My husband and I decided to stop by this location to pursue the clearance items & see if there were any good sales (no particular item) during our trip to the Lowe's next door. We didn't find anything while looking so we went to leave (you have to exit through the line and past the register), my husband happened to look back & saw a Staples employee pointing her iPad at us, she quickly went to put it down & my husband saw the camera app open on her iPad. Clearly she thought we were stealing but soon realized we weren't as the sensors did not go off upon our exit. We have never in our lives stolen anything let alone committed a crime. I almost went back in to have it out with said employee, as we did not consent to have our picture taken. Not that it should matter, however, we were dressed causally (my husband was in a black tee & khakis while I was in an all black athleisure outfit), well groomed & literally just pursuing the store. My husband explained that we were looking at getting a new printer. Akash spent 20 minutes going over all the advantages of laser printers and ink jet printers. I have used the printing center here a lot recently. I have to say they are ALWAYS busy and the staff is always polite and friendly. Even if they are like drowning in paper and tabs and binding covers - it's always a pleasure coming in to greet the team and pick up my stuff. My orders have always been printed accurately so far. Found an office chair I liked in the store. They were not in stock, so clerk said they could order them and have them shipped to my house for free with next-day shipping. It was Saturday, so he said it may be Wednesday instead of Tuesday. Placed order on 4/6/2019. No chairs by Saturday 4/13/2019. I called and Staples said the shipper lost one of the chairs, so they'd re-ship the order. They reshipped, I was told chairs would be here by 4/16 - only one was delivered. I called and Staples reshipped the second chair (error on previous call-taker's part) and I'd receive it by 4/17. No delivery on 4/17. Got an email 4/18 saying the delivery date would be 4/18 - no delivery. Called and they said there were still 3 runs the truck was doing and I'd still get it on 4/18 - no delivery. Got an email on 4/19 saying the chair will be here 4/19 - I'm not holding my breath. If you're going to buy something at Staples, make sure it's in stock. Otherwise don't bother. If had been something I didn't need to try out, like the chairs, I would have been better off going to Walmart or Amazon anyway for price and availability. read more

I will leave the same review I left on Google: An employee called me to tell me they were printing my order of 4 posters. I called over an hour later to confirm they could be picked up and they informed me that someone jumped ahead of me. I explained that, if they had already started my order, it was unfair that someone could have it stopped mid print. After arguing with the manager, Patty, for a while she told me, 'Fortunately, I don't have to care about what you think is fair or isn't, because its corporate policy.' After I, then, called corporate, she refused (even to corporate) to finish my order. She is a nasty shrewish woman who lorded her managers position over me and ignored customer service. Awful customer service I went in to have a poster printer and I called ahead to make sure that they would be able to do it .and when I got there the first thing they told me was that they were "backed up on orders "... and wouldn't have it ready by tomorrow evening.I find that funny because when I walked in they were just standing there doing nothing ...interesting ..plus they were giving every reason NOT to print it out there by saying I had to pay 30 cents a minute to use the computer . I LOVE this location. I just started my own business and needed business cards when a friend recommended I go to staples and get it done. I went online and it was a simple few steps process to upload my design and get them ordered. Shortly after I submitted the order I received a call saying it was ready(which was earlier than it said online). I wasn't even sure I was going to buy one immediately, but the staff at this Staples was so knowledgeable and so incredibly patient with all of my questions that I just went ahead and purchased one of the printers they recommended. Of course, before I walked over to the checkout, I read the online reviews for the model (which were very good) and checked the average price (Staples was competitively priced during the weekly sale PLUS I ended up getting some Staples Rewards to apply to a future purchase). Some people like the smell of gasoline. Or fresh-cut grass. Or a new box of Crayolas. Me? I like the smell of OFFICE SUPPLIES. Staples is organized, and their layout makes sense. I feel like the aisles are just more clearly marked than those at Office Max, which tower over my head. Staples had exactly what I wanted in stock (Staples brand binders, 1", in 6 different colors and a package of sheet protectors). Went to the store 3 hours later and the cashier refused to see if my order was ready because I didn't have an email. Store was dead and 3 separate employees that could have helped and nothing. Ridiculous! Twice in one month my order was not delivered within 24 hours and the most recent order was not delivered in its entirety. The first time, the delivery attempt was at 7pm (office closes at 5pm). They return the following day, again after hours, and leave the items on a HUGE flat cart from the dock. The entire order was left in the vestibule of our lobby where anyone could have walked away with one of more of the boxes. The delivery included 8 heavy boxes which I have to drag into my office via 12-foot cart and then drag the cart back down to the dock in high heels. Brought this to the attention of my account manager, who assured me this was not the type of service they provide. Yet it happened again! I was told that orders placed by 5pm will arrive the next business day. What was not mentioned was that processing time is involved. Thus, the order was not processed until after 5pm. Thus, instead of next day, it was two day. This would have been fine except that the courier they used (Dynamex) to deliver the items only delivered two boxes with the missing items that were needed for our highest ranking executive. Embarrassing! My account manager responded to my call within a reasonable amount of time but, basically, told me to call customer service or reorder. She has been otherwise unresponsive. Also said she would come out and introduce herself as a courtesy, suggested a day but never confirmed or followed up. Not feeling very appreciated. Again, Staples motto is EASY ... well, that's easy to say, but apparently not easy to deliver on the promise. read more

Purchased a HP Pavillon from here and it died within 11 months. Took it back to Staples and "tech guy" tried to turn it on and said "it is dead". It had a 12 month warranty. He said "we sold you a bad product". He also said "I can tell you open the computer so that voids the warranty". ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE. He said I recommend you buy the same laptop from me at full price. I said no, it has a 12 month warranty and why would I buy the same product from you when you said you sold me a crap product. He wouldn't even give any discount on the price. Anyway, I sent to HP and they fixed it under warranty. They did not accuse me of opening the laptop like "tech guy". They fixed it and it worked for another 6 months. Now dead again with no warranty. DO NOT BUY HP! DO NO BUY TECHNOLOGY FROM STAPLES! I'm done with Staples. I won't even buy a cheap pen from them. I tried to support them but I give in and will go to Walmart as it's cheaper and closer. read more

This was my third time at this Staples and I don't think I'll be back. I had a problem with the self-service copier and the store manager came to help me. She was rather cold from the beginning, then told me that when my receipt printed it would show the copies I'd already made so I would know how many I had left to make. Unfortunately, the receipt wasn't itemized (which she should've known) and my reaction to that ("wait, you told me...") started her on a rampage. I've been going to the Office Max outside of the Westfield Mall for years, and though I knew that this store existed, I didn't really think I had any reason to check it out; after all, I have to drive by the Office Max to come to Staples, and who wants to deal with getting on Rt. 59 if they don't have to?? However, twice now, after needing something pretty desperately and not being able to find it at Office Max, I took a chance and made the trip here and found what I needed. As far as prices go, the two seem to be pretty comparable, so you have to look at the weekly sales to find the bargain, and the two are similarly stocked in both paper products and electronics. This location isn't as large as Office Max, so it definitely feels more crammed in there, but--as another reviewer has pointed out--it's well organized and laid out. Although I am well-acquainted with Office Max and know where a lot of different things are, if I don't know where something is, it can sometimes be tricky and frustrating to find things--I find that not to be the case here. I don't know what they did here to make things easier to find (I can't quite put my finger on it), but whatever it is, it works, and when you're on the clock and have a lot to do, it's something that's very appreciated. One thing I have noticed after a few trips to this store is that it's kind of a mess--organized maybe, but a mess nonetheless; perhaps it's because school is starting and they're running sales and are carrying extra stock, but it really doesn't make it any harder to find anything so I guess it's not that big a deal. I would also like to note that the customer service so far seems to be pretty good; people have been friendly and I've been approached a few times with offers of assistance; I haven't needed anything yet so I can't really comment on how good their assistance is, but I do appreciate that it's been offered without prompt. The truth is, I will still probably to my regular ol' Office Max more frequently, but that's only because it's so much more conveniently located; however, I will continue to come here periodically, both to pick up things that Office Max doesn't carry and to compare the products and prices in their electronics department. I signed up for their rewards program, but I'm still not sure how that's going to work out for me--the Office Max version has been useless; however, I'm hoping that by signing up--like Office Max--even if the reward program is useless I'll still receive some pretty nifty offers and coupons in the mail. So far I've been very happy with my experience here, and would recommend it to anyone who needs office supplies, or who's looking from some random or esoteric item they can't find at Walgreens or Meijer. If you've never been here and don't know where it is, look for the Lowes, it's right next to it. read more

This place is kind of tucked away from the rest of the retail locations in the area, but once you find it, you'll be glad you did! Their employees are so kind and because they're hidden, they tend to have lots of things in stock that other Staples are sold out of. Recently, I was looking for a Nook Color that was sold out of everywhere because they were on clearance. This Staples had one left. ONE! Ahh! Their manager held it for me for an hour while I drove my butt out from Downers Grove, their employees answered my 25 phone calls every time I got lost trying to find the store, and they were really helpful in selling me the device in the store. 20-YEAR PRACTICING ATTORNEY MADE TO FEEL LIKE A CRIMINAL!!! I take reviews very seriously and this is the first time I have EVER posted a bad review about anyone. I would rather spend my time posting positive comments. I have been a practicing attorney for almost 20 years and over the years have purchased hundreds of dollars worth of office supplies at Staples. I feel so strongly about how I was treated here, that I feel compelled to say this. I called this store 2 days ago to ask if I could EXCHANGE printer drum units (that I mistakenly thought were toner cartridges) and a box of tri-fold paper towels. I told the clerk that I no longer had the receipt and was looking for store credit, although they were bought more than 30 days ago. I figured a return was not an option but it was no big deal; an exchange wound be fine. The clerk told me that if they could "trace" the items with my credit card then they would honor an exchange. I drove about 10-15 miles out of my way from joliet in inclement weather to facilitate the exchange. Upon arrival a clerk told me she had to call her manager since I had no receipt. Fine; that is understandable. The manager, Sayeed (sp.?) came out and had a rude attitude with me. He led me to believe if they could trace my credit card that they would exchange the items. I proceed to shop and pick up numerous items for my office. When I got back to the clerks counter she called Sayeed again. He came out, got my credit card, wrote down the number, and left then came back. I'm waiting there wondering why it's taking so long. Finally he tells me he cannot do the exchange because it's been more than 30 days. No apology, he was rude and looked annoyed. He said rudely, "you opened up both boxes," acting like I was trying to get away with something. I said "I wish I would have known that before driving all the way here when I called ahead of time and was told I could exchange them." Then he mumbled "Sorry" and gave me a printout of all the items I bought a little more than 30 days prior that he traced from my credit card. He then told me that there was another Staples in a Shorewood. SERIOUSLY???? I HAVE BEEN A VERY WELL PAYING CUSTOMER FOR YEARS, YOU SEE THAT I BOUGHT THOSE UNITS AT THAT STORE, ALL THE PACKAGING IS THERE AND ITEMS UNUSED, AND YOU REFUSE TO GIVE ME STORE CREDIT????!!!! Then, my husband decides to talk to him, very matter of factly, and gets the same response. Hubby asked to speak to the manager. Patty came out and talked to him. Still no luck and she was dismissive as well. So we go to the other store. I was able to exchange the drum units for toners WITH NO PROBLEM. Thanks to Assistant Manager VJ and Jesus. They were extremely nice and professional. My husband called Patty back and she sarcastically told him "I'm glad you got what you wanted." THE MANAGEMENT AT STAPLES AT 1552 SOUTH 59th IN NAPERVILLE/AURORA namely Sayeed and Patty, should know that I will never return to this store and I will advise my Will county and DuPage county attorney and judge colleagues never to do so either. You either need training in customer service or change careers. All you had to do was be nice and truly apologetic. Make us feel like you would help if you could. I spend around $5000 a year in office supplies. That money will now go elsewhere. VJ should train you on how to treat customers. I called ahead to find out what I need in order to return an item I purchased on staples.com They said I just need the order number. Once at the store, they said the "original invoice" is needed. I had brought in the invoice that came in the package, which they called a "copy". What does that even mean? The item was ordered online, so it's printed out, regardless. Also, after the store closes they of course don't answer the phone but what's awful is that you're placed on an indefinite hold as if someone was going to answer...until they hang up on you or you figure out that they're closed. read more

If you are ordering online, and you need it in a hurry, don"t order from here! I ordered an all-in-one printer that said "fast one day shipping". I ordered it from this store, which is 11 miles from my house instead of ordering it from Best Buy, which is only 3 miles from my house, which had it at the same price, but Best Buy said 3-5 business days shipping, because I needed it in a hurry. I ordered it on a Saturday, and I didn't get it until the following Friday. If you subtract Wednesday, New Years as a holiday, that's four business days. Their tracking info was minimal, at best, but what upset me how little effort they put in to looking for it day after day when I called. I kept getting them telling me " you'll get an email when it comes in." I picked it up Friday, never received an email that it came in, just showed up there. I understand that there are delays, but it said " one business day" that turned into 4 that really caused me issues. The lack of effort to help me or empathy of the staff just really turned me off ! Update........ I stopped in there Friday and picked up the printer hoping it came in.......their email notification they send out to notify you that it came in arrived Sunday morning! Unless something is really outstanding or really crappy, I don't usually write reviews. Unfortunately, I had a crappy experience at this particular Staples store in Naperville, IL. On Friday night 3/11/11 at about 7:15pm, I called this store to see if they had a particular laptop in stock (many stores were running out; stock was limited). They took a while to respond to my inquiry, but when they did, they responded that they did in fact have that laptop in stock. I asked the manager on duty that night if he'd hold it for me and that I would be in that night to pick it up. The GPS said I'd be there too close to closing time of 8pm, so I called to tell them that. The manager answered the phone, but my cell phone dropped the call. I called back and spoke to Laura (a nice young lady) letting her know that I was on my way, but that it may be a few minutes after closing that I get there. She said they close at 8pm, but as long as management knew I was coming, that she was sure they'd open the door upon seeing me. Well, they never did. I got there at 8:05pm and knocked on the doors and windows....only to have some rude guy in the copy dept. look at me and say they were closed (I signaled back with the phone sign saying I called). Then another rude older lady (in her late 50's/60's with dark hair at the cash register looked at me with disgust, saying under her breath I'm sure, " too bad, we're closed". I also saw the manager look at me and do nothing. I should have walked away and gone to a different Staples the next day, but I stayed there shivering in the cold waiting for a customer to exit the store. About 5 minutes later, a customer did leave, and I went in there really upset....telling anyone that could hear "that was rude". No apologies, nothing. I still can't believe it happened. And I still can't believe I bought the stupid laptop there that night. Probably because I didn't want to drive another 40 minutes the next day to go to another store. Pretty perturbed am I! read more
