Wow. This Staples location has really gone downhill. I see my 2023 review I gave them 5 stars. No where close to it on my recent visit. The store is low on inventory, messy, and lacks customer service. One employee was putting together an office chair near the checkout so customers had to walk around him. Trash on the floor, empty end caps, weird clearance bins in the back (empty), and the office chairs in the back to test before buying are dirty. There were 2 checkout lights on. I just had the worst experience ever at Staples in Willowbrook. I ordered an item online to pick up in the store. When I got to the checkout person he unplugged his phone from a charger and proceeded to type an extremely long text while I waited. This was also noticed by the customer behind me. Then he went in the back and could not find my item. I was sent to the other cashier, who was a fill in manager. He went in the back and took a very long time to return. I purchased a desk at this location. I did not go into the store and found the curbside pickup usages fantastic. When I arrived, I called the store, and a female employee brought the disk to my car. She was friendly and professional. She placed the desk in my back seat, thanked me for my service, and wished me a safe and good day. The store is located at the corner of a busy strip mall with several stores and businesses. The parking lot is plentiful with destinated curbside parking. They will print for me on my own paper (for laser and jet ink) when I need labels for my products. I haven't had anyone ever tell me no and I hope I never do. This experience spans across multiple locations. Print department is keeping Staples fiscally afloat imo based on where customers or lake thereof are in the store, so as always make sure you're nice to the printing department as they tend to be busy but are always helpful. Minus one star to make sure when I give a 5 it means something Also minus one star because there's no union for the workers. That is to say if you have a large print job please go to a local independent print shop preferably unionized. TIA read more

I go to this staples often, mostly for printing services. Recently I went in to get a few things printed because I don't have a printer at home and a certain employee "Wowed me" he was so patient and awesome. I am pretty much writing this review in hopes that he gets recognized for his service. No, I'm going to make sure I call the store and let them know about DOUG. He is a phenomenal worker and provides amazing customer service. He is a true asset to the company and I hope that Staples recognizes this and him! This is a great staples for printing and purchasing office supply products but don't expect to save money on office supplies because this isn't the place for that. Usually staples is the place for great customer service but they are not affordable. If you're looking for affordable go to Walmart, if you're looking for service, Go to Staples! Well- if there is one benefit to living in the "burbs" it's that new shopping centers are always popping up and the stores that are in them are clean, sparkling new, well stocked and over staffed. Thus is the case at this Staples office supply store. I stopped in to pick up some supplies and was bowled over by the well organized, and well laid out store (super clean but it's brand new!) as well as the amount of friendly people working there who ended up actually escorting me to the aisle I was looking for. You just don't get that level of service every day! Granted my $10 purchase isn't going to keep them in business, but they treated me as if I was purchasing my entire office staff's supplies. As with all Staples locations, you can find everything from office furniture, to briefcases, to supplies, supplies and more supplies. This location has a huge parking lot and is easily accessible by car but be careful- they share a lot with Portillo's and it can get pretty congested around lunch time. Rarely do I sing the praises of an office supply store as they usually underwhelm me with their lack of service and knowledge of the products that they sell. But for now- this Staples appears to be different. And for that, I thank them. read more

Most of the time, I'll find what I need here. There were a few times when they didn't have an item in stock or just didn't carry the item at all. If you need assistance, you can ask one of the store clerks without much trouble. They're pretty friendly and helpful. Checkout is usually a breeze because I rarely see long lines formed here. What I love most about this store is the clerk/cashier, Nancy. She's incredibly helpful and efficient and knows what she's doing when it comes to coupons. This is a huge plus because I almost always use one here. She also has a great memory because she recognizes me even though I don't frequent this location that much. I found an office chair I really wanted- I went to this location to purchase the chair and it was 70 bucks higher in store- of course the same chair wasn't available online. The manager told me they could not match THEIR OWN website- due to Black friday- well the chair wasn't part of the sale.. and what store will not honor their own pricing? I have never heard of that. If you're simply looking for office products, I'd certainly recommend a visit here. Naturally, they have enough paper, pens and paperclips to choke a horse. Great if you're replenishing your stock at home or because you lost at Arlington. But if you need assistance from the copy center, it's a whole other story. I stopped in the other day with (what I thought was) a simple request...to increase a sketch 200% and copy it on a transparency. I could have done it with my eyes closed if I were at home, but I was already at work and needed it to finish my day. Anyway, as I make my way to the counter, I saw one person behind the counter and no one in line waiting. Great, right? Wrong. Long story short, this girl simply could not figure it out. Now it's true she may have been new here, in which case I'd certainly cut her slack, but not the store. You shouldn't leave someone alone who doesn't know what they're doing. But the clincher to my two star review came when another employee joined her behind the counter, but just stood there, not helping out at all. I went to staples to print ceremony programs for my wedding. The employee I primarily worked with (I believe her name was Robin) was so incredibly rude and unprofessional. She printed proofs and cut them so terribly, but said she would fix it. I picked them up and the cut was fine, but the ink was faded and hard to read. I told her that i can't read them and all she said was "that's not our problem". Two managers came over and told me they would fix it without charge. I went back in when they were ready. The lady saw me walk in, grabbed the box, put it on the counter and walked away. I looked them over, said thank you and walked away. As my back was to her she said "and that's it?!" I turned back around and said "I said thank you" and walked out. The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because of the management. I purchased a battery backup online. When I went to pick it up, they had it ready and waiting as promised. Upon opening up the box, I realized that I ordered the wrong one. So I went in the next morning to return the wrong one and purchase the right one. The associate at the desk was delightful. She handled the return quickly and easily, then set me up with the tech guy / manager who was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. They took a headache situation and made it easy. The Willowbrook, IL store is a HORRIBLE store. I tried for an hour to get anyone to pick up a phone on 7/17/2017. All prompts (2 through 4) except a recording of stores hours and directions just rang and rang. It then gave me a recording that the store was "unable to accepts calls at this time." Overcharged me for a charging cord- $6.99 clearly advertised in front of the item. I didn't realized it until I had already completed the purchase. Manager came and said he had never heard of this- but agreed i was correct (after double checking) and-must have been new special price. He tried to return but I needed them all on one receipt. He got frustrated- (as did I with all the extra time). He rang the cord again- came up at $10- but he said he overrode the transaction to correct. I ordered some holiday cards online and came to pick them up at this Staples. While the quality of the card was good, the coloring of the pictures on the card looked different in person than it had online. Unhappy with the card, I talked to Doug who did his best to fix the problem. When he wasn't able to do so, he was super patient while I worked on fixing the card and even printed out samples for me. Once I had a card that looked right, Doug printed out a new set of cards for me at no cost. He was very nice, patient and helpful throughout the process. I can't recommend him enough and would definitely come back to this store. read more

The checkout service at this Staples was extremely slow. I waited around 20 minutes to checkout today, and the line curved almost out the door. There were four cashiers but each one seemed to be taking an incredibly long time. Now, I realize many customers were buying massive amounts of school supplies. However, I think they really need more cashiers or faster cashiers. The wait was unbelievably long. The store itself was very organized. Came here to get a book bound. Usually whenever I needed to get a book bound I would go to Office Depot/Office Max, and I was always told to drop off the book with my name and contact information, and they would call me in roughly an hour when it was done. Usually I would get a call ~1.5-2 hours later. When I dropped off the book yesterday, I was never asked for my contact information. But I should clarify why. The very nice employee by the name of Doug didn't ask for my contact information, because he took the book to get bound right away. Within 7 minutes of giving him my book I was paying for the book binding service (under $6) and was well out the door! It's not that the store wasn't busy; trust me it was. It's just that Doug worked quickly and efficiently to handle the influx of people. Only issue is that since it is "back to school week" the school supply area seemed bare and a bit in shambles. But I'm way past my grade school days, so that doesn't really impact me. Apart from that, excellent service, will come back again! TL;DR: REALLY quick service. Got a book bound and instead of waiting ~2 hours at competitors, I was out in 7 minutes. Great, quick, efficient service. Can't beat the prices. read more

If you need to buy business cards, this is the store to go to. The prices are very reasonable; you can get your cards the same day, without paying an up-charge; and the staff is stellar. They helped me on the phone with my card set-up in MS Publisher and converting to a PDF, and they were even more helpful in person. THIS is the place to go. I dealt with 2 people and one was even better than the other in helpfulness, knowledge and efficiency. Although I have never been a Staples customer, they have certainly earned my loyalty today. I took my desktop computer in for there free check up. Told them it was slow and I could not download the current version of Flash. The result, I can still not download flash. They told me I needed to buy more memory to speed up the computer. The computer was fast enough when I bouight it so something is wrong. Went here to mail a package UPS (there is a UPS inside this store, run by Staples employees which makes no sense whatsoever seeing that these staples employees are clearly not capable of even knowing what they are doing). Four days later, i get notice that my package was returned to Staples. What?? Why not return to my address which was on the package. I found out Staples puts ITS OWN ADDRESS as return. I did not sign up for that and they had absolutely NO AUTHORITY to do this. They didnt pay, I did!! So I get there to find my package not in the box I had packed and one item missing. They tried to tell me it ws UPS, not them but they cant prove that. I asked for my $18 refunded. They refused saying its UPS that must refund my money. I said my receipt says Staples, not UPS. Still refused. Staples employees should not be running another business if they cannot resolve customer complaints. I will be sure to write to headquarters also. read more
