What a gem of a spa! I found this place on Google with great reviews and decided to give it a try. I was really needing some relief from lower back tension and recovery from a few tough workouts. I explained everything to my massage therapist, Autumn, and she gave me one of the best 60-minute massages I have ever had. The pressure was perfect, the atmosphere was calming, and the room was clean with high-quality products. Next time, I will add the hot salt stones and going for a 90-minute session. PHENOMENAL!!!! I highly recommend this spa! I got the Swedish Massage by Kat. The spa is clean, calming, and the lighting is perfect- not too bright but not dark. The ambience is soothing, as they play calming music. The staff are very kind and friendly. They have lockers for you to put your items and that you can take the key. Kat was amazing. She was very friendly and personable, and made sure I was comfortable. She was very knowledgeable and assisted with advice for my ailments (bad back and knee). They cover you up and make sure private areas stay covered. They use heated blankets and heat pads, and actually listen to you regarding pressure and pain. I will be going back. read more

I recently went to this salt cave with a bunch of my women friends for a Girl's Day Out. It is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood but not hard to find. It's quiet and clean and they have some unique things to buy should you desire. Their selection of Polish and Baltic amber was truly lovely. Our group reserved the whole room for our session. It was heavenly. When we started, we were briefly told about where the salt came from and the benefits of salt therapy. The lights were then dimmed as soft chimes tinkled and we all quietly relaxed into our zero gravity chairs with a blanket. Several women slipped into a quiet sleep. It was absolutely heavenly! When our session was over, the lights were subtly brought back up and a staff member came in to gently rouse us. Coming back into reality was gentle. The spa is small, but has plenty to offer including facials, massages, and a float tank. They also have complementary locking small lockers so you are unencumbered when you partake of any of the services. We all left feeling euphoric, relaxed, and feeling wonderful. This was first professional massage that was not just in a chair. This spa is wonderful. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The establishment is very clean, well taken care of and calming. I had the relaxing massage with an added foot treatment. The table was heated and warm and my massage therapist Jody was respectful and professional. It was fantastic. This place is just A-OK in my opinion. We did the salt caves and deprivation tanks. First up the salt cave! It is man made to resemble a salt cave in Europe. It is made with paper mache and you have to wear shoe coverings when you walk on the sand that was poured into the room. Feels awkward to have the shoe coverings on. There was also no where to put your belongings. Would have been nice to have a basket before you entered, or by each chair and a trash can near the entrance. I feel like for a private group "waiting" room before services - this would be super cool. But as an experience in itself - it was quiet boring. They space you out due to covid in a small room. It apparently fits up to 8 people, i'm not sure how as it felt small with just two people in there. The deprivation tanks were in private rooms. There is a shower, a chair and the float tank in a small room near the parking lot. The water was heated, which was nice and big enough to swim around in. I closed the tank and tried to concentrate on the beat of my own heart with my music off. I was able to hear music from cars in the parking lot and sounds from my guys room (as he had the sound on loud). Which of course broke my concentration and made me feel bored. We definitely would like to try other services at the Salt Spa. I don't feel that these two services were right for our personalities. The staff seemed super nice! They take your temperature before you are admitted in, and work really hard to social distance groups. I would suggest, if you are looking for a unique spa in the Williamsburg area, this might be for you. read more

Not trying to be salty, but you've got to jump thru a lot of hoops to come here! However, once you arrive, the salt spa is a relaxing way to detox and decompress. I've been here a of couple times and have thoroughly enjoyed the salt cave experience. You'll be given shoe covers to enter the cave, which is a cozy, dimly lit space; think igloo but with wall to wall salt! The antigravity chairs are mostly comfortable and the soothing music will put you at ease. I will say that my neck was a bit sore afterward, so I'll remember to bring a neck pillow next time. It would be ideal if they provided neck pillows for their clients. They do provide blankets upon request. The price for a 45 minute session is perfectly reasonable. The benefits of the salt cave and the history of its conception are explained with a pre-recorded introduction once you get seated in the cave. They also have a brochure with more details. A few of the employees could be a bit more welcoming, I found them somewhat curt while others were pretty congenial. They don't allow personal effects in the cave, but they have really tiny lockers available. So you may want to leave your purse in the car. They sell some gorgeous amber jewelry along with some silver jewelry as well. Also for sale, are many different kinds of salt lamps, salt votive holders, bath salts and soaps and other similar items. The first time I visited, I purchased several lamps and candle holders. I love them! They had a fabulous sale and they make thoughtful gifts! We use them every night by our bedside, I love the dimmer switch to control the brightness of the lamps. If I lived in Williamsburg, I'd be a regular patron here! Update 2/19/20 It was another wonderful and very relaxing visit at the salt spa, salt cave. The staff are all very nice and helpful, the salt room is very cozy, nice space filled with tons of salt. When the lights dim, you recline back in your zero gravity recliner, close your eyes and just breath in deep and easy. The sounds of the music and water in the room are soothing. Ahhmazing! This was the most enjoyable experience I've had at a spa in a long time. I am not sure if it was because I had absolutely no expectations, or because it was just that great. I heard of this spa through a friend and had it on my list for a year. Well I decided to take a day off from work and book myself a trip to the Williamsburg Salt Spa. I started by calling to get as much information as possible, because I wasn't exactly sure if it was affordable. The woman who answered the phone was knowledgeable and patient in explaining to me what to expect. From the online pictures, it looked as if I could only be in the salt cave with a group of walk-ins. I wanted a massage and I wanted it in the cave. After going in circles about what I walked, the woman on the phone told me that I can pay a little more and have my Swedish massage in the cave alone. This was exactly what I wanted. As I arrived 3 ladies were coming out of the room with this perfect look of "zen". I remember saying to myself, "I want that". It was clear that they had enjoyed their experience. After a few "to know's" I was all set to have my massage. Some of the things to know was the impact of breathing in the salt. Nothing major, more like allergy symptoms afterwards. I was also told to not be alarmed if I don't experience any of it, it was just good to know in the event I did. The floor was covered in salt and felt good on the bottom of my bootie covered feet. The cave was exactly that, the walls were covered in salt. However, the ceiling was just decorative accents, not salt at all. I thought it was interesting that they shared this tidbit. Back to the massage, wow! The woman who worked on me was attentive and communicated with me the perfect amount. She also asked if I had problem areas and gave those areas a lot more attention. Thoroughly enjoyed my self-care day to myself, taking advantage of the Ultimate Spa Package. Started off with a 30 minute sauna sweat-detox, followed by a 60 minute float session (first time ever trying it and though took me a few minutes to let myself fully relax and let go, really liked it), then a 45 minute salt cave session, finishing with a 60 minute massage. Took home some goodies too so I can make better efforts treating myself at home as well. Definitely plan to treat myself in the future with another spa day. Eh... is what I thought leaving the salt cave and the massage.... it was fine. Maybe two stars is a bit low but for the value I think the rating fits. This place has great reviews and I guess I should preface this review by saying I'm from a metro area that has a lot of access to great spas however we are on vacation in the area and decided to try this place out. Customer service; while they aren't rude I don't find them particularly warm or friendly more so apathetic and aloof. The cave; a room with salt and yes I'm over simplifying it. There are many benefits to Himalayan salt however I don't believe one visit will be enough to see results so you will leave saying; ok I just sat in a room for 45 minutes with salt you probably won't feel any different. The hot salt rock massage; literally a hot stone massage. The massage was decent but nothing special. She was already tense and muscles tight and this became the perfect surprise! She loved her Masseuse "Sandra" who worked out every kink in her back. BTW- you can leave a tip when you book the appt or give it in person. The Mrs said Sandra was worth every dime! We've been wanting to try the floating pods for years and decided to try it here as we were visiting. We were a last minute booking and the women on the phone were very nice in helping us book. The place is clean. Weird to walk in and suddenly the salt room is just there. Also weird to have to use the bathroom, which is right in the front, facing everyone. My partner felt so uncomfortable, he held it in. The experience itself was interesting. Wouldn't pay that price on a regular basis. The lights inside the pod were distracting, even with your eyes closed. I finally changed it to a purple (weird that blue wasn't an option). The music isn't calming under the water. I had to turn it down because it created odd background noise on loud, but then was a little too quiet when lower. You do float immediately, which is kind of cool. The water is just room/body temp, so it's not hot. You can get warm with the pod closed, which we both did. The spray water bottle is helpful. I got salt water in my eye twice, just from lifting my arms to get comfortable. The water quickly got rid of the burning. I went in with a headache and neckache, thinking the pod would help - nope. So, for me, not therapeutic. I did finally fall asleep, as did partner. He didn't feel relaxed the majority of the time. Just wasn't quite what we expected. From research we had done over the years, just wasn't quite there. IF I did it again (and it would be elsewhere; I wouldn't do it here again at that price) - I would DEFINITELY use ear plugs. I STILL have salt in my ears, after almost two weeks. So ridiculous. I'm a swimmer and surf and haven't had this problem before. Also, TOTALLY dried out my hair! Their shampoo and conditioner (while nice that they provide it) are HORRIBLE. Take your own. I had to extreme condition my hair three times to get it back okay. Just okay experience. The facilities appeared to be in good working order--they were clean and the attendant that showed me to the room was kind and friendly. I do wish the shower spout had been better. I struggled to rinse my hair during my post-tank shower. That ended up leading me to feel rushed at the end. If you're considering the float tank to, some details: - Swimsuit or nude, whatever you chose - Shower beforehand, I'd recommend bringing your own shampoo/conditioner - Lights are available in the tank, I'd recommend foregoing lights though - Post-tank, the floors are VERY slippery. I randomly came across the Williamsburg Salt Spa and decided to book a session for myself and my husband. This place is the first Salt Spa on the East Coast, and they offer spa sessions (45-minutes) and massage services - it is owned by Agnieszka Adamiska and her husband, Marcin Drygala. In '08, the Williamsburg Salt Spa imported over 15 tons of therapeutic salt from Poland and Pakistan, creating a microclimate that is rich in minerals (sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, bromine and iodine). You basically cover your feet with the booties that are provided in a little wicker basket by the water fountains (or you can bring your own pair of socks; no barefeet allowed), and wait in the nicely-scented waiting room for your session. When the cave is available, you walk in (fully-clothed, no need to undress) - the Himalayan salt on the ground are supposed to 'massage' your feet. You then situate yourself on one of the available '0 Gravity' recliners. There is soothing new age type of music playing and your purpose is just to breathe deeply in and out. The temperature is moderate at 75 degrees, and there is less than 50% humidity in there. Some may get cold, so there are thermal blankets provided on the back of your chair. I sat right by the trickling mini waterfall, so that was really nice! There has been research proven of the therapeutic values of experiencing a salt cave (treating respiratory illnesses, heart/cardio-vascular diseases, and/or vegetative nervous system malfunctions). Both my husband and I fell asleep and started snoring! AHAHA! There are only 8 recliners in there, so you do share the space with others who have reserved the same time as you. No talking or cell phones are allowed during the session so you have a peaceful session (aside from the snoring :P You reserve your spot by just giving them a call, and the friendly receptionist will ask you your preferred times/availability. You also need to arrive 10 minutes beforehand so that your session starts at the hour, on the dot (or you lose your space!). Today is January 23rd and I called around 2:55 PM to make a reservation at the Salt Spa for four people. The woman on the phone was extremely rude, impatient and a little combative. I completely understand that all reservations have to be made through the phone due to COVID however, the request for each guest's First and Last Name, Phone Number, Wireless Provider (huh?), and email address causes too much space for confusion. As I was providing my details, the woman was reading one of the emails back and she was incorrect. Upon correcting her, she stated "thats what I said the first time" which I find to be completely inappropriate. I attempted to move past this and continue the reservation however, with the need for each guest's information the surprise I was planning would have been ruined. I inquired if we could complete the paperwork upon arrival and she informed me in a condescending tone "You're more than welcome to as long as you arrive 15 minutes prior and if you understand that then its fine." I ended up not completing the reservation as I would rather take my business elsewhere. Shame as I was really hoping for a great girls weekend with my mother but I will not stand to be disrespected. read more

Even though we are not from there, I am going to make an effort to visit EACH time, we are in the Williamsburg area. I went with an open heart though my heart was heavy when I checked in for my appointment in the salt cave and felt rejuvinated and refreshed. I felt drowsy while in there because of how relaxing it was. We plan on visiting the area within the next week and I am booking my whole family an appointment while we are there. I bought SEVERAL items while there including several soaps, totes of salt, salt foot detox pads, and salt air inhaler. I cannot find anything like those items locally here in NY so I will need to stock back up when we return there! read more

I had the 60 minute stone massage and enjoyed it very much. However, I think it's a tad pricey for the area. The salt cave was ok. "Relaxed" for 45 minutes in a man made salt cave in basically a beach chaise lounger. The atmosphere in the cave was nice and nice relaxing music, but you're in with about 8 other people and unfortunately during my time, a gentleman feel asleep and proceeded to snore. You can get ear plugs if you want but I had them and it didn't help at all. My suggestion would be to give people earphones with the music pumped in or let them bring their own and listen to the music (maybe blue tooth) so you don't hear everything around you. That would've made my review higher. I probably would go back for the massages but not very impressed with the salt cave. read more

The salt cave was a calm and soothing experience. The "salt cave" environment was really cool and I wanted to decorate a room in my own home similar to it! My husband had no problem falling asleep. I had to poke him a fe times to stop snoring so as not to disturb the others. I don't know if once is enough to really feel any health benefits but I would definitely recommend it to meditate and relax from the hectic pace. Staff were friendly and nice.
