They will last a month! Sometimes dip is too thick but this thin layer was amazing. She did dip red nails and then a layer of chrome shellac on top. My new favorite nail place. Really consistently good quality and experience every time. Compared to other nail places and what's included the price is very reasonable. I've received good recommendations several times from my manicurist on colors and selection when I get brain overload from all the choices. Just an update - I have been coming here once a month for years now. My dip manicure lasts 4 weeks (until they grow out!) and my gel pedicure lasts almost two months! Price went up a bit - for both, it's $106 now. Every single time I come, it's exactly the same amazing set of women who work here - most are sisters, or related somehow. I feel like it's family! I just had my sparkly "Christmas nails done." Everyone here is great and you can't go wrong here. Call for a reservation though, to ensure you have a good experience. Hygiene: For COVID-19 protocols, they all went through special training on cleaning and every station have plexiglass shields, including the pedicure stations. Everyone wears a mask (including the clients) and they take temperatures when you come into the door. Don't be afraid to come back again! read more

I was driving home today and needed to find a convenient location for a quick mani/pedi. I found this little gem of a place totally randomly and let me tell you it didn't disappoint. Mai and Linn (if I'm spelling right) provided basic mani/pedi for me. They were thorough and very hygienic in every step of the process. Their attitude was a breath of fresh air. I felt the interaction was so genuinely warm. They didn't get upset/impatient with me when I by accident smeared my fresh mani which required fixing twice. Nail quality: Fantastic technique and quality. My gel manicure lasted for over 3 weeks and pedicure over a month (and still looking nice except for my nails outgrown), for the same pricing ($65) as elsewhere. Great selection of color, they found a beige I had been looking for. Customer service: Lisa, the nail technician who helped me was friendly and again, skilled. My nails looked smooth and polished. I'm not the easiest with color and Lisa was patient with me. I didn't realize they close at 5:00 pm on the weekends but they still took my appointment at 4:15 pm and finished the job with no rushing me whatsoever. The location is a little tucked in but super convenient off of Herndon Parkway. Overall a great experience, definitely my new go-to salon. read more

They have all the shields up on the manicure and pedicure stations and have a very sanitary process when treating your fingers and toes! You have to wash your hands as soon as you come in after your temperature is scanned. Hollie does my manicure and pedicure and she's wonderful! Lok does an amazing job on waxing! Quickly becoming my happy place after just three visits! I got the spa pedicure for $55 yesterday and felt SO relaxed afterwards! I appreciate how they set a timer for the massage part (15 mins). The staff all clearly like each other, but it's a quiet atmosphere, perfect for my introverted nature! The soft pop music is just right, and the setting is clean and not crowded. And the quality! I got a gel manicure last month and it lasted longer than any I've ever had. Normally with gel I'll eventually get a few big chips, but this one stayed impeccable for weeks and weeks, until the nails had just grown too much to keep it. I love the dependability of knowing I will get a quality gel manicure that will last 3-4 weeks, the friendliness of all the staff and the relaxing nature of the treatments. I love Mai's work but I've never been disappointed with Lorna or Lisa. My husband doesn't have a favorite manicurist but has appreciated Hannah's careful treatment. He feels comfortable in the big leather chairs and likes laughing & chatting with all the staff. He's felt so accepted that he's popped in on his own before a big interview. I have been going to VIP for a few years now. I kept my pedicure up all summer long with them and even took my bridal party there last year, but after my experience there yesterday I will not be returning. My mother and I went to VIP for Pedicures, we had been planning the trip for a week and finally had time to go. One of our favorite things about VIP is that they keep a little box with your nail files in them so you always use your own. But on this trip when I found my box and sat down my mom could not find hers. They told her to sit down and they asked her to spell her name. she spelled it 4 times and while my mom was choosing her nail color the lady said "I found it" and returned with what looked like a new box. The white label on it was blank. I figured they had not found it and had decided to get a new box for her so I did not say anything. When we were almost done my mom asked to see her box because she wanted to draw a star or flower on it to make is easier to spot the next time we came. That's when we realized that the lady had been using tools from someone else's box! There was a name on the other end of the box and she had just slapped a new label on the opposite end and hoped no one would notice. As you can imagine we were very angry. Heaven forbid my mother get nail fungus because they were too proud to tell her that her box was missing. So I paid for my pedicure which was fine but we told them that my mom would not be paying for their mistake. They insisted that we pay and that they would call the police. The lady who had done her nails said that she was sorry but that my mother had to pay. Eventually they just took the polish off my mother and we left when they told us to never come back. It was some of the worst customer service I have ever witnessed. Please do not come here. Loyalty means nothing to them. read more

I went here because my friend recommended them for waxing. First of all, we had to wait around 45 minutes to even get seen. My friend had never had this "technician" so we didn't know what to expect. I don't know if the people that work there are actually trained to wax - they were all doing nails and we had to wait for one of them to finish a manicure to come over. I had been planning to wax my underarms and legs for the first time, but only got underams. I had been growing my hair out for a little over a week so was worried it wouldn't be enough hair. The first strip being pulled off hurt, but I didn't cry out. The rest of my arm pit hurt so bad and my friend kept saying "please be gentle!" so I looked down and I was BLEEDING. She reached over me (dragging strings of wax through my hair and across my face) to do my other arm which still hurt a lot but didn't bleed. She said that it hurt because I was sensitive, it was my first time, it was because I had a lot of hair, blah blah blah. My skin isn't sensitive, I got my eyebrows waxed for 10 years with absolutely no pain. The worst part - she didn't tell me I had to tip before she ran my card & I didn't have cash. So then she says "how much you gonna give me" over and over while I stare at the $16 receipt in horror and the manager behind her just goes "don't worry about it". He knew it was my first time being there and doing waxing - when I came out he had asked me how it was and I had just shaken my head at him with wide eyes muttering "no...no..." read more

I was shocked by the attitudes of the individuals who work at this establishment. I recently visited this salon for a pedicure and Shellac manicure. When my manicure started chipping less than a week later, I returned to have it mended and was was told I would have to wait 30 minutes just for someone to wrap my 3 chipped nails to soak off the polish or come back another day. I asked repeatedly what time the business opened in the morning to return and was told that they would be "busy"...at 10am on a weekday. When I did return the technician simply filled in the chipped areas by painting over them rather than repainting the nail as a unit then charged me $5 to do so (needless to say they chipped again the next day). I got no answer when I asked did they not guarantee Shellac manicures for 2 weeks, thinking to myself why am I paying to have something poorly fixed that I've already paid (and tipped) to have done? Throughout every encounter I was polite and patient, despite the standoffish demeanor I got in return. I paid and left and will not be returning because never have I been met with worse customer service at a nail salon. If you're looking for quality work and great customer service, keep looking because as the client I felt that I wasn't listened to nor was my satisfaction of any value here. read more

This salon has active COVID measures in place and I feel very safe. I have been a client for several years. The service is solid and the price is great. They work hard to support loyal customers. That said, you must book in advance. COVID has prevented walk in business. This salon did not support it prior to COVID. Many of the negative reviews for this business revolve around not being supported as a walk-in, so keep this in mind. I've been going here for about three years. After reading the two previous reviews, I felt it necessary to post a positive review. I really enjoy the experience and think the prices are reasonable. I get the gel polish and pedicure on a regular basis. Included with the basic mani or pedi is a parafin wax treatment. Most salons charge extra. The gel last two to three weeks and my pedicures last until I decide to remove the polish. They have a fair amount of polish colors for both the normal and gel polish. It's pretty easy to match a polish for your pedicure to the gel color selected. I've seen a few men in the salon from time to time, and they seem very comfortable with the level of service. The atmosphere is quiet, which is relaxing. There isn't much conversation, but I think that is in keeping with the calm spa like feel. There is typically soft music playing. If you happen to be there after work hours they usually have the evening news showing on the flat screen TVs (I believe there are three in the salaon) As with any salon, there are differences in the skill set and technique for each employee. Also, I've been pressured to pay by check instead of a credit card and to make the check out to cash which is shady. Despite the negative reviews, I have to say that I had an average experience here. Service: Called 10-mins before to make sure I could see someone as soon as I got there. They said yes. I went. I was immediately greeted at the door by a tech and she told me to select my polish. Nail time: I had to strip off my gel polish before I got my new polish on. When she was filing down the top layer to break off the topcoat, she was a bit rough and it caused a sharp burning sensation on my finger. When the acetone foils came around, my fingers were burning (especially since they were soaking for ~7-10 mins, which is longer than what I usually have) because my nails had some exposed skin from the winter dry weather. The OPI gel curing machine also made my fingernails, themselves, burn every time i put them in the machine. She said that it should just be warm, but I had to pull them out several times because i felt them rapidly heating up. The hand massage could of been a bit more. The pressure was very light and i wasn't too satisfied after a long day at work. The polish job itself was fine. It was a bit faster than I am used to, but that's okay because my nails look fine. She paid particular attention to the color and made sure it didn't get on my skin. When I was ready to pay, she had another tech look at my nails to make sure that it was ready to go. The ladies were nice and gave me a diet coke for me to drink while I was being serviced. I will consider this place in the future when I need to get my nails done around work, but did not fall in love with it. read more

VIP = "Very Irritating People" I'm only giving 2 starts b/c they do keep up with the latest products but they do not bother to learn how to apply them correctly. I have been to this place several times and have had an issue almost every time. They take appointments but never keep them and have no problem asking you to wait until they're done with someone w/o an appointment. I have seen people with appointments wait over 30 mins! Also they're services are overpriced and the results are so so. They remove the labels from the nail polish jars, so that you don't know the name of the color in hope that if you really like the color you will purchase it from them. How tacky?! Also I would never get any sort of waxing done at VIP Nails, they use the same stick to wax everyone. YUCK! Do not waste your money or risk your health. read more

Horrendous. I've been here several times because I live very close by. The women who work here are so incredibly rude and nasty and they don't even do a good job. They also argue with you when you tell them your Mani preferences (hint: the customer is always right). I get gel manis only. They rush through the mani and don't properly prep, clean, or polish your nails, which results in the gel lifting and peeling off after only 2-3 days. It's happened to me on many many times with this place. They also NEVER match the brand of the gel base/top coats to the brand of gel polish color. This is SUCH a bad practice. Each brand makes a whole line of gel base/top/color polishes with formulas that are chemically designed to work together. By cross contaminating brands between coats, these women are effectively ruining your mani and guaranteeing it won't last the 2 weeks it should. And then when you ask them to use the correct combination of coats from a matching brand, they argue with you, tell you you're wrong, and refuse to listen. These women are so unpleasant to deal with. They've cut me on several occasions and filed my nails so thin with the electric filer that it actually burned my fingers and hurt. They also scraped my nails so aggressively taking off my gel polish that they literally destroyed my nails and it's taken months for them to finally grow back in healthy. They literally ruined my nails right before my wedding, which was devastating. They ALL broke super short and were literally peeling in layers from all the damage this place did to my nails. And did I mention how nasty and rude they all are? Just stay away. read more
