*note: good covid precautions (if you're someone who is very concerned with that this is the place...) they don't allow customers to touch anything and they have big splash shields around the pedicure stations and everyone is required to mask and wash hands*... Tracy did a great job with my pedicure. I can be difficult with specifics about my service and she did everything right. I plan to come back and request her specifically. The one reason for 4 stars was the greeting from reception; she wasn't very polite and said to me "can you wash your hands... use soap"... like I don't know to use soap? It rubbed me the wrong way. Other than that though will return. Standard pedicure was $32 which is fair for this area and they were able to get us in on a Sunday which was nice. read more

I've been going here for years for my pedicures and brow waxing. The massage chairs are an added bonus and it's nice that every customer is offered a drink (water or soda). So I have been to some pretty aesthetically pleasing places before and although VIP nails may look like a regular nail salon from the outside they were exceptional! The covid precautions they take are immaculate. For starters, they take your temp outdoors before letting you in, sanitize your belongings, have you wash hands, and use a glove when picking out polish. For manicures and pedicures you are in an enclosed area! They have some sort of plexi glass barrier for each station. Pretty impressive. I highly recommend this place. Tammy took her time on my toes ensuring any slight appearance or feel of ingrowns were taking care of. She always asked me if I was ok or feeling pain - thank you Tammy! She did wonderful on my nails. Im so so happy with them. Usually technicians seem to rush as the place gets busier but Tammy took her time making sure everything was perfect. Excellent nail salon. Highest standard regarding covid precaution and all staff are fully vacinated. All the nail technicians are very knowledgeable and very friendly. They take their time and make sure that you are 100% satisfied before you leave. I have been going here since they opened many years ago, I have weathered all the owners. Current owner is the best! This is the best nail salon I've ever been to for so many reasons. The owners and staff are absolutely wonderful, they have great safety/COVID protocols in place, and my nails look phenomenal! Recently the owner Bob helped me set up a group appointment for me and my bridesmaids, and it was such a blast! DO NOT USE ONLINE BOOKING FOR SERVICES ON THE SAME DAY. I was visiting a friend of mine who recently had surgery and decided that we would go to VIP Nails for spa pedicures with hot stone massage. I used their online system which was difficult to navigate. When we arrived at the salon, the receptionist repeatedly told us to wash our hands even though we were there for a pedicure. The technician did not seem to understand what service we were there for. I received a decent pedicure but had to ask for the hot stone massage. My friend was left in the chair while I received a pedicure and the massage I had to ask for with no attention from any technician. Attempts to communicate with staff were spotty at best and eventually a second technician came to take care of my friend's pedicure without the hot stone massage "since we didn't book it correctly in the first place." Both technicians did a good job on our feet but there was little to no attempt to rectify the booking issue. If they couldn't not accommodate us then someone should have said something from the beginning of the appointment. Also having someone look at their process for online booking to simplify it further so there is no misunderstanding is suggested. read more

I've had to change to nail techs around the area because Paula while she is good at shape she is unable to do designs. After my last visit I will not be going back as it has not even been a week and the gel polish on my acrylic nails continues to chip off and I had to glue a nail back together. I went in, this was a Tuesday evening around 6:30pm and the Salon was quite busy for a Tuesday evening in my opinion. I waited for about 5/10 minutes and was tended to by MiMi, she was amazing! Before leaving for vacation my friend wanted to get together with me. I said why don't we get pedicures. Of course she was up for this and I said I would take care of finding a place and getting appointments. Upon booking my appointment here for a Sunday afternoon the lady I spoke to on the phone seemed confused or there was some sort of miscommunication issue about if I had an appointment or not. I was happy to find out that when we showed up our appointment was held for two people. Besides that issue above, we had the best service I have received at a nail place. Both techs work fast but also were very detailed. No polish on our skin and the color looked great. Because we spent a certain amount we even received a free gift! This was my first visit to VIP Nails as I recently relocated here from FL. This salon's safety measures are on point. I called to make an appointment and was able to be serviced the same day. There was a sign outside asking you to wait there. The receptionist came outside and asked a few questions about whether I had traveled recently to certain areas then she scanned my Corey for my temperature. Upon entering the salon I was asked to wash my hands then asked if I would be using my phone (if so it would be sanitized). A disposable glove was placed on my hand before I could choose a nail polish color. It so happened that I brought my own polish. Anh worked on my pedicure and gel manicure. She was attentive, careful and gentle with my feet upon my telling her I was diabetic and didn't want my cuticles cut. I was very pleased with my services and will definitely be returning. read more

She's absolutely great and has the ability of speaking English fluently. So she is fully capable of understanding your needs. She already knows what shape I like so I don't even have to tell her anything. She's really popular so her schedule fills up quickly. I recommend making an appointment beforehand. This Herndon location is very convenient and clean. You wat til someone comes to the door, they take your temperature, you are directed to wash your hands thoroughly and place your items (cell phone and reading glasses) in a small bin to be sanitized. Next, the technician seats you at the pedicure area and makes sure you're comfortable. Usually, Mary works on my for a gel spa manicure and pedicure which I recommend for the best treatment everrrr. This time Chi worked on my manicure and pedicure. I had the basic and wanted my cuticles removed and softened. I give my nails a break once a year to have a rest before the summer, Chi gave an amazing & relaxing foot massage along with my treatment and then added nail hardener to finish. I will be back. Also, the techs accept Venmo for tips, which is easier for me. They Manager is informative and helpful with all customers and they have new spring colors that arrived, too.
