Brought PC in for repair and was helped right away. They did some preliminary testing and ultimately since the problem was intermittent they advised that advanced diagnostics may be needed. Additionally, the graphics driver was very outdated and while it was hooked up they took care of that and we decided to take PC home to test. For now, after the graphics driver was updated that seems to have helped solve our problem. They spent 40 minutes with us and did not charge us for the consultation. Recently my older twin wanted to get a gaming computer. Knowing NOTHING about this, I had to put my trust in experts to get them what they needed. I don't recommend them. Spent over $1100 on upgrades to a store bought gaming desktop PC and it has been nothing but problems since then. I brought my store bought gaming desktop PC to them to see if anything could be done for the excessive fan noise. To solve this they recommended replacing the case and installing a water cooler. Additionally, they recommended replacing the RAM to ensure it was running efficiently. Essentially, the only items that weren't replaced were the motherboard and video card. Over $1100 and about a month later, my fan noise was back with all the new parts and them "optimizing" the system. Ended up having to bring it back to them to look at it just to have the owner say I might have to pay for another diagnosis fee depending on what they find. At this time, he mentioned noticing the PC had been updated to Windows 11 where he then stated that their systems are meant to run on Windows 10. This was the first time hearing about this and if I had known I likely wouldn't have opted to having the initial work done as I eventually intended to convert this PC into a work PC. After a LONG unhappy conversation, he took my PC in and about a week later said the issue had been resolved as the fan configs had to be redone. Now about 2-3 months later, my fans started acting up again but after doing the steps he recommended if the problem ever resurfaced, I started getting a CPU Fan error at startup and it wouldn't move pass that screen. To get around that I had to disable the CPU fan monitoring and am now waiting for them to call me so I can bring in my PC to get checked out again. read more

I bought my first PC from PC gamers when they first opened. They did a great job at working with me to find what sort of computer would fit my needs the most, since I didn't have a set budget. I wanted something that would be upgradeable over the years while still providing solid performance right now. They were great at being transparency about which pieces were driving costs up, which were worth the investment, and which could be skipped if a newer and better model was on the way to being released. They really helped me to create a computer for me, from choosing which parts I wanted to invest more into, to the super cute mini case that was chosen the transportation needs in mind, as it needed to travel from Hawaii to California as a carry on, its my "Little Traveler" and I adore her. A couple of years later, I ordered another PC for my partner. In the time between the first and second PC, I could see how much the company had grown in experience and skills. For this build, we were more focused on costs and less about graphics/other custom needs, so basically set that president, stating which games we wanted to play, and requested a sturdy foundation to last us through the years with some upgradeable options down the line. 10/10 ease of experience again. Since I live in California and needed my first PC brought over as a carry on, I was not in Hawaii when I ordered this second PC and needed it shipped. I rarely comment on things even when they are great but PCG earned this one. I built a rig and it was a monster that needed a lot of cooling. Threadripper 3970X with TWO RTX 3090 FE. I contacted PCG when their custom liquid cooling became available and they told me to bring my rig down. I told them, they need to come to my house and check my rig. PCG sent Landon and next thing you know, PCG has my rig in June 2021. Little did we know that supply chain and shipping would suck but fast forward to Feb 2022 and boom, I got my rig back. The wait was worth it and now my 3090s sits at 48-50C (before it throttles when it hits 60C) with everything I throw at it overclocked, even ETH mining lol. My TR3970X normally goes hot at 75 - 80C with my old 360 AIO and now it is at low 60s on 64 threads at 100%!!!! It's a Threadripper, never expect it to be below 60C lol. Communication with PCG was great. Updates, recommendations, shipping delays, or just entertaining my questions, PCG never hesitated to reply. Price was fair. We live on an island (shipping cost), tariffs, and sales tax creates the price tag but the quality of work and their guarantee of great service gives you that peace of mind. PC Gamerz Hawaii saved me $449 on an item I didn't purchase from them. I managed to buy an AMD Ryzen 7 5800 from the AMD website with free 2 day shipping, which turned into almost a week due to the weather on the mainland. When it finally arrived I felt stoked. I started to work on the upgrade for my gaming rig with this new AMD chip and an Asus motherboard. But I ran into a problem, the CPU wouldn't sit right because of a bent pin. "HA!" I thought, it looked easy enough to unbend. I never straightened CPU pins before but I wanted to give it try. Guess what happened? I ended up bending another another one! I honestly thought I trashed a $449 computer part and stuck buying a new CPU which would be shipped a week later. Then I decided to message PC Gamerz Hawaii for assistance. Originally I wanted to buy another CPU if they had one available and mentioned that I bent the pins on my current one. I got a message back "Want us to try and straighten them for you?" I dropped by PC Gamerz Hawaii and Devin assisted me with the repair. He looked over the CPU and immediately started to go to work on it. I am still amazed at how diligent and meticulous he worked unbending these tiny pins. Once he completed the straightening, he did not stop there. He went through the trouble of assembling a test rig from various parts scattered across the various build stations at the store. Devin hooked everything up to the test rig and fired it up. The monitor sparked to life showing the CPU being read correctly and ready for use. During all this time Devin never mentioned about buying another CPU or any fees related to this repair. I purchased my current PC from Devin last year (August 2020), as a recommendation from a friend. I knew nothing about PCs since I was only an Apple user, and going through PCGz made me feel a lot more comfortable since they're very knowledgeable and I could get support if I had any questions. Throughout the past year, I haven't had to message them much but when I do, I always get a response in a timely manner. And one time I messaged them outside of their business hours, but I still got a response. From the initial request, it took 20 days total to pick up my PC! (that's including waiting for parts to arrive) When I came in to pick it up, Devin explained the basics and made sure I understood how to care for it. He even offered to do the cleanings for me (I would just have to take it into the shop every so often). The price is definitely worth it for the value and I would come back if I'm looking to upgrade, but if you're on a low budget and don't want the assistance/assurance, then consider building it yourself. Another way you could save a little bit is by purchasing your computer parts yourself and then coming here to pay a "build fee," but keep in mind that you won't get the same warranty for your parts. These guys built my awesome PC, and although there are some issues (not caused by them), they take the time to really dive in and diagnose to fix and solve the problem. Devin and Landon are both great, this most recent visit Devin went into great detail on different tests and procedures they use to get to the root of the problem. It wasn't just a "ohhh sorry you gotta buy a new part or new ______", he took the time to explain possible issues and even talked about some possible solutions and fixes. 11/10 recommend going through them, and buying your PC through them, the build can't be beat, quality and service. You don't have to deal with someone in another country on the phone that doesn't even speak English. Some things might run a little higher in price, but we live in Hawaii all, support local, buy local and keep that money circulating in the local economy. Because of Covid, and more people working from home/staying home, getting ahold of decent computer parts is like winning the lottery. Even when you do find parts online, their prices are marked up 100% by shady third parties. I was in need of a new power supply because my 5 year old PSU can't handle my new graphics card. I wanted a 1000w Seasonic that is sold out everywhere online, luckily PC Gamerz had it in stock. I emailed Devin for availability, he confirmed they had it, I called, and they put it on hold for me. They do, do a small price markup compared to MSRP, but when you factor in the shipping cost to Hawaii and tax you'd have to pay from a site like Newegg, it's not that bad. I am noob at building a PC, I'm a little intimidated by things with so many specs to sort through when I enter a store like this. It's sometimes hard to understand how all these tech things add up. It's so weird because on the outside parts look the same and It's hard to grasp how one part can be so much better when they physically look identical. So please do your research on computers regardless of what store you go to. With that being said, I entered the newegg shuffle for months to get a GPU and came up with nothing! Dam Covid for halting production lines and reddit for enticing me with so many cool battle stations. So how do I get a dam GPU. I found PC gamerz through their instagram. They have some cool pre builds! I thought well, I'm sure storefronts have a better upper hand with distributors. So I guess I should see whats going on here. I saw their waiting list and decided to pre pay $100 and reserve my chance for an RTX 3080 or 3090... I only had to wait a month! I paid $2100 plus tax for an RTX3090 but I'm not complaining considering people online have been scalping these GPU's for about $3000 everywhere! This whole process made me feel like a kid again trying to get power rangers or waiting for the newest and hottest games from Toys and Joys. I am now tinkering with xgen hair in maya and am blown away at how fast this GPU is. I always told myself I wouldn't get into 3D until the technology was fast enough where I wouldn't be rendering and waiting for hours. I guess that time is now. I would recommend dropping by PC Gamerz for sure. Even if you don't get what you want, don't cry. You can wash away your tears with Boba and / or Youngs Kal Bee next door. That's what i do. Full disclosure: I am a former employee of PC Gamerz nearly 10 years removed. This fact will have no bearing on this review. Since leaving PCGz employment I got into IT professionally full time. This is relevant because: I am fully capable of building, troubleshooting & repairing my own PC. In the current climate, given the global hardware shortages at the time of this review - I'm unable to just go out and do that, so given the time for an upgrade this summer I did a full cost analysis of every major System Integrator & PC Builder & retailer online and included PCGz as an option. PCGz was not just competitive with every big box retailer & system integrator, they were entirely more cost effective than most options in the market. Being familiar with the quality of work (and wanting to support a small business during these times) I chose PCGz as my builder. Devin worked with me to come up with a quote and parts list that checked every box I asked for and included a ton of custom stuff - including being the test dummy some of their brand new equipment. and with a quote for shipping the PC overseas. Yep, that's right! I'm no longer a Hawaii resident and PCGz was fully willing to ship me a PC at a fair price. Initially I thought the upcharge for the warranty was a write-off since I can't exactly make use of their facilities to bring in the computer any time if it acts up. But, with a huge amount of bad luck - 5 days after receiving my shiny new rig, it suddenly shut down. After a few days of troubleshooting & leaning on the PCGz crew for insights, I determined that the motherboard was the issue. They sent me out a replacement board to install myself, and it arrived without issue. I installed the new board AND - no dice, still dead. At this point I had replaced and tested every part on my own except the CPU, and again, given the hardware shortages even Best Buy's geek-squad didn't have stock to help me confirm the issue was the CPU. But again PCGz sent me out a replacement part within a few days and 2 weeks after the first failure I was back up and running. They even were able to get me a new Windows 10 License since my original was no longer valid with new hardware. Note; this likely would've been solved in as little as a day had I been on island since they could've tested every part at once (with relevant parts available), but Devin & PCGz were fully willing to work with me and ship me out new parts as needed. Excellent service, going above & beyond to help me out and get me up and running. read more

For a long time I was a pretty avid Apple/Mac user due to me using Apple software such as Final Cut Pro pretty heavily back in high school and just the fact that the Mac OS and interface is really user friendly/easy to use. Now that my current Apple laptop was nearing the end of its life I figured I'd make the switch to PC due to the brilliant minds at Apple deciding to constantly remove commonly used ports (USB, headphone jacks etc.) from their new devices. I've been following PC Gamerz on social media for a bit and was really impressed with their work that they post so I figured I'd reach out to Devin about buying a custom built PC. I think Devin provides really good customer service. He sat down and worked with me to come up with the best build to meet my needs and budget. I wanted something that allowed me to use my engineering programs (Revit, AutoCad, etc.) but would also be good for gaming and look good as well. He was very patient with me as I don't really know much about building computers or computer components (you'd think an electrical engineer would be good with computers but I specialize in building design and Power/Telecom systems). Devin took the time to give me a proposed build with an itemized list with prices and explained why he thought each piece would be best for me. I was able to review and give input on anything I felt I didn't like or need. I felt like Devin was honest and at no time did I feel pressured into buying a certain thing or spending more. I didn't get the feeling that he was trying to upsell me on anything either. There is an upcharge on computer parts/components of roughly 10% which Devin was upfront with. I know some people don't really like that but 10% upcharge for parts is actually standard across other industries like if you hire an Electrician, Plumber or get your car serviced at the Auto Shop. They have an upcharge on the parts they have to use for you. If you buy a bottle of alcohol at the club or restaurant you're paying way more than 10%. I believe there also is the option for you to purchase and bring in the parts yourself. (I could be wrong about this.) It took a while for me to get my computer due to certain parts not being released yet and also scalpers. I didn't mind the wait and Devin kept me updated on the status of parts etc. I have most of my computer, the only thing missing is the CPU which of course is being scalped for ridiculous prices at the moment but Devin was nice enough to give me a loaner CPU until he is able to get a CPU at a more reasonable price, which I thought was super cool. All that being said I think the computer turned out to be really nice. It runs smooth (for gaming, I didn't install the engineering software yet) and surprisingly it is really quiet even though it is sitting right next to me. So far I am very happy with the quality of product and service that I received from Devin and his staff at PC Gamerz. I'll provide another update when I get the CPU installed but for future computer needs I will be more than happy to recommend and return to Devin and his team at PC Gamerz. read more

I brought in my pc (from CyberPower) for new fan, strimmer and new PSU instalation, and much needed cable management. I paid CyberPower for a custom build but the cable management and fan orientation was atrocious. I even had to add intake fans because CyberPower didn't even think of putting one. PC Gamerz did a great job with cable management and finally fixing my fan orientation which made my PC a lot cooler than it was before. They also did a great job with the strimmer layout. I really regret not doing research and should've had PC Gamerz build my PC in the first place. If I ever decide to upgrade or make a new build, PC Gamerz will be my first choice. I knew this was always here. But never willingly chose to come in bc I could always play at home. But ever since I recently attended a VGH DB Super competition and supporting the VGH community, I went to a free game play at a recently opened esports arena and it was straight gamer heaven. PC Gamers is more of a haven for humans seeking safety from what may be a toxic environment. Basically that esports arena showed me the good life and the amazing community that comes with it that I definitely wanted to be around it more. So the next best thing for the west side was PC Gamers. IT'S VAPE-FRIENDLY. So if you're under the age of 18, make sure you get your parents permission. They check IDs. If the staff is high on nicotine from vaping, don't be weirded out if they ask for your ID twice. When clearly they had just gave it back to you. If it's your first time you sign up via google form at the computer nearest the door. Then the staff does something that takes 5 minutes to process. Then you purchase your passes for time. Not all the computers are on and there are definitely regulars who kind of set camp at their desired computers. So you may want to ask the staff where best to sit if it's your first spot. I basically went with the flow and sat wherever. EVERYTHING TAKES TIME: Like all things tech, everything needs to update. So if the computer hasn't played the game you want to play you may want to consider the time it takes for it to update and load - for me it took 15 minutes to update and load thought it was ridiculous so they gave me an extra hour. In addition, to the laggy AF game play. If I wanted laggy game play - I'd play on my neighbors unsecured network. IS THERE AN AIR PURIFIER? I don't think so. Since it's vape-friendly people WILL be vaping. I began to get light headed from the smells. That's pretty unsanitary.. I could smell EVERYTHING peoples food, their drinks, *gag* help me. After an hour and a half I needed out. ITS YOUR BROTHERS ROOM. An organized chaos. You're welcome to snack and drink at the computers. There's about 5/6 rows of tables that have monitors on both sides, the towers are held up by metal shelves above. The table aren't that wide so I was playing up against my face... I felt claustrophobic especially when the ambiance is just a dark cave. You truly get what you pay for. It's definitely very laid back here. Maybe too laid back. read more

My husband loves his PC and when it started having problems he was (not to be too dramatic, but) devastated lol. We didn't know what to do and the warranty on it sucks so a friend recommended we take it to PC Gamerz Hawaii. My husband called in the afternoon and they said we could bring it in that day and it would take a few days to run diagnostics to know for sure what they issue was and then fix it, so we took it in. A few days later and they were able to diagnose and fix it (apparently it was running low on space and when windows did an update it messed up a few things and got stuck in an endless loop of restarting). After reading some positive reviews I decided to take my PC down to Devin, he gave me a free diagnostic for my computer and told me what parts I could buy for my tower. My PCU and mother board was fried due to a power surge even though I had a surge protector (bummer) anyways this guy is great he re-wired everything for me and installed everything at a really affordable price I'd say (most places) will charge you more for labor. Devin offers affordable prices, and responded to my messages pretty quick. He finished my tower overnight which was really great.
