Avoid this place, the last thing thing Aaron is: honest. I paid $300 for Aaron to "fix" my pressure washer. He ended up replacing the engine. When I got it home that same day it wouldn't start so I had to haul it back to his shop and he had to do some additional work on it. TOTAL hassle. No apology and no refund. Next season I tried to start it and it wouldn't start. I have a bad shoulder so I asked Aaron if he could come to my place since I've got a bad shoulder it makes it hard for me to load the pressure washer into the vehicle and it's only 10 minutes away...and I've already paid him a lot of money. I had my Honda HRX217 lawn mower serviced at Aaron's Honest Engine. It had been more than a couple of years since I had any work done on it. I found Aaron's Honest Engine after going to other businesses, who basically told me to go somewhere else. I knew it would take a while to get the service done because I waited too late in the season to get a quick turnaround. I knew it need spark plugs, filters and an oil change. They also cleaned it up and sharpened the blades. My lawnmower has a key ignition and has not worked even after having new batteries put in twice. However, I could still use the pull start. it now starts with a turn of the key and without replacing the battery. This was the best and most reasonable service I have ever had on this lawnmower. Took my power washer in to be fixed. Two week wait that became three, only after prodding. Took it home and pump didn't work. Took it back and took four weeks to tell me it was unrepairable. I have a John Deere riding mower I had serviced at a local company. I bought it from them and had annual maintenance done diligently. The machine is only 4 years old. I first called here after seeing reviews on Yelp. So glad I did. Other repair shops whom were much closer were a couple weeks out to even look at it. I have an older Honda mower that I stupidly tried to put a new blade on with cheap 12 point sockets and ended up stripping the bolts. Aaron dropped everything when I came in and got into it. It was a bigger project than either of us figured and he ended up cutting them off. He asked for $20 as that is what the quick job should have been, I gave him more as the job took far longer due to the old rusted bolts seized on. The starter cord had ripped off my lawnmower. Both myself and two of my housemates had all tried for weeks to fix it ourselves- to no avail. We called in and I brought our lawnmower out the same day. What a pleasure to find an honest repair shop. This guy is a rare find. I took my 30+ year old MiniMac chain saw to Aaron to see if he could get it running for me. I haven't run it for many years and was afraid that the old stale gas in it may have ruined it. Within a week Aaron called and told me he had got it running, but not dependably. He said it needed a carburetor that was no longer available. He said that he might have a used one and he would call me back - would that be okay? I told him that maybe it wasn't worth fixing and maybe I should just give it to him for parts. He said it was worth fixing because you couldn't find a more reliable handy little chainsaw when they are working right. A little over a week later he called me and said he had it running reliably and had cleaned out 30+ years of gunk, old sawdust, replaced the spark plug, sharpened the chain, cleaned out the guide on the bar for less than I could buy a new saw. He is a great guy and I am sure this little saw challenged his knowledge and expertise. I have another old Mac chainsaw that I will be taking to him to perform his expertise on. He has my business from this day on and I will recommend him to anyone who has a need for small engine repair. I would give him a 10 star rating if it were available. read more
