SuperGeeks asked me to buy a new DDR5 RAM stick to test whether the RAM was the issue before moving on to the motherboard, claiming they didn't have any in stock. One employee's brother then corrected him, stating that they actually did have DDR5 RAM available. Regardless, they could have tested my existing RAM on another computer or removed my motherboard and tested it on a different system--but they did neither. After charging me a $200 diagnostic fee, no meaningful troubleshooting was performed over a seven-day period. A good friend who knows Don set up an appointment for us to go in and have him look at some issues I'd been having with my MacBook Air. Once I showed him what was going on and the fact that I wasn't able to backup my data on my external hard drive he figured out what the problem was. In addition, he asked if I had been drawing folders to the external drive, which I wasn't, so it helped determine that I needed a new external drive as the one I had been using ws too old and not allowing all my data to transfer over. He gave me recommendations of what hair drive to order and offered to order it for me. He checked the price and determined i would be faster and cheaper to get it locally or from Amazon. While I was there, I had a chat with Dane from "We Fix Phones, Oahu" who shares the space with Don. I showed him my old iPhone 12 and the fact that I was unable to update it because there wasn't enough memory. I had been dumping photos and apps but nothing freed up enough space. One of the downsides of the iPhone 12 is that it accommodates only so much memory and I've reached my limit. Time for a new phone! Both Don and Dane were great and so easy to talk to and I didn't feel like an idiot for not knowing how to describe my tech issues. That makes a big difference in my books. read more

My son's laptop had the "A" key fall off the keyboard. Brought it in to Super Geeks on King St. Adam assisted me. It could not be fixed but he graciously disabled the laptop keyboard so an external keyboard could be used. There was no charge for this service. He was super helpful. After inspection, Don said motherboard needed to be fixed. Coolios. I was out of town on a business trip anyway. So, I let him work his magic. When I picked up, Don said that the LCD needed to be fixed to so he replaced it for free out of courtesy (because I've been waiting for a bit (in a good way!)). You gotta love Don. My HP computer that I bought in 2015 kept freezing earlier this month. I contacted Super Geeks, explained my situation and they were willing to work on my computer. Let's face it, repairs for computers isn't fun. Whether or not you'd want to admit it, having someone with your personal device isn't ideal but sometimes it's necessary. That's how I felt about having my laptop fixed. I tried my hardest to do everything BUT have it looked at professionally but a la, it came down to fixing or dumping and I wasn't going to throw away a perfectly good 17.3" touchscreen Envy. I called around and heard a lot of good about SuperGeeks so I took the plunge and requested a quote from Don, within minutes he had shot back to me and let me know pricing details and it was actually really good! So I went down and dropped it off-- all the meanwhile Don was super awesome. He and I shared quick stories of where we was from and family, he really does make you feel like you're more than just a customer. .. and this was even before he had seen the hardware that needed to be fixed! The fact that he was talking to me as of we've known each other for years was great -- really made me trust his ability to college the job. Nonetheless; I showed Don my laptop and he told me it'd definitely be a job they could get done and that was that. I told him that I was in no rush. About a week and a half later I got a update from Don letting me know the job was a little more sophisticated than previously thought and that it'd need a little more time which was fine. Don told me he tries to fix what he has always before getting parts and having to pass that on to the consumer. A few days later I got another update letting me know the laptop was fixed! I went down and picked it up, Don again was awesome, but what was really great was he showed me pics of the work and broke it down to me what was wrong and what needed to be fixed. There was no super advanced terms used -- no fancy lingo, just pics and clear explanation of what was done. So I accidentally cut a usb based cable while setting up my gaming system and lacked the tools to fix it my self. I reached out to a couple other computer repair stores who were charging me 100s to repair something I could've done myself with a $10 soldering iron and some electrical tape. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I love supporting well run, locally owned businesses and Super Geeks has my loyalty for the rest of time. The person who answered the phone (Don) was so helpful and knowledgeable I almost couldn't believe it! I was flabbergasted and so thankful for his patience, wisdom, and calm. I'd accidentally deleted many important files and was in a panic! I had called File Savers Data Recovery and they gave me almost no information besides that I would have to give up my computer for 2 weeks, for a price more than twice as much as Super Geeks, and I would have to pay whether or not they recovered any files. On top of that, they would not tell me how likely it was they would restore my data. Super Geeks was like entering heaven. Don told me about turning off bitlock and some other useful information about OneDrive. When I got to the store, he sat down with me with so much patience and kindness, and somehow my problem got fixed within 5 minutes of visiting the store. I went to them to fix a noise issue with my fan on my laptop. After spending over $450 dollars, they inspected, cleaned, ordered new parts, and installed the parts. With new parts, the fix only lasted six months; they only have a one month service warranty. SuperGeeks refuses to negotiate prices for a return customer on the same service/problem and instead I was spoken to in a condescending manner. When stating respectfully that I would go seek other services instead, they stated that no matter where I go, who is to say they will fix it better than SuperGeeks. I do not appreciate their end-all be-all attitude, therefore, I will never do business with them again. Bottom line: If you want dependable and respectful service, I recommend finding a service elsewhere and not spending your hard earned money here! read more

This is the local place to go to for all computer-related repairs and data back-up issues! It's in a smaller office complex right next to Ross Dress For Less in Moiliili. I came here recently because one of my older external hard drives finally died (or something along these lines) and the computers I use at home would no longer read them. And there are a lot (and I mean a lot!) of photo and video memories that I really value. So thank goodness the folks at SuperGeeks came to the rescue and were able to salvage and transfer my data onto one of the spare external hard drives that I had. I do not even know where to start but Don and Adam provide fast turnaround and CUSTOMER SERVICE beyond expected standards. I am quite ignorant when it comes to technology and went in shop to upgrade the software on my Mac and I mentioned my interest in having Google chrome application. They were patient, informative and presented a can do attitude. The main reason I was hyper concerned about upgrading my MacBook was due to a big boxing match that would take place two days later and I was concerned whether or not the upgrade would work with my tv. My 5 year old Dell laptop was not loading. I ran the diagnostics that said my power cord and battery were failing. After attempting to try again, the computer made loud beeps then crashed. I took it in to Super Geeks and Don diagnosed that it needed a new battery and power cord. I agreed to have them replaced as well as have the system upgraded to have it process faster. I was told it would take at least a week to get a new battery shipped. To my surprise, the laptop was fixed and upgraded in five days. I am very pleased with the customer service and quality of work. I was also told about their on-site service where they will go to your home for diagnostics and provide pick-up and drop-off if your device needs hardware repair.
