Here is a copy of the letter I sent the owner almost a month ago. No reply. He states he cares about his customers but his actions say otherwise. I got the feeling he was after a quick dollar and had no 2nd thoughts about it. Letter was received by the owner on Sept 8, 2025. Work was done June 23, 2025. "Dear Jay, I notifying you that I intend to file a complaint with the OR CCB. You charged me $200 for refrigerant that, based on what they extracted, I did not need. My AC unit would not work and you would not come fix your error until July 3. He diagnosed that you overfilled the refrigerant and released it into the air. But, apparently, not enough because it was still overfilled. It cost me an additional $200 for refrigerant I did not need, $239 for another company to come out to diagnose the issue (too much refrigerant) and then $342.55 to vacuum the refrigerant out. Your check for $300 will not be cashed, it does not cover the out of pocket money I had to pay to fix your mistake. I will also be taking you to small claims court to get reimbursed." read more

This business recently serviced some heaters at a rental property for me. I had a new issue arise two weeks after the servicing. I tried to remedy it 4-5 times myself and decided to reach back out to him to get it fixed after those attempts failed. It turns out he's left the state and feels he has no obligation to help. The new issue is something that's never happened before and coincidentally only started after he serviced the unit. If I were allowed to give 10 stars, I would. My heater quit working on Saturday, November 18th. Contacted the warranty company and was informed that a technician would be out on December 8th. It's been in the 20's at night and the 40's during the day. I'm 68 years old and that didn't work for me. Impact Heating and Cooling converted my electric stove to gas two years ago and did an awesome job. I called and received a text back asking what problem was. No heat. I wasn't home. I actually don't know who showed up. My guest let technician in. He diagnosed the problem in 5 minutes. Thermostat needed new batteries. I didn't even know it took batteries. Called Impact Heating and Air this morning. Jay (Owner) responded very timely and squeezed me in. He arrived when when scheduled and diagnosed the problem very quickly. My furnace is a Lennox and his company doesn't service a Lennox. He replaced the very dirty filter and when he found that there is no voltage getting to the igniter he told me to call a competitor. Gave me their contact information and sent me a photo of the furnace model that they will need. We had Jay help us with service on our air conditioner some time ago and appreciated his quick response and care when repairing and explaining the problem. We called recently regarding a rebate available for a new furnace. He came out and offered an estimate and we had another company estimate as well. Jay was a lifesaver! I was so disappointed when Melton's came by and told me it would cost me thousands of dollars to fix my Rudd AC unit because it was nearly 20 years old! Of course, he suggested I might as well buy a new unit (from his company). I was devastated! I just had a ductless minisplit heating and cooling system installed a week ago. I had gotten 7 different quotes and it was down to Impact or one other local company; their quotes were pretty close, as were their reviews, but in the end I went with Impact. I called Jay because our heat pump wasn't heating the house. He took the time to talk me through a couple simple steps involving turning the heat on to Emergency heat for the winter. Shockingly, we had the heat on vacation mode and therefore it wasn't putting any heat out. Within seconds of turning the emergency heat on, we had heat on in the house! Hallelujah!! I cannot tell you what a relief it is since our granddaughter comes tomorrow and the outside temps are in mid to high 20s at night. We usually set the temp through the thermostat and didn't even realize we had something called emergency and vacation settings. Thank you Jay! We are having him come out to make sure everything is working well when driving conditions are safer. Update: We had Jay come out a few days later and look our heating system over. He quickly put in a new condenser in the heat pump. It's a good thing and none too soon. Turns out our heating bills were the highest we ever had. They went back to normal after his work. He did this during a period of icy cold weather. We were glad to get it fixed so quickly! Thank you, Jay! Update on 7/11/17: we've been having mid-upper 80 degree temps. & the air conditioning stopped cooling the house. So I called Jay. Jay worked super hard to get things working again as fast as possible! Turns out our motor died, which killed the module. Got them replaced and added 7#s of coolant.
