Saturday, 6/14/2025 - went to try Sushimono in Rancho Cordova, CA. Address is 5349 Sunrise Blvd, Fair Oaks, CA 95628. They have a buy 2 roll get one free deal when we went. It's located in a small shopping plaza across from Trader Joe's. Upon arrival... Pros 1) plenty of parking. We got seated right away. 2) All 6 sushi rolls tasted good. 3) our waitress was smiley and nice. 4) water tasted clean. 5) restaurant looked....squished.. I guess you could say. Not sure of the word to use. But they do have 2 clean bathroom. 6) you pay at the front once you're done eating. They didn't bring us our tab. We sat for a bit and just walked up to the cashier area to pay. Cons 1) the place looked a little worn down. But staffs were nice. 2) we were seated right in front of the little AC unit in the patio area. Dried our eyes out. Lol. So we moved to another table not so close to the fan. Conclusion This location wasn't too bad. They were very nice and patient with us. Sushi rolls were ok. Love the buy 2 rolls get one free deal. Love that there's plenty of parking and Trader Joe's was just right across from them. When we arrived, there wasn't many people there, so service was quick. read more

They have an incredible 20% off deal before 4 PM but even without these deals, they have quite affordable prices for both their sushi and bento boxes! The space is quite cozy with a main room and a side room that has a separate detached AC unit; however, note that it can become quite hot during the summers. Their menu is expansive and ordering a sushi roll can be quite daunting given the number of options. We chose the Sakura Ilsand given that it is wrapped in cucumber instead of rice and was a nice change of pace! The staff are very friendly and continuously checked up on us. The only complaint I would make (but I'm not sure if this is the restaurant's fault) is that the water had a weird detergent-like aftertaste. read more

10/10! Aaron and Irvin gave the best customer service and they always do! The spicy edamame was killer and if you really want a good kick, get the Spicy Tuna Hand Roll!! We also got the WOW, the Garlic Salmon Roll, Lemon Roll, and the Salmon Nigiri was chefs kiss! They have inside and patio seating, and the ambiance is super cozy and intimate! I ordered a couple of rolls last night through DoorDash, and overall, they were tasty with no major complaints. That said, as with any delivery, it's important to consider that the food isn't enjoyed as fresh as it would be in the restaurant. Compared to some of my favorite local sushi spots, the rolls were a bit underwhelming--but I'm giving the benefit of the doubt since I haven't had the dine-in experience yet. We wanted to try out a new sushi spot & saw this one was close to home, when we arrived turns out they have a lunch special & a check on offer as well for a complimentary starter (gyoza or edemame). We ordered the mozzarella, garlic salmon, pineapple tree and mushed off with the mango sunshine. I was hesitant about the garlic salmon being too spicy with the jalapeño but as someone with a low spicy tolerance, you can barely tell it's there. The roles use to be full size. However, the last time we ordered, they sent us two half roles which made no sense why they did that. One piece of the spicy was eaten by us, but you can see how it was still shorter even with the missing piece. Do better. read more

We walked in and ordered takeout and the host who took our order was so helpful! I'm allergic to milk and we ordered a boat, and when I asked if anything in the boat that contained milk the host knew immediately that the tempura batter does, and we decided to get the tempura for my partner and they made a note to pack it separately, and they offered to modify a roll that normally includes tempura shrimp to substitute steamed shrimp! Came here for a quick bite. While waiting for my food to come I observed the sushi guy with his phone on the top counter of the fish display. He had his AirPod on and he touches his phone with his gloves on and then back to making sushi! That is nasty! The amount of bacteria on the phone and then touching your food. I was so turn off I decided to cancel my order and walk out! I hope no one gets sick, food safety is not a priority here. I grew up coming here and the food is always good. However, their website is misleading in that they have the Buy 2 Rolls, Get 1 Free posted on their menu on the website but then when I pulled up they have a sign with fine print saying that it excludes online orders. I would not have ordered extra food had I known. I don't live nearby anymore so wouldn't know that I had to dine in or call. I won't be back on principle which is unfortunate. read more

Our waiters were so kind!! They were super accommodating and checked on us multiple times. The food was BOMBBB and it was so cheap!! Three of the worse Bento boxes we ever had. I ordered online to have them pick up 15 mins after they opened on a Saturday. We had beef terriyaki, chicken terriyaki, Salmon sashimi with Age-Dashi Tofu and Veggie Tempura. Where do I start: 1. The beef was burnt with the smoky flavor 2. Chicken was ok, not much flavor 3. Age-Dashi Tofu was chewy which was horrible. 4. Veggie tempura did not taste as it should, soggy batter and tasteless. 5. Rice was not cooked. After hearing about this place from multiple people, I have wanted to stop in and try it; I finally went with my best friend; we dined in, small on the inside, but they do have a lovely patio with heaters if it's chilly. We started with some hot tea, as we were the first ones in the restaurant, then after looking over the menu, we decided on the following roles. James Dean - 5/5 was delicious; shrimp tempura, krab, avocado, eel, scallop, masago, green onions. Love - 5/5 shrimp tempura, krab, avocado, albacore - very delicious. Spicy Monster - 5/5 Torched spicy tuna, cucumber, avocado, albacore - nice touch of spice and very flavorful. Orange Tree - 5/5 krab, shrimp tempura, cilantro, avocado, a lemon - nice touch of citrus balanced with the remaining flavors makes for a very delicious roll. Popcorn Lobster - 5/5 Krab, avocado, deep-fried lobster - delicious lovely pieces of lobster that had a perfect crunch. Sunrise - 4/5 krab, spicy scallop, sea steak, avocado, Ebi, masago, onion. Every roll was very delicious, and sometimes you get that roll that is just okay these were all fantastic and so flavorful. read more

It breaks my heart to give sushi mono a bad review, because I've been coming here for over 10 years! I'm not sure if they changed owners or got all new staff but this place has completely gone down hill. Since Covid the inside of sushi mono is not a great place to dine. It's just ugly inside, like they completely stopped trying. The tables wobble, no sushi bar, and just looks dirty. Now for the food review. I used to over look the ambience because the food was so good. Welp, that's not the case either anymore. Everything just taste off. I don't know if they got new owners or an all new staff but this place just taste completely different than it used to. It's just got good anymore. I won't go as far to say nasty but I will not be returning. Sad I have to find a new sushi spot after coming here for SO many years. read more

Went here for lunch with couple friends and was PLEASANTLY surprised! The place looked small and not the " high quality" sushi restaurant but let me tell you! this place has such Good Food, the sushi here is amazing! so fresh, fast and tasty! the sushi doesn't come in small portions but has approximately 8 pieces in a roll which is surprising since in some places they give less sushi for a higher price. The prices here are very good and appropriate for the type of sushi you order. not over priced. The service was very good, there were only 2 girls running the floor and they did great. Overall food was 10/10 and service was 9/10, interior was 6/10 ( doesn't really matter lol) but i will be coming back ! read more
