I love Jim and his team at Security Alarm Shop. They are knowledgeable and super nice and easy to work with. We have had four different companies service our business for the last 20 plus years. We had the clinic hardwired back when we first opened up, which was like the standard back then. I really love the low maintenance and reliability of a hard wired system. Several years ago I decided to switch companies to someone who could offer more interfaces with my cel phone. I selected Aloha Alarm because of all the great reviews on Yelp. They were great at first and reasonably priced. I like the Alarm.Com interface and was happy. Then the panel started saying that the cel phone interface would need to be upgraded. They said my panel would need to be replaced and quoted me over $2200 for the installation? Seriously we were customers for about 4 years and the new panel was about $400 on Amazon. Plus they wanted another 4 year contract. I then learned that the company was sold and the new mainland based company did not have as much Aloha. I was out of contract so I searched for an alarm company. To my surprise Security Alarm Shop had great reviews. We had used them for years for our pagers. (Yes I know it's old but still loved that thing). Anyway Jim gave me a great deal on the panel (I think it was free, but I can't remember). This was over a year ago and they have been great. They changed the panel and keypads. I had to change to the Honeywell Total Control app which I don't like as much as the Alarm.Com but that was because I wanted a Honeywell panel. I requested service to replace a couple of old glass break and motion sensors which were 20 years old. They charged me just the cost of the equipment and did the service for free. Plus my monthly service rate is really affordable. I really like these guys. I was contemplating using ring security and doing the install and monitoring myself but as this is a business I wanted more of an expert to service and maintain the system. I couldn't be happier. I plan to install ring camera ms to supplement but I know the base system is solid. read more

I know that if someone breaks in, opens a door or a window when the alarm is set, a very loud alarm will go off and I will receive an immediate call asking if I am okay. How nice. Several years ago, we had previously installed a home alarm system (door/window sensors, motion sensors & control panel. We were very satisfied with the quality & efficient operation of our existing system. So our new situation was a bit unique in that we wanted to keep the current equipment, but needed a new monitoring service. I called 3 local companies for estimates. Two companies wanted to install new control panels & the startup costs varied between $200 - $900. I made an appointment with Jim from Security Alarm Company. He showed up on time as promised. He was very friendly yet very professional & informative. He did a complete review of my existing equipment & the locations of the existing sensors & panel. He said that we could maintain all the existing equipment with some modification/upgrade inside the existing control panel & sensors. His price quote was very reasonable & best of all, within our budget. So we set a date for their technicians to come. The two technicians showed up as promised, very efficiently modified the control panels & and placed new batteries in all the sensors. We had some existing 'specialized' equipment & they were very knowledgeable in the required upgrade needed for that also. It's been several months now & our system works like a charm. The service is great and their installers do a great clean and efficient job of installing your alarm. Once your alarm is installed the tech reviewed the the remote with you to show you how to arm and disarm the alarm. I've never had any problems with my alarms. Awesome service and value with this company. I first met Jim who was able to answer all of my questions and make me feel the most comfortable that he really cared about our home security safety. Keawe and Ron were my installers, very very knowledgable in setting up an alarm. Even after my alarm was installed, Jim and the security alarm shop team were of great help to me when I had questions about using the alarm. I shopped around wanted an alarm system that could be installed with a partition under one account. All other companies that gave me quotes said they could only do it if it's set up under two systems and two accounts. I didn't want that. This company was able to accommodate my wishes, one alarm system, one account and two panels to operate. We own a multi family type home where we rent out a sectioned off part of our house and live in the other part of the house. As the owners and landlord we wanted it all to be under one account. Customer service means A LOT to me and I don't write reviews unless the company is exceptional or horrible. I'd say security alarm shop is pretty exceptional! Would recommend to anyone who expects quality. Oh and I loved that they were very courteous and careful not to damage anything in my home. They advised me where would be the best place for the panel and involved me in the decision making of where I wanted the panel to be placed. Took our brand new 2010 model car in to get an alarm put in. The car was absolutely brand new with no dings, scratches, etc. When we received the car back it was scratched multiple times on the interior where the techs were working. We noticed it immediately and pointed it out to the technicians who immediately denied it was them even though they admitted to working extensively at the location of the damage. I mean seriously, the car was a week old, and it was VERY noticeable as soon as you opened the door where the damage had been done. Alarm works ok, but for the lack of compensation for the damage, I'd take my car somewhere else next time to a place that's more careful, and at least owns up to their mistakes. read more

Always got my alarms from them whether it was at the PC location years ago, or the Queen Street location. Fast, no bullshit kind of installation. Recently was there to have my truck alarm checked because the darn alarm would go off while I'm driving. Heck even at stop lights when people are crossing the street. Make ass! Called in the morning and went in an hour later. When I arrived, I recieved a comprehensive review on all the alarm systems they had. I was told that it would take two and half hours to complete, but they called me about an forty five minutes early to let me know it was finished. When I arrived, I paid for my alarm and was escorted to my car where the alarm tech (I forget his name) took his time to explain how my alarm worked and asked if I had any questions. I was looking for an alarm shop I could truly trust to basically rip my brand new car apart, so came here. I called on Wednesday morning when they opened at 10, and they said they could install it on the same day so I went in about an hour later. As I arrived, the tech was very friendly and explained how much it would cost, long it would take, etc. Costed about $400 for the AutoPage 2 way alarm, despite that I had no one to come with me, I had to wait about three and a half hours.
