I'm new to Batavia since last May and was so happy to have a main post office so close. Plenty of parking, great staff, clean and well stocked with everything for mailing. Also nice that there is an outside maildrop and inside too for packages and letters. read more

This is the most RUDEST place to go to for postal services, the employees are ALWAYS rude and seem very unhappy. They can be rude and snobby to the custyomers, but the customers are not supposed to say anything back to them because they are federal employees blows my mind. read more

In general the Batavia carriers have been good to great so that side of things lets them get 2 stars. The office itself gets zero stars. I ship a lot so I knpw most of the regulations. If I go to the counter I'll often get incorrect advice or hear them give other customers incorrect advice. The backroom people are slipping badly. About half my packages aren't getting departure scans which means I don't know where the package is until it hits a sorting center or occasionally until it is delivered. That makes the extra fee for tracking worthless. I go to the North Aurora PO when I can. It's the exact opposite there. Friendly counter staff and accurate scans. I recently dropped off a package there that was delivered before a package dropped off earlier at Batavia showed up in tracking as outside the office. read more

Wanted to commend Mike and Tryvelle for possibly breaking protocol and having a heart in order to save Christmas for my son's teachers. It looked like we weren't going to get his teachers gifts (21 teachers! At a therapeutic school) in time for break; package scanned into Batavia on time but mail had already been delivered for the day. Getting the next day would not help since last day school before break. I called expecting Mike to say no, on the truck and can't help you... but Tryvelle (ie Santa to us) dug through mountains if mail to find our package, personally called and even offered to meet me in the Post office lobby to avoid the long lines. There are already plenty of terrible reviews about this PO. It is truly the worst one I've encountered in my 69 yrs. I had my mail held for 2 wks and it was to be delivered the final day to my home. No held mail was delivered. It's been almost 2 wks. I've been up there 3x and talked to 2 different carriers. Samantha the Post Master who is useless, told me that the mail was either delivered or I didn't have any! Seriously? Who doesn't get ANY mail, junk or otherwise in 2 wks? It's tax time, 1099s are going out and who knows what I am missing? This just makes me furious. Samantha handed me the number for the postal police for the country. She couldn't be bothered to look into my loss of 2 wks of mail and clearly didn't care at all. They don't even deserve one star. Absolutely the worst service and mail delivery....except when our normal carrier Mariah is delivering, she's outstanding, 5 stars for her! But when she's off we have these "substitute" or idiots I call them! They will deliver your neighbors mail to you and your mail is missing in action. Even with the flag up on the mail box, the "substitutes" don't stop and gather outgoing mail. Batavia Post Office, train your substitutes to deliver mail, THAT'S THEIR JOB! Horrid. Just awful, rude people all the way up to, and definitely including, the manager. I sent an employee in to buy stamps. The bought the wrong kind by mistake. I ended up with nearly $1,000 worth of stamps for a small mailing that was going out on postcards (they bought 1st class stamps instead of post card stamps). Simple issue, right? Wrong. They would not exchange the stamps for the number needed and refund the difference. The person I talked to pointed to the receipt which says "no cash refunds" or something along those line. When I pointed out that the receipt is handed to people AFTER they've already handed over their money, and that this was just a simple mistake made literally less than 30 minutes before this conversation, she simply said, "that's the policy." When I asked who I could talk to in management she literally thumped her chest and said "Me". If she had challenged me to an arm wrestling match or a battle behind the dumpster, USPS uniform and all, I wouldn't have been at all surprised. When I asked for someone over her she directed me to a number on the receipt which nobody answers. Blech. Hate this place. The people are simply nasty and don't give a single #$%^ about their customers. read more

I just left this post office and wanted to send a package to a local address priority mail. I left there shaking so scared and upset at how I was verbally abused by a counter person named Ronda. I've lived in this area for 20yrs and will only use this post office on Saturday because of the extended hours which is often enough to recognize the usual counter employees. This is the first time Ronda "helped" me. Sadly I can only conclude that she was severely abused as a child. Without going into detail every single move I made from approach to her counter even though nobody was standing there she strictly said aloud I DIDN'T call you yet yelling it. Like it would hurt for me to dare walk from line to wait at her space no other counter person available btw. Through the process she guided me with so much hostility like I TOLD YOU! Or your having such a hard time. I was appalled and traumatized to such an extent I left without mailing the package and sent it UPS instead. read more

A post office is a post office you might say. Although I live in Geneva, I would prefer to go to this post office over against the Geneva or St. Charles post office. I think that this post office is most accessible and has great parking. You will find Mail boxes easily accessible inside and out. You can even see a movie next door at the movie theater. read more

This is by far the worst post office staff I have ever encountered!! We just moved to the area and I am in direct sales, so I ship a lot of product! NEVER HAVE EVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH MY SHIPMENTS IN THE PAST 2 YEARS!! Apparently today, my shipment is not allowed, and never had been allowed, to be shipped thru the post office.... but it has been my primary way of shipping for the past 2 years without any issues!! This is my 3rd time coming to this location, all 3 times there has been an issue with something... wether it be with me or another customer. I prefer this post office to the nearby Oak Street location, which is almost always backed up with long lines of people trying to mail packages or pick-up stamps. The Batavia post office is quiet and nicely laid out - when you first walk in the building, you're greeted by the self-serve options, including a machine that allows you to buy (customized) stamps or mail a package without the aid of a postal worker. There are also two indoor drop boxes for your packages and letters in this main atrium. To the left of the entrance are the postal boxes, and to the right you'll find the main counter where you can buy mailing supplies or mail something with the aid of an employee. Recently, I also purchased a money order through this post office, and I know they do passport work as well. The employees are not overly friendly here (nor are they at most post offices, unfortunately). I had a somewhat complicated package to mail a few weeks ago (complicated in that I also wanted to include a postage-paid return envelope) and needed to get it out ASAP. I made it to the post office with 10 minutes to spare before closing, and the postal worker who assisted me was quite clearly annoyed at my presence. I certainly don't know why, as I managed to get out of the post office with two minutes to spare (two minutes before closing, that is). There really is no reason to write a review about the Post Office in Batavia as others before me have already hit the nail on the head. I personally refuse to go in to interact with any of the employees who have been there forever and I believe each day compete for a "who can be the biggest curmuegeom" award. It's a tight competition I assure you. My complaint is about the entire USPS. One week ago I sent a first class certified letter from Batavia to Dallas. It was expected to be there Saturday. That's 6 days for a route Google says my skinny legs can bike in 3. Today I checked and the delivery was delayed! Why? Weather is clear. No holidays in the way. We are now on day 7 and still no delivery. Are they tempting me to take the Google waking route of 13 days to deliver my own mail? Our entire postal system is a joke and why it is funded beyond responsable expectations is a travesty. A sender used an old address which was in Carol Stream now we cannot get through because they never answer their phones, and I was told by the USPS Customer Service that my package is sitting there but they will not forward to new address even if we pay for it. It was also an issue finding the tracking number because someone with USPS marked the item as "Delivered" then changed the status to "Forwarded." The forward address also would not display for the general customer service or on the automated system but they said since we have been out of that address over 1 year, it will be sent back to sender. I get my mail at 7:30 at night -- which I don't know about because it's dark and the mailboxes are across the street from my house. So my mail WITH PACKAGES I am expecting sits in the box all night. Amazing customer service! Went in looking for a package that supposedly was delivered, but never received it. I was invited into the "inner sanctum" where the supervisor, Chuck Norris, spent almost an hour tracking and tracing the tracking number I had been given...turns out it was most likely stolen from in front of my garage. This is by far the worst post office in the entire Chicago suburbs that I have ever visited. The staff is very rude -- I cannot believe how I have witnessed them treat other people. The line is always incredibly long, so during the last 4 years I have been here on at least 100 occasions, and I have seen them treat dozens of people horribly. I have started driving an extra 20+ minutes each way to go to the Aurora post office instead, which is also open late. I would avoid this post office at all costs. I can't even believe they have been allowed to function with so much incompetence and unprofessionalism for so many years. Words cannot describe how much I love the US postal service! Not only do I still love checking the mail everyday to see if I get anything (I know, but it's fun!), but as someone who has sold things online I cannot express how wonderful it is to have reasonably priced shipping to anywhere in the US! Snail mail may seem passe, but at the end of the day there are certain things that still have to be sent the old fashioned away (at least till they master those 3D printers anyway). When I needed to ship books that I sold online, I looked into UPS and Fed EX but they cost more than twice as much as USPS. Also, when I go to the post office they have all the shipping items you could ever need right there so that you don't have to package your shipment ahead of time! People usually complain about the wait at the post office, but at this particular post office the wait for the receptionists was minimal, and there was non wait for their automated machine. I needed to overnight a package, so I got one of their flat rate shipping packages, I filled out the appropriate form and then used the automated machine which printed out my stamp! I was able to overnight a package for $19.99 something that is unheard of through UPS or Fed Ex. Given what's been going on with the postal service, and how much less expensive it is to use the postal service I say to all of my fellow Yelpers: Support your local post office! I had to mail 2 letters. I noticed one had not sealed and the stick was gone and needed a very small piece of tape. I asked the guy with the long dreadlocks for a small piece of tape. He told me I would have to buy tape, which was totally unnecessary and displayed poor customer service and had overtones of 'racial revenge'. He constantly has an attitude and should not be interacting with customers. Not sure why the Postal Service does not due a better job of screening it employees, especially ones assigned to interact with the public. Interior of post office is nice with a large parking lot outside and a drop box that you can simply drive up to. However, I don't deserve to be yelled at by the worker for bringing my mail here---nobody deserves that kind of poor customer service. Terrible Post Office, The employees does not empty the outside mail boxes timely. The boxes are over filled with mail, you have to actually push the mail down to keep it from falling out of the mail box. Also, this causes customers mail to be delivered late. read more
