Two hours before the appointment, I received a call from the spa saying that they had to cancel it because the service provider was stuck in traffic. I went for a float spa appointment and was super excited since it was my first time. The woman at the front desk explained everything to me so I felt comfortable. Once I got in the pod though it was really hard to zone out. It sounded like someone was doing dishes or making some kind of loud noise right outside of my room and I could hear someone walking back and forth upstairs. I could hear all this with a white noise machine, ear plugs, and the pod closed. I know they cannot guarantee complete silence but I felt like those noises could be avoided. As soon as I started to relax I would hear another noise that would jolt me back. Also when I left, the woman at the front desk was speaking to someone (looked like another employee or friend maybe with her mask half way down) and I was not acknowledged at all and had to say thank you before she realized I was there. I had a massage with cupping with Kenzie. Oh my goodness! I admit I had been kind of wary beforehand, as I am kind of a wimp when it comes to pressure, and I was worried the cupping might be uncomfortable. I was so wrong. Kenzie was very professional and knowledgeable, explaining that she can customize the pressure with the cups. It was SO relaxing. I absolutely loved having it done on my face. This is my definition of self care. From the moment you enter it feels like the secret garden spa that would be in the garden from the movie. The massage was detailed to my needs and not a one for all. The fact that stones and cupping are included will have me coming back. My massage was professional, emotion releasing, and my body felt so much more flexible. My facial was detailed and informational. The face cupping was beyond amazing. I could feel the drainage. The spa float was clean and relaxing. Visualization and relaxing breathing made the float beneficial. My advise is not to shave right before the salt float. I didn't think that one through. The front desk was welcoming and kind. My experience was beyond amazing. This is much more than your normal massage place and the prices make self care available for the community. I booked 2 appointments for Reflexology for myself and a friend for 9/1/19. From making the appointment to leaving the spa was great a experience. Katrina made my appointments. She was very gracious and answered all of my questions. Elise checked us in and again very pleasant, gracious, and made you feel comfortable. Megan was our Reflexologist. She was very professional, friendly, kind, and accommodating. Both my friend and I enjoyed the session and I will definitely come back when I visit Richmond again. Kenzie gave me a deep tissue massage (with cupping) to deal with scar tissue from a major surgery. As expected, some of it felt great and some of it hurt, but it's an intense massage. She periodically asked if the pressure was OK. Felt relief and a deep sense of relaxation afterwards (which has continued into the afternoon). Kenzie is very knowledgeable and gave me some tips for self-care at home. Much appreciated. Love the look of the spa, reminiscent of the spas in Bali. They sell vegan body scrubs and other products. This was my first experience with float therapy and I LOVED it! The staff was very kind and the check in process was so simple. The facilities are SO clean and beautiful. I have pretty severe anxiety and saw online that float therapy helps relax anxiety so I was very willing to try it out. I felt incredibly relaxed. Will DEFINITELY be back! I came to Vitality for the overnight float. My float was in the ROOM. I have been floating for many years and this is the best float tank I have ever experienced. I typically float in silence but the ROOM has a great sound system and one of the listening choices was Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. I got a massage from Kenzie last week and added the Medi-Massage Cupping and Massage Cupping with Magnets at her suggestion for a knee issue I've been struggling with for several years. I begin training for my first half marathon next week and really hoped to be feeling better with this issue before beginning the training. Well first off the fire alarm went off during my float which was very very unsettling I know that it was a fluke but still I feel like I should've been offered some money back or something. Nobody even came and told me that everything was OK because here I am sitting naked in a dark pod not knowing if there's an actual fire or not. Also the room is not soundproof at all I could hear everything that was going on at the front desk, everything that was going on in the hallway outside my door, cars and ambulances outside. It was overall not a very relaxing float and I am definitely looking into visiting some other places for next time. read more

The receptionist was awesome. That's all I can say that's positive. I've floated at six different spas, and I know what good looks like. This was the worst. The tanks don't have proper insulation. Even through two sets of silicone plugs in their best tank, you'll hear sound machines, a loud HVAC system that stays on, adjacent activities, thumping walks, and any people who happen to be chatting in reception. The rooms are cramped. The building seems unfinished lending to an unclean atmosphere regardless of how hard one would try to keep it clean. The rooms are cramped, and they give disclosures stating all of their other services and that you'll pay a gratuity if you're not pleasant (all of which should be dealt with differently). I'm sad that there's no better place to float in town. read more

This might be a long review, but I feel the need to write it. My natural doctor told me that I need to be receiving massages AT LEAST twice a month to help me with stress (husband has been deployed in Afghanistan for 2.5 years, and I work part time while raising our 3 year old while he is gone), hormone balance, SLEEP ISSUES, and just to have human touch. I worked with another massage therapist that was associated with the same practice as my ND, and while she was great, I never slept well after the sessions. Everyone was surprised to hear that I never slept well after energy work, and I just figured its because my body was that out of whack...things that were supposed to be relaxing and worked for others were overstimulating to my body. that massage therapist ended up moving, and I was on the hunt to find another one. I really just stumbled upon Vitality and read the reviews (I am a BIG review person), and knew I needed to book with Kenzie. I had one massage with her, and was extremely excited to see she used other things in her sessions other than her hands, like cupping for example. That night I actually SLEPT. slept a straight 6 hrs and according to my sleep tracker, didn't have any movement. It was like I had died and gone to heaven. lol. I have worked with Kenize for over 6 months now, and she is always fast with getting me in when I ask for an appt. Since I live on the Southside, and Kenzie is downtown, I decided to try another massage therapist that is literally 5 min from my house. This massage therapist was great, but again, did not offer anything like Kenzie, and wasn't as tough on me like I need and want. lol. Sleep immediately went downhill again after my month break from Kenzie (when I decided to try someone closer.) Needless to say, I have learned my lesson, and just one massage from Kenize after a one month break, and it kick started my sleep again. This morning I even overslept. that is a NEVER. but in this case, much welcomed and all due to Kenzie's work :) Thanks Kenzie!! read more
