Once I got in there the line was long but 2 ladies handled everyone quickly. The only problem was when I was asking about my package the woman was like did they ship your package here I'm like yea. She's like so they shipped your package with this address. I said no to my address but they called me & said it was here. She repeated the fedex address. Asking if I was sure it was there. Who & when did someone call me. A lot of questions to make me think that my package was not there. Then she said well I guess I'll go & look for it. Just was very rude. Meanwhile I was on my phone trying to get the tracking information because I am thinking it is not there since she was asking me am these questions. She's like I need an ID. Still hasn't told me about my package & I'm like here's the email with tracking number and yes it is here she goes I know there's your package. Well why didn't you say I found it after making me think it wasn't there because I had to ask 20 questions if my package was really there after you doubted me like I was stupid or something? The guy was smooth and attentive to keep everything moving effortlessly. He disassembled a lamp to see if it would fit into a certain box he had in mind. He weighed the lamp and told me he would take care of the rest. He sent me on my way. I paid for Tuesday delivery and the lamp arrived in Portland by Friday, very early, which means he finished the packing and it went out the same day. Get customer service! Husband and wife team Greg and Michele were extremely friendly and helpful. They run a great small business. The store is welcoming and charming and there is a resident rescue dog named Sookie. They also have a nice array of gift items and cards. It's really nice to be able to buy a small gift or card in a shipping store. They have pretty much every size of box you can imagine. They estimate what is going to cost before shipping it out in the pack it for you. Small businesses like The Boxes are struggling the hardest right now. They deserve your business. I'd much rather see my hard-earned money go to the owners of a small, indie store then some big box retailer.

Go online first and get all the details and forms you need, then go to a Walgreens or something and get a passport photo, and THEN come here. I don't remember what the fee was, but I also chose to have the application expedited so it was far more than normal. They accept credit or debit cards, but if you want to pay with cash you have to go get in line, if there is one, and purchase a money order (I decided to just pay with a card). I had no idea what applying for a visa would be like, but it was a lot easier than I would have thought; I was the only one there so I was in and out in fifteen minutes. Overall I prefer this post office to my usual one, but a post office is a post office in a lot of ways, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend that people go out of there way to come here, but if you're going to be near and you have mailing needs then try your luck here and maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised. Even when I'm unsure about my plan of attack for a project, they are diligent in giving me the best options. It's quick and easy to pop in here with a USB drive and print out whatever I need on my own. This is ideal for large print jobs so I don't have to waste the ink in my printer at home! Just recently I needed custom labels printed and I was able to bring in my own sheet sticker paper. The associate at FedEx printed the job for me behind the counter, and for a few extra dollars they even cut all 120 labels out for me! Such a time saver. Along with printers and computers you can find plenty of office supplies here for sale as well. Of course it's a convenient spot for shipping and they will take your passport photos too. Sometimes I have to wait a while to be helped initially, but that's only when they are working on multiple projects at once. For the most part though, it's speedy and helpful service. Even if I have to wait a few minutes, Starbucks is conveniently located a few doors down!
