I was sooooo very close to buying a car from CarMax and selling them my car. Valley Lexus had an older model, with a little higher mileage but more safety features and upgrades. And the car was L/Certified with two years maintenance included. I texted with Tim about the car and next thing you know I'm driving from Sacramento to Modesto to trade in my 2009 Corolla and pick up my new car. The experience could not have been smoother. It only took about two and a half hours to drive the new car, learn about the new car, trade in the old car, and pay for it all. Overall, it was a very pleasant car buying experience. Gary called me back promptly and was nice. He doesn't deserve this its not on him, but he quoted me $685 + tax to replace a window on the passenger side of my car. $685 plus tax - really? Thank goodness my insurance company balked at paying that and sent me elsewhere. Valley Lexus would not have gotten too it for 4 days due to the Memorial Day Weekend, and the other guys came out and did it today at my house for $165 total with tax. Shame on you Valley Lexus. Dropped my car off for recall work the other day. They gave me a brand new loaner while they kept my car for the weekend. The only bad thing about this dealership is that you want to buy everything when you are there. I couldn't imagine driving something that's not a Lexus. Their service center lacks customer service. I scheduled an appointment to drop my car off for service over my lunch hour, and had my boyfriend follow me so he could promptly drive me back to my office in Oakdale to avoid taking a longer lunch break. When I dropped the car off, I asked for a ride back from Oakdale because my boyfriend had a dinner meeting in the Bay Area that evening, and would not be able drive me back to the dealership, the service advisor informed me that they don't drive to Oakdale. My office is 11 miles from the dealership. Each time I visit the dealership, I spend a couple hundred dollars, so I don't think it's too much to ask that I get a ride one way especially when it was only 11 miles. read more

Hmmmm, husband asked how can he make an appointment. They said they would have a service manager call him. Hmmm, never returned his call. Husband called again, still no one there to make a very simple appointment. Well we surmised that they don't need our business, they surely do not value us as Lexus owners, and customer service is very low on their list of good service. Took my car into Valley Lexus to be serviced. I had made an appointment almost a week prior for a 35k service. I got there a few minutes early and checked in at the desk. The women asked me who my advisor was -- like I was supposed to know. She asked me to have a seat. After over 20 min of being totally ignored, I was told that Ed (my service advisor) was still on the phone. The receptionist could see I was irritated and asked another women (Terri) if she could help me. Terri ask me "what was up?" I told her we were here for a service. She walked away and came back 10 min later with paperwork saying they were going to perform the 35k service. I'm thinking ok, it took a half hour to establish I was here for a 35 k service. Hmmm. She said it would be approx 70 min to rotate tires and check everything . I did not want to wait around. She offered no ride. My husband graciously stayed. I called and Uber and left. I would give them 0 stars if I was able too. I brought my car in to get checked out because the radio stopped working. They said it was the factory amp and they didn't have this in stock. I then went home and made an appointment to have this fixed 10 days later. When I arrived at my appointment they take car back and 2 hours later tell me they don't have part here. I asked to see the manager because I took a day off work to get this fixed and if it wasn't here hey should of called me and let me know. They said the manager was on the phone with a supplier and that he said the phone call would be a while I told him ok I will wait. It's taken 1 hour him to finally see me and here me. He was basically ducking the conversation because they were in wrong and didn't want to deal with it. I will never buy a Lexus again and never take any care here again. Called to ask a question about our end of lease options. Talked to ??? (I can't remember his name) and he said I would have to go through a sales person and do the credit application. I told him that I would be there around 2:30ish. Came into the dealership and met by a salesman who could not answer my question without getting help from behind the desk. He was told to tell me that they needed to see the car, even though I bought the car from them and was ready to just roll our payoff into a buy. They are only interested in selling the cars at this dealership, not following through with customer service, and taking care of people who purchased from them. Past experience with this dealership, could not get our Lexus in for a 20,000 mile service, I was told they were 3 weeks out, for an oil change appointment. I was even told by the service girl to call the Toyota dealership, and maybe they could get me in quicker.......yes they did, the next day! I sent my inquiries on their website on Thursday night and within less than 2 hours, I was greeted (via email-my preferred way of communications) by their internet sales assistant Sarah who introduced me to Josh the next day to help me find a Lexus that meets my expectations. It was such a pleasant experience communicating with Josh via emails. I asked a lot of questions and Josh always got back to me promptly without appearing impatient or annoyed-he remained professional, courteous and personal the entire time. I appreciate Josh's work ethic, uplifting attitude, kindness and integrity which were important and refreshing to me! Although in the end, I decided not to pursue the deal due to budgetary reasons, Josh did not give me a cold shoulder and instead, he expressed his understanding and informed me that he would keep my client profile and check for a compatible car for me and my husband in the future. This is the only place I will bring my Lexus for servicing. My Lexus is 17 years old yet the treatment I get every time come here is just golden. As for people who swear you get "ripped off" whenever you take your car in for work, I have to believe they don't own a Lexus. Because as old as my car is, she's had to have a lot of work done to her and when it is a high ticket item, I have done my due diligence in getting second and third opinions/quotes from other auto shops. Yet the pricing is pretty much always in line PLUS I can be confident that I am getting genuine Lexus parts AND if the work will take a while, they give me a beautiful newer Lexus loaner car, saving me a ton of money in having to get a rental. So all of you who get "ripped off" at your dealerships, I am sorry for you but happy to say Lexus does not do that whatsoever. And my all time favorite Advisor ever is Ed Sarkis at Valley Lexus. He is just such a wonderful human being and is so patient in explaining car matters to someone like me who is a little car challenged. I always ask for Ed and will continue to do so.
