Too bad for me the jurisdiction was in a different county. Believe me dealing with the polar opposite and TRYING to find the wheels of justice, let alone get them to spin. It's too bad TimY you were hassled for something so small. Mine was BIG & they were great. Maybe the ages of the officers made a difference, maybe not but If someone you love is hurt in Winfield, you'll find a department whose priority is safety and justice, not how to make their jobs easier, more secure or less intrusive on quiet time at the office.

What a bunch of buffoons…read more 3 of them came at me with their guns drawn as I am doing home improvements on my house at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. My next-door neighbor, who is 108 years old, blind as a bat and lost his marbles years ago, called 911 to say there was "a stranger" in my backyard. I was the stranger. I lived there for 8 years. The morons drew on me not recognizing that the 108 year old blind man couldn't see 2 feet in front of his face let alone across into my backyard. One of them yelled "get down" Another one yelled "don't move" The third yelled "get your hands up" Moe, Larry and Curly. They thought I was breaking into my own house because the blind man told them so. Great investigative work. Anyway, I left Winfield when I realized I am being protected by clowns. I moved to a state where exercising my second amendment rights are allowed....now I can protect myself.

Carol Stream Police Department - I had no idea the police are excluded from the "no parking" ordinance while having lunch! And yes, he was eating, not working.

However, I did, unfortunately, need to turn to them at the beginning of the year for a more serious matter. To protect and respect the privacy of all those involved in the matter I won't get into details of the situation. This review is based upon my direct dealings with the officers and staff only. I found the officers and staff to be very responsive to my needs and showed their caring and compassion for my well-being while maintaining the utmost professionalism. I am truly thankful for all the help they gave me when I needed it most.

Rather than acting rational, this "officer" sped up behind me, tailgates me, and then cut me off and sped up to nearly twice the speed limit without emergency lights on. Had myself or any non-leo done this we would have been arrested for reckless driving. All they do is sit on north avenue and lies in their speed traps. God forbid anyone go 10 mph over in on a three lane highway or industrial back road, yet they use this intimidation? Disgusting thugs! We will be moving out of this township soon and you will not be getting any more of our tax money. You ignore school zones and residences to capitalize on your shady tactics. This department needs to be audited and defunded!

They responded quickly to a suspicious vehicle with tinted windows that had been parked for a while, but............. when someone was attempting to break into our home, lots of questions as I am watching the car with the 2 men in it drive away. As I am describing the vehicle hoping the police will stop them before they exit the subdivision, I am being asked to describe the individuals, DID they get into the house, etc. As I am stating that they are now exiting the subdivision, the dispatcher says they will send someone out. Why bother? They are long gone. Did the police stop at my home to see about any damage? NO Was there any follow up to the incident? NO AND, they came back and attempted to get into another house in our subdivision, but had a bogus story when the homeowner answered the door. The home owner recognized the vehicle because I had sent out an e-mail to warn everyone. Congratulations to the Naperville Police Department, they caught the guys.

Maybe not there problem! 2) Cop finally shows up ask him to search home no can't do it with out partner, wait some more (criminal now long gone) Second cop shows up all tattooed up if he didn't get out of a cop car I would have guessed he was the crook coming back for more. And by the way the second cop could have care less!!!! 3) finally the CSI cop women shows up (she has more tattoo then the second guy) said she was going to take prints. I am pretty sure never happened. Never took my prints or any member of my family to eliminate 4) they were never really sure were they got in and were all leaving. When I was walking around my house to lock up I look at my back door and they ripped it out of the frame. Had to chase the cop back down to come look at it. They hardly cared. God forbid you park your car on the street at night though. There will be a ticket waiting for you. They don't serve and protect they are just revenue generators! Oh by the way it's been more then 10 days never even got a follow up call. Nice job Woodridge Police.

I called 911 & Schaumburg Police Dept sent out a squad to help by sitting behind me and keeping a car from hitting me while we waited for a tow truck. They waited behind me until the tow truck had my car loaded on the flat bed truck and we were on our way. For all the shit you hear about the police most of them are there to serve & protect and do a great job. There are always going to be a few bad apples but probably 98% do there job. Thanks again to the 2 officers who came out you are appreciated.

When they showed up I was obviously distraught. And instead of asking me questions or listening to my side they took my bf outside and let him lie to them regarding the whole situation. When I told them all the other times he'd laid his hands on me they said "well why didn't you call us then?" And pretty much blamed me. They kicked me out of the house and he didn't get in trouble at all for dragging me all over the house and putting his hands on me. I had no family or anywhere to go in Illinois, I spent the night in my car and was given a pamphlet on Domestic Violence. My brother's a police officer and he was appalled with how Schaumburg Police dealt with this situation. Yall should be ashamed !

I would generally like to think of myself as a law abiding citizen; however, I am known for having…read morea bit of a lead foot. :) That said, I have had two run-ins with the Glen Ellyn Police Department. One has been positive, while the other was frankly obnoxious. -- Negative (Obnoxious) Experience -- A few months ago I was attending an all-day Professional Development Workshop at the District 87 Office (directly next door to Glenbard West). I had parked on Crescent in front of Glenbard West for the duration of the workshop (7:30-2:30), and was surprised to come back at 2:30 to find THREE parking citations on my windshield, totalling $75. Three. 3. Three?! Seriously?! A bit overzealous, dontchathink?! (Note that I had signed in with my vehicle information with the District and notified them that I was parked in front of West. I was also told that the Glen Ellyn Police Department was informed of our workshop, so I did not anticipate any parking issues.) Two of the citations noted I had Glenbard Staff stickers on my vehicle (and even referenced the parking # assigned to me..) so clearly the officer was aware I was a District employee. Flabbergasted, I contacted the District 87 Office, who resolved my tickets. Meanwhile, my stunned coworkers and boss shared that there is a GE police officer who is notorious for issuing frivolous parking citations. News to me, but apparently he's infamous! (..erm? Not sure why his superiors haven't stepped in..) What a jerk. This was obviously a 1-star experience. -- Positive Experience -- Fast-forward to two weeks ago. I was on my way to work and was pulled over for going a bit over the posted limit on St. Charles. (Sh!!ttt!) Officer #37 (? I think) pulled me over and was actually very pleasant from the get-go, asking me if I had any previous citations and telling me if I didn't, he'd let me go with a warning. Of course I was truthful, and he kept his word, issuing me a written warning. The whole thing took about 8-10 minutes. It's not that I'm thankful I was "let off"; it's the simple fact that I was treated kindly and respectfully. To be honest, I have NEVER had a positive interaction with a police officer until this point - not once in 18 years of driving! (My largest "crimes" have been enjoying slightly modded cars [read: legal tints and a fart can at worst]. And, like I said, slight speeding.) So, thank you Officer #37. I appreciate that you treated me as a human being and NOT a ticket quota (nor an example), which you easily could have.

The woman sitting at the desk asked for my child's name which, my child is a minor, why are you trying to collect identifiable information for a child?
