My refrigerator is 19, still in its teen years. It began to gradually lose its cool. I tried some self service, like dusting off the coils underneath, but that did not solve it. So called Hatten because they do the warranty work for the Whirlpool, Amana, Maytag, and Kitchen Aid brands, which increasingly share parts. Today, service calls are backed up about a week, and that fit my schedule. My dishwasher was also having some problems draining. They call with a time window the day before, for me 10AM-1:30PM. The service person arrived at 10AM precisely. The refrigerator was functioning, but not cold enough. He popped off the lower panel and measured the current draw on the motor - low. Slow coolant leak. "I've worked on hundreds of these and where they leak is where this tube comes up the back and then connects to the cold coils inside." He went right to the exact point and found the leak. It can't be rejoined, the part is $600, and the labor is $400. He called the factory, the part is not available any longer. So I guess this refrigerator is not going to have a fancy expensive prom as a gateway to adulthood! Today's refrigerators are designed for a 5-7 year lifetime. For the sake of energy efficiency, they are noisier and cycle on and off more often. They will not even get past first grade! He also took apart the dishwasher, fixed some loose connections and reset the brains. Though Hatten is not a Bosch warranty provider, they work on those. His comment is that they are well worth maintaining and was able to discuss what goes wrong and give some parts tips. The tech that visited was Rob. He is very experienced, very fast, and talking to other dealers in new appliances with years of experience, he has an excellent reputation in the appliance repair community here. You never want to call for appliance repair, right? They are just supposed to last forever! If you do need repairs, this company is recommended. read more

My review will read much like the others here, but I'll try to be brief. My fridge was under warranty, being only 5 months old, and Hattan's was the authorized service provider the manufacturer uses. There were a number of pre-emptive excuses about parts shortages, but the necessary part was in stock with the manufacturer. Unfortunately Hattan's didn't order it until more than a month after the service request. Michelle and Jessica at Hattan's are the front office people you'll speak to, and they will make one excuse after another with zero apology, sympathy or follow up. After lost parts, missed service appointments, and finally showing up and making matters worse (the problem started with a malfunctioning freezer. Once the tech came and went, the fridge wouldn't work either), I finally told the manufacturer that I refused to work with them any more. Bottom line, I'm ten weeks and 26 phone calls in, and still a busted appliance. Every single time I called to follow up, they'd ask ME if the things THEY were supposed to be doing were done, like are the parts on order/what's the tracking #/when are they due to arrive? Terrible. I had warranty worked that was scheduled by the manufacturer. I made arrangements with my work to be available for their repair man to show up. Hattan's called a hour before they were due to arrive and canceled. I was told that I would need to reschedule at a later day via a zoom call with a 3rd party repair company to determine what parts were needed. So i did that. That person was not able to determine what parts were needed and I was told that Hattan's would be reaching out to me to reschedule that work. That never happened. When I called Hattan's their mailbox was full and I couldn't leave a message. I tried several times overall several days. That same thing happened. I tried again later down the road, but i could not get anyone on the phone. I left multiple messages to call me back. No one ever did. These guys are the worst. read more

Working with Hattan's Appliance Repair has been less than enjoyable. I have had issues with my fridge for 4 months now and it is still not fixed. In fact IT IS WORSE OFF THAN IT WAS! I am so upset words cannot explain. My fridge is not cooling, I have food going bad and it is a waste of money and time. In the time that I have been working with Hattan I have had 5 service men out to my house and every time they show up they do not have the part, or they are thinking that they are the first one there and need to assess the fridge. Finally they sent a tech out and he "fixed" the fridge with the parts we have been trying to get the whole time. It has been a few days and STILL my fridge is not cooling, and now my ice maker is not working. This company has been hell to work with. When we call them we are lucky to get through, half the time the answering service says they are to busy and sends us to a voicemail that is full and we are unable to leave a voicemail. If you have a choice I recommend you do not use Hattan's as they do not take repairs seriously. They even sent out a repair guy who sat there with my fridge wide open on the phone with another tech. He was upset at what the tech was asking and was waving his hands at the phone and rolling his eyes. Not only did he leave my fridge open for the whole duration of the call he was rude and unprofessional. Unbelievable. Horrible horrible service. read more

I never like leaving one-star reviews especially within the past two years and I've really been considering whether to post this or not. But I wish I had read more of the negative reviews before calling Hattan's. The short of it is that they broke my fridge when they serviced it and I had to buy a new one. Last March, my dishwasher wasn't working well so I called Hattans. They came over and after assessing it, said I needed a new soap dispenser, which they'd have to order. My SubZero was showing a "Service" message and they said that would need a new part too, which they ordered. I was out of town until mid-April and when Hattan's returned with the parts, the dishwasher worked fine but my fridge stopped cooling after they put in the new part. I told them of the issue and they returned the following week since I was out of town for a few days. They left before making sure that the temperature would go down. It didn't. I called and of course, they were so busy they couldn't come until 5 days later. At this point, I decided to buy a mini-fridge. At least it was only me and my dog but I can imagine it would have been worse for a large family. After a third failed attempt, I called Appliance Hospital. When they checked the fridge they showed me that Hattan's had broken a part which is why it stopped cooling. They ordered a new part for over $1,000 but it took another 3 weeks for them to come back and fix it. The fridge did cool but only for 24 hrs. I ended up having to buy a new one thanks to Hattan's mistake. I called and the receptionist was always very nice, so were the repairmen but their work is terrible. NO NO NO! Don't use this company! We tried to give Hattan's the benefit of the doubt. We purchased a complete kitchen from Standard TV and Appliance in 2017. When our GE refrigerator started malfunctioning four years later, Standard didn't have enough technicians (after pandemic) and referred us to Hattan's. I was excited to use a company from the same town. They answered the phone and scheduled us quickly. The service was done as soon as the part arrived and the price was fair. When our dishwasher went ka-poot in June 2023 I didn't hesitate to reach out, despite seeing a lot of negative reviews. Again, they were responsive and replaced the control board. A $500 dollar repair. Fast forward to October of 2023. The dishwasher stopped working again and exhibited the same symptoms as before. When I called the office I would get a prompt to leave a voice mail but the box is always full. No one ever answers. Finally emailed and got a response . Was put on the schedule and told a $149 return fee would be charged, but if the problem was the same there would be no additional charges. Winning, right? On the day of the repair, after taking time off from work and making arrangements to be home, I get a call from the tech shortly before the appointment time saying, since the problem appears to be the same, he will skip coming out and simply order the part. Well, alright. There has been a delay and no communication from the company. Any update I've received has been by reaching out myself. I was told the part was on backorder and I would be notified as soon as it was available. It's now February of 2024, and I still can't get in touch with anyone. Six months with no repair. I've sent three emails since January 18th, two weeks apart, asking for an update. Crickets. I tried calling last week but now I just get a message that the call cannot be completed as dialed. I went to the business address, a private residence, and knocked for about ten minutes. Someone was inside, but didn't answer the door. Oh, and their listed website is now defunct. Think someone forgot to pay their internet and phone bills? The attached photos give you an idea of what I'm dealing with. If the garbage dump outside is any representation of the professionalism of the company - be wary. The eyesore of the entire neighborhood (a nice newer neighborhood by the way). I could have another company come diagnose the problem and make the repair for another $500. Better off buying a new unit. I'm not sure how this place stays in business. read more

Terrible company. The first rep they sent out yelled at me over the phone because I was not at my house when he showed up unannounced. When he was there, he was completely unhelpful, complained about his company's lack of communication, and left without fixing anything. The second rep that came out said that the dishwasher hose was leaking, but did nothing to fix it, and offered no communication as to when they'd be able to get someone else out to fix it. I called them and left many messages with no response. If you have an appliance issue, find a different company to fix it. They are awful. Recent update: apparently it was the owner of the company that came out to fix my dishwasher. It was relayed to me from a customer service rep from Hattan's that he had actually marked the job as complete (even though he told me it was still broken and that they were going to order a part and come out to install it asap). Caveat Emptor! If we could give them -0- stars, we would! Their service technicians were neither qualified, nor licensed, to work on our refrigerator.  After over $1,000 of parts and service calls, they walked away stating, "we are not licensed to work on this refrigerator". One would think they might have known that before accepting the project. We received all of our money back from the credit card company, and to their credit, they were wise enough not to challenge the dispute! If you choose to use them, (we will not), it might be a good idea to ask if they are qualified and or licensed to perform service on your appliance, prior to engaging their services. A colossal waste of time and money. Had a KitchenAid dishwasher that wasn't heating up. Technician diagnosed heating coil was bad and said he needed to order. When part was in, a different technician said dishwasher was inaccessible and floor would have to come up to install the part; refused to work on it saying I would need to call a floor guy to extract it. Still charged me for service call. Believing this "professional", I didn't really examine it and got a well recommended handyman out to assess. He laughed, lowered the screwed feet and easily pulled it out. Then had to reschedule Hattans to put the part in. Weeks later they finally put in the part, charge me, and... the dishwasher was the same as it was and not heating up. A second company said it looked like they never even changed the part. Completely dead and didn't appear new. Criminal or incompetent, I'll never call them again. read more

This all started in October of 2019 It is now September 2020 NO follow through unless I initiated it Poor customer service Three times parts were ordered. Three times the wrong parts showed up in the mail for our IKEA microwave. Even after the repair guy came and ordered the "right" part. All I needed was a simple start button and the housing for it. After all of that, I was then told the part was on backorder and that they would let me know when the part was back in stock and on it's way. Months rolled by (luckily I was able to borrow a friends microwave that she was not using. I needed one for thanksgiving and Christmas) Late winter I inquired about the part to see if it was back in stock. "Oh! Your order has been canceled because it was so old. We thought we had taken care of it already" ZERO follow through or even care to research the order before canceling? Kimberly told me she would reorder the part. But it was still backordered. Then I got an email from her in May saying the part was back in stock and should be mailed to me within a week. No part ever showed up. And still hasn't. They completely dropped the ball on this entire thing. I've got an entire email trail with all the exchanges on it. At one point my friend needed her microwave back. I decided to take matters into my own hands and pull the microwave out of the housing, take the front panel off, take out the broken button, and just pull the entire mini circuit board with the actual start button on it and let it dangle out the hole where the original plastic button and housing once were. At least now I could start my microwave. I emailed them to inform them what I had done and it got their attention. Once again I got the "it's been ordered" scenario and then heard nothing for weeks, AGAIN. Recently, after waiting a few more months, I decided to check in via email. I got "Kimberly is out of the office on family vacation" automated email. I waited a week to see if I would hear back after she got back from vacation. Nothing. I sent another email asking if she got my email from a week earlier. Nothing. Now, I'm a very patient man and I'm pretty handy and I can understand things being out of your hands and things get back ordered. But this is seriously some horrible customer service. Today, I decided to take things into my own hands AGAIN. I did a search online for "Ikea microwave start button" (I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. I guess I had trust in Hattan's that they would follow through) and BOOM! first place that came up had my parts in stock. I called them, ordered the parts that will be here next week, and I will just fix the microwave button myself! If you decide to use Hattan's appliance and they tell you the part is on back order, do a search for the part yourself online. More then likely, you will find it. Then call another repair place and have them fix it for you if you can't fix it yourself. I decided to call instead of placing the order online just to make sure the parts I ordered were the right ones. The sales guy on the phone even researched and looked at diagrams to make sure it was the right parts. THAT is what customer service is about. Update: I called IKEA customer service (that had originally given me the contact info for Hattan's as the repair facility they use for the Portland metro area) to inform them of what has been going on over the past 11 months. The operator was very thankful that I let them know. She decided to do an inventory check on the parts and saw they had over 600 of them in stock. Update #2 Lori from Hattan's called me back today saying that there was confusion on which part to order and was willing to order the correct parts. I informed her that I had already found and ordered the correct parts and that IKEA checked stock for me as well and had them in stock. She was pleasant on the phone (no apology was given) but was hopeful that I finally get the right part. At this point I would think they would at least find some sort of way to make up for all the fumbled balls. Like maybe offer to come out and put the part in at no charge? Or refund the $30 I paid for a wrong part they told me to order? Anything? Something? No? read more

We called the Maytag number on Monday, May 22nd, 2023 for our dryer because we were having a problem, and Maytag assigned us a company, Hattan's Appliance Repair. Maytag told us they connected with Hattan's, and Hattan's would reach out to us to schedule a 4 hour service window for Friday, May 26th. Hattan's never called us to do so and so my wife called them on Thursday, May 25th and left a message and didn't get a call back. On Friday, a man from Hattan's called my wife five minutes before arriving, and said he was coming to check out our dryer. The man said he couldn't find our house. Sarah gave him the directions and address and asked him why they didn't call to schedule. The man said he was not aware of that, and he needed to talk to his receptionist to make sure she was delivering calls. The man then turned on the dryer, and it wasn't having the problem right then and so he asked my wife what the problem was. Sarah said it was a certain sound it was making. Sarah played him a recording of the sound and the man said, I know what that is, it is the motor, it is under warranty, said he will order the part necessary, charged us $199 and said they would call us to schedule the installation. He said the parts would all be covered but the labor we would have to pay for. After a week, we called them, and left a message, and they didn't call back. After two weeks, we called again, and left a message, and they didn't call back. After three weeks, we called 4 times, and neither of their phone numbers would accept messages. This is the fourth week, it is June 24th, 2023, we called, and left another message, and they have not called us back. We have a kid at home, a business to run, and our life without a dryer has been difficult. read more

Impressed with KJ, the repairman! Called to get someone to come out and look at our 20+ year dryer. KJ was very professional & friendly! He thought initially that it might be a bad motor, but wasn't convinced so he decided to open things up and look inside. What he found was a loose screw on the drum had worn a hole on the frame and caused the drum to stop. He tightened the loose screw. He tightened it up and put everything back together! It works like new..."Another 10 years of service". Nice not to be shopping for a new dryer! Definitely recommend this business and if you can get KJ, he will treat you right! read more

I was informed on May 9th the necessary parts for my microwave was not available, and since I had to pay $438.95 in advance for the parts replacement, Hattan's decided to "send" other parts with John for the job. This is ludicrous! to treat any customer with that low of respect! I have now waited 7 weeks for a full refund, which I was "promised" by Hattan's. Going into the 8th week of waiting for my full credit on my Visa card, and phone calls not being returned, this is my other option - and my attorney will be on my side. I was referred to hatton's appliance repair company by a plant's sales company that has a good reputation . However, after attempting to call hattons over several days, I kept getting recorded messages saying they were too busy to answer the phone and to leave a message, but the message box says they are full and cannot take a message. After a third day of these calls, I have decided to call the appliance company that referred me and tell them they might want to reconsider using them as a resource. The other ratings they received, which I didn't read till after I was having problems contacting them, are poor too. Our Jenn-air Oven/Micro built in is unfortunately a lemon for the price we paid. It sounds like the control panel is destined to burn out regularly. The first one lasted just over three years and it took nine months to get a replacement from Whirlpool. I made my appointment last night on yelp,with the manager. My repairman I had for many years, retired. The reviews were good, and the manager made it easy to make a appointment. Alex came, and was a little later, then I had ask for but, assured me,he would be done, with in my time frame. He explain what was wrong and what the cost would be to fix it. I felt it was reasonable. I ask Alex if he would mind vacuuming behind my dryer. There was know problem with that, and put everything, back to the way it was! I would definitely have them back! Our dryer stopped heating, called this company and they were able to come out right away, always good news. The cost to repair became as much as a new dryer. When the tech gave us a running total, we politely said we cannot continue with this dryer. The tech became very rude and said well why didn't you say you were going to get a new dryer. We didn't know until now that we needed too. He dumped all the parts in the dryer hole and left. The tech did not have booties for his shoes and left them on! Shame on us for not insisting he take them off. He did not have a drop cloth for all the removed parts and had them all over the upstairs NEW carpet. We cleaned all the gorilla paw prints he left over our walls. Everyone we know has a washer/dryer and this will not be a recommend from us, EVER. This is the WORST service I've ever had. The control unit on our fairly new ( less than 2 years) jennair oven/ microwave went out so nothing has been working for 2 months. We notified them right away and we're still waiting. The gave us one date and we waited for them and then they called saying they had a flat tired and wouldn't be out today. Terrible customer service. I was forced to use this company through an insurance claim. First, they changed the original appointment for two weeks later than the one set up with the insurance company with a time window of 8:00-5:00. They called the day before the appointment to narrow down the time, but then I couldn't get a hold of them, even after several messages throughout the day. I'm at the end of my service window and still haven't heard from them, and I have been in the house the entire day (haven't left at all). This is one of the worst repair experiences I've ever had. Addendum: It is now the end of the time window and I have still not heard back from Hattan's Appliance Repair. I have not heard from the technician who is supposed to come and make the repair. I called continuously from 4:20 until 4:55 and was unable to get in contact with a person, nor was I called back from the several messages I left. It makes me wonder if this company is a front for the insurance company, making getting the repair done so untenable that you end up hiring a different company so that the you hire somebody competent to get the work done so that the insurance company doesn't have to pay for the repair. read more

I have a fridge that is under warranty when my water went out. I went through the proper steps and 4 months later (2 consultations) it finally got fixed. After getting fixed I realized the door was off. I called the company who didn't answer after multiple, multiple calls and messages. I finally got through after a day that I just kept calling, I didn't know what else to do, and the lady said she was new and would have to get back to me, which they did but by email. I explained it looked like the repair person didn't put the door back correctly and they said it was not part of the water line so they couldn't fix it and had to make another claim. I ended up looking it up myself and it took 5 mins to just take the door off and put it on correctly. I understand the warranty part but stand by your workers and your work. If you do a job and something's not right you should come back and fix it, if it was a new problem fine but it was repairman error. I gave 2 stars because the way they handled the problem and did not care that their work wasn't done correctly. I think it was an honest mistake by the repair person but then I got pushed out which I did not appreciate. read more

When our 3 year old LG fridge stopped cooling, we had to throw out all our food. After contacting LG, they coordinated diagnostics and eventual repair with Hattan's. Working with Hattan's Appliance Repair, I experienced very good communication, prompt and effective repair, and a friendly repairman who gave me a lot of information about the fridge, the failure and repair, and refrigeration in general. Like I said, LG coordinated this service. But if I had to recommend a business for appliance repairs, I would gladly recommend Hattan's. read more

On October 22, 2020 I contacted Hattan's to come out and take a look at a burner on my gas range that wasn't working properly. This was an out of pocket repair, not a contracted warranty repair. On October 31 a technician came out, looked at the problem for less than two minutes and charged my card for $410, around 135$ in parts, and 275$ in labor to fix the problem. I was told they would get back to me shortly for a repair date. Three weeks went by and no phone call. So I called for an update and was told the part was on the truck and they could come the day before thanksgiving. Great. That day came and no one showed up. I made a call and learned that the part never came in. They expected it in two more weeks and would call me. Surprise, no phone call. I never received a phone call from Hattans unless I initiated it. Another call, they said they would work on sourcing it from another place. Two more calls to be told oh they don't actually have a timeline for it and never have. I told them how frustrated I was and they suggested I source the part myself and they will come install it. Turns out this igniter works on about 200 models of ranges from many different brands. I found it for 30$, instead of 102$ in about 5 minutes and it was at my house in two days. It sounds like generally if you can get the repair they do fine. But if you're like me and my generic igniter can't be bought from their one source then expect to wait while they sit there on your money with zero communication. Here is a hint... if you can't source your parts in three months while every major online parts retailer carries the part then your model of business stinks. I get it, pandemic etc. which is even more reason to be flexible on your sourcing. And no, I didn't have Hattan's come out in the part I sourced. I'd prefer never to give them a single cent again. Jason from Hattan's has been brilliant working on our Miele dishwasher. The scheduling is super easy and the work performed to an extremely high standard. We had to wait for a replacement part but Jason kept the Miele running in the interim by switching us from tabs to powder. Inspired! While he was here to finish the job he noticed some water under our refrigerator and promptly got to work fixing the drain! I can't praise Hattan's highly enough, I'll never use another appliance place. Great work and thank you! read more

We were referred to this company to repair our refrigerator. The first appointment was great. They came out and diagnosed the issue and ordered the part. When they returned for the second appointment to replace the part the tech said he would we need a second person to help. We expected a call back to reschedule and they never followed up. When we called to get them back out we were told they were going to charge us yet another service fee and couldn't explain the additional costs, so we asked for them to just give us the part. LG gave me the name of 3 authorized repair companies and I am so glad I used Hattan's Appliance Repair. When I first called, the lady (Leanne I think) who answered the phone was so nice, she listened really well. She explained their call out rate (the lowest of the three I called) and what potential other costs could be. The repair man Jake came out for the diagnostic visit during the promised allocated time. He was very friendly, thorough and professional. After investigation he was clear about what the problem was, what the cost would be and when he could come out with the required parts and do the repair. Two days later Jake was back, on time again and completed the repairs with his colleague Scott. Again they were, friendly, efficient and professional. They repaired my dishwasher - and it ended up being a small job when it could have been some thing major. I greatly appreciated them looking for the "small solution" first. They also made a repair on my washer. In the end there was a need to return to fix an issue that came up and they came back on the washer (sooner than I had expected though they were busy) and completed it. The Tech may be great but WHERE IS HE?? Electrolux uses this service for faulty equipment but after calling several times and only getting a recording I can see this is NOT A RELIABLE business. read more

No follow through or commitment to service. We had an appointment scheduled and confirmed. Before concluding our call I inquired as to when I should expect the technician but was told they could not provide a service window. The day of our scheduled service I took the whole day off of work. After waiting nearly the entire business day, 4pm, I called to check on the status of our technician. The woman who answered gave no explanation or apology and placed me on hold without asking. She later returned and said the appointment was never "pushed through". I explained I had a confirmed appointment and read her my confirmation email. Still without an apology she brushed off my explanation and offered to send a technician out the next day. At this point I refused and called another company with a sense of service. Do not recommend. read more

My compliments to Laurie and Scott for excellent customer service and communication. Laurie helped me by pleasantly reschedule appointments when I hadn't received my parts in the mail; and Scott answered all my questions and concerns to troubleshoot repairing my wine cellar.
