Had a problem with a defective screen protector and since I happened to be near this location I went in. Very busy location so wait was a bit long - but in their defense it was during the holidays. One of the managers (Che) was attentive and checked people in promptly and ended up assisting me. Friendly staff here from observing during my wait. It's so spacious they should put in a coffee bar.. LoL Unfortunately the protector is not adhering to one side of my screen even after he said to give it a few days (it's been a couple of weeks) so I think I will have to take it back for replacement. read more

Shayna is the best customer rep I have interacted with in recent memory..anywhere! Exemplary customer service. I did not want a new phone, but I needed one. I am a tech-dinosaur and have little knowledge about smartphones. I got there at 9:45 am Saturday, there was a reasonable line. At 10:00 a nice, friendly guy rep took names and info questions, the line moved in a timely and organized manner. I can't say enough about Shayna; she was patient with me, informed, friendly, not pushy....I got the feeling other customer service reps way above average. The place is set up for covid, it's very comfortable and spacious. I was a bit nervous to go to this location because of past negative reviews, but once I got there and interacted with staff, my mind was put at ease. I walk into the store and ask about purchasing an S8 for my girlfriend for her birthday. The staff tells me that I need to sign up for a new plan. I tell them my girlfriend has a plan and I going to surprise her after she finishes work and we will be back to transfer her old phone to her new phone. They tell me you need to sign up for a plan to get a phone. I tell them that doesn't make sense I'm buying the phone out right. Still insisting that they can't do it. Boom I go down the street I walk out with the phone no problem surprise my girlfriend went back to the store and we just finish activating a Verizon S8 I even upgraded to the plus. Verizon needs learn if a customer is willing to pay good money for something don't be greedy and try to up sell. Shame on this Verizon. Don't go here they just want to up sell you. One of the worst shopping experiences EVER! 1. Waited almost 20 minutes before I even got to speak to a sales rep. (There was no one else in the store when I walked in). I KNEW EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED SO THIS SHOULDNT HAVE TAKEN LONG. 2. Sales rep neglected to mention a few added costs like $30 charge for a new contract? then advised me I cannot have unlimited DATA anymore. She said for the same monthly fee I could have X amount of DATA that would be more than sufficient because my current DATA usage was really low. I found out later that was not true. At 1/3 of my billing cycle I would have already used up 53%. 3. I agreed to the new contract, paid for the new phone, and a few extras. (cover, car charger). NOW I GET TAKEN TO SOMEONE WHO IS GONNA ACTIVATE MY NEW PHONE 4. The person who TRIED to activate my new phone took 15 mins until he decided to call tech support for help. Well, they couldnt help. THEY SAID IT WILL TAKE 2 HOURS TO ACTIVATE MY NEW PHONE!! WT Heck! I GOT MAD 5.I told them to cancel the entire order and I want my old phone and my old contract back. Which I finally got. HOWEVER, NOW, I cannot make calls or receive calls. I walked back to the store and was told .. I would not have phone service for about 2 hours. This is one of Verizon's main 'corporate' stores on the island. You would opt to go to this location for all problems/questions regarding your current phone and/or plan. Most of the other "Verizon" stores on the island just sell stuff or sign you up for a new plan. Definitely go here if you just want to talk to a human but don't want to speak to a representative over the phone. My biggest recommendation during COVID 19 time - to avoid standing in line outside, you can schedule an appointment through their website/app. Made the experience much easier and less stressful. You just show up a few minutes before your appointment, and they will check you in, and you get to skip the long wait line outside. read more

Verizon Wireless After buying an iPhone 4S on eBay and learning that the Verizon and Sprint iPhones use different technologies in their iPhones versus AT&T to prevent mass subscriber jumping from one carrier to the next, I was dismayed to find out that you can't really do unlock an iPhone 4S and switch it to T-Mobile when it was geared for Verizon. Probably $300 down the toilet, but I love my iPhone 4S and decided to come here and see what my options are, it I were to switch carriers. With that said, I ventured into this Verizon store on Keeaumoku Street, pretty much next door to Ala Moana Shopping Center and the Walmart / Sam's Club mega complex, along with Starbucks and Cold Stone Cremery - among others. I never had to come to this store, since my carrier is T-Mobile at the current time. The store is pretty nice for what it is. Kind of like the Apple Store, but more inviting and lots more color. Similar to a T-Mobile store, but just a different carrier. I guess you can get parking on the side streets or my personal favorite, parking at Walmart and Sam's Club. I walked in and not expecting much, but with an introduction to what Verizon has to offer. After browsing and waiting for a sales rep to come to me, I realize that I should have signed in. Like a bank in some way. I talked to the guy who checked me in and confirmed that the Verizon 4S could not be jail broken, no matter what. I did not want to damage the iPhone anymore, so I stopped trying to jailbreak / unlock the iPhone and just see if I could just look at my options in transferring my phone number and sign up for Verizon. I talked to Vanessa, whom was very professional, courteous, and friendly. She recommended me that the lowest price per month would be about $90 a month with unlimited text, data, and talk. Thought that was a fair and competitive deal. In the end, I left that Verizon Wireless store thinking that I can live with carrying 2 iPhones, since I am happy with my service with T-Mobile. While I don't plan on changing carriers any time soon, it was interesting to see what plans the other guys have, just in case I wanted to try and switch on over. While I have had friends complain about Verizon and its service, I guess it's like that with everyone. You love it or you hate it. That's why we have a lot of carriers for that freedom of choice, instead of staying with one and hating every minute of it. I walked in and was greeted, the guy that greeted me was talking to someone else who has entered before me, anyway I seen a girl who worked there also with a tablet in her hand and she looked at me, we literally made eye contact and then someone else entered and she started talking to him!!! I find this store hit and miss. Sometimes I get someone great and I walk out with everything I need. Other times, I can't get an answer to save my life. So far the score is 2 - 2, great to not-so great. I have a new iPhone 8. Ordered it online from Verizon. Yesterday I went in, wanted to exchange the case (did not like the color). But only the iPhone X cases are on display. So had to ask each question about the iPhone 8 cases and the guy would go look up the answer. Visited the store at 10:30 am on 12/22. Michael, one of the employees, is one of the rudest, most unprofessional workers I have ever interacted with. I was distressed that my brand new iphone was overheating and mysteriously formed cracks under the surface of the back of the phone. I explained to Michael that I hadnt dropped or slammed it at all and it's only been 4 days since I received my phone. Instead of helping me or figuring out my options, he adamantly accused me of lying and told me "go see if Apple buys your story." He raised his voice as he spoke to me and was extremely aggressive and glared at me. I was absolutely enraged and immediately spoke to the manager. I don't think this issue will go resolved and the horrible customer service has really disgusted me. Will be writing a formal complaint. Do NOT go to this location. Instead after this ordeal, I contacted a Verizon Wireless customer service rep ONLINE and they were immediately able to assist me and resolve this issue, and they were so much more respectful and friendly than this awful location. read more

Went to Verizon to spend a considerable amount of money. We brought our dog and when we arrived there was a German Shepard sitting inside. No problems. A man came to enter with his Pitbull (friendly as can be!) and my dog perked up so I brought her to say hi. The employee by the door instantly told the other guy he "can't bring a pitbull in here" and the manager came over and demanded he provide "papers" to let "that kind of dog" in. The pitbull showed nothing but signs of love and friendliness, absolutely NO aggression. I couldn't believe they were discriminating against the breed of a dog even though they showed no aggression. I have a small dog, Daschund Golden Retriever mix and the pitbull just wanted to be friends. I let the manager know that they were treating their CUSTOMER unfair and because of the way the handled the situation I would be spending my money at Costco. read more

Called this store after I realized I forgot my cell phone recharger @ home. I'm here on vacation (family reunion). Matt, who answered the phone put me on a hold for just a minute. He looked it up, no home rechargers in stock. He found rapid car rechargers though. Drove the rental car to the store & Darby greeted me in front & immediately took my request to a lady who helped me right away. She returned in a jiffy with the much needed recharger. I have only gone into Verizon retail stores twice and everytime I do they completely ignore what I ask. Or they change all my plans completely. Second time and again I now have to call to undo all the adjustments they made that I didn't ask for. If I could give this place no stars I would. I don't typically write reviews but this was by far the worst experience I've had. Not only did Owen change my phone plan without asking but added on without asking. I explained more than twice I just wanted to add a line to my current account. He was argumentative about everything. Online and on the app was offering me 25 to add a line. He not only changed my grandfathered account to some new one I didn't ask but also added more to my account making my bill over 300. Monthly. I'd like to say after hours and hours of my day on hold I was able to talk to a live person but Verizon not only makes you talk to bots online but also over the phone. 3 words: they don't care. I went to the store twice over the last two days and the overall attitude about customer service is just so poor. Both times I've ended up using their landline phones to talk to customer service for 60+ minutes to fix my issue (I'm literally writing this review as I stand here waiting for tech and sales support to fix my issue). Both associates I worked with clearly didn't care whether my issue got resolved or not. We've been with Verizon for many years now and have always paid a steep price (both in time spent and money paid). However, we decided to go back in store to ask about better deals. They were only able to recite the info on the "Plan" sheet (we can read, too) and when challenged as to why we should stay with Verizon, the only response was that they may have better coverage but that if we wanted to leave, so be it. They truly don't need or want business. In turn, we're changing our service provider to T-Mobile. Sure, their service may not be as wide as Verizon's (not proven by third party or statistically significant, by the way) but we don't go anywhere that remote anyway. Also, they are very responsive and truly appreciate your business. People are friendly and actually want to help you. They also have unlimited data plans and you can use your credit card for auto pay (something Verizon cannot do - greedy? Poor cash flow? Who knows.) Anyway, do yourself a favor, don't come to this store or even better, just don't use Verizon. If you want to pay money to a company who appreciates your business, just go somewhere else. read more

Verizon located in the Pacific Guardian Tower on Keaaumoku Street. I walked into the cellphone provider shop and was greeted right away. I noticed on this day that the shop was not as busy as the last time I visited. After I was checked in I was immediately greeted by Reg, one of the available service provider specialist. On this day I managed to get three things done with help from Reg. I was late in paying for my cellphone bill so Reg helped me in accepting my cash and credit card payment for my cellphone bill. Since I've been using a lot of data and went over the available data limit for the previous month Reg had changed my plan to unlimited data. That was the second thing to get done at this location. My last and final thing to get done at Verizon was to purchase a cable wire for my cellphone. I needed a replacement since the other cable wire was malfunctioning and it wouldn't charge up my Android cellphone. Thanks to Reg in helping me getting all my transactions done. Since I have a jetpack (WiFi hotspot) through Verizon I can now have unlimited data access and internet service through them. 25/100 read more

There were 2 people ahead of me when I arrived. As soon as I got checked in I recieved a text message from Verizon saying I would be helped in 15 minutes. After 40 minutes of waiting, the store manager approached me and told me I was next in line. I work customer service and I hate dealing with complaining customers so I never complain --- until today on yelp. I waited another 20 minutes and finally a rep named Mike approached me telling me it was my turn. He asked how he could help and I wanted to know the difference between the $240 Samsung Galaxy J7 vs much pricer Samsung phones (S7, S8, etc.). I had just spent about an hour of reading reviews but I wanted to hear his "professional," opinion. He goes " yea that one is not as good as these one (points to pricer phones). That one would be like if you're gonna get it for mom and dad you know, they would not know the difference." No further elaboration or attempt to put more value to the sale was needed according to the confidence on his face after saying this. I gave up on him and told him I wanted to buy J7 at full retail. I based my decision on reviews I read and watched on youtube waiting on this guy. He asked me to put it on a payment plan so he could get paid. WHO DOES THAT? CUSTOMERS DON'T WALK IN THERE HOPING TO GIVE YOU A SALE. If you are in customer service you provide service to customers, not yourself. Be a hungry salesman but do you really have to drool and beg? Anyways, after I told him I did not want to use up any of my upgrades and I just wanted to buy the phone and leave, he goes " why don't you just do the payment plan so I can get credit for this sale." I died at this point. His manager jumped in to save the day and he was super cool. He had excellent customer service skills. He explained that they needed to activate the phone on a plan and they were not allowed to sell phones at full retail without a plan. I understood from that point and thanked the manager for his explaination. But the fact that Mike is allowed to be rude and obnoxious day in day out at this place is unacceptable. Whether or not you personally make your sales goals is not the customer's concern. I can understand if it's store policy not to sell phones without activating service, but to tell customers that they should buy because a salesman needs to get credit, that's just ridiculous. This is the second time I dealt with Mike at this store and amazingly enough, he never fails to epic fail. Cross me once, shame on you. Cross me twice, here's your bad review. I was really surprised to see the low average rating??? I've been a Verizon Wireless customer since 2000. I've always had a pleasant experience anytime I needed to deal with a phone issue or even reviewing my phone bill periodically to insure that I am getting the best plan for my needs and many times have had my monthly bill Lowered. Anyhow, I went to the Kapiolani store today and was warmly greeted by the store manager. I told him my issue with my new phone and he said that he'll make sure that I can switch out the iPhone 8 even though I passed the 14 day return period by a few days. Went to upgrade my phone (previous phone was already paid off and I was due for an upgrade anyway). I already knew what I wanted so the actual process was a breeze and the sales associate was cool enough. However, my issue was with the non-disclosure treatment I received. When I got the new phone, I was told that I had to pay for the tax on the phone, and that was it (and of course the actual price of the phone would be dispersed over the length of my contract, which is normal). But I was led to believe that the only thing I was paying for at that moment was sales tax on the new phone. Turns out, only half the price was sales tax and the other half was some sort of initial monthly fee, which could have been essentially waived if I was offered a phone trade in for my old phone, but which I wasn't. Mind you, I found all this out the next day after I was looking at my online statements, which tipped me off that I wasn't just paying sales tax. So I went back the next day and turned in my old phone, and they offered to essentially reimburse me, however the only way they could do it is in the form of a Verizon gift card. So I'm out cash money for not being told what I was actually paying for and any options I had, and then the best they could do is give me a gift card for the same store that just took my money. read more

WoW! This visit was much more appealing than my last bad experience around 10 months ago when I provided a detailed review. As I walked in, the greeter was attentive which caught me off guard, honestly! Just the acknowledgment upfront as he was trying to multitask with finishing up with his current customer was unexpected. The greeting was genuine and courteous. He quoted a short wait time given we were #1 in line. The rest of the staff was helping others customers since store appeared to be busy. Wait time was reasonable, and it didn't seem like a big deal walking around browsing the product options. Everything basically appeared overpriced... but that's typical so no BIG Surprise!!! When the guy approached us, he called out a name that didn't catch our attention right away lol! He called out the primary name on the account which did not allow us to make the vonnection right away! Anyway, guy was egfective and efficient .. quick fix, and he was done & how can we not be satisfied. I love that kind of service... makes sense that he's experienced at what he does because an ordinary customer views the issue to be big but like an instant snap of a finger, issue was resolved. So thankful... This place can increase on the stars rating another one or 2 once I have another positive experience! This by far was the best visit so still in a bit of shock. I'm thinking, maybe there has been a turn over of staff within the last year or maybe management changed??? I wonder what changed since my last visit because whatever it was, it worked as ideal and effective! Maybe re-training took place for current staff or a whole new approach to customer care was imposed. I will never know... Only downfall... I initiated a change in number and guy was processing the request. He tried multiple times but nothing he was taking into the system. He mentioned it could be the mainland system shuts down being on a separate time difference then us. This made sense, but still so unfair! I feel it would help if Hawaii could be on a separate 'system" to avoud limirations of transactions! I do understand the process of how everything is linked to "one" source, but still...??? It really poses an inconvenience.... this area could be an area they consider to tweak!!! I feel its a practical request... Please keep up the good work in this store location!!! read more

Plus the $7 fee for doing their ACTUAL job of assisting in CUSTOMER SERVICE - for the amount of money I pay in my bill every month to have a $7 charge on top of it is disgusting really. I chose Verizon years ago because of the ability to talk to and use the customer service agents ally any time. But now that I have to pay for them to do their job- I'm not sure I'll be a "loyal" Verizon customer for much longer. You outsource, charge more, and the customer service is getting worse. Verizon has brought in a new manager to manage this location. His name is Dan and he is training the staff on improving their sales performances by listen to the costumers and help them purchase the phone that will best fit their needs. People actually call and ask for appointments with Dan Barnet. The old way of doing things at this location are gone: The sales people treat the costumers with respect. They will not try and sell you a more expensive phone then you need. I was very happy with my purchase. It was just what I needed and not a penny more. I should say I was not told why Dan is at this location. But I noticed the difference in the way I was respected as a costumer. I see Yelp has already come up to 3 stars at this location so give it a try. read more

This review is solely based on the service at this particular location...I am satisfied with the service I get with Verizon in general. Went here on two occasions and both times I regretted coming here. Really only came here because we live in town. We were greeted when we came in the door but after that it was really like the person that assisted didn't care about anything. Super general answers to our questions, didn't really talk about any promotions going on or didn't even really ask us questions to help us make a decision on a phone or what data package. Then we go to the Moanalua location and it was soooooooo much better. The person that assisted us there was way more informative, went over different packages and pricing that would suit our needs and even told us about promos that could help bring our cost down and that would give us the most bang for our buck. What sealed the deal on us not coming back to this location is we needed to exchange my husband's phone and because we were in the area we decided to just suck it up and go to this location. The person who helped us was the same person that we spoke to last time and he just had no people skills and was unpleasant. He took the old phone back and just gave us the box for the new phone. Didn't even open the box to check if everything was okay or didn't help to set the phone up, none of that. Won't be back here. read more

I went to this location last week Tuesday. I was helped by BOBBY because I was thinking of getting an upgrade to an S5 but I had unlimited data. I was willing to lose my unlimited. He started to try and upsell me on everything!! DO NOT GO TO THIS GUY! He wanted to give me a free tablet that sucked. I told him that it wasn't good and didn' t want it. Then he showed me a better one supposedly that was frozen, he didn't offer that to me initally because he would have to order it!! He was checking every stupid thing he could qualify me for even when I didn't request it! In the end I decided to not go through with it and he had already changed my plan which took away my unlimited plan. Then as I was leaving he said ok, you can use the new plan and use your phone as a hotspot! I said wth would I change my plan and lose my unlimited? I didn't even get an upgrade!!! Shady effah!!! So he tried to change it back after back dating my change to last month!!! When we called customer service they said they can't give me back my unlimited because it was changed last month!!! WTF!!! They just did it 15 mins ago. I go home and call Verizon customer service to make sure he made the change. I speak to Valerina. She thanks me for calling on the same day. She sees a sales order for the change to the original plan. Everyday I look at my account to see if it is changed back. FYI I got nothing different from what I walked in with. My bill is now $152 instead of $85!!!! Still no change as of the following Tues so I call Customer Svc again and speak to another person who says that there is no pending order to change me back to unlimited data plan. He is going to fix my order and give me a courtesy call when he receives and e-mail to fix my account. It is Thursday and I am still waiting with my changed plan and my ridiculous bill!!!! I wish I could give them 0 stars!! Friggin irritated! Update: Please be careful because even if their employee fucks up your account they will not give you back your unlimited! I usually only come to this Verizon store to pay my bill. I've had too many occasions where they have provided incorrect information or just been plain jerks. Well, I did pay my bill today and inquired as to either suspending a line or canceling since the phone is inoperable and the cost of replacement can be ridiculous. Michael reassured me there were reasonably priced phone and I asked if he could show me some. I tried to ask a couple questions about the HTC they had in display because that is the one he took me to. I asked him how comparable it was to the one my daughter has and he said well hers is old so anything would be better. Wrong answer Michael!! I wanted to crack him one, but instead told him I am just asking questions in hopes of getting an answer. My daughter needs a phone and I just wanted to make sure I don't lose my plan for another junk plan. He was sarcastic when he said it wasn't the top of the line camera or 16gb and was just a genuine jerk. He then said "your the boss." I told him to never mind because I'll call and get some assistance because his remarks weren't necessary and I am not an idiot when I'd like to know about the amount of gb, photos pixels and stuff like that. OMG. WORST PLACE EVER. I wish I could give this place ZERO stars. I unfortunately got a rep who thought he knew everything. He not only came off as very arrogant, but he also was practically picking a fight with me about why I liked the iphone. (I have many phones, smartphones, non smartphones, android phones, and I like all types of phones, yet he was arguing with me about why I liked the iphone.) I came into the store THAT day because my aunt wanted to upgrade her phone THAT day. She knew exactly what she wanted. Don't go and argue with me about why I should wait a few weeks to upgrade. Also, he was being dumb about the printed out mail in rebate, and he filled it out, not even checking the spelling, and he spelled my aunt's name wrong and sealed the envelope. It was spelled REALLY wrong and he just sealed it up and moved on. The re was terrible. He's just this lanky, black haired, dorky, with glasses, "i-think-i'm-so-hot" type of guy. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS. He's arrogant, and cocky, and sarcastic, and a pain in the A to deal with. He made my experience here the worst and the very last I'll every have here. read more

Had to wait a little since I went during a busy time. But apart from that very nice staff!

I have never had a problem here. Actually, I've never had a problem with Verizon!! I have changed plans soooo many times like you would not believe! It gets confusing after a while when you have a family plan and live in diff. states and then one person (me) decides to leave the family plan, change plans in the middle of a billing cycle, add this and that, get back onto the family plan, etc., etc. You get the idea. Either over the phone or in person, Verizon customer service has always delivered. Since my dad doesn't speak English, he always has to wait for me to visit HI to make any changes to the plan or to upgrade his phone. Well, each time we've been to this location we are immediately greeted by a rep. and each experience has been smooth sailing. We just park at Walmart and walk on over. Sometimes, it does get very crowded so you just have to go on off days/hours, like weekdays. read more

This is my Nightmares! Why??? Signed up for service that costs 4x more than mobipcs because they have a call-blocking function, which I needed for protection reasons. Had to buy into a 2-year contract and pay $200 for a $450 phone. In the 6 months since I've had this phone, the G'zOne WATERPROOF, BREAKPROOF, HARDCORE phone, I've had to get the entire thing replaced THREE times because it keeps BREAKING, and go into the store to fix some kind of software malfunction 6 times. Awful. This latest time, I wanted to get a different phone because mine was broken for the FOURTH time in 6 months, so I walk into the Verizon store. The girl checked me into the "sales" waiting line. So I waited. When she called my name 30 min later, the salesrep thought I was a "fake," so he skipped me. I had words with him and the checkin girl. She put me back on the list to wait, for another 15 min. When I finally got to the front, the guy told me he couldn't help me, that I had to wait in line for tech support. WHAT? He could put me in line. Again. For the third time. I asked why the checkin girl had checked me into sales if I said my phone was broken? She said she didn't know. OMG!? Um, no. I left. My phone is still broken, I am still paying 4x more than I should, and verizon sucks. The end. read more

Been here for 2 hours and the new employee still can't figure out how to add my contract line. He has requested help from the manager twice but she keeps telling him that he needs to learn how to do it. In the meantime I'm stuck here for the past two hours! Came here with my mom who was due for an upgrade and the greeter at the front said there was one person ahead of us. Ok, not a big deal. We walked around the store, checking out the goodies for about 10 minutes and while we were walking around, I saw 4-5 employees cruising behind the counter. Ahhh, I get it now...making you wait is a marketing thing. If you're in a rush, don't bother coming in because I think they'll make you wait no matter how many people are there. Our sales rep was fine but I'm glad I came with my mom because I could tell they were trying to make a bigger sale with crap she didn't want or need, like internet service or a new (more expensive) mobile plan. This store draws in an interesting mix of people because of its location. What bothered me the most was a guy who was playing with a bunch of the phones and started blasting rap music with choke swearing. I was blown away that none of the employees asked him to turn it down or off! I use a colorful vocabulary on the daily so I'm not bothered by it but there were a lot of kids in the store and I'm sure their parents didn't appreciate that. I saw one employee start talking story with him over the music and then walking away, leaving him to tweak out on the loud F bombs by himself. Weird. The environment was definitely uncomfortable and because of that, I don't think I will return to this Verizon store. read more

Worst service ever!!!! ID GIVE ZERO stars if I could!!!! Went with my mother who is 81 years old, we been there for over 4 hours 1 time and still couldn't get the phone that I order. Went back the next day and was there for another 3 hours! I asked to talk to the manger after my ordeal was over and waited another 30+ minutes to talk to him but he never came over to talk to us. the Employee just stated " Sorry there is nothing we can do at this point". WHAT B.S.!!!! * Then there's all the countless hours talking to customer service about them sending me the wrong phone and more my headaches with VERIZON still continue to this day.
