I tried their lemon grass tilapia sandwich, keeping in theme with trying something slightly new. I would actually get this protein for future banh mis if it was more prevalent! This place is quite a hole in the wall, and is located in the Georgetown neighborhood very close to Airport Way, which really gets busy in the morning and peak hours. There's no public restroom nor dedicated interior here; just several outdoor tables, and you order your stuff through their window. Menu mostly consists of both phin-dripped coffee and banh mi sandwiches of various kinds. One of my closest friends enjoys coming here every once in a while to enjoy both their coffee and banh mi. From a previous visit here around 2023 with friends, I do consider their banh mi sandwiches as one of the best in the Seattle area, and they need more recognition for it. This time I only got coffee for both me and my sis. Servers were really happy to tell me what's in each kind of coffee I asked about, their own recommendations, and how I wanted each coffee (hot/cold, whole/oat milk, etc.). They were also very accommodating when I wanted to suddenly switch from iced to hot coffee for both drinks since it was cold, wet and rainy outside. I got the pho spice latte for myself, and the da lat fog for my sis. Both drinks were really tasty and I enjoyed them: - In particular, the pho spice latte has some of the ingredients in regular pho broth like star anise and cinnamon, along with cardamom and fennel. It had such a strong citrusy fragrance when I was drinking it, and had that recognizable hint of pho broth. The espresso still stands out, and drink was perfectly balanced with the strong cinnamon. - My sis's da lat fog also had a strong cinnamon taste and aftertaste but without the stronger coffee caffeine. Oolong tea aroma is apparent, and the drink had a nice, sweet and vanilla taste to it. It's different from a London fog which has earl grey tea instead, so this one was a unique take on it. On a warmer day, I can see myself coming back for their banh mi sandwiches yet again, while having their coffee on the side as well. We grabbed two of the mini banh mi, one with ginger chicken and the other with sausage, plus a sweet condensed milk coffee. Everything tasted great, and while the "mini" really is snack-sized, it was fun to try a couple different flavors. The coffee was sweet, creamy, and refreshing, a good match for the food on a warm day. Service was quick and friendly, which made the whole stop feel easy and enjoyable. My husband and I are in love with this place! I think we've visited this cafe about 5 times in the last few weeks. We've ordered/tried almost all of their drinks and have tried 4 of their sandwiches. My fave drinks are the read boat latte and the bac xiu. Their extra strong ca phe sua da is exactly what you need if you're sleep deprived or just need that extra extra boost! We loved all the sandwiches we've tried so far: ginger chicken, pork sausage patty, red curry shrimp, and cold cut special. The staff are always nice and friendly sly and open to suggestions. On weekends, I love how the tables are out so you can hang out a bit while eating your sandwich or just enjoying your drinks. The chicken was tender, the bread was the perfect crunchy consistency, and the vegetables were marinated perfectly. The coffee is amazing. Great hole in the wall spot for the best Vietnamese grab and go food. They have an extensive selection of banh mi sandwiches (pro tip - try a mini version so you can have tool to sample other items). I had the pork patty banh mi in the mini size along with a shrimp spring roll. The sandwich bread was perfect - crunchy on the outside, chewy within and the fillings were perfectly balanced and fresh. The spring roll was huge and super tasty as well. I love coming to Georgetown for Voi Ca Phe. It's a walk up storefront with a few metal tables out front and the sheer unlikeliness of the spot is part of its charm. Which is not to say that the food and drinks aren't a draw as well. I LOVE their iced coffees and in addition to a traditional Vietnamese coffee which they do great, you can also get one with coconut condensed milk and iced lattes with Tamarind syrup or pho spices. It's so great to have something different than the usual but I'm still building up my courage to get the black garlic and the fish sauce lattes. I'm not sure if I tried this place on one of their off days, but my experience did not match my expectations based on the Yelp ratings. I wanted to try this place because I noticed they always have a crowd when I'm passing by, and their Yelp rating is promising. I stopped by for drinks with my boyfriend. They have a really interesting menu that I was genuinely excited about. My boyfriend got the black sesame latte which is a seasonal special, while I ordered the Da Lat Fog. Both drinks were incredibly underwhelming. The black sesame latte was very off-putting. It did not have any black sesame flavor and seemed like they added crushed black sesame which gave the drink a very sandy texture. The Da Lat Fog just tasted like milk. The flavors didn't come through, but at least it wasn't as bad as the black sesame latte. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend this place for drinks. read more

I had a great time visiting voi ca phe! I tried the coffee with condensed milk and the pork sausage patty banh mi. The banh mi was really good! The "mini" size is truly mini (see photo), so I recommend getting the full portion if you want more than just a snack. The coffee was not the best - I couldn't really taste the coffee since it was being over powered by condensed milk and ice so the whole thing was just kind of watered down. The two girls working the cafe were really friendly and made the order very fast! There is no indoor seating, only outdoor seating. Great place to eat and watch the trains and planes pass close by! You order at the window, the person serving us was very nice, and there's 3 outdoor tables, otherwise it's mostly just a grab and go place. You can tell they truly care about the quality and flavor of everything, there's clearly a lot of thought and care that go into their products. I can tell they've curated a selection of Vietnamese coffee beans and also I saw they donate some of their proceeds to elephant conservation which I love when businesses can do this. For my drink today, I've ordered the pho spice latte iced which wasn't really my favorite. But I think the licorice taste from the star anise spice they use is probably why I didn't like it. However I'd recommend giving it a try if you like licorice flavors or want to venture to try something new! I'll probably just give their classic cafe sua da a try next time around. That is one good pork banh mi. It's not perfect, but it's very tasty. The bread is great, a fresh true baguette with a nice crunchy crust...no notes. The pork sausage is quite good, but fails to reach its potential due to lack of sufficient charring. You can't blame the sausage, it's just poor parenting. Or chefing. Whatever. The good news is that it's an easily solvable problem! I'm going to start requesting it crispy, but I'm not waiting until then to finish this review, so let's just assume assume it was a marvelous choice and you should order it that way too. The sauce is really good, quite rich and almost tastes like it contains pâté (as any honest-to-Hanoi banh mi should), although I don't think it actually does. At least the menu doesn't mention it anywhere. I like it, but the sandwich could use just a bit less of it. And more jalapeños. Ok: well-done sausage, light on the sauce, extra jalapeño. That's the order. Lock it in. The Vietnamese coffee (with condensed milk) is also excellent. Legitimately tastes like some of the better vendors in northern Vietnam. If you're not familiar, it's an intense sip - in both the sweet and strong categories. A 12oz will probably be plenty for the uninitiated. If you know you love yourself a good Vietnamese coffee, you'll probably want the big boi because it is real damn good. Also makes it a great spot for those who tend to get sleepy after lunch. I was excited to try this takeout window, but unfortunately found high prices for almost insultingly-small amounts of mediocre food. I got the Pho Spice Beef bahn mi, the "mini" version. I think it's the smallest sandwich I've ever seen, yet cost $12 after tax. I thought the taste was average, not great. It mostly tasted like plain vegetables and meat, there didn't seem to be much of the additional spreads/sauces that are supposed to be on it. I also got the Iced Phin Coffee with Condensed Milk, 12oz. So excellent to have this quality Vietnamese coffee shop in South Seattle. This area doesn't lack for great Vietnamese choices with White Center nearby, but this place is special for their focus on coffee. I ordered some sandwiches, cold brew and a single Iced Cinnamon Phin Latte with a combo of oatmilk and condensed (because why not have the best of both worlds? You can get straight up dairy free if you prefer. My version was delicious with a cinnamon stick (and I think a piece of star anise?) bobbing around. The spouse picked up our order, which was ready as quickly as promised. He was pretty psyched with his chicken sausage patty, which he described as preferable to some of the other chicken delivery modes we have seen on banh mi. I took a little bite for posterity, definitely yummy! My tofu had a great coconut curry marinade that flavored the bread and veg. This sandwich is vegan if that's your jam. I was most excited about the take-home sized cold brew, which you can get black or in varying degrees of sweetness, which was great. Quaint little Vietnamese coffee shop located within Georgetown. I've popped in a few times now and always have been greeted with a friendly welcome. I've tried their regular Vietnamese iced coffees and have tried their Cà Phê Quế. I really liked their drinks, as it keeps true to its Vietnamese roots leaving a rich and flavourful taste that is familiar to what I grew to love. Solid coffee for sure! I also tried their Banh Mi Đặc Biệt, which the sandwich itself tasted fine but when I ate it the bread was stiffer than what I usually am accustomed to for a banh mi. I have heard of this place recently and was marked as one of the best banh mi in the area, so we had to try it. The place itself is a small take out joint at the corner of the main street. They also set up a small outdoor sit down if you want to sit down and enjoy your banh mi. We ended up ordering a tofu banh mi which is soaked in a coconut curry. $9.30 before tax Bread - this is really good bread, it was nicely toasted, soft and fluffy - the best part Tofu - the tofu itself was pretty good, when I had a bite of it on its own I can taste the curry and the tofu wasn't too soft and had a good texture Fillings - fresh and had all the components of a banh mi. The jalapenos was very mild so my husband like it. For me, the banh mi individual components was really good and I enjoyed all of it individually. However when I ate it as a whole, the flavors got muted. the tofu flavor was overwhelmed by the fillings making it a little bland. The freshness of the filling was overwhelmed by the warmth of the tofu and the tartness was gone. So overall the banh mi was a little bland even though each components was really good. Cute vietnamese cafe in georgetown!! I love the menu of beverages they offer. They specialize in vietnamese coffee of course, but they do offer non-coffee too. They do thai iced tea, da lat fog (their version of a london fog, but with oolong tea instead of earl grey), and a ginger chai latte. They also have banh mi on their menu! There are a couple of sausage patty options and dac biet and you can order a mini size or a regular size. I ordered the ginger chai with oat milk and the coconut curry tofu mini banh mi. My order came out really fast! The ginger chai had an excellent strong flavor of spices (some cafes just make a really bland boring chai) and was very good. The banh mi was really good too! The curry flavor was really good - I think that it would've had better texture if they had used fried tofu, but this worked too. I also like that they offer a smaller size - sometimes you just want a smaller portion to snack on. The employees there were also really nice. The cafe is small and has no indoor seating. Credit goes to Richard U, fellow Yelp Elite, for putting this new Georgetown spot on my radar screen. I really was craving a phin coffee and banh mi on 7/5/22. Traffic kind of bit coming south from Shoreline, cut through the CID and flew along Airport Way S and luckily found street parking around the corner from Voi Ca Phe. They have a very handy online ordering system on their website, but since this was my first visit I wanted to order and pay onsite. I patiently waited in the sunshine since there were a pair of individuals ahead of me. They are located between a gallery and the former original site of popular chicken spot. Payment by credit/debit cards are best at the register or prepaid online. The latter is recommended especially during the lunch rush. Note: this is a very tiny spot with no indoor dining, just takeout. There are some brightly colored outdoor seating and tables proximate to a freeway overpass and flight traffic overhead. Just felt a bit precarious at a major intersection, but gives you a feel of street food dining al fresco. I ordered the iced phin coffee with condensed milk ($5.25) and a pork sausage patty banh mi ($9.55) for takeout. Definitely the coffee was crafted with great care and my banh mi was ready shortly thereafter. I thought I'd be able to drive my mid afternoon lunch home after two other stops in Georgetown. Nope, I had to detour to Oxbow Park, the city park with Hat and Boots, and blissfully savor this lunch. Seattle is blessed with cafes and restaurants that offer phin style Vietnamese coffee, but after a sip or two of my order I definitely took notice of how exceptional it was. I liked how my banh mi was packaged, kept all the fixings contained with the delicious grilled pork sausage patty. I still got crumbs all over, but omg I sure liked the demi baguette used. Crispy and crunchy exterior, but pillowy soft crumb that encased the pickled vegies and succulent patty. My palate was very much dazzled. I ate about 2/3s on site and later in the evening the other third. Savored my iced coffee selection as I was stuck in traffic heading back northbound. Absolutely spot on lunch indulgence! I'd heard that this spot had some of the best banh mi in Seattle, so I was excited when I was able to stop by with a coworker to pick up a lunch order. We ordered our banh mi on their website, and the order was ready within the 5 minutes it took for us to get there to pick it up. There is no actual dining area - it's just a pick up window that allows you to get orders for takeout. Luckily, there's street parking right in front of the shop, so you can park there and quickly run up to the counter to get your takeout order. I ordered the Gà Viên Nướng - Chicken Sausage Patty and Nem Nướng Hà Nội - Pork Sausage Patty banh mi. Notably, the biggest difference between these banh mi and those from other spots is the bread - it doesn't have the hard, crunchy texture that is more traditional. But rather, it's softer and slightly fluffy, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The proteins were very flavorful and were quite unique banh mi flavors - I've never seen these flavors offered anywhere else. And the herbs and pickled veggies give a great crunch and brightness to each bite. They offer coffee and other beverages here too, so I ventured to try the Honey Ginger Limeade as well. The ginger flavor is very prominent, but it's not too strong (for someone that cooks with and eats ginger very often). If you're not used to strong ginger flavors, I'd ask them for a little less ginger, if possible. The banh mi prices are slightly higher than what you'd expect for banh mi. However, as you'll notice when you look at their menu, their banh mi types don't exactly mirror the types you'd get from Viet spots in Little Saigon. Cutest little Viet cafe I've ever been to. Saying this place is unique is an understatement. I enjoyed chatting with the owner and hearing the special items that she recommends. It's a little takeout restaurant with some outdoor seating. My friend and I were blown away by their Pho Spice Latte!! the owner described it as their version of "pumpkin spice latte" we were hesitant at first, but we were glad we decided to get it. The aroma is very similar to pho but it tastes very smooth and has a nice light basil taste which I'm guessing is what makes it similar to pho. (Everyone have to try it) read more
