Terrible experience. Asked for pedi and mani. They started the water for the pedi and had me put my feet in which then turned cold because I waited over 25 minutes before someone even started on me. I was told "oh 5-10 minutes almost done". As she finished my pedi, I asked which seat should I move to for my mani. She then told me that she wouldn't be able to do the mani because she had appointments. She never said that whatsoever. I would not have have waited that long in the first place. Instead of trying to work something out, she moved my belongings over to the section where you dry your feet. This was beyond rude. They did not even offer up someone else to start on it. Well this is unfortunate. I've been going here for two years - for regular mani/pedi and gel mani's. They're the most reasonably priced in the area, however I ALWAYS knew you get what you pay for. Because I just had the worst experience at so-called Perfect Nails. I went in for a gel manicure last week. After 7 days my nails looked horrible and had already started to peel. Gel manicures, for those that don't know, are supposed to last at least 2 weeks and cost twice as much as a regular manicure. In the past, when I've had a gel manicure this hadn't happened. So I went in and showed them, hoping for a quick and easy fix. Being a regular there I thought they'd be reasonable and see how unfortunate the situation was. Yikes, was I proven wrong. What can't be described any other way but a sh*tshow of multiple women basically disregarding what I was telling them, and talking amongst themselves in Vietnamese as if I was a nuisance, analyzing my nails over and over - practically with a magnifying glass - they concluded that I didn't have any 'chips' in my nails, therefore they weren't responsible. I was shocked! I didn't want a do-over, I just wanted them to fix the bad nails so I could be on my way. It's just nails, people! Acknowledge it must have been bad luck, apologize, then put on a fresh coat. In what world would I take the time out of my work day to try to rip them off (which is what they were implying). I was essentially accused of trying to pull one over on them, and dismissed. I've been going here for two years. I was an extremely loyal customer. Not anymore! Had a scary experience here. I saw the bad reviews and chose to ignore it because I figured they could have just been difficult clients. The man who did my nails was so rude that I started to feel afraid especially being the only client in there. He messed up at one point and loudly yelled "f*ck" and hit his filer against the table in front of me. He only put on one layer and when I asked for a second, he said "No I'm done that's it". At one point, he left to go smoke. Overall, I don't recommend. Lesson learned. read more

I discovered Perfect Nails through Yelp. I wanted to test out a gel manicure (where they use a special polish and between each layer, a UV light is used to harden the polish, its very natural feeling.) Kathy did my nails, she was friendly, very careful and purposeful in her painting. When I wasn't happy with the color I chose she let me change it. Cost $30. The gel manicure is supposed to last 3 weeks and be more chip resistant than a regular manicure. If its true, then I'm definitely doing this again! read more

This salon is pretty clean and the price is unbeatable however the experience every time I go here is awful. They are very unprofessional. The entire staff/techs are yelling across the room to one another laughing and gossiping in Vietnamese (I recorded it for translation) I feel like they don't even want you here. The manager took 2 hours on my nails because she was fulfilling other duties in the salon and interrupted my service each time I only come here because it's so close to me and they take the other techs really do take there time and they accept walk ins but I'm not sure if it's with it. This should feel therapeutic not be giving people a headache. read more

Best gel I've gotten so far. The gel color selection is amazing! You tell them what you want and they do a great job doing just that. Didn't have to tell my lady once about fixing anything and they made sure it was done how you wanted. Very nice, clean place and they're accommodating with last minute appointments. Not sure about the acrylic work but gel, mani and pedi is amazing. If you're worried about your nails looking grown out, tell them to paint all the way to the cuticle and not leave a space...otherwise it looks like your nails are a week old. read more

My first experience here wasn't good but the way the owner handled the situation has made me come back every time to get my nails done no more waxing though lol The very first time I came to this salon, I came to get my upper lip waxed and unfortunately had a bad experience. I was was burned by the hot wax and a day later had a burnt upper lip where later it scarred. Right after I was set with the wax I felt a burning sensation but was told it was normal, even though usually get my upper lip waxed or threaded. The thing is more than enough wax was applied to my upper lip where it had not been cooled down enough Of course being very upset and frustrated with the amount of wax applied to my upper lip I decided to come back to show the woman who had did my waxing on what happened and how did this happen if it never happened before read more

Perfect Nails is open early until late--even until 6 p.m. on Sunday during the winter when darker days and colder weather pervade. For this reason alone, I am a huge fan. A certified (or maybe certifiable ) procrastinator, I found myself at 5 pm on a Sunday in dire need of a manicure. My usual salon was closed and I needed to find something in a hurry. YELP to the rescue. Within minutes I was able to identify a reputable and (most importantly) open salon recommended by vox populi. Perfect Nails of Herndon is not a fancy salon and it is located in a run down strip mall. However, my technician provided friendly, competent service, delivering a lovely French shellac manicure in about 30 minutes for $35. I was a little disappointed that we soaked in water instead of lotion to soften cuticles, but at 6 pm on a Sunday, I had little to complain about:-). read more

Momma and I have been going to Perfect Nails to get our nails did for the past 7 years. So, perhaps it's about time for a review. Perfect nails is located in the same shopping center as the Bestway on Elden street, across from Angeethi in Herndon. It's on the right side of the plaza in you're facing the front of Bestway. There is plenty of parking in the lot. Yes, this shopping center is a bit shady looking, but listen, I'm a slight-moderate germaphobe - I would not be coming here if it was dirty. I watch Oprah and Dateline NBC, I've heard about the foot fungi one can get from unhygienic nail salons, but I've never been concerned when I've come here. The salon is open normal salon hours, I'm not sure exactly what they are, but I would call if you think you might be cutting it close. They accept walk in's but if you want someone specific your best bet is to book an appointment. Speaking of wanting someone specific I can only vouch for a handful of these lovely nail technicians. Momma and I will only go to Tina, Mai, and Trish. This is another one of those joints that my whole family frequent though, (brothers and father too), and my sister in laws both like Cindy. Tina is the owner of the salon and I only go to someone else when she's not there for the day. That being said she doesn't always take everyone, so don't be offended if she passes you off to someone else. She only takes me because we've been going there forever. I always go for the same thing, mani/pedi combo which runs $30.00. Yup, you read that read, a manicure AND a pedicure for $30.00 in Northern, VA. Most places in the area charge $25 or $30 for just a pedicure, but not here. The treatment usually takes about 1 hour - 1 hour and 15 minutes, depending on how long the massage goes on for. They have quite an extensive selection of nail polish colors and they can do designs and all that jazz. Pedicure chairs are very comfy and the TV is always playing Lifetime movies. The ladies are all very friendly, although I will warn the level of English varies greatly. Appointments are not always taken on time, but they're usually not very late. I can only vouch for the mani/pedi service over here. I have gotten a full set and a fill before, but that was so long ago I don't even remember how it was. All in all I love this place, love the service I receive when coming here, and you can't beat the price in the area. So I'm giving it a two because they only have 3 techs on a Monday evening , waited for 1:30 for my pedicure because I was to tire to keep driving this location is actually a 20 min drive away from home . I just come because they clean my toes very well other than that it's not calming at all the techs don't even say hi to you or greet you . The chairs for waiting are so Awkward I literally waited outside . The tip portion cash only it would be great if it was optional the pedi was $ 22.00 which I drove for but I would rather save me the gas now and go up the street for $25.00 I walked out of this place at 8;45 pm when o arrived at 7:00 pm never again if I didn't need it I would of walked out . Alright so having naturally funky eyebrows comes along with being Indian unfortunately. So when it got to the point where I could barely see through them, I knew I was due for a waxing. I stumbled upon this place since it's so close to my work and figured I would give them a try. It was around 1:30pm on a Friday and they weren't super busy, so they were able to take me right away. I don't know why, but those waxing rooms always make me feel so uncomfortable with the white padded bed thing and the smell of rubbing alcohol. But the lady (I'm sorry I don't remember her name) made me feel at ease and was very nice. I always give props to places who make sure every little stray hair is removed and really take their time. She took like a full 10 min waxing my eyebrows, which is like 2 hours in salon time. She neatly trimmed, waxed, and tweezed to perfection. I walked out of there looking brand spankin' new for only $8. Only reason I knock off a star is because it HURT. I like when salons wax little by little each section of your eyebrow so it doesn't feel like they're ripping you whole face off, but she didn't do that. Plus she ripped the strips off kinda slow, so it made that pain really sink in :( But overall, great job and I'll definitely return. read more

I have been coming to this shop for over 10 years regilously every 2-3 weeks and now even my daughter started going here. All the ladies are wonderful and friendly and do great job. I've had many times where I messed up the color days later and I called and come in and they would fix it no questions asked. I suggest to call ahead and make appointment as they are very busy. Cheap, but you get what you pay for. Chose this place last minute as a place to go after work to avoid rush hour. Had to wait a while even though I made an appointment. Got a shellac manicure and pedicure. They use CND shellac, and the manicure lasted 2 weeks. For regular polish, they have a poor selection, with a lot of China Glaze, a few (old looking) OPIs, and no Essie. I didn't really see them cleaning the pedicure tubs between customers, and I got an ingrown after because the nail cutting was not done correctly. I won't be returning. read more

Prices very reasonable. I came here to get my gel nails off though... and they told me it would take about a half an hour of soaking. Well, a half an hour turned into an hour and a half ordeal and by the time my nails had soaked in chemical acetone for a good hour and 15 minutes (and they still didn't really come off easily, had to be yanked off) the real nails I had tried to so hard to grow underneath were now paper thin and all broke off within 3 days. The acetone also wrecked havoc on the skin around my nails and caused all the awful cuticles to come back so now my nails look like shit again. This place is really busy and popular so they are probably fine for manicures and getting nails on, just not taking them off! read more

I've never seen this place not packed! I've gotten mani/pedis done many times and I always have to wait, even if I have an appointment. The wait and the crowds are the only cons I see. The prices are good and my nails always look great when I leave. There is also a lot of options in polishes to choose from. I started going to perfect nails based on yelp reviews. I am very very picky and perfect nails has managed to please me. I get my eyebrows waxed and Cindy does a great job. She even took the time to help one of my eyebrows grow in because it had been overplucked by a local eyebrow threader. My shellac mani always last at least 2 weeks (Cindy does my nails as well) and in northern va. You can't beat there reasonable prices. Now, if your looking for a place that is pleasing to the eyes....keep moving!! It's nothing beautiful, as a matter of fact, I hold my bag a little closer, and walk a little faster when going in and out of the salon. I won't their today and they basically told me to wait and I did for about 20 minutes when I noticed no one was paying me any mind even though their was available techs. Any who's I left & decided to try this perfect nails by Bestway . Lynnh asked me what I wanted and I explained to her that I wanted a specific shape and length and did not want uneven nails or chunky fat nails seeing as my hands are small. She took her time and even replicated the color I wanted. I can say she did EXACTLY what I wanted and took her time despite it being a busy Saturday morning. Full disclosure - Ultimately, I did not have any services at this salon, so I cannot in good faith review the actual work they might have done. They did do my daughter and my friend and while there wasn't anything spectacular, their nails were indeed painted. So, perhaps that's why this establishment has such high reviews (I'm not sure what standard was used), which is what led us here in the first place, but aside from the price, which might be a few dollars cheaper than another salon in the immediate area that I frequent, the overall environment and customer service experience was so bad, that I wouldn't go there again. First of all, it is in a sketchy strip mall, back in the corner. I'm not afraid of sketchy strip malls. We walked in and after sitting there for over an hour, I realized that there was what appeared to be a reception desk - but you had to lean over the nail drying island to get to it. The nail drying island serves as a sort of desk. The floor was filthy, which made me wonder if they cleaned anything else. Overall, my impression was that it was used equipment, thrown in a vacated store - kind of temporary looking. So they take my friend and my daughter back to the pedi chairs. I was left up front, a little confused. There were employees sitting in the "reception desk" but nobody offered to take me back. OHHHH, but I couldn't go back because instead of a paying customer in the pedi seat close to my friend and my daughter, there was a boyfriend or some other male companion taking up a seat - naturally, nobody asked him to move. I mean, if I could have just sat down near my people with a foot spa on and a magazine, I would have been fine or even started my manicure and then moved me back to the pedi chair a little later. Nope. No luck. Oh - and nobody cared much either. Not even when the lady doing my daughter's toes asked my friend about cuticles, manicure etc. and my friend kept explaining that they needed to ask her mother (me) and she has been sitting at the front of the store for about 45 mins. They couldn't grasp that she wasn't my daughter's mother. For the record, they look absolutely nothing alike and my daughter is a mini version of me. It's hard to make that mistake. So, my friend texted me and she answered on my behalf. Anyway, more time goes by, they are finishing up and finally, someone asks me to come back. I just said no thank you. They are almost finished, there's no point in me making them wait on me. Suddenly, there was a flurry of squawking and scandal. Apparently, although I couldn't understand what they were saying, I had done something wrong. The best part? It kept on going. My daughter's technician asked me no less than 10 times why I wasn't getting a pedicure? I explained to her over and over and over again and each time I explained, there was this whirlwind of loud squawking - I assume it was about me. My friend said that they were making fun of us. Whatever - my opinion is that it's a cheap, dirty place with lousy customer service. The price might be lower, but I feel that this is a classic case of you get what you pay for. I'm happy to pay a couple of extra bucks and have a nice, relaxing experience, with nice, respectful people, not smell like chinese food and has a little organization. Like the others $30 mani and pedi, yes sir! I tend to go on days when it is raining or drab and I have never had to wait. On today's visit, rainy day, I was surprised that I was the only one for quite some time. Maybe an hour or before I saw another client. Service was the usual, nothing fancy just down to business. The last time I was here it lasted three weeks including two 16 hour road trips and a multiple visits to water parks. I shall be returning in another two to three weeks on another cloudy or rainy day. read more

Ok let me first say the ladies are super nice. But this place is ridiculously dirty. I mean they use barbicide that is not disinfecting anything because it's evaporated and just...gross. I'm pretty sure they don't clean on the regular, there is gunk on every station. Overall, it's cheap but that's probably why. I have been going there for about a year. It can be very busy especially on Saturday. Tina is the owner and she does a great job w gel. I have had to wait sometimes even with an appointment but if you aren't in a hurry the value is excellent. They do talk to each other in Vietnamese which can get to you but hey if the situation was reversed I probably would do that too. read more
