I ordered 6 drinks today and I was a little disappointed in the boba. The boba was old texture boba, I know that because I used to work at a restaurant before. The drinks are decent definitely need more tea flavor to it. Service was great today, very friendly. It's a small shop with banh mi, roasted pork, ducks, and party trays to order. Would I order again? Uhm probably but they definitely need to stop using old boba though.
We went here for the plate of nation special. It was our first time. Even though the space is small, the menu is extensive. I had for the first time a KimChi bugolgi beef banh mi. It didn't have that much meat. My friend liked her roasted duck banh mi. She said her tea was good as well.
I visited Boss Tea after having dinner nearby, and it was a good spot for a beverage. Boss Tea is a small Vietnamese shop on Rainier Avenue that offers small dishes and a whole menu of different boba drinks to try. On a Saturday evening I was pleasantly surprised to find that Boss Tea was still open after we ate dinner, and there were a few people getting takeout here. Although they serve lots of different Vietnamese bites, I came here for a beverage for the drive home. I was pleased to find that they had a lot of different ube drinks, which is my favorite! Since I didn't want anything with caffeine, I ordered an ube milk latte, which didn't take long to get. The drink was tasty, with lots of ube flavor. Glad to have checked out Boss Tea while around the neighborhood. It's a solid spot for some boba or tea with friendly staff that's happy to accommodate whatever you prefer.
We usually go to Tony's bakery for banh mi sandwiches, but this morning my boyfriend and I were craving bubble tea. It's hard because on a Saturday morning at 10AM, bubble tea places tend not to open until 11-12pm. Well we searched up Yelp and found Boss Tea just a block away serving banh mi sandwiches AND bubble tea, amazing! I got the egg & avocado banh mi and added ham to it- like a breakfast sandwich egg, ham, and avocado, and my boyfriend got their grilled pork and egg banh mi. Sandwiches were delicious! It's also a plus that you have the option to customize your sandwich as well. We can't wait to come back to try some of their more non-traditional banh mis like the roast pork, duck, and there was even lobster on the menu! We also picked up a peach black tea and a matcha mango. Both were very good. I find that sometimes matcha drinks don't have enough of a matcha taste but there is plenty here! Can't wait to come back and try their other menu items and drinks!
I used to love coming here but recently the guy working the tea area is really not nice. I feel like he is rude, never friendly like zero % friendliness, and makes me feel bad for asking any questions or even wasting his time up by ordering something. The ladies that I've encountered are all nice but he has been the one I've been having to interact with lately nearly every time and I think I've had enough that I'll stop coming here sadly.
I visited here with my sister today, we ordered a few different coffee lattes and a lemongrass tofu banh mi for my hubs. I had the ube coffee latte and the tiramisu coffee latte. My sister ordered the pink butterfly and strawberry milk latte. All of it was good, my sister is super upset that there isn't a place like this near her so everytime she comes over we have to get drinks like this. She 100% recommends the strawberry milk latte if you like strawberry type drinks, the tiramisu coffee latte was too sweet for me so next time I'll order it with less sugar. Next time I'm in this area I'm gonna try one of their fruit teas.

I pulled it out and uncurled this sticker or label. Super disappointed and dissatisfied with my first visit and I probably won't return. Unfortunately I was already on the road and it wasn't worth it to turn around but this is gross.
Pretty good! Loved how chewy my boba was. Their ice is square cube shaped, I know most people want to know with ice preference. This place is worth the drive and shares the same interior with banhmi sandwiches. No fresh fruit or fresh take but if you're looking for something sweet and refreshing this place is it. The workers are incredibly nice and knowledgeable and most of all honest. I will continue to support this small business.
super delicious! some of the best matcha i've had in the area. and their strawberry add in was so tasty. my roommate got the matcha hurricane which was also awesome, can't wait to try more!
I came to Boss Tea a couple of times now. It's been nothing but a good experience each time. Drinks: There are extensive selections of beverages from tea, coffee, matcha, etc. The photo shows Matcha Hurricane(B1) and Mocha Vietnamese coffee (V1) with egg pudding and Boba. Very appealing from the look. Sweetness, ice level, toppings are all adjustable, just like other bubble tea. Cleanliness: The store is clean with a warming atmosphere--definitely 5/5. Staff: Friendly and attentive staff. Drinks and food are prepared promptly. Even they could get busy during lunchtime, and the turnover time is still quick Parking: Shared rear parking with Rainier restaurant. Overall, I recommend if you are craving bubble tea in the area and enjoy! :)
There wasn't anything too spectacular about the drink, after going to so many boba places, it's starting to kind of be similar with the sugary blended drinks. But it is really cool that they also serve food here, like legit Vietnamese food you would find at a deli, not just snacks. They share a parking lot with Rainier Restaurant. There's very minimal seating here, like 4 small bar stools against the window, not really enough room to sit and hang out, more to have a seat while waiting for your order to be ready. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:)
Bru the drinks were rlly good and the Banh mi was Service was awesome and it was just great.
This place is great! The deluxe Bánh mí was delicious with flavorful and crunchy pork belly! The bread was toasty yet easy to chew and the veggies tasted super fresh. We also had the pork and shrimp spring rolls which were amazinggg! They're not small like most places and the peanut sauce was okay for the most part. We like spicy food so we added some siracha to the peanut sauce and also added that to the banh mi The boba was pretty good! I got a peach/mango oolong tea with tapioca and lychee jelly and my boyfriend got a grapefruit/mango oolong tea with tapioca, mango jelly and lychee jelly (not on the menu but the lady was super nice about letting us create a drink) There was only 2 women working and one of them seemed like she was new but we were in no rush so we had no problem with the wait. The place is very small but very chill and quiet with a zen vibe.
Located next to Rainier Restaurant. This cute little to go shop sells banh mi and drinks. We had questions about their popular drinks and the employee was friendly and explained them. She also let us try different toppings. Their tiramisu coffee with egg pudding was my favorite. read more
I believe Boss Tea is one of only two boba shops in Beacon Hill/Rainier Valley, with the other being Happy Lemon. Since I'm more fond of supporting Mom & Pop shops, I decided to stop by Boss Tea first. This boba shop is shared with a Banh Mi Deluxe - in fact, I'm not really sure if it's actually a separate business at all and just has different signage outside. At any rate, the place is basically take out only. While there are four stools available, the counter space is taken over by potted plants, so there's not really any flat surface to rest any drinks or food. That works for me, but it's something to be aware of. Since this was my first visit, I went with the black milk tea/special. Boss Black Milk Tea, Less Sweet, Less Ice w/ Boba ($6.75) - This is a mixture of two different types of brewed tea, mixed with liquid creamer and syrup. The creamer and syrup are hand measured and mixed, so it's not as consistent as other shops using machines. Each sip has a pretty harsh sweetness that really hits the back of the throat. The drink is pretty creamy and the tea has almost a bit of a spiced note to it. Still, overall I found the sweetness to be too harsh and overpowering. There's a slight fruity sweetness on the exterior of the boba. The boba is soft and the texture feels kind of like a particularly leathery jelly. The teeth slice through the pearls easily with little bounce back. The pearls stiffen up a bit as they sit in the cold drink, which increases the firmness and bounce a little bit, but they never reach an especially bouncy state. I think this might be old boba that wasn't rotated correctly. They give a lot of boba in the cup, but unfortunately it's just not that pleasant to eat. This place has boba AND banh mi! So I had to get both! Parking is a little tricky to find but just be sure you park behind the storefront and it'll be way easier. There's an ample amount. As for the banh mi, I tried the deluxe banh mi crispy roasted pork belly (A1). It was so flavorful but unfortunately there was an inconsistent texture of crunchy/burnt and chewy/fatty. But all the other toppings tasted super well with it! As for the boba, I tried the hurricane matcha, which sadly, did not turn out well. The matcha powder to milk ratio must have been off because the matcha powder was clumpy and not mixed well. Getting a matcha drink was a risk since it has to be mixed super well and if it's not, it's absolutely undrinkable. If I were to go again, I'd definitely try something safer like a coconut milk tea or jasmine milk tea. At least the drink looked really pretty! read more

I came here because the drinks seem unique and look so pretty via the pictures on Yelp! I didn't love my drink, but I admit it's probably because of what I got. I chose the caramel creme thai. I think I just did not like their Thai tea. It tastes like the powdered version. Would go back and try another drink, but actually more excited to go back to try their banh mi! :) read more

This place was in the same storefront as a banh mi restaurant. We ordered: Ube Matcha Latte with Matcha Crystal, Oreo Matcha With Egg Pudding and a Coffee Milk Tea with Egg Pudding. It was absolutely wonderful. You can really taste the matcha. And in the Ube drink they add some creamy cream cheese topping on top. Absolutely splendid. I would recommend going here especially since it's Nextdoor to rainier restaurant. read more

Tried this place for the first time bc it's near my grandparents home and this is a new boba shop in the area so I wanted to give it a try but tbh I am not a fan, one sip of this and it tasted like tea that was bitter and has been sitting for a long time and didn't taste like there was any honey in there and if there was it was honey that wasn't honey. I mixed it multiple times to make sure the flavor is mixed but after taking a couple of sips I couldn't drink it. I didn't want to go back and get a different drink bc I already left, so instead of wasting it, I gave it to my bf. But the cup is cute and reusable. I also got 2 chicken banh mi and it wasn't bad, I'd probably try this place again, and order something different. read more

This is the second time coming here. We decided to do both iced and not hot this time. The hot the first time ended up not being hot. It was better this time for sure. I ordered the Matcha Hurricane and it was bomb! Hahaha I even licked the inside of the cup to try the matcha hurricane swirl. It was soooo good! One downside is the matcha powder didn't dissolve all the way, so the bottom had a lot of it left. The normal sugar level is 50%. If it was 100% it probably would've been too sweet for my liking. No toppings added, ordered as it. The Boss Tea was good and standard milk tea. This drink also comes 50% sweetness. I will add this to a place to go to and recommend to people. read more
Stopped by to satisfy a quick boba craving! Picked up a guava jasmine tea - was a bit on the sweeter side (will have to remember to get it half sweet next time). Service was quick and pleasant. And the boba was fresh and delightful! Their milk teas and specials sounded pretty good, so I'll be back to try more. A bit pricy but that seems to be the story at most places. read more

Went here to try their bahn mi. I got the pork belly, it was great. I'm intrigued on trying more. Large selection of boba tea drinks and a picnic bench outside. Reasonably priced bahn mi (less than $8!). Everyone on staff was friendly. They charge a 3.5% fee for credit card but accept cash. I will definitely go back again! read more

Visiting from out of town here! Just picked up banh mi and bubble tea an hour ago and I'll say It's super good! Great customer service too! I'm excited cuz it's just couple miles away from the Seattle house we stay. Now it's my new favorite place to go! I'm more on just bubble tea person but trying the deluxe banh mi was good thing. Highly recommend this place! read more
Honestly I had a super weird experience here. The tea shop is located next to a BBQ restaurant and the walk up to the Boas Tea door smells terribly of garbage and oil. When I got inside it was dark and hot. I was hoping to get a blended drink, but they only do shaken teas at Boss Tea. The guy making the bubble tea asked me to Venmo him instead of pay with a debit card. I thought that was a super weird request, seeing as the Venmo account is not linked to Boss Tea... my tea was served on ice but was somehow very warm. The boba was mushy and overcooked. I just didn't really enjoy my tea, the experience, or any of it. Won't be going back. read more
