I honestly don't even know where to begin with how terrible this entire process has been and how incompetent the sales staff is. I ordered a professional range 2 months ago, and today was the fourth delivery attempt--which I ultimately declined and requested a refund. Four separate delivery days where I planned my day around and cancelled plans because of delivery. It takes A LOT for me to write a bad review. I am absolutely baffled by the level of incompetence from the sales team at Kelly's. I would never recommend buying from them. If your appliance arrives in perfect condition, consider yourself lucky--you do not want to deal with this company if anything goes wrong. I still have not received a single unprompted phone call. Delivery Attempt #1: The stove arrived and when the protective tape was pulled off, it left residue everywhere and the stainless steel looked damaged. I declined delivery. Frustrating but understand it's no one's fault. However, one of the delivery people and our sales person implied that we should just give it a little elbow grease ourselves. We paid several thousand dollars for a new stove, I think that is unreasonable to tell a customer to do that. It was taken back to the store, where the sales staff supposedly "cleaned" it. No call from our salesperson to schedule new delivery. Delivery Attempt #2: The following week, they attempted delivery again. It still wasn't in acceptable condition, so I declined it again. Our sales person was not friendly and acted like we were being unreasonable. I ordered a brand new stove so I think it's pretty reasonable to want in perfect condition upon arrival. So they then ordered a completely new stove. Again, no one called me about a timeline or delivery. Delivery Attempt #3: My delivery window was 11:45-3:45, but they didn't show up until 6:30 PM. I received zero communication--I had to call repeatedly just to get updates on arrival time. I have a toddler and a stove I couldn't use because they kept saying they were arriving any minute. The new stove arrived with the exact same tape issue. Frustrated, I begrudgingly allowed them to bring the stove inside with the promise that a cleaning crew would come the next week-- still not convinced that they would be able to get it cleaned, but so frustrated that I had been sitting at home for hours waiting and wanted to just get it done. The installers pulled out my old stove, brought the new one in, and after working through dinnertime, bathtime, and bedtime for my toddler, they informed me at 8:30 PM that they couldn't install it because they didn't have the correct fittings. This was the first time anyone mentioned a professional installer. Again, communication has been nonexistent the entire time aside from automated delivery confirmations. Since I couldn't be without a stove with a toddler, they had to bring back my old stove and reinstall. They left our home at 9:00 PM--from a window that was supposed to end at 3:45 PM. After going back and forth with the manager, we finally arranged a professional delivery team for the following week. Delivery Attempt #4 (Today): Yet again, the stove arrived in unacceptable condition despite attempts to clean it. The installer tried to clean it and even he agreed the stainless steel looked permanently damaged. At this point, I requested a full refund. Throughout this entire ordeal, not once did anyone from Kelly's reach out to us--no updates, no apologies, no communication at all. They issued a refund but still no call. Every single time, we had to call them. I wasted four days sitting waiting for this range, clearing out a path for delivery and canceling plans. The only positive part of this experience was the delivery crews themselves. They were polite and did the best they could with the situation they were given. Jose, Chris L, Lander and Chris H were awesome and understanding of our frustrations. I recently purchased several Bosch appliances from Kelly's Appliance Center in Salem, including a refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, and microwave. After receiving a call that all of my appliances were ready for pickup at their warehouse, my husband went to collect them--only to find that the stove I had purchased had been sold to someone else by one of Kelly's sales associates. We were told we would have to wait for a replacement stove to be delivered. As a cottage baker, a reliable stove is essential to my business. Unfortunately, the replacement stove did not cook my products correctly. When I contacted Kelly's to report the issue, they were dismissive of my concern and I was told that their return policy only covers a five-day window--essentially leaving me with no recourse. Three weeks later, a new control panel was installed on the stove, but there's no guarantee this will resolve the issue. I can't shake the suspicion that I was given a returned or defective unit from the beginning. Sadly, this experience has completely eroded my trust in Kelly's Appliance Center. As well as the quality and reliability of Bosch stoves. I chose Kelly's because I believed they would offer superior service and support, but unfortunately, my experience has proven otherwise. BUYER BEWARE - I would rate zero stars if I could. We visited several appliance stores and stopped in at Kelly's in Salem. We were fortunate to meet a salesperson named Greg. Greg was excellent and is the only part of our experience that we can say anything positive about Kellys. Above Greg up to the top of the management in Kelly's we experienced lies, broken commitments, and TONS of excuses. We purchased over $24,000 in appliances and their delivery team was horrible. They showed up, arrived early, seemed annoyed when they got there, and in general were incredibly unprofessional and rushed to deliver our 48" Cafe range, and 42" Cafe refrigerator, dishwasher and steam oven. They brought the wrong equipment to deliver a 48" range and damaged one of the feet of the range trying to shove their dolly under the feet (frightening to watch) and on the 42" refrigerator they tried to haul both of those heavy appliances with a simple dolly, not the specialized dollies they should have to deliver those heavy items. When delivering the refrigerator, they hit the top jamb of our double front doors when trying to get over the threshold. They damaged the door jamb and the top of the refrigerator. They also moved the heavy applianced by the door handles (likely not adequate to support the full weight of the units). I did not score points with the delivery drivers when I asked them to stop hoisting them around by the door handles (both refrigerator and 48" range) They initially acknowledged their negligence and after several emails and sent their own contractor out to look at, and bid the work to fix or replace the door jamb that was cracked across a good part of the top board, and then once they received the bid, they had multiple excuses for one delay after another, until today when they fabricated a story that the annoyed delivery team likely concocted with the management that they hit the door jamb with the refrigerator because of my husband helping them, when in fact he was standing to the side in case the refrigerator fell off the small dolly, he did not want it to damage our house. A series of poor customer service experiences with them passing the buck along to the next person in management, until it reached one of the Kelly owners who had the manager we were dealing with, give us the message that they were not responsible for anything. We learned this today after 4 months of going back and forth with them. We asked them to come get our damaged refrigerator. I would steer clear of Kelly's if you want someone to stand behind their product and delivery. BUYER BEWARE!! read more

I bought a dishwasher from Home Depot and it died after only 1 1/2 years. I bought an extended warranty, so I thought for sure it would be fixed - well after hours and hours and 2 months of EPIC run around, they could not find a part and they could not find anybody to fix it. I will never buy another appliance from Home Depot again, the service was awful. Someone recommended Kelly's to me because they're local and it was a wonderful experience. They helped me pick the right dishwasher that was low maintenance and reliable and the cost was very reasonable and handle their own warranties in house, no calling over seas and getting the constant run around. I can't recommend them enough and I'm particularly grateful for Tom who was the person that helped me that day, I feel like I have a personal Appliance resource now! I wonder if they have a cash flow issue? My 82 year old mother just bought a new refrigerator from them. The first one didn't fit, the one she ended up with was $522 cheaper. So Kelly's has been telling her since March 1st, that her refund would be mailed right away. Then started "The check is in the mail. Checks take 7-10 business days to get to you" lies. This is total BS. I finally went in today and was told the owners were all in Texas and there was no manager or anyone in charge in Salem today. I said, among other things that I wasn't leaving until I had a check for my mom. After making a couple of phone calls (upstairs) the sales guy he said he could get a check for my mom. Funny, all the owners were in Texas, yet the check is signed by the owner Jeff Kelly. The sales dude never said what to do with the check that is supposedly in the mail...This place is too much for me to handle. I bought a new fridge from Aaron Prince and had it delivered and set up. So far all is great. Delivery and set up folks as good as any we have ever delt with, great job guy's. trouble started when after the first day the fridge started humming and has been humming strong ever after. I called Aaron Prince and he told me that new appliances make noise all the time as the compressor is always on. I had no clue about that. I called after 3 or 4 days and they were always nice but would not let me exchange for another fridge. I spoke with the Manager Lorenzo Vasquez ( not sure of the spelling ) and he just said the new fridges make noise and we have no good reason to get a replacement or refund. I bought from Kelly's because it was family owned but now wish I had bought from Costco or Best Buy as my wife wanted. I am very disappointed with my purchase and now have to live with what sounds like a small engine idling in my home. Fast forward 12.5 months my washing machine breaks, I call them and they tell me my warranty through them is up at a year, that I need to contact whirlpool (Maytag) for the 5 year. After playing phone tag more than a dozen times and over 2 months without a washing machine I still have no answers on getting it fixed! We purchased our appliance package for a new house. We were charged extra to have the gas range converted to propane. We were told that was done prior to delivery. It was not! After repeated calls a tech was sent but he couldn't solve the problem to completion. He promised follow up which has not happened. We remodeled our kitchen May 2021. We replaced all our appliances and purchased them from a Kelly's. At their advice we purchased the extended warranty with the appliances. On March 24, 2023, our refrigerator stopped working. No problem, we've got an extended warranty. Call the warranty company, first appointment 2 weeks out, that sucks but okay. Morning of the appointment they call and cancel... lots of back and forth with the Kelly's and the warranty company, and here it is May 9, 2023 and we still don't have a working refrigerator. Six weeks without a refrigerator and we still do not know when it will be fixed. At the end of the day Kelly's will not have your back. They do not back up their products or their customers. BE VERY CAUTIOUS OF THE UPSELL AND DISHONEST SALES TACTICS. BE SURE TO CHECK OTHER SITES REVIEWS! My older whirlpool duet dryer stopped working so I called Kelly's In Salem. I had already been referring people there trying to promote the local business economy so it seemed the obvious choice. At the time I had been without a dryer for about a week and with 3 foster children, the laundry was piling up. I called the store to find an LG dryer (to match my LG washer) and was talked into an Electrolux dryer by Tom, the salesman. He explained how the Electrolux was a much better dryer, he had one himself and had me look up the dryer by model number. The picture shows a dryer with what looks like a built in riser just like my older whirlpool duet dryer I was replacing. I was excited not to have to spend money on an additional pedestal, especially because I don't need the drawer. Wanting to be sure, I specifically asked him if it came with the built in riser like the pictures for the price quoted and after looking it up he assured me it did. I explained my back was really bad so I'm not able to get into a dryer that sits too low to the ground and again I was reassured it came with the riser. It was more than I had planned on spending but since I was getting the riser I was able to justify the purchase. I payed for it over the phone immediately and had it set for delivery and installation that Sat. When Sat came they started to take this dryer out with no riser. I explained that couldn't be my dryer because I had been assured TWICE that it would be one with a riser. After double checking the invoice I was told that was the dryer ordered. I explained this dryer simply wouldn't work for me and I had been very clear with the salesman in regards to needing one with a riser. Then came the upsell. The delivery driver called the store and they wanted to sell me a pedestal for an extra $250. The guy on the phone tried to tell me how I was getting a great deal on the pedestal to which I replied, not if I bought this dryer because I was assured it came with one for the price I was paying. I was so upset with the idea that I was basically expected to buy an extra part to get what I was promised, I refused delivery. I'm guessing most people would just pay for the upsell, especially after going without a dryer for a week with 3 foster children. Believe me I was tempted. After looking up reviews on Yelp it looks like I'm not the only one who's experienced such poor service from Kelly's. In the end I THANK GOD they tried to pull the upsell with me. After refusing delivery I went online and found out LG is actually number one on the consumer reports list. Electrolux was not even in the top ten. I ended up going with an LG from Home Depot AND got free delivery! Something I would have had to also pay extra for with Kelly's. Saved me over $300 for a much better dryer. read more

We bought a washer and a matching dryer on separate occasions, and the floor sales people were friendly, knowledgeable, and not at all pushy. It was more expensive than a big box store, but, unlike Lowe's or Home Depot, THERE WERE PEOPLE TO WAIT ON YOU. Also, the men doing the delivery and installation took our old ones away, and fit the newer, bigger machines into our very tight laundry room (I thought we were going to have to take down a door and part of the wall to make them fit). It so beat our experience with Lowe's when we bought a dishwasher, and the installation man broke it installing it, and Lowe's insisted we had to go through the manufacturer or repair. When we showed up, they were very friendly and helpful. We came in for a bed, and left with a couch too. Hell they even hooked us up with overstock pillows to go with our new bed, at a discount rate. Which Matthew and Jake helped load into our truck. About a week later, we decided we needed a new twin mattress for our son. We price compared and found a decent twin foam mattress at walmart for $99 dollars. So we decided to make a trip to Ashleys to see if they could compete. Charles Gratiot, of Kelly's appliances customer services, has been one of the very most helpful customer services reps I have ever encountered. We had a Miele microwave convection oven combo that died after 2 years. It had a 2 year warrantee and I wasn't certain when it quit working as I didn't think of the warrantee and called a repair man. When I saw that it might still be under warrantee, Charles kicked in to help me. It took months before Miele agreed to cover it but Charles was with me every step of the way. When the repairman finally came and fixed it, on warrantee, he credited Charles assistance and perseverance with Miele. HE IS THE BEST and turned me into a very loyal Kelly customer. read more

The gentleman who brought it weren't very positive at all. The tubing we had someone set p wouldn't work. They put the fridge up against the wall where the tubing came out. . Tubing underneath and coming the other side. They said we don't do that. Okay , well maybe tell me someone who does. Nope. Asked for a recite. We don't do that. Emailed asking for it no response. Very few words but nothing like I'm sorry let me try and call my boss to see if we could help you fix it. So , we paid for a $1400 fridge and have a fridge. I purchased an over-the-stove microwave on 12/30/22. I was told it would be at the warehouse in 7 to 10 days. I called on day 11 and was told it was just shipped and would be here in 7 days. I had not been notified of the delay. The salesperson did not apologize and said to notify him if I wanted to cancel the order. The following day I asked to speak to a manager. A very nice man found a similar microwave in the warehouse and said I could pick it up in 2 days. In 2 days the microwave could not be found. I decided to wait for the original microwave and asked a second salesperson to ask one of the Kelly's to call me. I did not want to scream or yell. I wanted to ask that salespeople be reminded that good customer service should include an apology when applicable. I also wanted to ask that someone find out why the shipment was late and why the microwave could not be found. After I received the microwave, the original salesperson called to see how I liked it. I again asked for one of the Kelly's to call me. It is now over a month and I have heard nothing. I did receive a $25 gift card to their kitchen store. Meanwhile, the man who was to install the microwave brought me a counter microwave from his home for me to use! What a difference in how to care for a customer. read more

We went to Kelly's Furniture looking for a couch. We bought a dining table from them last year and are very happy with it, so if you are paying cash you will probably be ok, they have nice furniture. However, the problem today came when the salesperson quoted us one figure for the couch and then AFTER she ran my credit and saw what I had been approved to borrow came back with a price that was nearly TWICE the original price to actually order. There was also some confusion about which "grade" our desired leather was, even though the sample was clearly marked with the less expensive option. After we politely declined to order the mis-quoted $8k couch she tried to show us several other couches that looked nothing like the one we wanted to order and were not at all our style, she clearly just wanted to sell us whatever to close the sale, even if it wasn't something we actually wanted or would like. Very frustrating and we will not be back, ever. I do not recommend. read more

I spoke with Tom who said that they don't take back ACs and that's on the receipt. I checked the invoice they gave me. It does NOT say that. He said the only thing I could do was call Frigidaire customer service. I called them. Twice. Automated message states they are too busy and couldn't take my call. I will never shop at Kelly's again. This is specifically about the CAFE Refrigerator. We paid a veritable fortune for it -- over $3000 -- waited for many weeks (as everyone does these days), finally got it installed--and it runs loudly ALL The Time! It's ruining our mealtimes as we live in a small house and really can't get away from the racket. It's the fans. It's a "normal" sound. We feel that Kelly's salespeople should have been upfront about this terrible defect. The salesman asked about the brand of our washer and dryer, and sold us the very inexpensive part needed to stack the appliances we had at home. Money saved! Recently, in search of double wall ovens, we yet again returned to Kelly's. This time we met Todd Edgar. We had done a *lot* of research and were pretty sure of what we wanted. Todd really knows his stuff! He answered our questions, provided knowledgeable insight, and researched our concerns. I especially appreciated his ability to communicate information clearly. I have known that Kelly's uses the "used car sales" tactics of appliance sales and given my choice would never work with them. However, we had a house built a year and a half ago and the builder buys his appliances from Kelly's for his builds (probably because they sell him appliances at a discount) so it was out of my control. Over the past year and a half we have had several issues with our dishwasher and Kelly's has always deflected. Now our dishwasher will not function and after calling Kelly's they deflected again and essentially said there is nothing they can do because they only warranty it for one year. I am in construction myself and have done repeat business with the Home Depot off of Cherry Ave in Salem and can say that it is a night and day difference between the two companies. As much as I would like to support a small family owned company like Kelly's there is no way I would ever buy anything from a company that won't back their products. read more

If there were an award for the worst customer service Kelly's would certainly win. First the salesman knew very little about the high-end appliance we wanted and wouldn't ask anyone else to help us. Then he told us that one of the features we wanted wasn't available. We were pretty sure it was so we insisted he check. We were right. When the appliance was delivered a part was missing. We left voice mail after voice mail with no response. We complained and were told he'd call us. He didn't. We discovered that he'd forgotten to order the part! When it finally arrived at Kelly's we told them we needed it immediately as it was already weeks late. Our salesman promised to deliver it to our house, but he was a no-show. No phone call, nothing. We were really disappointed that Kelly's would carry a product so problematic, and that they were so indifferent to our needs when the product failed. We bought a suite of kitchen appliances from them. The refrigerator is two years old, and the compressor went out. When we sought some guidance about how to remedy the situation, the service desk simply responded, "You should have bought the extended warranty." I shouldn't have to buy an extended warranty to cover an appliance's second year! That kind of durability is criminal even if you're entertaining the prospect of "planned obsolescence." That's the kind of response a jailhouse lawyer gives when he wants to deny his responsibility based on a technicality. The least they could have done was offered to intercede with LG on our behalf. Maybe we got a "lemon." Maybe we caught the service desk on a bad day. But maybe Kelly's turns its collective back on its customers as soon as the product is out the door. Regardless, we can't afford the kind of money (and aggravation) we spent with Kelly's. When asked, we will steer people away from Kelly's. read more

We went to Kelly's to buy appliances for our new home because that's where the builder sent us. Will not buy anything from them again. After the sale service is not great. They tried to install a damaged refrigerator but the builder rep rejected it. Anew one was installed several days late but just as we moved in. Then the dishwasher failed the first time we used it. Sales rep said to drop soap pod in a utility rack but the machine screamed at us (literally) so we shut it down. When a repairman showed, he said the installer failed to open the water supply to the appliance. Also noted that a badly cockeyed screw had scratched the tool of the door. Kelly's rep said that was the builder's fault. All bullshit to me. read more

Kelly's Kitchen center is the place to go in Salem if you are looking for the perfect gift for the person that loves to bake or cook! They have such a great selection of quality items and will gladly help you find what you are looking for. I have enjoyed many cooking classes there as well. It is a great date night with couples or night out with girlfriends! Through the years we have also bought many appliances at Kelly's and feel like we have gotten great service and are so happy to support local! I give them 5 stars because I would absolutely recommend them to a friend! read more
