I bought a gift card for my husband. When he got there for his appointment, they tried to charge him another $130 on top of the $140 that I paid for a 1 hour float and 1 hour massage. Before she honored the gift card, she had my husband call me to provide proof of what I paid. She eventually agreed to honor the gift card. This totally explains why they're rarely there and getting an appointment is so easy! My husband said that the massage was awful and the float was so bad he left after ten minutes. The actual float time (my first) was good. My issue is with the front desk help. I could not understand 90% of what she was telling me when she set me up in float room. Then, when I was leaving it got even worse. The lady was telling me to pay via cash and that they didn't accept credit card, even though I paid for my deposit online via credit card. She kept pointing to and touching the cash sticking out of my wallet. Then, I "think" she was trying to tell me a dollar amount I owed but I told her I booked under the military option, a $10 discount. She kept telling me "no military", even though that option and discount is listed on their website. Then, on top of all that I think she was telling me I was in the tank for 90 minutes. I was not, my appointment was for 60 minutes. I got so frustrated, paid cash and left. I will never go back. Any relaxation I got due to the float therapy went out the door arguing with the receptionist afterwards. I'd like to try floating again but I'll go elsewhere. read more

Both the service and experience itself left a sour taste in my mouth. Floating is definitely not meant for me. I purchased a session to try something new for stress relief. I read the website to get an idea of what to expect prior to coming in and arrived a few minutes before my time. The gentleman that checked me in and gave me a tour made me feel quite uncomfortable. He explained things multiple times and stayed in the float room, in my opinion, way too long. There are signs in the room explaining the process and his incessant talking was too much. I purchased an hour float. I would not recommend this experience if you are prone to vertigo or nausea. I am not, but I felt very strange after floating. I had a dull headache and nausea for hours after. The room and shower were clean and you are advised to shower after floating. They offer toiletries, but they were not formulated for all hair/skin types and were practically empty. If you don't want to redress with salty skin, I'd advise you to bring your own toiletries. When I was checking out, there were several female employees lingering in the hallway staring at me. The same gentleman tried to upsell me on a massage to follow my float and to rebook. I declined both. I just felt very uncomfortable - physically and mentally. Not the right vibe for me. I'll stick with a professional spa or Fuller School for massages. read more

I woke up this morning with my back screaming! I was looking around Yelp for a place that did massage and cupping. I'm so glad I found Float Chesapeake. I've never done floating or cupping before. They were both amazing experiences. The float tank was incredibly relaxing. I suggest you sit up slowly afterwards. I did experience some slight vertigo. There was shampoo and conditioner in the shower. I used the provided robe to walk across the hall for my massage. The masseuse stepped out twice, but told me where she was going. Once was to get the hot stones and a weighted heated pillow for my lower back. The second time was to get a hot towel and the cups. The massage and cupping session were so relaxing that I dozed off while the cups were on my back. (I know I was asleep because I woke up when I heard myself snore.) booked appointment for couple massage and candle ear wax. I really enjoyed our massage . however when it was time to check out and pay my bill which came up to 204.67 she said she needed a tip. I clicked no tip on the screen. and the lady said you can pay cash for tip. I proceeded to put my card back in my purse . and as I was walking out she said no tip? we work really hard been working and doing this for long time. however she probably would have gotten one if i didn't feel hardware about leaving a tip. you can't make me tip. great massage but me and my hubby will not be going back. do not honor military discount only for the float massage by the way. read more

This was our first visit and certainly our LAST! I booked a swedish massage online but when we arrived there was a sign out front promoting a special which was 50 min float and 50 min swedish massage for $99 so we decided to go with that. There was something floating in the float water. Don't know what it was (hot tub sludge maybe??) but it looked disgusting. The place doesn't feel or smell very "spa like" either. I would not recommend going here. My husband purchased me a massage package for this place and when I got there I explained I'd like her to concentrate on certain areas. I don't think she understood me. She also left the room multiple times to assist walk ins coming in. She ended my massage early and didn't offer anything for my interruption in time. I fell asleep when I was floating and fell asleep again during my massage by Sarah. This clean and safe place has my highest recommendations. After some research on floating, I made an appointment for me and my daughter. Both of us have anxiety, and this could be good for both of us. Went in and was shown the layout of the place and directions on what to do and how floating works. The people there were attentive and answered any questions I had. The place was very clean, and there were showers in the rooms. I rinsed off before getting into the pod. Lights off and got into the glowing pod. This isn't for everyone, for me I could not relax. My mind would not allow it. It was quiet, and the music was solemn. After the hour, I showered to remove all the salt. I was dressed and met my daughter out in the waiting area as I was talking to the owners. She loved it and said she actually fell asleep. Wow... I'm glad it worked well for her, which was more important. My daughter booked another appointment, and as we were leaving, i noticed they started cleaning the room. Even though it was not for me, I'm going to try again. I was told it could take a few tries to relax. Again, nice place, and the owners were great! read more
