lion king roll I've had. I prefer when there is a little more sauce on the roll. Overall both rolls were good and filling. When we did get our food we had to ask for soy sauce and chopsticks and such to eat the food after waiting a while. I think its another thing that could be remedied either by stocking tables with the necessities when they seat customers or telling them where to go to get such items. They are sort of in an in-between zone where you could potentially grab some chopsticks in you were desperate enough from behind the counter but it would probably be frowned upon. The last thing was that when we were done it was also unclear where to pay and we waited a bit before they did come to collect the bill. It kind of felt a bit like we were in a social experiment where they were seeing how costumers would respond to service ambiguity haha. Called in a bunch of rolls to-go for my daughters birthday party. They said they would be ready in about 45 minutes. I arrived to pick them up about 35 minutes later and they were all packed up and ready to go. I was in and out in about 5 minutes. Got home and the order was perfect. The rolls were good and everyone was happy. This was my first time at Taiko, we are regulars at another Sushi bar in the area which was closed on this particular day. We will definitely be returning to Taiko. The restaurant looks really nice and the staff was really friendly. Nothing but positives from me. I got chef's choice sashimi. It did not taste spoiled, but it was definitely poor quality, tough, and not good-tasting. I should have sent it back, but my heart was set on sashimi and the other two restaurants in Milagro Center are excellent, so I was lulled into a false sense of security. Came in for lunch with my grandparents and mom. The location is super nice and I love the Milagros center. When we can in there were only two workers. One was the chef and the other was the cook and also being the waiter. He explained the normal waitress did not come in. Some things were a bit slow but he absolutely did his best. We have the garlic and spicy edamame which were both good. My grandfather has the sesame chicken bento box- The batter was perfect. My grandmother had the salmon bento box- the salmon was so good and perfectly cooked. Both boxes has super yummy gyoza, and drag salads. The lion king was the perfect flavor and for sure a new favorite. We also had the tnt which was good. BUT they both had a ton of rice- it totally took away from the flavor of the roll. There were 8 pieces of sashimi - buttery salmon, very fresh tuna, and some wonderful hamachi slices. The extra rolls were California and Negihama.
