Shipping heavy stoves is very expensive, and occasionally he has to adjust the shipping prices. I know from experience crazy amounts of duty and import charges can occur and at times likely he has absorbed costs to make them as affordable as possible for people. SilverFire also does great humanitarian work; check out their website pictures and videos. Google Youtube videos for accurate reviews of this company and their products and you'll see that these stoves work great and are perfect in this COVID day...perfect for off-grid cooking and emergency water and food prep, etc. They also sell things like solar lanterns, really quick boiling kettles, solar ovens (I have one that I use in sunny California), etc. I also own the scout stove and that's my fave quick little one that works super efficiently.

Owned for less than four years, but it has had numerous issues, often arising in the middle of a cook. This one is sheltered and used medium to lightly and I've had to replace several hot rods, had pellet fires in the BBQ because of malfunctions and now the fan doesn't work despite replacing the fan. Traeger rubs and sauces are mediocre compared to store bought, homemade, or other product. I'm afraid Traeger's good days are gone apparently due to some business decisions. Luckily there are other pellet grills and smoker out there, hopefully better quality and more reliable.

After reviewing the log of our technical support calls, the CEO called my husband, and sent us a new grill/smoker and asked us to return the old one so they could determine what this issue was. Plus, we were thrilled when we found it was built in the US. Unfortunately, we've have had nothing but problem with it. About six months in, we started having problems getting a temp above 200. It just wouldn't heat up. We've been on the phone with MAK Grills more times then we can count. The fire rod went out twice. MAK Grills has sent my husband parts numerous times and we even tried switching pellets but it's sill not working right. We then spent a bunch of money to replace the fire starter and now it never goes off after the fire is started and burns everything all the way to the pellet bin. You should have seen the smoke coming out of the pellet bin... We're giving up. BTW...the Treager Grill (made in China) that we bought 6 years earlier still works.
