we purchased a Daikin system to replace our 20 year old Coleman system. the salesman showed me a model in the middle of the brochure. promised I would be saving about 40% on my electric bill. on the contract beware because they state but they don't guarantee any savings. our system was improperly installed and it took 3 years before that was diagnosed and fixed countless phone calls to have them out. are kilowatt hours have went up as high as 69% more than my broken system. it was the worst decision of my life to replace my broken Coleman system. to be fair advantage did offer me a refund, I wanted a system that was properly installed and working right from the beginning but they would not honor that. read more

We've had problems with this company for close to 4 years. Why am I just writing this now? Because I was going to call to get our "VIP" maintenance done for the fall and I got pissed off all over again. Got to find someone else. We got an expensive Daikin system. Here are the bullet points: *they installed the system wrong. Didnt even bother to hook electric up to upstairs thermostat. *it took a couple of repair visits for them to figure that out. In the meantime I had a tech mansplain to me that I didn't know what cold or warm air felt like when I told him the system was blowing cold air when it should be heat. *more "repair visits" *at some point they discovered the upstairs thermostat didn't get connected *"fixed that" * still had problems * finally demanded a manager come check it out. Guess what... they failed to install an additional vent which caused too much or too little (can't remember) pressure in tge system *they fixed that on their dime * our heating and cooling bill dropped about 40% year to year after that adjustment * end of it? No. We've had multiple issues resulting from our VIP maintenance appointments that require them to come back out to fix (like no coolant). They are one of the worst businesses I have ever come across. I would never recommend them. Im finding someone else. We've put up with too much crap for way too long. read more

Pretty good, cleaned my ducts. I found a large pile of debris clogging my air filter about a month after they were there. It was a lot, like two handful's. The tech probably forgot to change the filter after cleaning the ducts as that filter is what catches stuff and keeps it from going farther into the air handler. I did reach out to them, got one response, responded to that, and was ghosted. read more

Brand new heat pump installed on Feb 27, worked for 3 days, then failed. It has now been down for a week, with a part ordered on a brand new heat pump. I arranged to have this company come out and fix my furnace in the winter. they arrived as planned and spent an hour or so attempting to fix it and finally left stating that he needed to return with another fellow who "knows this stuff inside and out". He didn't return for 2 weeks (stating that a part was needed). Upon return he stated that the part was not needed and again, needed another fellow to come take a look. Four weeks later (no heat in the meantime due to inability to fix) the two fellows came out and "repaired" the furnace using the existing parts. Upon them leaving, I was happy the heat was back on yet discovered the next day that my thermostat was no longer programmable nor did my house fan work. Rather than trusting these incompetant technicians to return and mess up the system further I contacted another company who were able to correct the incompetence of Advantage Heating quickly. They installed a heat pump and furnace for my 91 year old mom. Many months later she still does not have an approved permit. She calls and asks for help but they give her the runaround. So we are wondering if we should file a complaint with CCB or file lawsuit for breach of contract. avoid this company if you care about customer service. read more

We got our heating and air systems installed in the summer of 2023. So far they have needed to come out 5+ time to fix their work. The ducting has come undone multiple times and we've gone without heat/air during some of the hottest/coldest times. The company was very helpful the first 4-5 time their installation failed, but after the last time it failed, I asked for a manager or owner to give me a call and I never received one. Over the last 5 months I have left 4 messages with their call center, and asked the tech who came out, to please have the owner call us. We have never heard back. I have used Advantage for over ten years for the maintenance of my electric furnace. They are always prompt and efficient during their appointments, and the office always friendly and helpful. My furnace motor failed this winter, and Bobby let me know exactly what was going on. Later, Brandon was kind enough to meet and carefully go over my options. I felt like I was getting enough information to make an informed decision, and did not feel pressured in any way. While I was waiting for a part to come in, and my furnace wasn't operational, the office called and offered space heaters. I thought this was a thoughtful touch. I was incredibly dissatisfied with my last visit. I reached out to them a few weeks ago in hopes that we could come to a resolution but they have chosen to disregard my email. When I scheduled this appointment I was quoted a $149 diagnostic fee, but was charged $169. The service call lasted roughly 10 minutes as the technician immediately identified the issue as the breaker being turned off. Given the brevity of the visit and how simple of a fix it was, it's excessive to have been charged the full fee. I would have also appreciated understanding the billing discrepancy between the quoted and charged fee. My family and I have been loyal customers for many years and I feel like this experience definitely doesn't reflect experiences we've had in the past. I wasn't expecting to be reimbursed in full - they have people and expenses to pay, but it would have been nice to be provided a discounted rate considering my appointment being cut short allowed the company to pick up additional jobs that day. My husband and I just purchased our first home right before Thanksgiving of 2023. Before purchasing our home we never looked into our heating and cooling ducts to see the condition of the system within our home. My husband used a flash light one day to see inside the main duct in the hallway between bedrooms. He said it looks like the duct hadn't been cleaned since 1957 when our home was built. I called Rachel at Advantage heating and air conditioning to tell her I thought a Xenomorph from the movie Aliens was living in my duct. She asked me a couple basic questions about my home and gave me a great quote for the work I needed to be done! I set up my appointment and Rachel had me send her a few pics of my furnace so they could determine the size of filter needed to replace the old one once the job was completed. A day before the guys were set to show up I got a courtesy call to remind me and to make sure the time slot was still ok. The guys called me a half an hour before they showed up to make sure we were ready. The guys showed up and introduced themselves as James and Abe. The guys explained what they were going to do and if we had any questions. James and Abe were terrific throughout the whole cleaning. It was the fastest two hours and boom all clean! I feel like the quality of the work done was top notch. The guys were nice and professional, the work was efficient and clean. Advantage came out to do diagnostic on our furnace, technician was here 30 minutes and said our board wasn't working and we needed a new one. They ended up quoting me close to $1,500 for the new board and installation. I decided to hold off on the repair and instead found a new board online for $89. Advantage said they wouldn't install a board I purchased myself and it that it had to be purchased through them if I wanted them to install, so I called another local company which said they would install it for $200 When the new company showed up they preformed another diagnosis and determined the board was fine and all that was wrong was a limit switch and they ended up fixing for $280. I am still stuck with the board I ordered for $89 for no reason but it could have been way worse if I had decided to pay the $1,500. Advantage did refund me for their diagnosis but still not happy with the service I received. read more

Our air conditioning stopped working on a very hot day recently, so I called Advantage and they had someone come out a few days later ( the soonest that I was available). Jamie and Taden were right on time and went right to work locating the problem and got our AC running again. Jamie also advised us of the potential for our heat pump to fail in the future, so we can talk to an estimator about replacing it soon. Mark helped us on our twice annual maintenance. Very professional and worked to keep costs down on unnecessary services. Love that any extra service not included in the maintenance plan is at an extra 20% off parts and labor because I already pay for the annual maintenance plan. I'm getting my ducts and dryer vents cleaned and they were so quick to both call for scheduling (while Mark was still here) and got me on the schedule two days from now. They also offer a reusable custom filter option so I don't have to keep throwing out the dirty ones which is great for the environment. When we bought our house last year, the seller hired Advantage Heating & Air Conditioning, LLC to perform a service on the furnace. The price was very good at $99.95, and they "took amp draws on motor and pump - inspected wiring - cleaned blower compartment - replaced air filter - checked coil - all working," Not bad for the money. However: they apparently didn't have the correct size of filter available, so they took two small filters and taped them together in a Z shape. If you visualize this, there is a significant gap between where the two filters overlap, thus negating the filter. So lots of unfiltered air went past the filter and made the fan, motor, and heat exchanges all dirty, in fact dirtier than they were before the service was performed. Face palm. read more
