This post is warning people to NOT buy the extended warranty option. We have had great experiences with Hamilton's and its people. However, Hamilton's decided to partner with this company and therefore only gets 3 stars. (I was debating between 3 and 4). We bought a wall unit oven/microwave in 2021 that cost about $3k. The keypad went out. The error code is clear. The system notice tells you. We told the warranty people what the error code said. Extended warranty folks required I be home half a day. They arrive and tell me the oven needs a new keypad. Really?!?! Long story short, the oven is not repaired. It is now a full 2 months we have been without. We had to buy a countertop microwave, but still no oven. Extended Warranty keeps opening and closing tickets, and then stopped communicating because about 4 weeks after we started the process, the warranty expired. Now they don't think they have an obligation to finish the repair even though it started weeks before expiration. We had to order our own part and will install it ourselves. Thank you YouTube. Remedy will be to file small claims lawsuit for the value of the part and cost of the warranty. I only hope Hamilton's makes right with future customers and refuses selling this shoddy warranty product. read more

I left a review a few days ago about how great my buying experience was. Since then I had my refrigerator delivered and installed. It was pouring rain that day like a monsoon. That meant the delivery guys were getting soaked as they navigated my driveway to the front door. We first bought a freezer from a sales person named River. We were so happy, we returned two weeks later and purchased a refrigerator. River was very knowledgable and easy to work with. In both cases the delivery went smoothly. When the refrigerator was delivered the the delivery guys needed to remove the doors to fit it through the patio door. They were very accommodating. We recently purchase a refrigerator from Hamilton's Appliance and couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. Carla, our sales person, listened to what we wanted and directed us to the choices that met our criteria. She answered our questions but never tried to steer us to something that wouldn't work for us. The delivery the following week was smooth and the two delivery men took out our old refrigerator and installed the new one. They did have to remove the door to the old refrigerator and to the house. We chose our second purchase with Hamiltons on purpose over the competition because of the first great experience with a washer and dryer purchase with them. Chris worked with us to help us understand the great advantage and workings of the Wolf Induction Range we purchased after many comparisons and study of other brands. The installers spent the extra time necessary to get the range in place, all hooked up, capped off the gas and removed our old gas range, which was appreciated. This professional range is simply awesome and we will be on a learning curve for awhile for all that it does! It is great to know that Hamiltons back up their sales with dependable service... we truly feel that they have the customer's interest and satisfaction as a prime directive in what they do. Consequently, they will be at the top of our list of suppliers for our future purchases because of this. read more

We have been looking for a new fridge for a while now, and in early August we decided it was time -- so we decided to try a locally owned appliance store, instead of a big box. The sales staff at Hamilton's did a great job helping us find a fridge in the style we wanted, while still fitting the fairly tight dimensions of our kitchen. We were able to check out the floor model of a GE that would fit, and it was exactly what we wanted. Buying appliances in the current era is not for the faint of heart -- we had looked at fridges in 2019, but decided to wait... and we paid dearly for that. Prices for all appliances if up considerably in the last 2-3 years, regardless of where you buy from, so it's just something you have to accept. The other area still impacted by past COVID shutdowns is availability and delivery. We were given a 3-week timeline, which we thought was great, compared to longer lead-times we'd heard about last year. Our fridge actually came into Hamilton's warehouse 4 weeks after purchase... but we wanted our old fridge hauled away, so we then had to wait for delivery... which was scheduled for another month later. We ended up with a schedule conflict on the first delivery attempt, and then Hamilton's delivery crew all got sick on the second attempt; but the third time was the charm. Overall, it took us 3 months to get the new fridge, but it would have been 2 if we hadn't needed to reschedule the first delivery. Thru it all, Hamilton's was great to work with, and they communicated with us throughout the process. The delivery guys were efficient, yet careful, and they got the new fridge up and running in short order... and we love the extra space of the new one! I wish we had known about Hamilton's when we bough other appliances 5+ years ago, but now we know... no more big box stores for us. read more

Our second experience with Hamilton's. We bought a dishwasher during one of their sales. On delivery, it turned out that the unit was fractionally too large for the enclosure of the unit it was replacing. The installer was pleasant and knowledgeable - he explained the issue to us and promised to make sure that the office knew what was going on and that he'd be the one returning if/when we got a replacement. Which, eventually, we did. Although I'm not convinced that we got the same quality unit as the one we'd purchased on sale - and, for that matter, got a "sale price" for the replacement - we did eventually receive a dishwasher which, although it's got a couple of hiccups, seems to be working ok. Major kudos to the installer! read more

We have used Hamilton's for all our appliance needs for over 10 years. Returning from vacation this week we found our freezer in the garage had died. I checked Hamilton's website and found a replacement unit I liked. I shot into Hamilton's same day and though the unit I was interested in wasn't available, Martin found me something comparable. My whole goal was buy and get delivered same day and haul old one away. I thought maybe I had a 25% chance of that happening. Martin however made it happen and delivered the unit himself and hauled my old one away the same evening. 5 stars to Martin and Hamilton's! read more

He gave us a wide range of alternatives and showed us several in the store and printed out a few other alternatives. He suggested we have someone come out and get accurate measurements before we bought a new cooktop. A great suggestion. The cooktop arrived quickly and was a good price. It was a fast and easy process. We have purchased all of our appliances from Hamilton and have had great success. Wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

I have lived in Gladstone for 10 years, and have gotten all of my appliances from Hamiltons. Last week reminded me why. I finally took the plunge and got a new Speed Queen washer and dryer set. After Martin and another guy loaded the washer into the back of the Suv, I sheepishly asked Martin if he could follow me home and help me unload it. He not only did that, but he put the dryer in his own car and drove it to my house! I should add that we were at the end of an ice storm, and the roads were still pretty slick. It was like 25 degrees out. Seriously Martin and Hamiltons are the best! Their service is above and beyond, and their prices are as good or better than online and big box stores. Brought my mother home in tears feeling humiliated after our final dealing with Hamilton's. I'm not sure exactly what type of family-owned business Hamilton's is but it is like no family I have encountered before and I support all local businesses to an extreme. I've never in my 40 years been treated this way by any appliance company or any retail supply store and I have enjoyed working in retail for almost 20 years. It took two of my mothers children to get her a refund on a single defective microwave. I could write an essay on what happened today but bullet points will have to do for a review and I am hoping my Yelp status will let you know that I do not write one-time-wonder reviews. I love my community. Brass Tacks. Many of them and I do not take my reviews lightly. I don't enjoy this one at all. Circumstances. (Note all from a specific salesman that I will not name or otherwise one of the owners who I will also not name). - Sold "new" microwave to my mother - Microwave would not work (popped the breaker 4 times) - Sold as "new" was dented, scratched and had a defective door - Microwave came without box or operators manual. When she requested an operators manual she was ignored - Upon observation of said microwave it was apparent that the microwave was used - Salesman (when I returned with my mother) claimed that it was new and the Installation Manual was in fact the Operation Manual. When I asked another salesman if the manual I was holding was the Operation he politely and honestly confirmed that it was not (as was obvious I just wanted another salesman to confirm it) - Upon further "investigation" salesman and owner confirmed that in fact it was used and mistakenly sold as "new" to my mother (here is where it becomes important to note that my mother is 70years old) - The salesman proceeded to start paperwork to sell us another microwave for $499 (refunding for the first defective and company self admittedly "used" microwave after the fact) and only with the added cost of a second installation fee. (She bought the orginal one at $229 + $100 installation) - We decided it best to obsorb the installation fee and ask for a refund on the used microwave sold as new in order to avoid conflict. At this point she just wanted to go home - The owner informed us that all companies (and I quote him, Lowes, Standard TV, ECT) used outside contracted installers - Two men showed up to uninstall the microwave. One was irritated and claimed to be one of the owner's fathers.. So, not a contracted installer? We were confused. - Salesman offered to install a new microwave that we could go buy from a competitor for free? We asked for the refund which they said would be provided (minus the installation fee of said product) as soon as they recieved their microwave back. No problem. I waited for the installers and proceeded to call Hamilton's to confirm that their installers had the microwave. A gentleman I had not spoken to before (very polite) said that they did have it back. - I decided before we went back to finalize my mothers refund that I would involve her son as well. Even though they had confirmed over the phone that they did get the microwave back in the same condition they had left it, they still called (in front of us) the "installers" to confirm that they had the product in hand. At this point they were so dismissively irritated... I'm exhausted, my mother is humiliated and just because I support my local companies does not mean I would support this incompetent, neglectful, manipulative, sly treatment. They would not provide paperwork of pickup. We were treated by the salesperson and an owner like we were idiots. The list is endless as to how I felt our family was treated. One other 1 star review on yelp addressing ageism for this company. Beware if your elderly parent is buying. Or any woman I might add as it took her son to actually get the refund.
