Worldgate Nails is a hidden gem, literally. It was a tiny bit difficult to find since it's slightly tucked into a corner, but once you find it, you won't be turning back. I visited on a Sunday and the store was pretty much full. Appointments might be advised during busier times of the day, but I'm sure walk ins are welcomed. Just make sure you check in on the sign in sheet at the desk when you walk in. I had the pleasure of getting an appointment with Mrs. Michelle, who, to my surprise, told me she's been the owner for 15 years. And it truly shows. She is so sweet, very professional, and even better, I showed her the design I wanted and she recreated it without needing to reference the photo again. Truly a mastermind at work. Let me add that my nails are approaching three weeks and they look exactly how they did the day I walked out of the store. The nail polish is thick in a good way and very durable, which helps prevent damage and chips. Do yourself a favor and schedule an appointment. You might even have the honor of meeting Kaitlin, the receptionist, who is the nicest human alive. read more

I don't live in the area so I had to rely on Yelp and its rating. Great choice! I don't get anything fancy because I have weak nails (thyroid) and Lena did not push me into anything so thank you. I love just my plain old fashioned manicure and color. I did get extra treatment on my pedicure and Lena did a wonderful job. I only got my toes done here but I did end up really liking the way my toes came out! I did a French pedi. I honestly forget the price but I think it was around $75 for pedi, gel, French tips. Staff was kind and the place was fairly clean looking. I had to guide the lady doing my toes where to clean up the French to make it look better and they had a hard time finding the right pink shade. Overall, she made it happen so I can't complain. read more

I have been to Worldgate nails several times,but never had a chance to review. Today is kind of special; I arranged a family pedicure day for my sister and I along with our parents. We did a Spa pedicures; it includes foot massage, deep cleaning and choice of lavender, citrus, and green tea scrub+moisturizer. My mom had Sally, Dad had Ratha, little sister had Cici, and I worked with Kim. All of them did a great job and I can't recommend this place enough. The whole time we we're laughing and enjoying ourselves. read more

3.5 Overpriced. I got a gel mani. 3 of my natural nails needed to be repaired, and she said she cld only do it by applying acrylic. They do not look that good. They are bumpy, thick, and crooked. This part took about an hour. I got white swirl designs on all 10 nails. The design took her literally under 2 mins & she charged me $15 for that. I wasn't blown away, but I am happy with the way the other 7 fingers look, lol. I just don't think they look like a $70 gel manicure. The lady doing my nails was very, very. nice, but she wasn't the one who did my design. read more

Worldgate Nails is wonderful. Kim was my go-to for nearly 6 months on a regular basis before I recently moved back to Maryland. Fantastic with designs! Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of any I had Hugh. She is so sweet. and I will miss her! Cici is also great if Kim is unavailable. Great prices for what you get! They take COVID precautions seriously as well. When you walk in you must go wash hands immediately, answer a questionnaire, and have your temp taken. read more

Have gone to this salon multiple times, as it is a less than 5 minute drive from my house. I've gotten dip manicures, gel manicures and pedicures there. Jenny and Sally are my favorites for manicures. My finger nails look great every time. My toes, eh it depends...They're good maybe 60-70% of the time but sometimes they can be a little sloppy with the polish. They always do a good job with cleaning and callus removal though. read more

If you absolutely need to get your nails done and its convenient because you're in the neighborhood then it's ok, but expect high mystery prices and ride service and not having any modern or new colors available. Very rude service. I won't be back. I've been coming here on and off for years because it's not near me but it's one of the few salons I've found where all the techs are competent, so you can walk in and not worry about who is available. Of course there is always one who is a rock star. Here it was Jenny but she left! It's not the luxury type of place you come to relax and be pampered. It's clean, reasonably priced and do good nails. Management is customer focused and techs are business-y. That suits me fine. Anyone know where Jenny went? read more

Zero stars. Nail tech stabbed my toe, did not apologize, and it is still hurting after a day. She was distracted during the entire pedi session while she kept her eyes on her previous client for her tip. She ONLY cut my toe nails, did not cut around the nail cuticles, or gave a proper basic pedi session. Very disappointed and was expecting an apology but left after she cleaned the tub without saying anything. Update: I cannot walk on my foot today because it may be infected. Manager did call and apologize. I appreciate it. read more

Mediocre quality. I paid $50+ to pamper myself which doesn't happen often and left not feeling very good about having wasted money. French tips came out uneven and I asked for thinner lines but she said that's not what I should get and proceeded to give me thicker lines. This is also the same lady that stabbed my friend's big toe and had thick blood running over her toe while giving her a pedicure, and instead of apologizing said she'll be fine. I wouldn't recommend getting detailed worked done such as manicures/pedicures from someone who needs reading glasses. Am I being too picky here? Maybe, but if you're spending money on a luxury you should get quality that leaves you feeling good about yourself. Update: manager called and apologized for how my nails turned out and also for the incident with my friends toe. That was really nice of him and the apology and offer to fix our nails was much appreciated. read more

I absolutely love Worldgate Nails and have been coming here for over 6 years. They are extremely professional and take great care in providing wonderful service. There are a ton of regulars that everyone knows by name as soon as you walk in. My nail technician is Michelle. She is so meticulous and careful when doing my nails to ensure they last. I can go three weeks with gel polish, if not longer with no lifting or cracking. I have also gone to Cece, Rahta, and Sally and they have done a wonderful job. There's a lot of laughing and it's a great place to get a break. I really love this place. read more

Nail technicians are extremely rude and unprofessional. I picked three colors to choose from and asked the guy who did my nail to put it on my nails to see how it would look. He takes out a piece of napkin and puts those colors on it goes 'see from here'. I was dumb founded by that and didn't know what to say. Never experienced something like this in any nail salon before. Then after he's done doing my nails, he tells me go sit outside of the salon for your nails to dry! WOW! There are some basic manners and some basic customer service. Please learn some basic manners! read more

I was hesitant to post these because I never want to be negative, so I let some time pass before deciding on posting. I asked for dip and was offered an alternative that was "less chemical", to which I agreed not realizing they were essentially press ons. The nails did turn out very nice so my complaint isn't with that, but with the process. My dip nails were ripped off using an unused acrylic nail tip instead of soaked off. It took the top layer of my nails off as well as my natural nail tips. All of my nails were as long as my ring finger but were all destroyed. It was extremely painful and my fingers were sore for several days after. I'll leave it at 3 stars because my nails did turn out nice, but the pain of the process as well as two of my nails coming off the next day is where I'm taking off 2 stars. read more

I have been nervous about COVID so I haven't gotten my nails done in over a year. I felt so at ease at Worldgate Nails that I almost fell asleep! A staff member takes your temperature on arrival and directs you to wash your hands immediately. They have a COVID screener sheet you must fill out before sitting down. Everyone wears a masks and sanitizes often. Kim did an amazing job on my full set and really paid attention to detail, making sure each nail was beautiful. She was so gentle and precise! The hand massage at the end was so great! I left feeling pretty, pampered, and relaxed. I can't wait to go back for my fill and add e pedicure next time read more

I've been to this salon twice and in both of my experiences the nail techs are too harsh with the cuticle clippers. Today was the SECOND time I've left with cuts! The tech said sorry only after I noticed it She went to get neosporin only after I asked her to get it. A male working at the salon didn't understand why I was upset, and tried to gaslight me and said it was only minor. As a business, you should take every incident seriously. Especially if there's blood involved. Extremely unhappy with my treatment as a paying customer, and with the overall nail service. read more

I brought in a reference photo and she was so sweet and patient with swatching so many colors and it turned out even better than I had expected. Please spend your money somewhere else. I got a pedicure here and midway the technician left my pedicure and signaled her coworker to finish my pedicure. This was after I called and checked if I can come at a certain time. After the second technician was done, I asked if I can wear my Sandals and he screamed at me from across the room "if you are in a hurry, get a gel next time". I have been going to this place for last 5 yrs and never expected this level of disrespect. The technicians were even screaming at each other in their native language. read more

First of all, I had an appointment at 10am (when they opened) when I walked in, wasn't even greeted, frankly I was ignored.. after a few minutes past by, a lady who was working already with a client asked what I needed. I informed them I had an appointment for mani/pedi.. I waited 15 min before I got assigned someone. It was a gentleman.. but from the minute I sat down.. he has not said one word to me, sounded like he was complaining the whole time! Like wtf.. Second, I didn't see a fresh bag of sanitized nail equipment (nail cutter, cuticle cuter, files..etc)... that threw me off.. how unsanitary.. I should have got up.. for sure this is the last time I visit this place.. my nails still have the old polish on.. I have been a loyal client for the past four years (gel manicure on a biweekly basis and a pedicure on a monthly -ish basis!) and today was my first day back since the beginning of COVID-19. I truly appreciate how well the salon is following CDC guidelines. Upon entering the salon, a staff took my temperature and asked me to wash my hands. All staff and clients are required to wear masks. There are plexiglass dividing each pedicure station; each station was 6 feet apart. There was also plexiglass dividing the staff and clients at the manicure stations; each station also 6 feet apart. I felt very safe and comfortable getting my pedicure done today! I would highly recommend this salon (even pre-COVID-19 days!) but even more so, now. The staff have always been super warm, friendly, and inviting. :) To the Worldgate Nails salon staff -- thank you all SO MUCH for re-opening, following CDC guidelines, and keeping all of us safe!!! My wife wanted to just get a simple gel fill which is pretty standard and runs $40-$50 pretty much anywhere else. But here they said $65. And there was no menu shown which seems pretty shady. The lady in charge lowered it to $60 but even then that's still a lot for a simple gel fill and a solid color. The lady doing my wife's nails took 3 hours to do a simple gel fill and solid color. 3 hours. She's gotten full blown designs done in less time. And not only did it take that long, but her nails were uneven. Some were not cut straight, some were thicker than others, some were the wrong shape. The lady also told my wife she couldn't make two of the nails any thinner or they'd be too thin and could break, but some of the nails she did on the other hand were thinner than the two nails she said that about. She either was newer or had no idea what she was talking about. We definitely will NOT be back. It's expensive, the quality of the work was awful, and it took 3 hours for awful work. Whoever is in charge here should be ashamed of themselves.

She has inconsistent pricing, shady business practices, poor technique, and an awful attitude. I have never met anyone in my life to be so aggressive for literally no reason. A scenario that caused me to stop going to Herndon nail spa: 1. I consistently got Dip powder for years until my main technician rage quite (per Christy). The other technicians were unable to get the same lasting quality that my OG technician could do so I decided to start doing acrylic nails. Christy started doing my nails going forward due to the other techs not being trained. The website listed the cost as $45 which I always budgeted for. Christy insists that customers pay via Venmo and "never" put anything related to nails on the payment notes (she clearly is trying to evade taxes). Ok, fine, I pay via Venmo because I don't want to get yelled at on a Saturday morning. I purposely only have the $45 + 25% tip on my Venmo as my account has gotten hacked before, so I only have the amount needed per appt in my Venmo account. For whatever reason, the last 3-4 times I went to see Christy the price of the nails increased by $5-$10 then $12 then doubled. According to Christy it was because of the "shape" note, the shape was an inconsistent squoval shape. Nor did I ask for a special shape so I am unsure why she felt the need to do a "special" shape in the first place. Not that it looked nice either way. During the visit where I paid a mysterious, extra $10, Christy felt the need to openly mock customers for "only tipping $2" and for being "stingy". I was genuinely flabbergasted as I believe service workers deserve quadruple what they are paid. I have worked as a service worker for the better half of a decade so I know what it can be like. Fast forward to the end of the appointment, Christy was notably louder indicating the cost of the service. I turned around to her and said "oh the cost went up? Its $55 now?" and she responded with "no, the shape". Again, the shape was squoval and I specifically asked for a basic non-labor-intensive shape lol. Ok, I venomed and left, realizing after the fact, that I was the one she was mocking about the $2 tip! I was genuinely horrified lol! She must have felt that I stiffed her the previous appt when, in reality, I intended to tip 25% but ended tipping significantly less since apparently the cost was $10+ more than listed on my appointment booking and I genuinely do not recall her telling me the price increase. She increased the cost of the service for literally no reason other than greed and again without my knowledge. But what is most astonishing is that she felt comfortable enough to openly mock her customer(s), who had been coming to her for YEARS, to her face, in front of a "full house" on a Saturday morning. Again, she insists on customers paying via Venmo and gets enraged when people try to tip on card because she doesn't want to pay taxes on it. So again, I am already going out of my way to accommodate her. If she would just allow customers to pay via card and provided a receipt, there would be significantly less confusion. Ultimately, if you want cheap but decent-looking nails this is your place. You will most likely have at least 2 cuticles ripped but your nails will look nice and last at least 2 weeks which can honestly be hard to find. If you care more about ethical business practices and transparent pricing, I do not recommend this place one bit. I am a strong-willed person and even I felt uncomfortable in Christy's presence. Color, shape, size, or anything in between, you will not be treated with respect at this establishment.

The scheduling process was super easy, I believe I just called them and afterwards had to text my information to them. Maybe a second later I got a text confirming the appointment, with a link to their Square website. I especially appreciated this aspect because I was able to see the location on my Maps app. On the day of my appointment, I noted the salon is close to Main Street/Old Town Fairfax but it's in its own area with ample parking. I accidentally went to the wrong building, but Vera was super nice and came outside to get me. When I walked into the salon, I noted how clean and neat it looked inside. It doesn't have a million pedicure chairs, but this is because they specialize in dry pedis, which require special chairs (look up dry pedis online, they're life changing). It wasn't super loud in there either, which added to the peaceful vibes of the place. I was offered a beverage once I got to Vera's work station and she brought me water. So right off the bat, customer service gets a 10/10. Next, I showed Vera what I wanted. She confirmed the shape, the color, and wanted to know if I was okay with my color being more sheer (I picked a pink that actually comes out more see through). This was perfectly fine by me, because I wanted more of a natural nail moment. Once Vera confirmed all that I wanted she got to WORK. When I tell you no kind of manicure compares to a proper Russian manicure, I mean it. They devote so much time to cleaning and cutting your cuticles (dead skin only, no live skin), making sure the polish isn't lumpy, and maintaining the shape, that it's literally giving a LUXURY experience. Despite having to take the time to perfect all of these little things, my mani really didn't take all that long and by the end of it, I was in love. Other than how perfect my mani was at the end, I especially loved that I hadn't been nicked or cut at all by the nail scissors. I have actually been to some places that say they specialize in "Russian manicure" and left completely cut up everywhere (an infection waiting to happen), but at Diva Beauty Lounge, Vera really took her time and ensured everything was done properly, safely, and hygienically. The one thing I will say about getting this kind of mani (or pedi if you so choose), is that it will definitely cost more than your typical manicure/pedicure. The reason being that it's a much more specialized technique and your nails just look that much better due to them taking their time and perfecting everything. If you're not the kind of person that can come often, I highly suggest getting a nude color (what I did) so that you don't have to come in sooner when it starts growing out. Otherwise, this is a great kind of mani to get if you're getting engaged, have a party, some kind of special event, etc. It's well worth the extra coin. And if you can come regularly, I say do it! This kind of manicure also keeps your cuticles perfected and helps your nails to grow out nicely. Overall, have got to give my girl Vera a 10/10, this was an A+ experience. I was super pleased with my visit and my nails, and can't wait to come back again!

STOLEN JEWLERY!!! The last time I went in for a gel manicure, the lady offered to hold my gold watch/bracelet while I dipped my hand in the wax. Later that day I realized she never gave me my bracelet back and I ran back to the saloon in sheer panic because I never wear that bracelet since it held such a strong sentimental value to me; it was a gift from my engagement ceremony. When I went back and asked the ladies if they had seen it, I was completely shocked by how cold, rude, and uncaring all of the ladies were acting towards me and my situation. These were the same ladies that were joking with me and complimenting me earlier that afternoon when I was giving them business; I couldn't believe the difference in attitude from them. I had to literally BEG the lady who did my nails to look in her work station. She even had the audacity to blame me for taking it and losing it myself afterwards. I told the ladies very clearly "IF YOU TAKE A WOMANS JEWLERY ITEM, YOU HAVE TO HAND IT BACK TO HER; DO NOT PUT IT ON THE TABLE AND EXPECT HER TO GRAB IT". The lady who did my nails never even told me she that she set it down on the table. How was I supposed to know it was there? I'm so, so sad about my missing bracelet and will never give this saloon my business again. I have also made sure to tell all of my coworkers, who have shown interest in the saloon, my story. With all the money I have spent there in the past few months, I expect a certain level of customer service. A good place for a quick touch up. They corrected a shape issue my nails had. Nails looked fresh and fabulous upon leaving but my toes didn't last because the paint overlapped the cuticle a bit so when the got wet in the shower the paint lifted and then peeled. COULD THEY BE ANY PRETTIER? NO, THEY COULD NOT. I've gotten pedicures there a few times from James (usually, have had a few others), always fantastic. My feet are a MESS but they always look great when done. Overall this salon is a small little hole in the wall that delivers SUPER AMAZING manis and pedis at a ridiculously reasonable price. I cannot say enough good things about it. Please don't make it so I can't get in with Selena anymore or I will cry :)
