In my effort to eat fish or seafood at least twice a week, I often seek out Sushi places. Silver Sake was a pleasant surprise at the quality because I am used to always seeing a Japanese person making the sushi rolls and while the roll maker was not the quality was evident ! It's a small place but comfortable and not crowded seating, the hostess was super friendly and attentive. I had the Big Boss Roll which had lobster tail, crab and spicy tuna, which was fantastic! True to their name the sake was some of the best I've ever had! Cost was not unrealistic and it was all fresh from the lobster to the Ginger ! The menu rotated and the board indicated which days they would be serving which sushi, so it's a place you won't get bored with as they are creative in their rolls behind the traditional offerings ! I love this restaurant!! My daughters Farrah and Josslyn love Abby! Get the pepper fin with avocado and fried jalapeños it's to die for!! I wish I took a picture it's so pretty. You can really tell they care about their customers and making sure everyone has a good experience. The ingredients tasted so fresh, and the quality of everything stood out right away. I've been coming to this sushi restaurant for over a decade, and it's easily one of my personal favorites. I first started visiting back in high school, occasionally walking here after school, and now it's become a regular spot for my family--we dine here at least every other month. The sushi rolls are consistently delicious and savory, with fair portions. Their appetizers are also worth mentioning: they serve the best agedashi tofu I've had at any sushi restaurant--it's perfectly crisp on the outside and silky inside. The lava bites are warm, crispy, and a satisfying treat while you wait for your sushi. The chefs are friendly and approachable. You can sit near them, watch them prepare your sushi, and even strike up a conversation. There are also TVs showing sports games, adding to the casual and welcoming vibe. The restaurant is small and cozy, which gives it a homey feel, but the service can be hit or miss. Servers have rotated frequently over the years, and they tend to be on the younger side--similar in vibe to Dutch Bros employees. Some have been exceptional but are no longer around, while others are clearly inexperienced, often hiding in the kitchen or chatting with coworkers, making it harder to get their attention. There's currently one standout server who consistently provides prompt and accurate service, but the newer staff could use improvement, as they sometimes come across as distracted extroverts who struggle to divide their attention between customers and coworkers. Be mindful of the restaurant's hours: it's closed from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and closes at 9:00 PM, so don't expect to be seated if you arrive close to closing time--you can still order takeout, though. Sad how this restaurant went down hill after new owners took over. New customers don't know the difference but the old patrons DO! Their Teriyaki Chicken literally made a patron food poison ill IN the restaurant while the other persons at their table waited over an hour for their sushi rolls. By that time the patron with chicken (already eaten) became stomach ill. Chef and owner better literally "wake up and smell the sushi" or chicken in this case before serving it. Perhaps the chicken was spoiled or undercooked. Either way I should call the food safety agency and report this. I went in after they've been closed down for a couple of months for renovations. The place looked amazing.. I asked for 1 specialty role to take home. When I got the bill, it was $32. I paid, I tipped, I was upset. I voiced my opinion to a couple of the employees that have been there for quite some time. When I got home and opened my box, I was dumbfounded.! Terrifying & false accusation - avoid with kids! Wore my Dodgers sweatshirt to dinner with my daughters. From the moment we sat down, nearby patrons openly harassed us--mocking our team, loud anti-LA slurs, and snide comments all meal. Staff saw and heard everything; no one intervened, no manager checked in. We just wanted to eat in peace. Subpar food, forgettable service. Paid cash + extra tip inside the checkbook on the table. Walking to the car with my daughters, the manager sprinted out, banged on our window, yelling we didn't pay. Kids were crying in fear. Explained cash was in the book -- she grunted and left. As we walked in tonight at 8:30pm (and they close at 9), we were greeted and asked how our day was. We felt a little bad walking so close to closing time, but everyone working made us feel absolutely welcome. We even got to partake in a Wasabi eating contest! We sat right up at the sushi bar and ordered the Nine Eleven Roll, the Zubi roll, and the Omakase Roll (chefs choice & creation), with a couple of large Sapporo's. Marc introduced himself as our food was coming out. This is definitely an upbeat sushi joint and we've been to many... and not living close at all, I definitely would take the time to drive here to have great sushi. Our sushi was absolutely Delicious! Delicious! DELICIOUS!!!! It was fresh! Had the crunch we were craving and looked like perfection. We were never rushed... in fact, they told us to take our time! I'm down for hole in the wall places because why judge a book by its cover? This wasn't quality to me. The menu- with ALL the mayo pictured on the rolls! Gag and huge red flag. Too Americanized for my taste, which then puts the quality of food into question. I ordered the chirashi bowl and could appreciate the generous portion of hamachi. The ahi and sake however, were not traditionally cut from the fish. There was nothing else in the bowl but rice and the garnish was sesame seeds? My eyes didn't feast and neither did my mouth. Not the best or even mediocre chirashi. The bento boxes were very American. I didn't care for the Katsu- the meat was tough and the breading wasn't light. I haven't been here in awhile since I have been loyal for a while to Sushi YO but while they were moving locations, I gave my other go-to place a visit for the first time in a few years and although the food was worthy of 4 stars, the bro vibe and donkey brained patrons was worthy of 1. they seemed to know the staff and all i could think was, never coming back here again. the loud talk from people arrogantly blabbing about nothing took away from the service as a lot of times the conversations seemed to be more important that checking on customers. i paid $120 to feel like an annoyance. no thanks. glad my OG place is back open so I don't have to dine here. might consider this place for door dash still but not dine in. read more

SilverSake has been our family's "go to" place for quite some time now. It's always seemed like a local "Cheers" kind of restaurant with many regular customers and extremely popular. Last night was definitely different. There were many new staff members and the regular staff not visible, new menu with many changes, no kids menu items, higher prices, and when the food came the portions were meager. For example, we frequently order the Vegetable Tempura-last night it was half of the usual size. Not sure what happened. New management? New owners? We unfortunately won't be back. Sushi! I rarely eat sushi but decided to check out this place since I was in the area. Came here around 11:15 for lunch and I was the only customer there. I sat at the bar since I came alone. This is a pretty small restaurant. I'm sure it gets super packed on weekends. They have many selections to choose from. If you don't see what you like on the menu, you can always ask the sushi chefs to create something for you. Pretty cool! My sushi chef was Rodi. I wanted something with scallops so I asked him what he recommends. He recommended the scallop garden so I ordered that with the volcano hand rolls. The scallop garden comes with 6 pieces. It's nigiri so the scallops were on top of the rice. Nice presentation but lack in flavors. A little bland for me. The volcano hand rolls were awesome! I had to order 2 of them lol. A bit of heat and crunchy. Rodi is an awesome chef. Even though his English is not perfect and has an accent, he still joked with me and made sure everything is ok. He kept me company during my whole visit. Made me feel like I'm a regular haha. Food was good but a little on the pricier side. I would definitely go back for more volcano rolls! read more

Been here 3 times now and the food has not disappointed yet. Unfortunately my 2 start review comes from the overall ambiance in the restaurant. The last two times I have come to dine in it has been so extremely loud and disruptive I can't even hear my boyfriend sitting across the table from me. When my boyfriend and I want to treat ourselves and get dinner after working a super long day we want to be able to at least hear each other when sharing a meal. The employees are nice but they like to take shots back to back with their regulars causing everyone to be drunk and loud and the whole noise level becomes horribly overstimulating for me and not enjoyable. Unfortunately I don't think we will be able to return which is a shame since the food is good and it is so close to our house. read more

Finally made our way to Silver Sake this evening, being sent from some personal recommendations with positive reviews. Maybe we were here on a off night, short staffed night (totally get it) or a not fresh fish delivery day.... all things considered, just not enjoyable. Our server was carrying the load of the entire restaurant and was doing her best. Idk, I guess they are in a sweet spot, location/proximity wise in regards to anyone in the area having another sushi/Japanese restaurant to compare to. Ordered edamame, bbq albacore (yikes)' the Tango roll (not worthy of the 22.95 price tag) especially with the same bbq albacore topping on top and the Kings roll that we thought was refreshing and more of a highlight in regards to the whole meal. To drink we split a Sapporo and a large hot sake. We were seated in a booth for two that had a direct view of the hot kitchen. And while we appreciate a bustling back of the house and an improvising flow of service in tight quarters, we unfortunately saw them using a trash can as a resting place for clean dishes (plates/glassware) in the tray strait from the dishwasher, bummer. We love trying new places, whether it be a hole in the wall, a spot in a strip mall or a stand alone restaurant. We will likely give them another try with a different approach to the menu and will def try sitting at the sushi bar and hopefully receive the delicious food so many have raved about in person and on these platforms. My friends and I (a party of 7) decided to try this place for a birthday dinner. The waiter took our order and everything was pretty normal, up until they decided to make a conscious effort to serve our group as little as possible. Customers who came in well after we placed our order received their entire table's food before any of us even got our drinks. It took a whole two hours after placing our orders for us to get our food. Many other tables were able to get their food, finish, and leave before we even got our DRINKS or meals despite having arrived earlier. The worst part is that when we DID receive our food, it seemed like it had been sitting out for a while. So after 2 hours of being ignored and being treated with passive aggression, we were served mid food. I warn as many people as I can to stay away from this establishment as possible.
