Had a really bad FPS DROPS LOW FPS (60-10) and gpu was hardly being utilized after months of trying to mess with it myself, help from friends and going back and forth with AMD customer service over email. I could not figure out how to fix it. Brought it in to PC Plug hawai'i and on the next day was back home playing with over 500FPS! And no drops. It's hot, yes. And you know what else heat does aside of make us as humans absolutely miserable? It kills electronics. My son's PS5 begun to overheat and give him messages that the system was getting too hot which would disrupt his precious gaming time and I knew we had to get this looked at by professionals. My son and I cleaned it to the best of our ability but sometimes there's jobs that you can't do and you need to seek the good guys.. which led me to PC Plug Hawaii. I called several shops/technicians but the turnaround time pretty wicked and just when we was about to give up I realized I missed one shop in town and figured.. what the heck, let me give it a try! I called on Saturday August 23rd, 2025 at about 11:50AM and spoke with Lip. I explained the issues my son was facing with his console and then I dropped the $64,000 question - "do you look at and/or fix gaming consoles" and without hesitation Lip told me they do, and that the problem sounds common for probably dust build up and liquid metal replacement which my son and I had deduced after doing research. We headed down to their shop which is close to United Laundry and walked into the door, Lip was waiting for us and he's awesome. Another reviewer had mentioned good vibes and they weren't wrong - Lip was great from the phone call to the actual dropping off the PS5. He asked my son some questions and he narrowed down the issue pretty quick, he told me they'd have it ready.. wait for this.. BY THE END OF THE FREAKIN' DAY! You want to talk about a SOLID turnaround time?! All the other quotes was one to two weeks and even that wasn't guaranteed! So we dropped the system off and mellowed out for the day and got the call at about 4:45 the PS5 was done to come by. We went to get it and that's where I got to meet Lip's partner in crime, Eric, who was equally as awesome as Lip! Eric showed me some pics of the massive dust build up within the PS5 that was a factor into the system being dumb and also replaced the liquid metal that had become an issue due to the system standing (big no-no for PS5, especially 1st gen). The PS5 is running flawlessly, it's quiet and there's no error messages like before PC Plug Hawaii got it back on track. The price was amazing, the customer service was awesome.. the whole process was just great. I dropped my PS5 off today (8/25/25) to have it deep cleaned as I figured it wouldn't hurt as I didn't want to run into problems - I met I believe was Sam, another tech who was another great person with amazing customer service skill. They had my PS5 done before they closed.. fortunately, mine was nothing like my son's. If you have gaming console issues or PC and mobile device problems GIVE THEM A CALL! It's hard to win me over, but PC Plug Hawaii has done so. I'm not taking my electronics anywhere besides to Lip and Eric and if they tell me they can't fix it, I'll just have to bribe them with plate lunches next time! But seriously, they're worth the money and time. They're a locally owned business and they're fellow Kalihi Boys, we gotta support each other in this economy. I cracked my iPhone screen yesterday with the worst of it right over the front camera so my facial recognition was shot. I did a search on Yelp for repair services as well as on YouTube to see what might be involved. Yeah, I could do that but I'm sure it would take me longer than it's worth though. Two places responded to my inquiry and PC Plug Hawaii not only had a better quote but it was on my way home just off of Sand Island Access Road. With a few quick text messages, I made arrangements to stop by after work. Lip Tran was super friendly the minute I walked in the door and confirmed my model of phone and got to work. He didn't mind me sitting and watching him as he deftly took my phone apart and replaced the cracked screen with a new one. He was done in maybe 15 minutes even with me interrupting him talking story. But seriously, I could have done it but it would probably have taken me at least an hour and buying the kit online, waiting for it and all the extra effort, his services were well worth the price. My computer had been randomly crashing for months. I had tried to fix it myself to no avail, and after an extremely bad interaction at another computer repair shop I was apprehensive about taking it in. The staff was super helpful, they charged a reasonable fee (~$70) for running diagnostics and they were able to identify the most likely cause of the bluescreens. They completed everything within about 24 hours, and stayed after hours with me to make sure I understood the issues and the options to repair it (both by them or if I wanted to do it myself). They did not pressure me into buying anything, but I elected to get the parts there since they offered a 2 year warranty on parts. They also said that if the problem persists then I don't have to pay another diagnostic fee, just bring it in and they will take another look. I would go again in a heartbeat, and I am glad to know there are ardent, hardworking people who truly want to help you and won't try and swindle or overcharge unsuspecting customers. read more

I asked them to fix my Gaming Desktop PC, and they pretty much went above and beyond in fixing it. For the labor and parts it took to get it fixed, I would say it wasn't too expensive. This shop is also cheap when it comes to initial check up of your hardware compared to others. Their service was courteous and they really know their stuff. As longest you are honest and get your story straight on your issue they are able to see and analyze what is going on with your system at a quick pace. I do recommend them for their services. Edit: Now that I have a clear mind, I can write an honest review. I slept on it and I got screwed. Sorry, I'm sure they deserve more stars than one, but in my situation, that's what they deserve. When I went back to their business... all of a sudden there are all these things wrong with my computer that weren't wrong when I originally took it in? Saying the pins on my motherboard were bent now when there was no mention of that before? And my CPU was bent when the ONLY hands to touch it were them?And when the first person to touch it when I bring it back is so shook that his hands are shaking like someone had a theragun against his wrist. Don't trust a surgeon with shaky hands. Don't trust this business. Original: I'm not in the business of tainting a businesses name, but I am also not going to NOT give feedback when it is deserved. They absolutely provide quality service and I believe that they are some of the best hands on the island when it comes to building and supporting PCs. I have heard nothing but amazing things from my friends, coworkers, and from reviews everywhere. I took my computer in for diagnostics. They quickly uncovered that my motherboard was not operating properly. They told me all my other parts checked out and they tested everything out on a different motherboard and it worked just fine. I wasn't able to replace that part right away, so I set my PC aside a few months until I could figure out a solution that fit my budget. When the time came for me to try to replace my motherboard, I started to try to take apart my computer to prep the new part. I uncovered that a pretty important component was damaged (my CPU). A component that you don't typically take out unless you know what you're doing. I reached out to them when I found this and they quickly asked me to come back so they could take a look at everything. I really appreciated this. They took a few days to investigate the situation. In the end, they said it could not have been them. I wasn't there when my computer was being worked on. They reviewed the tapes and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. For all I know, this could have been a freak accident. I understand that there are people out there that look to take advantage of small businesses, and I understand there are risks involved with getting your computer checked out. I trusted this business with my computer and I guess that was my bad? Most of the guys here absolutely know what they're doing. They are super helpful. Had I not discovered my CPU was bent by some mystical power that wasn't my own or the guys at PC Plug Hawai'i? I would have given them five stars for the experiences I've had with them. Just because I don't like what happened, doesn't mean they were in the wrong. I just would have appreciated being given alternate solutions like "let us help you source parts to make this right," or "give us another opportunity to trust us with your stuff." I got a "we can't prove that we did or didn't do this. You're shit out of luck." My gut really makes me think they really had something to do with it. But I guess we'll never know. read more

I used Yelp to try to find a place to replace my Nintendo Switch screen. PC responded within a day with a few questions so they could make sure they could help me out. I was happy they could! You can make appointments to see them but they were open so we went in. Its just off Sand Island access road by United Laundry, on the second floor of the building. Lots of parking and easy to get to. The guys were very friendly and helpful. I felt nervous about leaving my Switch because its my stress reliever and they were very understanding so put my mind at ease when I left it behind for repairs. They got it done in two days ( wouldve been shorter if the new screen had been delivered to them earlier) but were quick to let me know that it was ready. Fast, friendly and a whole lot cheaper than buying a new Switch. I was back playing Stardew Valley within minutes. I recently had my VW infotainment touchscreen go bad, and had the screen repaired elsewhere. But when I got the new touchscreen back, I was left with a bunch of parts and I didn't want to risk reassembling the infotainment incorrectly so I reached out to PC Plug. Was doing some research before making my choice. I wanted somewhere that was a small local business over a corporate etc. Threw out my issue with my Phone (Yes they do Cell repairs as well) and requested quotes from several other places as well. These guys already knew what the issue was as well as another shop on the quote i requested. Few other shops wanted diag fees before doing anything else. So I made my choice and came here. Shop is located on the second floor all the way in the back of Alahao Pl which is the very 1st street when entering Sand Island off of Nimitz. Make sure you come in from Nimitz side since its the 1st right and can't make a left turn onto Alahao from makai side of sand island rd. Came in to check and confirm my issue paid for my parts to be ordered and waited for part to come in. When it came in dropped off phone and got the call a few hrs later it was done. Came in checked Got my phone and was very happy. Next day did have a small issue with the speaker but brought it back and everything was taken care of. They do quality work and stand by their work. Won't hesitate coming back here for computer repairs and will also recommend them to others as well. Great customer service here, never had any issue or felt pressured in any way. This is a 5 star business no doubt. They answer the phone promptly, they keep their promises, they are professional, thorough, patient , accommodating and they do a great job. I went there because they were $50 cheaper than the other places I called for cell phone screen repair of my android. The screen came within a few days and as soon as it arrived Lip called to let me know it was available. I told him I wouldn't be in town for a while but that I would swing by once I was there. They took just one hour to repair my phone screen. Thank God! Can you imagine being without your cell phone for more than an hour? So I ran some errands and came back and it was in perfect condition.
