Just wanted to drop in and share what a wonderful experience I had making the switch over to…read moreHawaiian Telcom. Honestly, I'd been with the Spectrum for many years. But when my internet bill went up to $100 a month. I'd had enough. So I stopped by the Hawaii Telcom kiosk in Windward Mall. I met and was helped by Regina Espinoza (she gave me her card to share) . She shared about their program that is only $40/month for high speed internet, the process is locked in for 5 years, this process includes the router AND the first 2 months are free. She didn't have to tell me much more. I was sold at $40/month! She was able to set me up for install the following Wednesday, we decided on a time, afternoon. And we were set to go. On Wednesday afternoon, Robby our installer called to confirm the appointment and to let us know about what time he'd be at our home. Then he called again while he was on his way. My home is in a warehouse, so during the work day, parking can get a little tight. So I called him and told him that I'd make sure that he had a place to park. I had him park in my stall, while I ran some errands. I came home when I knew the parking lot would be clear. And Robbie was leaving to go up the road to make some kind of connection he needed for my install. He came back after a short while. He was very pleasant and courteous. He helped me download the app that I needed to complete the set up, walked me through the app set up and even helped me put my router up, off the floor, so my internet service wouldn't be so spotty. Last of all he asked if I was keeping Spectrum, I told him no way. And asked him if he'd help me take the Spectrum hardware off. He took all the PCs wrapped all the cords and put them on the floor in an easy place for me to get to. I can't express what an excellent level of excellence I received. I'm a very happy new customer and grateful to be "locked in for the next 5 years! " Big Mahalos to Regina and Robbie, for being wonderful examples of Hawaiian Tel com's excellent customer service!

DO NOT EVER CONSIDER USING THE SERVICE OF THIS COMPANY. We've been paying a $1000/mo for a closed…read morecircuit service. The past few months the service was virtually unusable in the evenings (1.77Mbps upload and 28.48Mbps upload speed instead of the 250/250Mbps promised speed). Two weeks ago, I spoke on the phone with a technician, Mike, and told them that our service is spotty and in the evenings it's virtually unusable. He said it's a general outage that is affecting our service too. They are working on it. OK, fine. Two weeks later, it's still the same. Called in last night, spoke with 2 reps, including Ray (the other guy refused to tell his name, just hung up on me). They were absolutely useless, and they literally lied to my face multiple times. Tonight, same thing, virtually unusable service. Called in, again, spoke with a woman, who said that Hawaiian Telcom disconnected our service(!!!!), and that's why it's not working. We didn't request anything like that, nor were we informed about such action. I told her that. She said she thinks it's because I called in two weeks ago, and talked to Mike, and that's why they disconnected our service. I thought I didn't hear it right, so I asked again, and she said the same thing: we no longer have service with Hawaiian Telcom(!!!) and because of this, she can't fulfill my request to connect me to her supervisor, then she hung up. Now, after 10pm, the internet is a little better, so it's CLEAR that our service wasn't disconnected. I can't decide if these reps are just liars or mentally ill because it felt like I was speaking with people who had zero connection to reality, and were just trying to make up things to avoid doing anything. After multiple lies from one of the guys, I requested to speak with his supervisor or another rep. He said that he can't connect me to anyone else. I asked why 3 or 4 times, because last time they did connect me to this closed circuit specialist (Mike). But he just kept saying that he can't because he can't. Why, are you the only employee working for this company, no one else?? "Yes." Then he hung up on me. I'm absolutely baffled. I've never experienced anything like that with any tech support line ever. And I even worked in tech for over a decade. AVOID THIS COMPANY AS FAR AS YOU CAN.

One of the worst customer service experiences I've had in a very long time. The amount of time I…read morehad to sit around waiting was absolutely ridiculous. I understand that businesses get busy and that unexpected issues happen, but there is absolutely no excuse for leaving customers waiting this long with little to no communication. At a certain point, you start wondering if anyone actually cares that you're there. You make the effort to come in, set aside your time, and wait patiently, only to sit there watching the clock while nothing happens. If there is going to be an extremely long wait, the least Spectrum can do is be upfront about it and communicate with customers instead of leaving them completely in the dark. What makes it even more frustrating is that customers are essentially forced to waste a huge portion of their day just to get basic assistance. People have jobs, appointments, families, errands, and other responsibilities. Our time matters too. Spectrum shouldn't expect customers to simply sit around indefinitely because their system or staffing can't keep up with demand. I honestly cannot understand how this is considered acceptable customer service. Waiting an unreasonable amount of time should not be treated as normal, especially when customers are paying for the service in the first place. Spectrum needs to seriously rethink how it handles customers and wait times. Better staffing, better communication, and a basic level of respect for customers' time would go a very long way. I left this experience feeling completely frustrated and disappointed. The service itself is one thing, but customer service is a huge part of the overall experience. When a company makes you feel like your time means absolutely nothing, it makes you seriously question why you're giving them your business in the first place. Do better, Spectrum. Customers deserve better than this.

I prefer to get my pocket wifi before leaving for my trip so I dont have to worry about it once landing. I usually book online and get a phone confirmation. Pick up is a day before your trip at their Waikiki location. The only hard part is their pick up location, but if you bring a friend with you to wait in the car, it should be fine - or you could grab a bite in the Waikiki shopping plaza since you're already driving there! The wifi itself is easy to use. They explain to you when you pick up, but its all pretty self explanatory. The battery lasted pretty much the whole day if fully charged and is small enough to carry around with you all day without adding extra weight. You can return the wifi when you get back to Hawaii on the departures floor after getting your luggage. Would highly recommend booking for your next Japan trip!

This is not good. I'm waiting here at the store for the second day!…read more Yesterday, it took over 4 1/2 hours to buy a new iPhone and to transfer my data from my old iPhone to the new iPhone. It doesn't end there. The data transfer did not transfer my events and medical appointments on my calendar. It also changed my calendar on my old iPhone so I couldn't retrieve the information and manually transfer it to the new iPhone. Hence, my second visit here. I made an appointment via the chat website for 11 am. I arrived a little early and checked in with Daryl (sp?). He couldn't seem to help me and then John, the manager appeared from the back door and I called him over for assistance. John assisted me the day before. John was helping another customer so I held back and waited for a bit. I informed him of the data transfer concerns. This was @11:19 am. He took a look at my phones (old and new) and he did a few things to both phones. Idk what he did to the phones. He left me @11:23 am to check on the other customer, who had been patiently waiting as well. Now it's @12:25 pm and I haven't seen John yet! I'm a pretty patient person, but it's cold in here and there is no restroom here for customers. One hour wait???? Geez Verizon. What's going on? There are other employees, however, John was the one assisting me yesterday, together with Leland. Leland wasn't in the store during my second visit. It's @12:45 pm and I finally get some time with John. I'm cold and tired. Don't get me wrong, Manager John appears nice and friendly. He just can't figure out what went wrong. The long and the short of this visit, was nothing could be done to resolve the glitch in Verizon's data transfer of my old iPhone to the new iPhone. I finally left this store at @1:06 pm. No resolution to the calendar data loss. Sorry if I miss any dates with anyone lol, including Yelp! There were also unknown charges on my bill that are still unanswered as it's difficult to have consistent service here. John attempted to explain the billing issues on the receipt saying that the next billing will reflect the correct amounts?! Not very comforting to hear that. Always ask for an itemized bill! You'll need it to check your next statement against what was "promised " here. Side note: The first day I had three different employees switch out on me. Each one kept going behind the back door for lengthy amount of times, only to have its customers wait for their magical reappearance. The customer sitting next to me even quipped that he wonders what they do back there lol. I asked an employee what was back there and I was told it's a break room. John said it also is a place to do research and more? The second day, same thing happened. I kept seeing employees go through this door for lengthy time periods. I can't really recommend this location for service unless you really have a whole lot of time to wait. Maybe, it's time to switch plans Verizon?!
