I contacted this salon about a week ago for a gel pedi, they quoted me $60 over the phone. I showed up and right before she started my pedi I asked again how much is the gel pedi and she said $60. The pedi style wasn't what i asked for... even though I asked for a simple French tip, I thought its ok and at the end went up to pay only to be told my total is $90.... I was so confused and asked how it came out to $90 when I was told it was $60 several times... and I was told because I asked for a French tip pedi! UNREAL. I was so confused and shocked.... $30 EXTRA for French tip??????? And as if that wasn't bad enough... this is my nail (toe) today. Damaged with the gel coming off. She completely destroyed my nail. TERRIBLE place

I've been a regular at VIP Nails for quite some time now. I usually make my appointments with Twee (she's wonderful and extremely thorough!!!) but since Twee wasn't available, I booked with Lily. Lily did some Christmas designs for me and was so attentive with what I wanted. She's absolutely sweet, detailed, quick, and does an amazing job with your nails. I feel you can't go wrong with any of the staff here. Both Lily and Twee will be my now go to's :)

Got a mani/pedi today for a wedding and it felt rushed, not relaxing. I was also informed of a policy change during my pedi. They are now charging if you want the callous grater on your feet ($5 extra); otherwise, as I just experienced, I got a weak rub against a pumice stone. Even if I bring my own or bring my own callous razor, there's a charge. Very disappointing. I've been getting pedis since high school, and I've never been charged extra for filing or shaving. I purposely selected VIP Nails years ago when I discovered them because they used these as part of their standard pedicures (some salons only do pumice). Pre-pandemic, they offered drinks and a little piece of chocolate; they even had free gifts at the drying station of hair care products, lotions, and makeup. Drinks are now being offered again, but the other little added touches are gone for good. Might be on the hunt for a new shop if callous removal is limited to a weak pumice stone.

I really LOVED my nails at this spot. Jenny is very detailed and does great nail art. She's also very kind!!! I would highly recommend her and I'll be coming back to her anytime I want my nails done for a special occasion. I got this particular nails done for my bridal shower. It was liquid gel on my natural nails. I had three nail tips on that kinda got a little cracked and she was able to fix them by filling them in with the liquid gel. Love love love my nails! I got these done 07/29 and the nails are still going strong and don't look super grown out. Only one nail has broken, but the others still have all the little intricate gems and designs intact. It's not the fanciest place. If you're looking for a spa day like feel you won't get that here, but if you want your nails and toes to look BEAUTIFUL, you come here. Trish goes above and beyond for her customers! I also love Kaylee's work! I come in regularly for gel manicures and occasionally for a pedicure. The salon is clean and there is always someone walking around putting things away. Customer service is great, the girl who always works the front is so friendly and helpful. I've never felt rushed and they've always been accommodating if I'm in a time crunch. I like the modern, but instrumental music, and I've saved recipes from the cooking shows from Bon Appétit that they play. I find myself relaxed and enjoying myself while I am getting my nails done. read more

I had my nails done by Trish and she was amazing! The atmosphere is relaxing and I enjoy the salon every time I go. I have seen Trish about six times already and I refuse to go anywhere else. It's a half hour drive for me, but it's so worth it to have beautiful nails done by Trish! Make an appointment with Trish and you will see why I am such a big fan!!! read more

I had an overnight layover at IAD before I leave for vacation. I was so excited that VIP nails could get me in for a same day mani pedi. My experience in the shop was nice enough, but the 2 stars are for poor quality nail polish. My gel mani was done 3 days ago. On day 2 it was already chipping on the tips and the next day the polish was coming off entire nails. See pictures. I suggest avoiding the gel polish in the box and going with the OPI gel instead. So disappointed that I am on vacation with these messed up nails. read more

I've been searching for a nail salon for months after my last tech moved out of state. I found VIP Nails on Google and after reading several reviews felt like it was worth a shot. I booked my appointment with Hannah. The salon is easy to find and had lots of appointment times available. I knew I wanted extensions but not acrylic (I'm trying to be kind to my nails in this cold weather) so I booked for Gel-X with gel removal (gel from another salon). Upon arrival I was asked to wash my hands and pick a color. Having never done anything other than acrylic or gel I wasn't sure what to expect. I sat down with Hannah and explained what I wanted (extensions on 7 out of 10 nails and the remaining 3 left short - IYKYK). Originally we were going to do Gel-X but Hannah felt it would be better to do dip, so we dipped the 7 nails. I trusted her judgement and had already told her I work a lot with my hands. I chose a color that was almost holographic and Hanna felt it would look better with a second holographic color (not cat eye) and she was right! The additional color made the nails so much better. She also freehanded roses on each finger. So much talent! I was not disappointed. I feel like I've found my new salon and nail tech! Can't wait to see what the pedicure will be like! read more

I switched nail techs because Twee is hard to book with. I switched to Katie, and she destroyed my natural nails. I have deep ridges in the natural nails now and a lot of damage from her drilling while "tidying" the edging during an acrylic fill. I have to regrow my nails from scratch and they're absolutely horrible looking, brittle, and PAINFUL. read more

I came in today wanting to find a new salon to go to in the area since I'm from Reston. Originally I wanted French nails but Tiffanie used yellow tips instead of clear ones under an opaque nail color.. Had to get it removed because it's not aesthetically pleasing to see the nail extension and glue underneath the polish. Requested it to be all white. Thought it would be easier to do. I dunno how many times she started all over again bc it was too patchy or bubbling.. I kept telling her that the nails are uneven and she said that it's because I "wanted to change from an opaque color to white." Be forreal. Such a waste of money and time coming here. read more

As an update to my last review, I would not recommend this place for natural nails. The tech used some kind of drill on my cuticle area and by the next day the skin on that finger started peeling and shredding. It was very painful. I've never had a tech use that kind of tool on my natural nails before. Whatever that tool was, it caused my skin to shred and peel. Very painful. Took at least a week to resolve. Probably a fine place if you are doing acrylic or other things. But I did not have a good experience as a natural nail girl! read more

I tried many nail salons in the area before I found this one. I don't get my nails done very often, but when I do, I go here. Katie is excellent, and so is Nancy. I've never had a bad experience here, so I'm comfortable doing a walk in with any tech if they can accommodate me. Sometimes they are too busy for a walk in, but then I just make an appointment. I don't go anywhere else. read more

My first time at this establishment. I was greeted right away. It was clean inside. My nail tech, Tina, was very patient with me. She took the time to answer all my questions about the manicure I wanted (gel x). As it was my first time. She was very thorough and meticulous. I appreciated that after she started the filing process, I felt they were still to long and she adjusted them for me with no issues. She did such an amazing job. This place is 30 minutes away for me but totally worth the drive. read more

I've been going here for several years now and it's totally worth it! It's hard to get in sometimes, but if you schedule your appointments a couple at a time that's probably your best bet. I had taken a short hiatus from VIP Nails because of my work schedule and my hands/feet clearly remember why this is the best place to go for great quality, great prices, and a super friendly staff. read more

The facility was clean. Staff was very friendly upon entrance. They sat us immediately for two manicures. I did a regular manicure ($25) which was good quality and pricing. My friend did gel x full set ($65). The only concern she had was that the nails weren't cleaned underneath but everything on top looked great. I would say it's worth coming again for the price, friendliness of the staff, and location.

I called and they were able to get me an appointment at my desired date/time. I arrived and showed the nail tech a photo of what I wanted and did a great job re-creating the look! I wanted something fun/different for vacation. She also made the nail shape perfect! I will admit, the interior is a bit lackluster but I would rather my nails look great and have proper cleanliness than the boutique being fully renovated/modern. I have gotten my nails done here multiple times already and each time that i DONT go here i regret it! They have consistently done an amazing job. Their gel lasts two weeks and doesn't chip. Every tech there knows what they're doing so you don't have to worry about finding "the one". I'm very picky with my nails - i'm the one that will say something everytime if i notice it being done wrong...and i ask to change it if it's wrong shape, cut or color. here i just keep quiet and relax which is nice lol i dont have to worry about it! They also get the hint if you don't really wanna socialize. Sometimes i go after work and i am exhausted and don't wanna make small talk and they won't keep trying once they realize ur just there to relax. I've gone to some places where they just want to chat up a storm and while I sometimes appreciate it, other times i really just don't want to talk. Their regular pedi lasts like a month - i don't even do gel on my toes anymore since they do such a great job at pedis. They offer sodas and water and tiny little sweets which is nice. Sometimes they give you additional free gifts too :) last time i spent $70 they gave me a purse lol This is my go to nail salon! read more

This nail salon is generally solid. I've never felt like I was rushed in having anything done, the nail techs are really friendly, and they options for pedicures are pretty good. I tend to get gel manicures, and have had good luck with them not cracking/chipping right away...they tend to last until I can make it back for another round. I can't say this for all the gel manicures I've had! In general, they're right in line with pricing of other nail salons. My only feedback, is that I wish they had a better variety of colors. I usually end up bringing my own, because I'm tired of the same pinks/reds. Otherwise, this is a great place! read more

We went to VIP Nails as a bridal party and had a great experience! They closed the shop, had food and beverages, were sooooo friendly and accommodating, and took appropriate Covid-19 precautions. Mary was my technician, and she was so sweet and professional. She did beautiful work. I had to bring my newborn with me, and they were so understanding and helpful with him, as well! ive been going there for about a year now just for eyebrows and the service is not great, but they did a decent job with my brows. but the last time i was there the lady fucked up my eyebrows they were not even too short and just messed up. she did them in less than 5 minutes but needless to say never going back again. read more
