Wednesday March 25, 2026 I used the Spectrum chat to describe the problem that we were having with the 2 cable boxes of always having to reboot or restart the cable boxes in order to watch tv every time. It was frustrating and a headache! It was highly recommended to make a reservation with the location that you plan to visit. The earliest appointment was for the next day Thursday March 26, 2026 at 5:45pm. I took the 7:00pm appointment and they close at 8:00pm. We walked in and the place was full of people. On the screen showed 32 people on the walk in wait list!! I checked in at 6:45pm for the 7:00pm which is the 15 minutes recommended on the iPad? 6:50pm, we were helped by SAGE a very friendly sales associate? He asked for an I.D and started the process of getting what we needed the replacements of the 2 cable boxes. SAGE talked and worked fast at the same time which made it go by so fast. It was a very nice and comfortable first experience. By 7:10pm and only in 20 minutes we were walking out the door with what we came for. We went home and set it up and it's all good again. Would not recommend. Service was constantly interrupted and when the bill jumped up this year we had to switch. It's not good value for money. You can tell a lot by a company's practices and spectrum will intentionally keep you on the phone to cancel for at least 10 minutes telling you that it's still processing. That just cant be true for any technological reason. If you can live stream from your phone, the ISP can't need that much time to process a simple disconnect function. Where before I thought I might just live near old infrastructure, I now think this company is intentionally bad. Poor form Spectrum. read more

Only receiving one star because I have to give at least one. I will never be back. The services provided are so slow and underperforming. I decided to cancel and was told I had to come into the store to return the modem. I went in and after 45 minutes to an hour I received assistance. Only after asking if walkins were going to be helped or if they only take appointments and then go into the back until the next appointment checks in? I was very rudely told that walkins are taken after all appointments are done. But employees continued to take an appointment and then go in the back. I only got serviced after asking how much would they charge me if I just smash the modem. Robert needs to work on his customer service skills. Absolutely horrible experience read more

I visited the Spectrum Ala Moana location twice--once as a walk-in and once with a scheduled appointment. My first visit was on a Wednesday around 10am. I hadn't made an appointment, so I left my name and number as instructed and was told I'd receive a text when I was 5th in line. That text never came. After waiting a while with no updates and no one available to ask for help, I gave up and booked an appointment online. On my second visit, I came back with a scheduled appointment. You can only check in 15 minutes before your time, and until then, you're basically stuck waiting. There's nobody at the front desk to answer questions or help you out, which is super frustrating--especially if you just need to ask something simple. Forget about getting assistance unless you're checked in. Once I was checked in, I was helped by Brian, who was amazing. He was kind, patient, and efficient. We were in and out within 10 minutes of our appointment time. Honestly, Brian was the only saving grace for the 4 stars. If I hadn't been helped by him and shown his kindness, this review would've dropped to a 1 or 2 stars. Pros: - Brian at Ala Moana was incredibly helpful and professional - Online appointment system is easy to use Cons: - Appointments fill up fast--same-day slots are rare - Walk-in system didn't work as promised (no text received) - No front desk support--can't ask questions unless you're checked in - Location is very busy, so expect some wait time even with an appointment If you can get an appointment and connect with someone like Brian, the experience is smooth. Spoke to the specialist Gabriel inside the store and he was able to figure out and diagnose my problem back in Palm Springs California set up an appointment with a technician to come out and fix it and also was able to change my plan to save me money. After the small Spectrum shop in Hawaii Kai closed, we have been going to Ala Moana for various services. It helps to make an appointment before hand so you don't have to wait, and our waits have not been long. For years, we have tried to lower our cable bill and over and over were told we had the lowest plan available that included HBO and all these channels we never watched. When I worked downtown several years ago, I was able to subscribe to a basic package, which they kept telling me did not exist. A few months ago, we went in for another matter, and I again asked for a basic package and the guy said yes, they had it and changed our plan which saved us a lot of money. We still get the local channels and I subscribe separately to Japanese channels. The only thing I miss is getting news channels like CNBBC and MSNBC, but I can live with it. So I'd give the last rep 5 stars, but I don't remember his name. And the other reps were okay, but they didn't let us change to a cheaper plan. So if anyone else has a situation like this, just keep asking.! read more

Went to the School St Spectrum and spoke to Carl Ulep. Told him my mom doesn't need all the streaming services so want to change to just basic channels due to she got charged $258 for her TV and cable bundle and installation. She is almost 93 years old and on a fixed income. Carl looked into her plan and was able to get one that's $85 a month. He was so prompt, friendly, and efficient. I really appreciate his great customer service and would like to have him service me again if I ever need it. read more

PLEASE be warned, if you try to cancel services over the phone, expect to be harassed and make sure you got time cause they'll keep you on the phone for a good 20 minutes or more. I called 844-242-9935 which is automated and it finally led me to a rep from South Texas, Angel. (which probably was a bogus name) OMG, I told him why I was cancelling my service and he kept trying to persuade me with a better offer and pushing they're mobile services as well. I swear I must've said no 8 times. I even told him NO means NO! And he still asked me "why I was cancelling". I think it was just a tactic they use to piss you off so you hang up and don't get to cancel your service. Needless to say, I hung up. I called back later and got the same guy only he used a different name, but I knew his voice. I called back again and got another rep. No harrassment but did take a long time! I signed in and was number 21 on the list. Even though I didn't have an appointment and came in as a walk-in, I patiently waited, observing how busy yet organized the staff was. There were four Customer Service Associates assisting customers, and everyone seemed focused and courteous. When my name was called, I was helped by Robert, who was incredibly patient, professional, and thorough. My situation was a bit complicated, but he took the time to explain everything clearly, walking me through each step with true expertise and efficiency. When additional support was needed, he called on his manager Kevin, who was just as knowledgeable and professional. Together, they made what could have been a stressful experience into a smooth and positive one. I left feeling very satisfied and grateful for their exceptional service. It wasn't a very busy evening when me and my other half got there. Signed in and was 8th in the queue. This was at around 7pm on Thursday. Line moved quickly. About 4 customer representatives on hand with other customers ahead and after us. Clean store also plenty of free ample ground parking at Ala Moana Center for easy access. The staffs name was Zara, she was very friendly and helpful. We went there to exchange a defaulted digital cable box and was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Overall, great service and everything was smooth with home set up. I highly recommend Spectrum! read more

Paying my auntie's phone and television bill... My cousin was a bit anxious about not having television service for a couple of days. It seems as though my aunt was not well and was behind in making payments to Spectrum. I went to the Ala Moana Center location because it was close to my next appointment. Spectrum is on the Ewa Wing, across from Foodland Farms on the street level... all the way down from Meet Fresh and ABC Stores. When I signed in on the kiosk (because I didn't have an appointment), I was #24 on the list of walk-in customers. I thought I could do some shopping and return... I went to Marshall's and Starbucks to look at merchandise. When I returned, I wasn't any closer to being seen. I asked how I could delete my name from the list. I was told to just let it go. I had a 5pm dinner reservation. After dinner, I returned to Spectrum (they close at 8pm) and was #5 on the list. That was much better. I eventually paid the bill, but they couldn't add my cousin's name onto the account. Thanks for being polite and efficient anyway! The next day, I called Spectrum and got my cousin's name on the account - with my aunty on speakerphone to verify that she was okay with this change. Yay! It's all good now! read more

Pops & I were watching the Miami Dolphins game this past Sunday when our TV kept losing the TV cable signal. At first, I thought something was wrong with our TV, but after doing some troubleshooting, I realized that our Spectrum cable box had gone bad. Opened my trusty Yelp app. to see where the closest Spectrum store was, in conjunction to where I live. I saw that there was a Spectrum kiosk at Kahala Mall, but after reading the reviews, I knew that the location would be of no help to me for my cable issue. From there, I decided to go to the Spectrum store at the Ala Moana Shopping Center. Located towards the west end of the mall, you can find the Spectrum store just a few doors down from the Surfers Bakery, Meet Fresh, Starbucks, & ABC stores. It was easy to find the Spectrum store, as there are a lot of big signage. Upon entering the store, if you don't have an appointment, there was an electronic device by the entrance where you need to input what you're here for, and also put in your name. After completing that task, all you have to do is find a place to sit & hang out, and there is a electronic board where you can see your name, and what place your are in, before you will get help. After waiting for about 15 minutes, my name was called & a friendly Spectrum representative helped me. I told the representative about the problem was with my cable box, and also told him what I did to troubleshoot the cable line & box, and he immediately exchanged/replaced my cable box. To top off his great service, he even gave be a cool Spectrum shopping bag to boot! I can't say enough about the positive customer service I received today, especially after reading a few past Yelp reviews. Lol! All I can say is that the staff was friendly & efficient! Yes, there were a few people ahead of me when I walked in.........I wanna say I was about #12 in line after checking in, but like I said before, the wait time was just about 15 minutes, so you can see how fast these workers were working. Wow . 10 terminals . 2 people working . I rude employee in the back being very rude to all the elderly waiting in line. 18 people waiting -What a terribly managed store front. And NO drop off line to turn in equipment from Cancelled service . It's just awful. Still here - and I'm worried that the only female here who is doing nothing actually IS the manager ? She sees 30 people and just walks to back , comes out- maybe helps one person and then goes in the back . There are now 3 people in the back and 13 in line. .ridiculous. Can it get any better? Yes, it can! Oceanic Spectrum served us well 25 years, and Ala Moana Spectrum reduced our T-Mobile monthly bill in half AND got two new Samsung Galaxy A16 phones! Even with both of us having brain fog, Nico an Apple expert, identified other ways to improve our daily phone usage...the patience of Job. The kind Manger, Damian, even added his two cents, when we learned we had made a mistake giving them my husband's wrong phone number. We wanted to make sure all our contacts, voice message, photos all transferred, so they provided a new trainee, Gabriel, who was just like Angel Gabriel being an android expert! Three experts in one. I could leave negative stars I would. I've been here for 40 minutes, without even a hello. It's not a busy here, I guess the guys who work the evening shift like to stay here after hours because they aren't doing much, except making people wait. I was here a couple of days ago, it's was incredibly busy, I was called in less than 10 minutes. All I see are four guys standing there acting busy. What an ordeal this has been, 3 month saga.....First started out with construction team needing to come out to install the line...they showed up several weeks later, then did not communicate with the office that work was completed. Also was promised by the field rep that NHK world was part of the basic package- turns out it's not, have to pay $15 more for it. I just hope the Golf Channel is okay, since it's NOT the golf channel, but PGA Golf, and I'm paying extra for it. Also, was promised that the Xumo box was just like the TiVo box we had- all-in-one, works "just like a smart TV". NOT true. There are limited number of apps- No NHK World (which is free!!!) and No Viki- which any K-drama addict would know. THE WORST THING is she also said I could get rid of paying for all the extra boxes that I was paying for with HawntelCom because I could just download the spectrum app and all the other tvs that didn't have the box would work with the app. You can ONLY download the Spectrum TV app to SAMSUNG TV's - otherwise you have to BUY a ROKU stick for about $30 each (not Amazon Firestick) and download the app to that, and then use it...What a hassle and this will cost MUCH more!!!!! I just thank God that I did not switch my cell phones to them (based on a hefty usage fee for International Roaming). I was told by someone who switched their business lines, that Spectrum promised to pay all HawnTelCom penalties, but that NEVER happened. (Just as they promised they would pay off anymore I owed for my cell devices). They said I could do a self-install, but finally had to call in a tech- to their credit, Earl came quicker than a 911 response! But he had a TON of work to do (took about 2.5 hrs!!!) Lies, lies, lies..... Turns out my amplifiers work just great and I didn't need all the extra hardware they were trying to rent to me, which would not have worked as well as what I already have!!! read more

I have never been critical like others about any cable company that I have used. Ever. But I just sat for 35 mins, mostly on hold, to just sign up for the UH football season. Ridiculous. I can buy a Tesla on my phone and $200K worth of Apple on a Schwab account in less then a minute. But UH football from Spectrum? Noooooo. What a old system they must have. I mean the on hold thing warned us that we needed a code from the top of our statement when we finally get a human on line. But since they started the cost cutting program of getting customers go paperless, we had to dig up a statement from 2019! Remember 2019? Precovid? So we hunt for an old statement and when the guy finally comes online, he says that's too old and texts me a code. Then why the hell did they make us dig up a piece of paper from 5 years ago if that was so damn easy? To make a long story shorter, i asked if he could finish this thing without me, to which he replied no, I have to stay on the line. 10 mins later, he comes on and says I'm good to go... so apparently I didn't have to sit there... Spectrum, call Schwab, Morgan Stanley, et al to see how to do business off customers phones. This system is frikkin bonkers. read more

spectrum cable was hanging low-about 5 feet from ground around the bend just before Waihole Poi factory for over 2 weeks. This last wind event on 2/12/26, as i was driving north a gust of wind blew the cable connector into my car and scratched my passenger side mirror. When i called HPD they said they had received numerous calls on the swinging cable. When i call Spectrum to file a damage claim, they said the low swinging cable was due to the wind and they had no liability-Even though they new or should have known of the dangerous condition and either fix it or warn the public of the dangerous condition. Here's what actually happened: they dangled a "discount" without disclosing it was temporary (I found that out today), and they pushed their app without telling me it doesn't work on Fire TV. I went to the Spectrum (Ala Moana location) and got in line outside the store at 9:30am, assuming that the store would open at 10:00am. At 10 am, no sign of anyone in the store. At 10:15 still no sign of any employees. Finally at 10:30 am , two Spectrum service reps appear and start servicing the customers. By now there are 35-40 customers in the queue. What gets me is that at no time, did someone (like the store manager or team lead) come outside and at least explain to all the customers why there was a delay in opening the store. I'm been to other Spectrum locations and this is the worst one I have ever been in I know Spectrum has pretty much a monopoly on TV and internet service but they need to improve their customer service especially at this location. read more

I brought my cable box here to exchange because the box I had kept shutting down. I asked the service representative there if we are supposed to bring the power chord too and said I brought it too. He said no and gave me the new box, two remotes, two hdmi chords and two sets of batteries. Almost the whole time I'm there the guys is high pressuring me to get cell phone service with Spectrum. He didn't care if I never had an issue with my service like friends do with Spectrum Mobile. He did not care that I have 5 lines and I pay $125 for the 5 lines (he could not get close to matching it). What really pissed me off is that the guy did not do his job and give me a power chord that I clearly returned and told him I did. The guy should do his job and stop the high pressure sales and listen. When someone is not interested, stop. You are only irritating the people with better service. I'm seriously considering dumping cable altogether now seeing what little I get from Spectrum. I pay way less for service for 5 cell phones than I do for internet and no special cable service. read more

I think I reviewed this Spectrum location before . If your in a rush do not cone at this location because the service is very slow . I basically went there just to exchange my cable box for a new update model . Once arriving you need to sign into the computer to hold your spot. I was number #20 and I waited almost 1 hour . Finally I got to the counter and I realized why the customer service representative takes so long . I basically just wanted to exchange my box it should take only 5 minutes or less. But actually the representative goes over any special their offering . For example they have a bundle package which includes land line, internet, cell phone . I understand they probably have a sale quotas to make but I think that's why customers have to wait so long to get serviced.
