I was a customer at this facility for well over a decade, until about 3 years ago. Watched the rates go up exorbitantly & steadily, the service slowly decline year by year, and the front desk employees become surly and apathetic. Example: one time I watched 2 employees posing out on the lawn, taking 'glamour pics' for a couple minutes, while another customer and I were waiting at the front desk for service... Then my unit was broken into - the perpetrators were able to push the roll-up door off its' track and force it up a couple feet, then grab everything within reach. So this business can talk all they want about security and on-site cameras, but MANY parts of the facility do not have camera coverage, and if something does happen they will be very uncooperative when it comes to allowing police to access footage when you file a police report. I had to plead with them for multiple days before they would finally allow police to view the tape before it 'timed out.' Beware these guys... Been with the Extra Space Storage on Carson Blvd in Hawaiian Gardens, about 2 miles away, for 3 years now, and they are flawless... read more

At all costs do not rent at the storage facility and I say this with honesty. First of all the rent goes up about every other month and it will continue to go up. There is no ceiling as to what they can charge you monthly.. I had an incident in which I vacated a storage unit unfortunately, I left some items back because I thought I could leave some items out and maybe someone would want to take it and there was also a small little table that had broke, and it was left in the unit. I advised the manager that I vacated. She was very upset with me and said I left the place dirty, which is an inaccurate description of what help was left. She advised me there would be $100 fee if someone had to clean it being a little bit away from that unit, I told her go ahead have it cleaned and I will pay the $100 there was no differentiation between the little table and the unit and the items I left outside of the unit so of course I thought 100 for everything. I was then told later on that she needed it out because they kept charging me. I was told to go to the storage before 2 o'clock on a Sunday. I went there 1:55. I took a picture of the clock and the woman who worked the front desk was gone. I went to the storage unit that was supposedly mine since I had a little table in there and it was locked. Therefore, I could not remove anything. I called them up that evening and advised I went there his promised to clean up the items and it was closed. There was no one there who could work with me. The manager started screaming at me yelling at me I am 72 years old. I do not need that. I asked her to calm down and I advised her it was not her personal money, but she kept screaming telling me as long as I had things in there they were going to charge me I let her know. I went there to remove the things as promised it is not my fault their employee leave leaves early. She let me know that that was still my unit and they were still gonna bill me monthly. she was so hysterical. I was in shock what a bad portrayal of an employee end of the company. I had to contact my bank, which gave me my money back after I explained it in the scenario and my age I do not need this. I look at this as a form of harassment on a senior citizen and it is not a very good portrayal of this business. Stay away they do not care about anything but money they're charging me 15 a month for protection when I provided them my homeowners insurance and declined the insurance. This is a bad organization. I'm also gonna file a complaint with that regulatory agency that deals with storage units look elsewhere. Extra storage is very good not too far from the storage stay away save your money. You will regret if you rent from here and I promise you that now they're probably gonna put a little response after I post this do not buy it. Do not believe it. It's probably automated and it's probably what they say just a safe face when I rented that at the other US storage years ago in Long Beach they almost beg me to post a positive review so they're very needy for reviews. Just hear what I'm saying stay away all cost save your money from this place and go rent an extra storage or another storage. I know this is really long, but I really want to help other people before they get into the dilemma that I gotten into. read more

I started renting out a locker in March and since then I've received excellent service from the staff at not only this location but at Norwalk as well. Daisy and a young man, whose name I can't remember right now, was very cordial and helpful in regards to pricing, sizes of units and promotions. I like this location because the units seem to be protected from extreme heat. This is important to me because I have collectibles in storage. So far, they are in good shape. The only negative thing about this location are the elevators. There are only two and it can be a hassle moving things up and down especially when it's busy. Reserved a unit online and it couldn't have been easier. We are renting a unit at the Cerritos location, but we got the truck from the Norwalk location, so we had a chance to check both out. After speaking and checking out a few storage units we finally decided on US Storage Center in Cerritos, this location is close to my new home. I found Daisy very helpful and felt very comfortable with her, she is very kind and even though I asked a lot of questions, not once did she get upset, on the contrary, tried to explain everything in detail to me, making sure all my concerns were at ease, I very much appreciate her. I will be following up on my review in a few weeks of how I am treated when I start moving my things in. So, I have been using this storage center for years, with no problems. But now things have changed, my unit was broken into last year and I moved to another unit and just last week I was broken into again. I feel so violated!! All my items were strewed across the hallway and dug through. My most precious memories, disregarded by losers who want to make a quick buck and sell stolen goods. I bought the lock that they advised me to get and the latch was cut, what a waste of a lock. Plus, there are no cameras in the hallways, just the font dock and elevators. As a woman, how scary is it to know that there are thieves about and no cameras to catch them, what if I walked in when they were there? I'm scared now to be there alone, even during business hours, the front desk people cant see what's going on around them. Items with sentimental value were taken, yes, I could have kept them with me, but I thought they would be safe till I found room for them with m. These items can not be replaced and are considered priceless to my husband and I. I would like for this company to consider changing their policy of entering after hours or putting cameras in all the hallways. I finally left the unit and went somewhere else. Daisy was very sympathetic and caring to my situation. She was disturbed by what she walked into when she showed up to work in the morning. So as to finish off my rant, please keep your precious valuables close to you if you can and hope that your not next.
