No. I donʻt think so. I helped my 82 year old mother sign in with the person who greeted us with a tablet. She checked us in and let us know that my mother would be notified through text or phone when it was time for her to be serviced. We ended up waiting for 35 minutes. Poor customer service. I do not recommend.

Bu-loop! Bu-loop! Bu-loop! As I layed down to sleep, all of a sudden I kept hearing a - "Ba-loop! Ba-loop! Ba-loop!" What was that sound? Why it was my phone that was on my phone charger, and that sound usually happens when I first put my phone on the charger to charge up. Now the real question is - "why was my phone repeatedly making that noise???" Especially since I just put it on the charger before I went to bed....... After a few more - "Ba-loop's", I just couldn't stand the noise anymore so I got off my bed, and walked back into the room where my phone was being charged. At first, I thought something was wrong with my new phone, but after I touched my phone charger, my charger was on FIYAH!!!! Oweeee!!! That's what happened when I touched the HOT phone charger to disconnect the charger from the electrical outlet! Well, that charger went straight into the trash can, and that's how I ended up at the Verizon store inside of the Kahala Mall shopping center da next day. What can I say about my experience shopping at Verizon? Safe, and very good customer service! The discount on my phone charger was just a bonus! Kinda like puttin' da cherry on top of my custard pie! :D So here's how it works during Covid-19 times......... As I arrived at the Verizon store (they are located just across from T&C Surf - Town & Country Surf), you can't just enter the store. You must wait outside until a Verizon representative comes out to assist you. I guess they are doing this to limit how many customers can go into the establishment at once, due to capacity limits during Covid-19 times. A good thing, as it keeps everyone safe! The clerk that helped me (darn, I forgot to get his name) was very helpful in assisting me on finding the charger I was looking for. As a bonus, I got the charger for 1/2 off! Can we say "DEALAGES Yo!" After picking up my charger, the friendly clerk guides me to this kiosk machine, and I just make my payment via credit card to this machine. I get my receipt, and BOOM! I'm out da door like a flash! What a wonderful shopping experience! Should I need something else in the near future, I'll be sure to head back to this Verizon store!

Leading me to assume that I was going to be without my phone for a day. The counter girl asked for my email and said it would be about 30 minutes. The kid doing the work confirmed that yes, it would take about 30 minutes. So i handed my phone over and did some shopping. I came back about 30 minutes later, and sure enough. The repair was complete. While i was waiting in line to pick up my phone. The Tech kid was explaining to customer when its a good time to replace the battery, and when to get rid of the phone. Found their conversation enlightening. I paid the $80, with a thank you, and out into the world i went. The only knock I would give them is the credit card "surcharge". Which I was told about at the very beginning. So if you go there to get your phone repaired. BRING CASH... I will definitely be a repeat customer.

I arrived to the location at around 12:30pm (time stamp in image.) I spoke to two employees. I talked to one employee that took a look at my iPad and confirmed the price and time to pick up (2 hours). I also confirmed again with the guy who managed the payment that it would take two hours. I show up around 4:45pm and no one greets me walking in. So I walk up (five minutes later) to the first employee and asked if the tablet is ready. She told me, "Oh you're early, I just have to put on the screen." It had been 2+ hours since I dropped off so I was confused but I said I will wait till they are done. I came back around 50 minutes later and the repair is not done yet. At this point it is already 5:45pm and it has not been finished. I wait until 6:18pm and she hands me it without apologizing for the wait or anything. I regret not saying anything about the time issue but it feels conflicting because of all the things I signed and I am not sure if I am in right to. The problem is not how long it takes, but it was the misinformation about when pick up would be. I confirmed with two people that it would be ready in two hours. It came out to almost 6 hours. I would not have minded dropping it off and coming back another time, if they had communicated that. But I was told it was 2 hours so I waited there, standing in the store and not wanting to rush the employees. The repair itself is excellent but the customer service was conflicting. I paid $329.84 and expected quality care. I do wish I had a better experience because it seems others do.

I originally purchased the case at the Ala Moana location. Before I left, I specifically asked the employee who helped me if I could return it at ANY location without the account/contract holder being present. He clearly told me YES, any store could process the return. I went to the Kahala location first and was told, "Sorry, you can't return this here." So I then drove all the way to the Kapahulu location just to make this simple return. When I walked into the Kapahulu store, there were THREE employees working, and not one of them acknowledged me for at least 20 minutes. No "Hi," no "We'll be right with you," nothing. I just stood there waiting while being completely ignored. When someone was finally available, Kaylee helped me. I explained that I simply needed to return the phone case. Without even checking anything, she immediately told me she couldn't return it without the contract holder's ID. I explained that I purchased the case separately. Then suddenly the reason changed -- now she said she couldn't refund me because there was a discount on it. At that point, it honestly felt like I was just being given excuse after excuse and the runaround because she simply did not want to process the return. She made absolutely no effort to even TRY to help until it turned into an argument. And after arguing for several minutes, what happened? Kaylee simply ran my card and processed the refund. That was it! So clearly it COULD be done the entire time. I cannot believe I had to drive to multiple locations, stand around for 20 minutes without even being acknowledged, be given multiple excuses, and then ARGUE with an employee just to get a simple refund that ultimately took seconds to process. PLEASE, some customer service! A simple "Let me see what I can do" would have gone a long way. Customers should not have to ARGUE with employees just to get them to attempt to help. Absolutely terrible and disappointing experience.

Before beginning the repair, the staff looked up our account and then proceeded to remove the damaged screen and install a brand-new one. Only after the repair was completed were we told that they could not locate this particular phone on our account and that, as a result, we would have to pay to set up an entirely new account rather than pay the low-cost screen replacement fee we had expected. This should have been verified before anyone touched the phone. What happened next was even more frustrating. Rather than acknowledging their mistake and finding a reasonable way to make the situation right, we were told that the best they could do was remove the brand-new screen they had just installed and put our damaged screen back on. They did exactly that -- except the old screen could not be reapplied properly. It was returned to us full of air bubbles and in worse condition than when we walked into the store. So we came in with a damaged but usable screen and left minutes later with a phone in significantly worse condition, all because the store failed to verify our eligibility before beginning the repair. Mistakes happen. What determines whether I continue doing business with a company is how it responds when it makes one. An apology, acknowledgment of the error, and a reasonable effort by management to make things right would have gone a long way. Instead, there was no meaningful attempt to rectify a problem the store itself created. Had management handled this differently, they could have retained us as customers. Instead, this experience ensured the opposite.

But when my internet bill went up to $100 a month. I'd had enough. So I stopped by the Hawaii Telcom kiosk in Windward Mall. I met and was helped by Regina Espinoza (she gave me her card to share) . She shared about their program that is only $40/month for high speed internet, the process is locked in for 5 years, this process includes the router AND the first 2 months are free. She didn't have to tell me much more. I was sold at $40/month! She was able to set me up for install the following Wednesday, we decided on a time, afternoon. And we were set to go. On Wednesday afternoon, Robby our installer called to confirm the appointment and to let us know about what time he'd be at our home. Then he called again while he was on his way. My home is in a warehouse, so during the work day, parking can get a little tight. So I called him and told him that I'd make sure that he had a place to park. I had him park in my stall, while I ran some errands. I came home when I knew the parking lot would be clear. And Robbie was leaving to go up the road to make some kind of connection he needed for my install. He came back after a short while. He was very pleasant and courteous. He helped me download the app that I needed to complete the set up, walked me through the app set up and even helped me put my router up, off the floor, so my internet service wouldn't be so spotty. Last of all he asked if I was keeping Spectrum, I told him no way. And asked him if he'd help me take the Spectrum hardware off. He took all the PCs wrapped all the cords and put them on the floor in an easy place for me to get to. I can't express what an excellent level of excellence I received. I'm a very happy new customer and grateful to be "locked in for the next 5 years! " Big Mahalos to Regina and Robbie, for being wonderful examples of Hawaiian Tel com's excellent customer service!

If you want to hear a true-crime story, keep reading, if not, just skip to my synopsis in the last paragraph. A seemingly nice salesman walked around our neighborhood making all kinds of sales and speed claims and price claims, et cetera. He managed to wrangle my contact info out of my dear wife so that he could contact me and inform me of my options, and my very first call is an autodial saying that I'm signed up for a service installation at some date and time they decided to choose?!! Then, I start receiving spam emails about an upcoming service install. I call them up and the man on the line with a thick accent is asking me what the name on my account is and I'm trying to explain that I never even spoke with the sales person, much less agreed to any service, much less, created an account with them. I offer my name and nope! That's not it. We finally figure out that they snaked my wife's name and they've now made up an account with her name on it and now they want me to have her authorize me to speak on her behalf?!! So basically we're now in identity theft territory. I patiently but firmly ask to make a formal complaint against this salesman who conned my wife. But surprise, surprise, the system somehow does not list the name of the salesman. (But I guarantee the company would know who to credit with the "sale" if it somehow went through, otherwise, Mr. Salesman would not be visiting houses if he isn't getting paid.) I am told that they will look into it and "if they can figure it out", they will get back to me. After pressing the agent on the phone, he admits that they actually don't really have that info available to them in their system (so obviously, they would have never called me back). Synopsis: This company is basically a black hole of starless (pun fully intended) darkness: lying and identity-thieving salespeople, zero transparency on who sold or setup our "account". It's institutionalized theft. Run, do not walk from them and for the love of Pete, do NOT give anyone who represents them or claims to represent them your contact info- Take a card (if you MUST) and tell them, that WE will call YOU (if/when we lose our minds, forget completely about this Yelp review (and the thousand like it), and are looking to begin a long term, abusive relationship, against our favor). 2026-07-06----Response to Maria (or is it Jode?) from HawaiianTelcom. I don't have time to further detail anything that hasn't already been said. If, however, you can provide proof that your sales people have been retrained to NOT sign people up for service they never agreed to, AND show proof that Hawaiian Telcom has updated their systems to have some transparency by simply allowing their own "help" department visibility into who made the sale, then I will consider revisiting my review. But until then, this is my honest experience and a warning to my friends and neighbors to not give your info to these folks. The lack of accountability seems institutionalized and if so, it would indicate that the apple is rotten to the core.
