I interviewed 4 companies and initially chose a different company over Gigaisland because (1) At that time, Laine did not have any employees. (2) The other company offered "unlimited" tech support for a monthly fee. A year or two later, the service from the other company went drastically downhill to the point where we were no longer able to function. I called Laine to see if he had hired employees. I was pleased that he now had a team in place! We switched over to Gigaisland early this year. I was thrilled with the transition for the following reasons: (1) The move was completely seamless - at least from the Gigaisland side. Getting the required information from the former IT company was a different story. We did not have ANY downtime. (2) Gigaisland was able to almost immediately fix an ongoing problem that the other IT company had NOT fixed for 9 months in spite of my following up every 2 weeks. (3) Although Gigaisland does NOT offer "unlimited" phone support, they are more than fair with their pricing and it has not been a problem at all. The other company said they would offer unlimited support but then wanted to charge a lot for projects or anything "extra." (4) Laine and his entire team have been SUPER responsive, solving our problems almost immediately. (5) My biggest concern was what would happen if a computer went down. In the past, this has caused MONTHS of downtime. Now this has happened & Laine & team are resolving it in only a couple of business days - NOT months. (6) They do not treat us like a small company - they treat us like we are their most important customer. If you are a local company who is considering switching from a local IT company that used to be great but now is not providing you the same service as before (I think you know what I mean) then consider interviewing Gigaisland.
