I really LOVED my nails at this spot. Jenny is very detailed and does great nail art. She's also very kind!!! I would highly recommend her and I'll be coming back to her anytime I want my nails done for a special occasion. I got this particular nails done for my bridal shower. It was liquid gel on my natural nails. I had three nail tips on that kinda got a little cracked and she was able to fix them by filling them in with the liquid gel. Love love love my nails! I got these done 07/29 and the nails are still going strong and don't look super grown out. Only one nail has broken, but the others still have all the little intricate gems and designs intact. It's not the fanciest place. If you're looking for a spa day like feel you won't get that here, but if you want your nails and toes to look BEAUTIFUL, you come here. The salon is clean and there is always someone walking around putting things away. Customer service is great, the girl who always works the front is so friendly and helpful. I've never felt rushed and they've always been accommodating if I'm in a time crunch. I like the modern, but instrumental music, and I've saved recipes from the cooking shows from Bon Appétit that they play. Got a mani/pedi today for a wedding and it felt rushed, not relaxing. I was also informed of a policy change during my pedi. They are now charging if you want the callous grater on your feet ($5 extra); otherwise, as I just experienced, I got a weak rub against a pumice stone. Even if I bring my own or bring my own callous razor, there's a charge. Very disappointing. I've been getting pedis since high school, and I've never been charged extra for filing or shaving. I purposely selected VIP Nails years ago when I discovered them because they used these as part of their standard pedicures (some salons only do pumice). Pre-pandemic, they offered drinks and a little piece of chocolate; they even had free gifts at the drying station of hair care products, lotions, and makeup. Drinks are now being offered again, but the other little added touches are gone for good. Might be on the hunt for a new shop if callous removal is limited to a weak pumice stone. read more

I contacted this salon about a week ago for a gel pedi, they quoted me $60 over the phone. I showed up and right before she started my pedi I asked again how much is the gel pedi and she said $60. The pedi style wasn't what i asked for... even though I asked for a simple French tip, I thought its ok and at the end went up to pay only to be told my total is $90.... I was so confused and asked how it came out to $90 when I was told it was $60 several times... and I was told because I asked for a French tip pedi! UNREAL. I was so confused and shocked.... $30 EXTRA for French tip??????? And as if that wasn't bad enough... this is my nail (toe) today. Damaged with the gel coming off. She completely destroyed my nail. I had an overnight layover at IAD before I leave for vacation. I was so excited that VIP nails could get me in for a same day mani pedi. My experience in the shop was nice enough, but the 2 stars are for poor quality nail polish. My gel mani was done 3 days ago. On day 2 it was already chipping on the tips and the next day the polish was coming off entire nails. See pictures. I suggest avoiding the gel polish in the box and going with the OPI gel instead. So disappointed that I am on vacation with these messed up nails. read more

I switched nail techs because Twee is hard to book with. I switched to Katie, and she destroyed my natural nails. I have deep ridges in the natural nails now and a lot of damage from her drilling while "tidying" the edging during an acrylic fill. I've been searching for a nail salon for months after my last tech moved out of state. I found VIP Nails on Google and after reading several reviews felt like it was worth a shot. I booked my appointment with Hannah. The salon is easy to find and had lots of appointment times available. I knew I wanted extensions but not acrylic (I'm trying to be kind to my nails in this cold weather) so I booked for Gel-X with gel removal (gel from another salon). Upon arrival I was asked to wash my hands and pick a color. Having never done anything other than acrylic or gel I wasn't sure what to expect. I sat down with Hannah and explained what I wanted (extensions on 7 out of 10 nails and the remaining 3 left short - IYKYK). Originally we were going to do Gel-X but Hannah felt it would be better to do dip, so we dipped the 7 nails. I trusted her judgement and had already told her I work a lot with my hands. I chose a color that was almost holographic and Hanna felt it would look better with a second holographic color (not cat eye) and she was right! The additional color made the nails so much better. She also freehanded roses on each finger. So much talent! I was not disappointed. I feel like I've found my new salon and nail tech! Can't wait to see what the pedicure will be like! read more

I came in today wanting to find a new salon to go to in the area since I'm from Reston. Originally I wanted French nails but Tiffanie used yellow tips instead of clear ones under an opaque nail color.. Had to get it removed because it's not aesthetically pleasing to see the nail extension and glue underneath the polish. Requested it to be all white. Thought it would be easier to do. I dunno how many times she started all over again bc it was too patchy or bubbling.. I kept telling her that the nails are uneven and she said that it's because I "wanted to change from an opaque color to white." Be forreal. Such a waste of money and time coming here. read more

As an update to my last review, I would not recommend this place for natural nails. The tech used some kind of drill on my cuticle area and by the next day the skin on that finger started peeling and shredding. It was very painful. I've never had a tech use that kind of tool on my natural nails before. Whatever that tool was, it caused my skin to shred and peel. Very painful. Took at least a week to resolve. Probably a fine place if you are doing acrylic or other things. But I did not have a good experience as a natural nail girl! read more
