My mom's old iPhone 8 Plus was on its last legs -- the touchscreen would often stop responding, and…read moreshe had to restart the phone using the volume button just to get the screen working again. Suddenly, the volume button also stopped working, which meant she couldn't restart the phone at all when the screen froze. We were looking for a bare minimum solution, to have the old phone be functional long enough to transfer her data to a new phone. I called a few places looking for a simple, temporary fix, and luckily found this store. When I explained the situation, they offered to help with the data transfer instead of repairing the older phone. They temporarily installed a working screen on the old phone, let us complete the transfer, and then even swapped the cracked screen back afterward. They went above and beyond, no other store offered a similar solution besides repairing the old phone completely. I would absolutely recommend this place!

I already had past issues with the shop when I went in February to get a laptop screen replaced…read morebecause they damaged my laptop cover with the screwdriver which left a permeant carving. I tried disputing it with my credit card but the merchant lied saying I never contacted them back about the issue. Even though I emailed 2 separate times, called like 4 which one of the calls lasted 10 minutes of me trying to get a refund, and went to the shop 2 separate occasions. I did not immediately approach them right away, I had class after the pick up because I am a college student. I also didn't re-contact my bank back because it is too much effect, I had midterms during then, and if they need the money so badly they can keep it. Now it is July 18 and the cheap replacement they gave me has a fat yellow tint looking like a long vertical line on the left side of my screen. This 100% due to a hardward issue, and now I cannot reach out about the issue because the shop is dishonest, and disingenuous. If you want your laptop worse off come here, if not take the extra money to a different shop with actual integrity.

This is where I've had all my phones, and finally my first nontard phone (Galaxy S4) Yay. But…read moreseriously, I'm just happy it's not an iPhone. Ugh. So, T-Mobile undeniably has some really retarded things and operations, but the manager of this branch does her best to make this a simple and painless process. If you have any questions or problems, she'll try to help you solve it. I've had multiple problems from things like phone defects (thanks, Samsung, so reliable), to random glitches with texting and internet service, and a few minor things like turning off wifi calling and screen rotation. Most of the time I'm here, it's simply because of something wrong with the phone/service, and she's been very helpful every time. The only real reason this place gets docked a star is simply because of how retarded T-Mobile can be with their operations, especially with the roundabout delivery of the Galaxy S4, as if it's too dangerous to deliver it directly and have us pick it up there. I mean, seriously, we have to go there anyway for a new SIM card. I don't even think people know this place exists, unless they're contracted here, 'cause nobody really pays attention to anything on this corner or section of Main St. for that matter. Seriously, T-Mobile would lose a lot of customers if they didn't have people like her working everyday ironing out all of the issues. I never had any problems with my Motorola phones, but holy sheiza, when I got Samsung, let the problems roll. Fortunately my Galaxy S4 seems fine; I just needed a new SIM card.

I wholeheartedly recommend Jessica Valencia at Cosmo Repair. She's the owner and an excellent…read moretechnician, and it's a pleasure to support a small business where you can actually reach the person who does the work -- by phone or text. Jessica has been in business since 2008 and has been at The Paseo (formerly Paseo Colorado) in Old Town Pasadena for many years, though in different mall locations. She also graciously validates parking. I came in late afternoon to have her inspect my older Samsung phone. Parts took two days to arrive; if you go early enough, they sometimes come the next day. She orders Samsung screens made in Korea. They are not OEM, but mine passed the fingerprint sensor configuration test, which is important. You want to see if the screen's sensitivity is working properly. If you don't want fingerprint login, just delete it after the test. There's a 90-day warranty. I returned two days later. She installed the replacement screen and camera while I waited in the lobby. There's a comfortable black couch and a nice view of shoppers at The Paseo. She really rescued this phone. Another shop had damaged the camera while replacing a cracked screen and sold me a knockoff that developed vertical lines in under a year and wasn't touch-sensitive. Jessica replaced that non-Korea screen and fixed the camera. If you need Samsung repair, go to Cosmo. Wherever you take the phone, ask for a Korea-made screen and confirm it passes the fingerprint sensor configuration test before you leave.
