Great storage facility! The area is nice, clean, and secure. On top of that, it was only a short drive away from home. All you can ask of when it comes to self-storage. Unfortunately, the rent price continually increased yearly (over $100 increase in two years), which made it difficult to keep. When leaving, the manager Maritza was super helpful with all questions and concerns I had with vacating the unit. She helped provide me with a push cart and spent time to ensure that everything was squared away so I wouldn't get charged any additional costs. Thanks A-1 I'll miss you! read more

So what size do you think I need?" I would give this a 5 star but i had my unit for many years and they kept upping the monthly charges yearly. I was not happy about that even tho Brian knocked off a few dollars,however that is life. Great facility staff there in Cypress, they keep it clean and they are super friendly. I have had the unit since 2014. their rates go up every year & for the amount of items that i stored, it was just not affordable any longer. I could had downsized but with the rates changing every year, I decided this was not affordable any longer with the changes in my household. The Manager Steve is awesome. if i ever need short term storage I will go back. I wish them luck, thank you for the 3 years of storage. read more

I have conflicted feelings about this place. PROS: clean easily accessible convenient hours friendly office staff CONS: non-office staff do not speak English, not even Spanglish weird billing policy I cleared out our storage and went in the office to cancel our unit. it was the 5th of the month, so the lady told me i had to pay $5.66 (or some other random amount) for the prorated days. no problem. then i get a bill in the mail about two weeks later, saying that my payment of $5.66 did not cover the charges so now i owe eighty-something dollars. i called to inquire, and the guy on the phone tells me it's just a computer glitch and to disregard it. he said that when it was closed out, the letter automatically generates. the date on the letter was about eight days after i had closed out the unit; so that didn't make sense. he seemed puzzled when i told him the date of the letter and responded with.... "well, you can disregard it anyway." i told him, "look, i didn't just decide to pay $5.66 because i thought it was a good number. the lady told me that's what i had to do to close my account." why do i feel like this will bite me in the future? read more

We were relocating to the area, and we drove a car one-way on our househunting trip and needed to store it somewhere for 6 weeks prior to our permanent arrival. We looked at all kinds of options, including airport long-term parking, etc. A1 had storage for our vehicle and it was so much cheaper than those options. Dropped off the car with minimum hassle, and when we returned, it was exactly where we parked it, with a thick coating of dust (what is it about Southern California making cars dirty, anyway?). It has been only a couple weeks since I started renting a storage space from this Cypress A-1 Storage Facility, but I already see some advantages of renting a storage space at this location. First of all, this facility overall seems to be very secure equipped with 24-hour surveillance cameras all around the facility corner to corner without a blind spot. The whole facility is always clean whenever I visit my storage space just like the other reviewers mentioned. Steve is the manager at this Cypress Location A-1 Storage Facility who helped me with sign up to rent a storage space and he is helpful and friendly. He is always willing to answer your questions and tries to resolve any concerns that you have. It looks like Steve works at this facility every day except on Sundays and he seems to be very professional at his job. One time I was organizing some stuff in my storage, Steve walked by to check on my storage space if any unauthorized person broke into my storage. I asked him why and he explained to me that once I lock my storage unit leave it locked for some time, I have to punch in my code again at the front gate to disarm the storage door alarm; otherwise, the alarm system goes active. After he told me everything I've realized that I've locked up my unit and spent some time in my car then went up to my unit again to organize stuff. However, after what he had told me, everything looked more secure and I was able to know that Steve is a reliable manager who well manages every little things around the facility here at Cypress location and he takes things very seriously when it comes to storage security. I would recommend this A-1 Storage facility to anyone who is looking for a secure storage unit that would keep your belongings safe and clean.
