First time to try hotpot express. Didn't know what to expect. I came with 2 of my daughters and granddaughter. She like the shrimp and the Bok Choy. We got the 3 different broth. I wasn't too impressed with it. We had the spicy and beef broth and and regular. We got the beef, bok choy, cabbage, fish ball, vermicelli, noodle, dumplings. It was okay nothing special. You get the veggies, noodles and meat selection from a refrigerated vending machine. It kind of costly. It came out to more than a $100.

I love coming here. The owners are super sweet. Tonight, they gave us gifts! I loooooove the papaya salad. Their hotpot is sooooo good too!

While driving around the Sacramento area in the evening looking for a late-night dinner spot, I happened upon Hotpot Express. Hotpot Express provides an innovative take on the traditional hotpot experience in which diners can select their broths (up to 3 different broths can be chosen) and then select their hot pot contents from a self-serve refrigerator. Diners are charged by the plate with each colored plate representing a different price point. They provide a medium-sized selection of noodles, vegetables, meats, fish cakes, and dumplings for patrons to enjoy. The owner was very friendly in explaining the restaurant's concept and providing us with recommendations, which we appreciated given it was our first time at this spot. We went with the miso and authentic boat noodle broth. Both broths were very flavorful and I'm definitely glad we were able to sample both! From the fridge we went with a selection of noodles (egg and udon noodles), napa cabbage, seafood mushrooms, fish balls, and tofu. The hot pot ingredients tasted fresh and of high-quality. If you're looking for a new hot pot place to try with a unique dining experience to go along with delicious food, then I definitely recommend giving Hot Pot Express a try!

Me and my husband's came here at 5 and waited 1 hour to get our food. We order papayas salad which is not bad but the noodles was worst.

My boyfriend and I have been wanting to come here for a while and we're so glad we finally did. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. In fact, we were the only ones in the restaurant since we came around 8:30pm. The broth was incredibly delicious and totally recommend coming here! The ambiance was nice and clean and a nice dinner spot for anyone looking for something warm to eat. Only downside was that I wish there was a wider range of selection but that could've been because we came close to closing. Nonetheless, still worth coming for the flavorful broth!

The restaurant should invest in sourcing better rice in my opinion. The pad kee Mao was underwhelming and overly seasoned in sweetness. Maybe I asked for mild spice which might have threw off the balance of the flavors? I did like the tom kha (coconut soup) and that was probably the best dish out of the whole meal. This place seems to attract older clientele such as retirees. And that will be the kind of energy to expect when dining there. Those who seek a nicer ambiance and quiet setting will appreciate this place.

Nice clean restaurant, looks smalls but they have a lot of space inside. Ordered chicken satay, radna noodles n avocado chicken curry! Every dish was wonderful! Chicken satay was tasty and the dipping condiments were yummy! Beautiful presentation! Radna noodles were wide flat noods in a thick egg gravy with Chinese broccoli and chicken! Was very tasty and I asked for the spice rack to give it that extra kick! Only issue was with the avocado curry, it had PLENTY of vegetables and VERY LITTLE chicken. If I am paying a almost $20 for it, vegetables n chicken ratio should match. Staff was very nice and checked in on my friend and I Every 15 minutes. The menu is quite extensive! Sometimes this spells out trouble because I want to order the whole menu instead of a sensible amount of food. On my latest visit I ordered takeout and got the Tom Kha Soup with tofu ($13.50), Green Curry with tofu ($13.50), Kao Soy ($13.50), House Chow Fun with tofu ($13.50), Thai Tea ($4.50), and Thai Iced Coffee ($4.50). It was a lot of food, but I've learned House of Thai Rice & Noodle is best enjoyed family style where you get to enjoy a few things. The pricing is very reasonable for the portions and the flavor on the dishes is so good! I don't know what they do with their Chow Fun, but the noodles were so flavorful, soft and fluffy and didn't need any extra sauce. The Tom Kha soup is a comfort food for me and this is always a great option. I forgot to order rice with my curry, but eating it like a soup is equally satisfying. The Kao Soy was flavorful and the noodles were great with the broth and toppings. I've dined in and gotten take out and both are great experiences. The team here is so friendly and welcoming. When I order takeout, I typically order at the restaurant and wait and they always have me sit at a table and offer water or another drink while I wait. I do love dining in because the dishes are at their freshest and it makes for better photos. The dining are has plenty of seats and it comfortable. The plaza also has plenty of parking, but the spots nearest to the restaurant tend to fill up. If you're thinking about stopping here, try it, you won't be disappointed!

I've tried a lot of spots around here since I work nearby, and this has been on my list for a while because of how highly it's regarded. It was busy at lunchtime, but we were seated immediately and brought iced waters. The menu is huge with a lot of great classic options. We ordered the angel wings (personal favorite), pad see ew with fried tofu, and red curry with fried tofu and rice. Everything came out very quickly and was nicely plated. The curry had a great mix of vegetables, always love the tender eggplant the most, and it was rich, but not overly heavy, with great flavor. The pad see ew was also delicious, smokey, and had a nice mix of cabbage and broccoli, which I've never seen before but actually really liked. It was nice getting something other than just straight noodles. Angel wings are a longtime favorite and brought me right back to childhood dinners at Thai restaurants with my family. Not every spot has them, so I had to order them when I saw them on the menu. They were delicious, just how I remembered, and plated nicely with a light, flavorful sauce. The food overall was excellent and service was attentive. My only note is I should've asked for spice. I think they assumed we didn't want any heat, which is probably typical for most people, but I definitely prefer some spice in my Thai food and I appreciate when they ask. We were also two people at a six-person table since that's all that was available, so felt a little bad about that. Toward the end, they sat a single diner with us, which was a bit awkward to be honest, but luckily we were finishing up. Overall really good experience. Just remember to ask for spice if you want it, and maybe consider takeout if it's busy and don't want to share a table.

The restaurant is nice and clean and comfortable. Very simply and tastefully decorated and the staff were pleasant and let us take our time getting settled in to the menu. We all ordered their cream cheese wontons to share, and they were so good, we ordered two more orders! They were more flavorful, with the addition of garlic, than the usual ones you get at other restaurants, and we all really enjoyed them! The curries my step granddaughters ordered looked heavenly and they really liked them, and my husband ordered his favorite dish, Thai basil beef, my father and mother in law and I ordered pineapple shrimp and chicken fried rice, and my stepson ordered a curry dish. We all really enjoyed them and their servings are HUGE! We all took home leftovers, which was a plus! Be prepared for large servings! The only drawback (if you want to consider it that) to our dinner was the level of spiciness here. Fr those of us who ordered mild heat, it was way more spicy than we are used to, so, if you aren't a fan of very spicy Thai food, be aware and order it with none. My father and mother in law, who are in their mid 80's, were smart and ordered their fried rice with no spice. I've never been to a Thai restaurant (one of my favorite cuisines!) that had such spicy mil. I just thought I'd warn my fellow Yelpers who are sensitive to hot and spicy food. We all left happy and really enjoyed our food. Oh, their Thai iced tea is delicious and is a very reasonable price, compared to other Thai restaurants.
