I have found over the years that at the Corvallis store there is only three people employed there that are truly helpful. Bruce, if you need help in plumbing or hardware, Gina, for electrical, and Tom, for everything else. You got it; if you need help in gardening, plumbing, electrical, lumber, hardware, flooring, bar b que grills, power tools, etc, He is the most helpful person by far. He goes above and beyond to assist every customer to the best of his ability. It never ceases to amaze me how customers will stand in line for Tom's assistance. Home Depot you have a rare jewel in your presence. This man deserves a humongous raise, because whatever you are paying him is definitely not enough. I noticed that he as well as a few others are wearing "Coach" badges now. Where are the managers, the guys who make the big bucks, hiding while these few individuals are doing their jobs of training all these young people, who don't have a clue of what real work ethic is? 5 Stars for Tom in plumbing.

A man in the paint department said he's not good at color. I asked if there was blue tint in the sample he was making and he said he didn't know and he didn't how to look it up. He said the color was pink and asked why I thought it had blue. I told him it looks purple. Nothing like the pink I asked him to make. Today I waited nearly 15 minutes in the paint department for someone to arrive. 10 of those minutes the phone was ringing non-stop across the way in customer service. I was calling to see if I could get help. I watched customer service standing around talking to one another, not answering the phone. So, I walked over and asked if there was someone who could help in the paint dept. They said someone would eventually come. I asked if he heard the phone ringing, He told me they don't even hear it anymore. I pointed at my phone and said the timer shows I've been calling for over 10 minutes trying to get help and there are 4 of you chatting here. I left it ringing a few more minutes until someone helped me in paint. I was calm and polite and so disappointed by what Home Depot is these days. I don't mind waiting, as needed, but no one is helpful. No one seems to care. I bought tile, flooring, paint, and so forth. I started driving to Lowes in Albany so I could get better help. I don't want to commute for this. My next project is a deck. I won't be working with Home Depot.

After receiving a call that all of my appliances were ready for pickup at their warehouse, my husband went to collect them--only to find that the stove I had purchased had been sold to someone else by one of Kelly's sales associates. We were told we would have to wait for a replacement stove to be delivered. As a cottage baker, a reliable stove is essential to my business. Unfortunately, the replacement stove did not cook my products correctly. When I contacted Kelly's to report the issue, they were dismissive of my concern and I was told that their return policy only covers a five-day window--essentially leaving me with no recourse. Three weeks later, a new control panel was installed on the stove, but there's no guarantee this will resolve the issue. I can't shake the suspicion that I was given a returned or defective unit from the beginning. Sadly, this experience has completely eroded my trust in Kelly's Appliance Center. As well as the quality and reliability of Bosch stoves. I chose Kelly's because I believed they would offer superior service and support, but unfortunately, my experience has proven otherwise. I would not choose to do business with them again.

Driving around and calling proved useless as the only bellows we found was almost $300!! It was gorgeous though, but too beautiful to use. Finally, Home Depot Customer Service recommended this small mom and pop shop. I'm so glad they did! We called them and yes they have bellows. We drove over and were greeted with a smile. I was stupefied to think I'm going to a sewing and vacuum repair for a bellows?!? What?? Uhh, okay, then I might go to a burger joint looking for a car wash?? ... Jokes on me as this place has it all! Yes, they have loads of sewing and vacuum equipment, supplies and repairs, plus they have a beautiful selection of pizza ovens and outdoor barbecues. There was one pizza oven in particular that really caught my eye. This beauty would go well on my patio deck next to my smoker. It runs on either wood or propane and is assembled on a really nice frame with shelving. It can do fairly large pizzas as well. Other areas of the store surprised me as there was also a nice variety of wood and pellet stoves as well as a section for sewing and vacuum. I ended up with a nice quality bellows for less than $100 and a firewood tote that was made from recycled canvas materials and very sturdy. The store is clean and well organized with quality brand names. Staff are polite and friendly and they mentioned they are new owners. I would definitely go back for more supplies.

I hated it, and used my Viking as well as I could. Recently, I decided to at least have my old Viking cleaned, and took it in for service. A whole new crew--and THEY FIXED IT LIKE NEW!! I am SO HAPPY! And it was only a week to do, and reasonable rate. Can't say enough about the great service. Please support this business.

(And yes, it is a small business, Todd is often the sole employee with one or two max young helpers; usually his sons). Shipping heavy stoves is very expensive, and occasionally he has to adjust the shipping prices. I know from experience crazy amounts of duty and import charges can occur and at times likely he has absorbed costs to make them as affordable as possible for people. SilverFire also does great humanitarian work; check out their website pictures and videos. Google Youtube videos for accurate reviews of this company and their products and you'll see that these stoves work great and are perfect in this COVID day...perfect for off-grid cooking and emergency water and food prep, etc. They also sell things like solar lanterns, really quick boiling kettles, solar ovens (I have one that I use in sunny California), etc. I also own the scout stove and that's my fave quick little one that works super efficiently.

We used to lose power a lot in our last house and it was great to be able to cook food even when the power was out. Highly recommended. I think some people are expecting amazon levels of service... I think amazon has enough of my money, it's nice to support a small business. Thanks Todd!

I could have ordered what I needed on Amazon, but I elected to purchase locally from Hometown. It's hard to believe, but an actual HUMAN BEING answered my call on about the 3rd ring. Hometown Hearth had to order an item, but it was here in 3 days...and the prices were nearly identical to what I found online. A real human called to tell me that my order was in. When I picked it up, there wasn't any codes to enter, or anything to scan. The person simply handed my parts, and I left a happy camper. Buying locally from the dwindling "mom and pop" stores is THE way to go! GREAT customer service, NO fiddling with codes, passwords, or dealing with (often) clueless big box store assistants. I drive by here regularly and today I came in for a propane refill. 4.6 gallons of fuel for $10.99 Not a bad price. They had 2 guys filling tanks and handing out tickets to take inside and pay. They looked hot as it was blazing outside and although they had a shelter to give them shade, it has a metal roof. They were making the best of it. 1 guy had a vulgar mouth and the tall guy didn't talk, he just looked like he wanted to go home. I was on a mission until I walked into the showroom. I swear I heard an angel singing when I noticed what I was walking into. I paid. Said, thank you and walked around till I felt guilty for how long I was talking. If we didn't have meat in the car, I definitely would have stayed for a while. Good news is that it's BBQ season and my other tank needs fuel and I need ... something, so I'll be back soon.

My old dishwasher was still working, but was making a lot of noise and was slowly dying. I removed my old dishwasher last night and had it sitting in my kitchen ready to be hauled away. At 8:15 am they called me and told me they accidentally sold my dishwasher to another customer, and now the don't have anymore. They apologized and said they might be able to deliver different in stock model soon if I wanted to change my order. I asked if soon, meant today. The sales person said probably not. We drove to their store, and looked at the other comparable dishwashers, but they all had features my wife did not like. So we asked how long to get another one of same model we had ordered. They said 1.5 to 2 weeks. I said, that since I didnt want to go 2 weeks without a dishwasher, I would have to re-install my old dying dishwasher and then remove it again in 2 weeks. What a PITA. I then asked for free delivery, install and haul away, since their F'up was costing a lot time and effort. The salesperson went to see if management would okay this request. Management did not. The best they would do was knock about $100 off their fees. I then canceled the order, and ordered from HD. With delivery and haul away included, it was about $60 less than Stover. Plus I could get it in 3 days. So, we got the model we wanted for less money and a much sooner delivery. So I'm not impressed with Stover's customer service, or really doing anything helpful after such a monumental F'up. I was specifically going with a local business because I thought they would have better customer service. I am very disappointed.
