    Chicken dumplings
    Jada B.

Was super nervous to try, but I'm so glad I did. I ordered on DoorDash, but it was still really hot. When I got here. It was ready fast. The dumplings are so big and warm and filling and you can taste it. Very homemade fresh not frozen. The rice was so good flavorful the bowl was packed. They put sauce packets in silver room. The rice was so warm and the meat was really good.

    The biggest potstickers ever!

Unassuming on the outside, inside the Lucky Dumpling is bright and inviting. And oh my, the FOOD! We ordered a little of everything, and it was all hot, fresh, and delicious. The service was perfect, attentive without being intrusive. Before finding this place, we always drove to Elk Grove for dumplings, but never again! This is now our new favorite place to eat.

Veggie chow mein, kung pow chicken and Chicken with veggies

Ordered togo. The noodles were definitely sitting a while - tasteless greasy and soggy. Kung pow chicken and Chicken with veggies were mid, greasy and basic.

Definitely will be coming back! This location has been different businesses in the past years and most don't make it long. But I hope this one makes it through. I was a little skeptical because the outside of the location could use a reno but I wanted to give it a try and called for a to-go order. The lady who answered on a Saturday evening was so nice when taking my order. I ordered a wonton soup and steamed rice because I've been craving it for so long. The inside was bright and clean. There was a couple dinning in too. Total was $16.69 including a $2.50 tip so good price as I had leftovers too. I got home and unpacked the order. It was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. I almost finished the entire container myself so it will serve up to 1 and 1/2 bowls. I was very happy with the service and quality of the food. I'll be coming again to try out the menu!

Came here and they gave us free chicken soup so good for a cold day

The service here is so good and the food is amazing top quality, this place deserves more love it's such a calming and peaceful atmosphere

Seating area inside, nice and air condition is working well. Too bad it smells like someone is smoking.

While eating inside the building, you can smell the cigarette smoke from people/kitchen. Disgusting. Ruined the whole meal.

    Wonton in chili oil

I don't know who's rating this place, but the food is super super basic. Food came out so fast, which tells me that everything is pre-frozen. Orange chicken was so bland and chicken was mainly batter. The beef was so chewy. The chicken fried rice tastes like a wet dog. The 2 appetizers were good -cream cheese wonton and chili wontons. They came out super fast though which tells me they have pre-made frozen food. If I want food like that I'll just eat at home. Def won't be back, had high hopes! Place Is very clean despite the outside and waitress was nice. They took their lunch while we ate though and waited a while before getting our check.

General chicken w/ chicken chow mein combo, house, famous wontons, and an order of shumai.

Best shumai I've ever had. I will not be able to eat shumai at the buffet any more. The wontons and general chicken were great too. This is another Highland's Hidden gem.

    Nice and very clean

Both packed a good amount of heat at the spicy level, which we loved. The Lao sausage was also super flavorful, but as soon as you cut it, the inside does fall apart a bit. It's a personal preference to have a denser sausage. Service was also ok. We found ourselves needing to call over the waitress a couple times, since we were just sitting waiting to order or get a box and check at the end. Flavors are worth coming back for tho.

There are signs to direct you to the entrance of the restaurant. We were seated immediately and the server was very attentive. We hadn't been before so she made several suggestions for the broth options. We chose the pork bone and satay peanut - both were excellent. The satay peanut is not thick or peanutty. The flavors were rich and balanced. We ordered a few meats and appetizers which came out quickly. There is a cold bar area for veggies, seafood, noodles, fishballs, etc. It's well stocked and fresh. There's also a sauce area with many choices. There looks to be a hot food area but that wasn't in operation when we were there. Drinks are included and self serve. Appetizers were good especially the stuffed tofu roll and popcorn chicken. Meat was thin, fresh and flavorful. We tried the american waygu, beef belly and ribeye. The shrimp paste meatball is delicious but a little large. We were going to go with 4 stars for the location but the food and service more than makes up for it. We'll for sure be back.

It was fairly empty when we went so it felt especially roomy. Service was friendly and quick. We ordered Kimchi Fried Rice, Mulnaengmyeon (cold noodles), Maeun Galbi Jjim (spicy braised beef short ribs), LA Galbi, and Joji Gui (pan-fried yellow croaker). My favorite was the cold noodles! so refreshing and perfect for a lighter dish. The galbi jjim was extremely flavorful. We skipped the cheese since it's an additional $3 and honestly, I don't think we missed it. The LA galbi was a little dry and for $33, I expected the meat quality to be a little better. The kimchi fried rice was tasty but had a little too much butter and cheese for my liking. The pan-fried yellow croaker was good. The banchan were actually a highlight. On my latest visit it was a very busy Sunday, but I was able to place an order for take-out and then wait in my car for the order to be ready. I ended up ordering the pork steamed rice noodle roll, the beef and cilantro steamed rice noodle roll, the garlic long beans, and the beef and mixed mushrooms. I saw a couple of other Elites dining in when I was ordering, but it was so busy I couldn't properly say hi, so "HI DAVID AND EVA!" I'll have to keep an eye out for their next review, because whatever they had looked delish! I waited in the car for a bit and then when the order still needed a few more minutes I popped into the dollar store next door to kill a bit more time. Before I knew it my order was ready to go. They packed everything really nicely and we served it up as soon as we got home. Their rice noodle rolls are so flavorful and I love the sweet, salty and savory sauce that comes with it. The noodles are really filling, and the dishes we got would be enough food for 2-4 people depending on how hungry you are. We ate the rice rolls right away and then had leftover green beans and beef and mushrooms for lunch today. The green beans were fresh and had a great garlic flavor, without it being too much. The Beef and Mushrooms was great, the beef was tender and flavorful and the mushrooms soaked up all the sauce. There were also green beans in this dish, which was a perfect addition. I really need to dine in soon for the full experience, but take-out has always been a win for me.

We decided to try a little bit of everything and here is what we ordered: hot and sour soup, potstickers, spicy cucumbers, BBQ pork, BBQ pork fried rice, Mongolian beef, and honey walnut shrimp. The food came out fast and piping hot. Pretty soon our entire table was covered with dishes. We started with the hot and sour soup, which we both felt was lacking in the flavor department. It didn't have that spicy tang that you look for when you order hot and sour soup. The potstickers were fried crispy, but the dough was a little too thick. The spicy cucumbers had no flavor to them at all. And the honey walnut shrimp was not memorable. We both felt that the two best dishes were the BBQ pork fried rice and the Mongolian beef. The beef was tender and had good flavor. The prices were extremely fair and the portions were large, but all in all this was not my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area.

I like that they didn't put it in a regular cup. Crispy Pork Belly: it was okay. I was craving for crispy Pork Belly. I am use to the traditional crispy pork belly. This one is drenched in a sweet sauce which I know most people will like; however, I am just not a big fan of sweet pork. My friend love it though. Basil Ground/minced chicken: We enjoyed this dish. However, the same thing for me, it was a bit sweet for my taste. Gyoza: it was pretty good Service: the male server, was welcoming making our visit a better one. Pipo Ramen and Rice…read more I've been wanting to try Pipo Ramen and Rice since 2023, when it was ranked #11 on Yelp's list of places to eat in the Sacramento area. I've driven past this spot countless times but somehow never made it in, until now! I stopped by on a Saturday before noon, and the restaurant was pretty quiet, with only a few tables occupied. The interior is modern, clean, and well kept, making it a nice spot for a casual meal. After looking over the menu, we decided on the Pad Thai with Shrimp (medium heat) and Panang Curry with Chicken (medium heat). While ordering, our server also recommended the Pipo Salad, essentially their take on papaya salad. They offer it Lao or Thai style, and we went with the Thai style with mild heat. Once the food came out, the first thing I noticed was the portion sizes, everything was much bigger than I expected, especially considering the reasonable prices. These are definitely portions that are easy to share family-style. The Pipo Salad had tons of flavor, and I really enjoyed being able to taste the vinegar and fish sauce. One thing to note, though: I ordered it mild, but this ended up being the spiciest dish on the table! I'd say the heat was closer to a medium, while the Pad Thai and curry were much milder. The Pad Thai was solid. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the flavor was there. The Panang Curry was good, although I personally wished both the Pad Thai and curry had a little more heat. Luckily, our server brought out some condiments, including Thai pepper fish sauce, which was excellent with the curry and gave it the extra kick I was looking for. Overall, I'd definitely recommend giving Pipo Ramen and Rice a try. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and there's a good variety of dishes I'm looking forward to exploring on my next visit. My only real complaint is that the spice levels seem a little inconsistent. I wanted my Pad Thai and curry to be spicier, but at the same time, I didn't want my mouth completely on fire. Hopefully I can find that perfect balance next time! Would I come back? Absolutely. I've still got plenty of the menu to work my way through!
