Matan is the guy! I needed a new battery for my iPhone X and before I could ask him if he could do the replacement, it was done and less expensive than most others. I decided to bring him all my challenging electronics regardless of the "vintage" as Apple Ala Moana calls them, who then proceeds to break them (my iWatch). I took my watch there for a new battery, then after three days returned my watch without the battery and no longer paired to my phone. They said I signed their work order that supposedly relieves them of any responsibility for breaking my watch. Who does that? Soooooooooooooooooo I bought an iPhone 11, upgrading my 7, and dropped it literally within two weeks of taking it out of the box. It tumbled out of my backpack, facedown on asphalt. Holy crap, these things are made like sh*t! I expected scratches, but it was spider cracked, and pixelated screen. Thankfully, I purchased insurance and looked for the closest vendor with the most flexible hours and found Tech Armor. I was kind of surprised it was a little kiosk, but overall I am pleased with the work. They did my personal phone through my insurance (which was all completed online) after I showed my confirmation/claim number and then did my work phone for $100 plus dollars. Each phone took about 20-25 minutes, during which I did some work and also walked my dog. My only gripe is that my work phone screen is kind of glitchy - I have to text pretty slowly and touch the keys slightly above where I used to touch them. It's like it's super sensitive, but also not, so my texting comes out kind of weird. I basically just have to text two different speeds, depending on what phone I'm using. Staff was friendly and helpful. Fingers crossed I don't have to come back, but if these butter fingers do drop the phone again, I'll likely choose Tech Armor. read more

I went with my shorts and e-scooter. A big mistake: they tried to rip me off by saying a replaced battery in my tablet was somehow not their responsibility. The new battery was worse than my five-year-old battery. First, they said they would replace it. Then they said they wanted to only look at it. Then they say they will "order" a new battery but if I am not satisfied, they would only install a battery I buy on my own. Let's see, all they got to say is they change my battery, but it still does not work, wallah, I have to buy my own battery and pay more when I paid them for a new battery and labor so that my table would be decent. They said it was a new battery! Well, if you sell the battery and labor, you have a responsibility that the battery is not defective, especially if you can buy the battery online for $20, but charge $60! These guys are not honest. Beware, if things go good, okay, if things go bad, prepare for them not taking the full if any responsibility. Buyer beware! That is how they operate their business. Supplement. Your answer is your technician provided options, and I wrote what the options were. Thank you for confirming it! Your answer is a bit twisted. I went to a professional repair shop and paid $120 plus tax, including a "new" battery for $60, when I could buy one on Amazon for $20. I expect professionalism in your advertisement and the price charged. Your technician offered me a refund, and when I said okay, he said he would give me half a refund. He said he would install a "new battery," but if I am not satisfied, then I would have to buy a battery and bring it in. I used Tech Armor a few times over the years and they provided great services. Being that my smartphone is a BlackBerry, I was hoping that someone on the island was still able to help with it. Tech Armor was able to work with it. The first I used Tech Armor was back in 2020, when my battery was swollen. They said they'll help, but because they don't have BlackBerry parts, they suggested to order a BlackBerry battery on eBay, and then they can help with installing the new battery. I came back the following week with the new battery, and Tech Armor inserted my new battery. In 2022, the same situation. The battery was swollen, I got a replacement battery, and Tech Armor was able to insert the new battery. A few months later, I got a replacement back cover, and they were able to insert it. Not only do I like Tech Armor's tech expertise, I also loved their customer service. They were willing to listen to my situation, and they explained how they're to going to fix my situation. I'll definitely return to Tech Armor when my BlackBerry (or any mobile device) needs additional services again read more

I have to agree with the minor opinions here about this place. It was my second time breaking my galaxy screen. The place I got my screen fixed the first time was not in business anymore so I went to Tech Armor. The guy was nice and took my insurance so I only paid the deductable of $99. He did the job fast but then my camera was foggy after the fix. I went back immediately to get the camera fixed. It seemed fine for the second time, but only till I got home. So next morning I had to go back for the third time. A different guy was able to figure out and fixed it and told me it was not their fault but the manufacturer's fault. A few days later, my screen was cracked in my purse and I did not even drop my phone or purse. Then after a while, the screen got dull and it is not really reacting well with fingure touching. Sure, it is the manufacure who is making a really crappy Chinese quality stuff but it is this business that is buying these crappy stuff and charging customers for full price. I cannot even imagine how much they are charing for this without any insurance. It is so aweful they don't the right quality stuff, even if it is not the exact same as the original. Matan is a genius and a person that cares. We had a broken phone and got a replacement; went to Verizon and was shocked at the very rude service. They told us "open your phone" "go try enter your password". This after the person there could clearly see that the screen was cracked. We just needed to save the contact info, but was met with rude comments and left with the feeling they don't really care. Feeling hopeless, we went to visit Matan at Tech Armor. Even with the cracked screen he knew this was important to us and kept trying. The man is a genius, he connected a keyboard to enter the passcode to unlock the phone; even with a cracked screen. Then was able to figure out a way to transfer the info to a computer then transfer the info into the new phone. Thank you Matan and Tech Armor for caring about what is important to your customers! Came here for the first time to get a battery replacement for my iPhone 6....yes I still have a 6. I had it for about 5yrs now and now my battery can be at 100% charged until I use my phone for a few minutes and it zaps to 50%, 20%, and then 1%. These guys were able to help be out by replacing my battery completely while cleaning my speaker and the charging port or socket all for $73 (tax included). Now my battery is like new. I charged my battery to 100% and I was using it for a long time before it finally started draining. Now I get to keep my iPhone 6 for another 5 years while an iPhone 20 will be developed. Located in the Ala Moana Center right between McDonalds and Jeans Warehouse at a little kiosk. Parking lot is huge and the customer service is awesome. November 2018 ISSUE: Samsung S7 registers 100% charge, but the battery dies after 30 seconds of being unplugged. Sometimes it just restarts itself repeatedly. PAST ISSUES: Spring 2018 - my original battery dies after 2 years of service. It get replaced by a mall kiosk in Cerritos, CA ($60). Three months later it too is dead and phone overheats a lot. The company makes good on the battery and charges me for labor only. Two months later, while traveling, the same thing happens (see "ISSUE" above). DIAGNOSIS: After talking to an employee, named Justin for a few minutes, he asked for my phone. He quickly took apart the Otterbox case to find the back of my phone coming off. His first thought was the guy didnt glue it back on correctly. This thought completely changed when he looked at my battery. It was swollen... looking a bit like a ziplock back partially filled with air. The swollen battery was what pushed the back cover of my phone off. I was told that replacing the battery again may be a solution for a month or two, but he couldn't guarantee it as a permanent solution. He noted that part of the problem would more than likely be something dealing with the charging port connection, the circuit board and needing a part of it soldered, which they do not do. So, I left and went to my provider where I reviewed my plan and ended up purchasing a new Galaxy S9 for myself and a new iPhone 8S for my fiancee who was having unrelated issues with her 6S. Afterward, I returned and thanked Justin. I asked Justin what did he think their best form of advertisement was... internet, TV, radio, newspapers... He started to answer "internet". I cut him off and said, "... no... I am"... He immediate comprehended what I was saying. I told him that I would like to Yelp their business and to look for a review by John S. BOTTOM LINE: Justin could have bullshitted me and sold me a battery... hence making them some cash. I would have left (and left island) happy... for a while at least and then I would be standing in the same shoes 2 months down the line. Instead, Justin leveled with me and gave me the facts. Due to his honesty I would like to recommend this Ala Moana business, Tech Armor, to those looking to utilize their services. So, if you were debating... walking a fence... whatever. Let this Yelp Elite help you make the decision to turn to T.A. for help. Personally, I'd ask for Justin... He was awesome enough to 5 star the business on his own. I have twice needed gear repair, once each with an iPad and an iPhone. It's exactly the sort of stuff that you find you should not be trying to do solo, as an idiotic science project. On both occasions the rep was the same tall, good-humored, friendly, forgiving and wonderfully competent guy ("Matan?"). In one case the charge was nominal, given the immediacy of my employment needs and the price/time required by Apple. In the other case...well, it was zero. Probably an act of pity for my idiocy, but regardless an act of kindness. - As for many others, cellular communications have become a critical expectation of my employment. So an unintended consequence of both repairs was that I left the kiosk with a sense of confidence, confidence that I now have a reliable resource for dealing with an region of real vulnerability. My bf stopped by to repair his charging port for his iPhone XS Max. We went to numerous places that repair phones and they looked at the charging port, but immediately assumed that they need to order the part to repair it. Went to Tech Armor and the guy running the stand carefully took a look at his phone and pulled out a lint from the charging port. He didn't charge anything and saved my bf a lot of money for fixing something that could've easily been resolved with a pair of tweezers. Great and professional service! My 82-year-old father went to Tech Amor Ala Moana mall of honolulu Hawaii location to try his phone charging problem fix. The young staff there suggested buying a new charger for $40. He went home and tried to charged it, but it didn't work. He went back to Ala Moana to return the charger. The staff didn't refund the $40 and asked again to pay another $20. My father paid total $60 in cash. Because staff said he would refresh the charging port repair for part order. A few days later father went to get his phone. But the phone is completely broken and the call is impossible. Rather, a samsung new version phone has become broken device. My father asked for money back. But Owner refused to refund money, Owner said that $60 was there labor charge. My father is so unfair feeling that he will be visit the police station. For a senior with no income, $60 in cash is a valuable money and he needs to buy a new phone. My father couldn't drive, so he changed buses several times and visited the Tech Amor place three times. For the father who visits my mother every day who has been hospitalized in a nursing home for two years, Tech Amor owner's attitude is a big stress. I hope you don't experience something unfair like my father did. The owner broke my father's phone and instead of apologizing, he screamed. My father was traumatized by the current owner's blackmail threats.
