Perhaps the worst USPS I have been to. Now, one thing I have to say is that I've seen customers at this location be obnoxiously rude. I'm super polite and just trying to make the staff's day a little more tolerable. However, I've been given the run-around by them too many times...
This is one example; the short version is :
Me: Hi, Oak Grove Road post office says you might have my package.
Cec.: You need to go back to Oak Grove Road [my deliver ticket indicates Oak Grove for pickup. Here I can't convey here unhelpful, almost accosting tone...]
Me: Actually, I just came from there and they checked out back and don't have it. They gave me the number of the delivery supervisor here, but the line is not being answered so far.
Cec.: You need to go back to Oak Grove road and have them check
Me: They assure me they checked out back and definitely don't have it. Could you just check for me here please?
Cec.: No. You need to go to Oak Grove.
Me: Could you ask the delivery supervisor to have a quick check?
Cec.: No. They are in a meeting
Me: ok, when to they get out?
Cec.: I don't know. Go to Oak Grove Road.
Me: Could you please just have a quick look out back?
Cec.: No. It's at Oak Grove.
So I called USPS on the general number and it turns out that my package was at the post office when i visited. However, by the time I went back in the late afternoon, another lady was very helpful, took some time to check, and told me it had just been sent to Oak Grove road minutes ago. And she called Oak Grove road to confirm they now have it. I thanked her for her kindness in checking, although they were really busy. I also noticed that Alice was dutifully helping customers rapidly and with a helpful attitude. And, Cec. was on the next window over, being unhelpful with a nasty attitude to a lady customer.
Perhaps I shouldn't single out someone in my review, but I wasted 1.5hrs going between post offices, and 30 minutes on the phone, just because she didn't want to spend 1 minutes and check out back for a box. But, perhaps it's not her fault... this location is really busy and perhaps it's not a fun place to work at all. I wouldn't have written this account of events, if it wasn't for her scathing tone from the get go.
Parking can be a bit tight during busy hours. If you are in Walnut Creek, go to the Oak Grove location if possible where the staff have a helpful and professional attitude. read more
