We recently purchased a new Speed Queen washer and dryer set…read more So different than the Home Despot experience. These folks are knowledgeable, and actively want to help you make an informed decision by understanding your needs. I have been consistently impressed by their willingness to find out anything for you that they can't answer. The sales process was smooth, the install was perfect, and I finally feel I can actually trust the place I bought from. Kudos to the Stover Evey Jackson team!!

Well my experience with them was not good. My new dishwasher…read morewas supposed to be delivered between 8 and 10 am this morning. I paid for delivery and haul away of old dishwasher. My old dishwasher was still working, but was making a lot of noise and was slowly dying. I removed my old dishwasher last night and had it sitting in my kitchen ready to be hauled away. At 8:15 am they called me and told me they accidentally sold my dishwasher to another customer, and now the don't have anymore. They apologized and said they might be able to deliver different in stock model soon if I wanted to change my order. I asked if soon, meant today. The sales person said probably not. We drove to their store, and looked at the other comparable dishwashers, but they all had features my wife did not like. So we asked how long to get another one of same model we had ordered. They said 1.5 to 2 weeks. I said, that since I didnt want to go 2 weeks without a dishwasher, I would have to re-install my old dying dishwasher and then remove it again in 2 weeks. What a PITA. I then asked for free delivery, install and haul away, since their F'up was costing a lot time and effort. The salesperson went to see if management would okay this request. Management did not. The best they would do was knock about $100 off their fees. I then canceled the order, and ordered from HD. With delivery and haul away included, it was about $60 less than Stover. Plus I could get it in 3 days. So, we got the model we wanted for less money and a much sooner delivery. So I'm not impressed with Stover's customer service, or really doing anything helpful after such a monumental F'up. I was specifically going with a local business because I thought they would have better customer service. I am very disappointed.

Corvallis Sewing & Vacuum Center - All you need is a HEPA vacuum bag, elastic, thread, and a sewing machine to make this masks.

I had a HORRIBLE experience with this establishment about 4 years ago when I had my vacuum…read morerepaired. Or I could say, they SAID they repaired it but it never worked very well again. Anyway, it finally completely died, and I have 2 huge hairy dogs who decided to "blow their coats" at the same time. There is hair on everything.. I had to have my vacuum. So, I brought it back, hoping they could at least resurrect it until I could take it to my favorite place in Eugene. ( paramount sewing and vacuum).. WHAT A DELIGHTFUL SURPRISE I HAD WHEN I WENT IN!!! NEW OWNERS!!!! SUPER FRIENDLY, HELPFUL, POLITE, HONEST, EXEMPLARY CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! I WOULD NOW HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE. WHAT A DIFFERENCE A NEW OWNER MAKES.!!!

One star, only because zero isn't an option…read more Less than a year ago, Corvallis Sewing and Vacuum fixed the foot pedal on my Singer Featherweight and charged their $50 minimum. Fine. Fair. I came back. A few weeks ago I brought in another foot pedal, just the pedal, from another Singer 201 to replace its crumbling cords. I paid a $25 deposit. A week later the staff called, confused that they couldn't find the sewing machine that went with it. There wasn't one. I had only left the pedal. When it was ready, they called again and we confirmed the price: $25 paid, $25 due at pickup. $50 total, the same as last time. On pickup day I waited about five minutes at the counter before anyone helped me. I said I owed $25. The clerk agreed and even laughed about their earlier mix-up. Then she noticed the invoice said "-$50.00," changed it with a pen to "+$50.00," and asked if I'd wait while she reprinted it. Sure. She went into the back room, a coworker joined her, and after more than ten minutes she came out with new math. I now owed $75, because they "should have" collected a $50 deposit, and there's a $100 minimum for sewing machines. To recap: -I did not bring in a sewing machine. They knew this, because they called me about it. -My last pedal repair was billed at their $50 minimum. -They confirmed the $50 price themselves, on the phone and again at the counter. -Somewhere between the counter and the back room, the total doubled. -I was told the repair person is a contractor and they have to pay him. That's a pricing problem the business needs to solve before quoting customers, not after. The pedal works. I paid because I wanted my property back. From now on I'll drive to Salem or Eugene. If you do bring something here, get the total in writing and keep a copy.
