This was my first experience having to use a storage unit so naturally, I was skeptical. I've heard stories about storage facilities having rodent and pest issues so I was scared lol US Storage Centers on Foster in Norwalk was amazing! Very easy to sign up, pay and extremely clean. I had no issues when signing up and no issues when moving out. All of my items were in the exact same condition as they entered which made me happy. Let me start off by saying I never right bad reviews but in this case I stored my 32' ft toy box fifth when here in the parking units in the rear of the facility and experienced a robbery/ breaking and entering in my trailer, not once but TWICE!!!! The first time they did damage to my windows (2) Messed up the seal to my door, tried to rip out my breakers from my panel, stole my stereo system and TV rummaging through all my Cabnets and steeling my counter top appliances. The SECOND! Time they stole all my utensils cups toiletries and broke my other window jam. I talked to the "manager" about the facility having any liability whatsoever for this since this apparently has been an ongoing problem from what the Norwalk Sheriff told me was he has had multiple break ins here at the same facility and TOLD! The manager repeatedly that they need a security guard patrolling in the Facility but ignored any extra precautions that were suggested by local law enforcement. HELLO! 3 break in with 30 days! Come on Management do something! Better yet I will be going to corporate with my concerns. read more

I'm amazed at all the great reviews about the friendly helpful staff and wonderful location.... I have to wonder how new you might be to US Storage. IF you are planning on using them long term, LOOK OUT! They will reward your customer loyalty and pay on time, with a 10% rate increase hit EVERY year or more often. This is a VERY FOOLISH BUSINESS PRACTICE approach when you have someone who's paying your bills! So unfortunately, we've learned the hard way. Something for you all to consider if planning to stay any longer than a year. With plenty of storage units around town to choose from, there is no doubt that this one is a great choice. It is clean, convenient and secure. It's a one level unit with plenty of spaces but not so large that you get lost in it. They even offer RV parking. Working with Alexandria was a pleasure. I have rented storage space from a handful of companies over the years. Most places are all about the same . . . modest to modern offices, and rental spaces that consist of a metal door and ceiling, and three walls of drywall, decorated with plywood patches covering damaged drywall. They all charge close to the same rates for about the same services. So I was skeptical when my realtor highly recommended US Storage on Foster Road in Norwalk, just because she had nothing but the highest praise for this location, where she stores her own personal stuff. If it weren't for the fact that she is also a dear friend, I would have suspected she was recommending it for a kickback. The rent for the Public Storage room I had was going up 20% after only three months, despite the fact they had NOT indicated what I'd been paying was an introductory rate. So I knew I had to get out of there fast, and researched my friend's recommendation of US Storage online, and arranged to go in to rent a unit. I expected to see what I've always seen at storage places, so I was absolutely floored when I got there, and saw that it was everything my friend had said . . . First impression was amazing! This place is huge, with the buildings facing the street decorated to look like pleasant housing or office parks so it doesn't look like an unsightly industrial block to mar the look of the neighborhood. Their office is modern and pleasant, and I was immediately greeted by the managers, Yvette and Filbert, who were very friendly, efficient, accommodating and informative. They did everything they could to make the transition easier, including the FREE use of their moving truck for the day! Filbert took me out to the unit in a golf cart, and I could see their location is huge! Over 1,000 units! The area was neat and clean, and solar panels provide their electricity needs. Everything about the place told me it was well~planned and executed, corporate~run, not a franchise, and everything run to corporate standards! THE BEST PART was seeing the unit itself! No pockmarked drywall with plywood decor! Wall to wall, floor to ceiling was clean corrugated metal walls, to keep the contents safe from being pilfered through through units! I loved that the units have ALARMS with a clever means of activation, and the doors have a locking system like nothing I've seen before, absolutely unbreakable. The unit looked brand new and well~sealed against pests. All of this, and their prices are absolutely competitive with other companies! Now I understand my friend's excitement! Just like I was floored by my friend's recommendation, which seemed just impossible or at the very least, very exaggerated, now YOU're reading MY review and probably thinking the same thing. I assure you, prior to my friend's recommendation, I'd had NO knowledge of or affiliation with US Storage ~ Foster, and there is no monetary benefit for writing this review. I just wish I'd found them years ago, if there is anything I can do to send customers their way, AND also help YOU by recommending a great storage facility, I'm happy to do it! How anyone can say this is a nice and clean place is beyond me. I had to get rid of a sofa because my unit was roach infested. I had to bomb the uhaul truck before unloading anything. I e never had this experience with any place. I brought it up to yvette on e and said they would have pest control out but once i went in to pick up my stuff there were roaches everywhere. Kevin i believe is his name, he helped me out by showing me the unit so i can get an idea of the space. Which was perfect, we got the paperwork ready and setup, and hooked me up with an awesome discount. They have a rental truck you can use (within 25 miles).
