Less than stellar first impression. Had I known from the first impression I would have went out of my way to find a REAL ups store instead. The amazon package I was returning was nit taped and the return label was also not attached. The comment I got was, next time be sure the labei is attached and the box is properly taped. We normally charge to have that done. Really!!! I just replied, this must be a california thing because ups stores do this as well courtesy and in Nevada I've never encountered this situation. I took items to be shipped via a FedEx corporate account and they told me they don't have access to the account so I have to pay out of pocket. Why do you even offer to be a FedEx authorized service center if you can't even bother honoring the agreement with the company you are supposed to represent? My belief is they just didn't want the business so my suggestion is if you are looking for customer service, this is not the establishment you should visit - go elsewhere! Person at the counter refused to give me a receipt for my prepaid shipping package. He said they dont do that. Postal Annex+ is required to do this as we are entitled to a scan to receipt. He refused several times. I always get one at other postal annex+ locations. This is a first. I'm never coming back here again. How do I know it will even get shipped out he won't scan as proof of receiving it etc? read more

Sometimes I sell things online, usually I go to the legit UPS store, but since I live closer to this annex and in the interest of time I sometimes drop my pre-paid packages here. This is a busy shopping center so yes there is usually a line, most of the time I wait, but on this past occasion the owner saw that the customers he was attending to was going to take a while so he stated that if all I needed was to drop off he would take care of it. I'd been here before so I figured this was ok (leaving the package without a receipt), but I was wrong! I was informed by the selling app that my package weighed more than what I had stated and when I looked at what the annex stated my package weighed I was shocked! I mailed 3 decorative pillows in a box and somehow they weighed 27lbs! I was charged $88 for the price adjustment. That is ridiculous, there is no way this box with 3 pillows weighed that much. Two takeaways for me which I hope you learn from. I will never give this place my business again AND always get a receipt, no matter what the wait. read more

I visited this UPS Authorized Shipping Outlet today to make a return by mail, and the experience was honestly upsetting. The man who said his name was Ramesh and claimed to be the owner was incredibly rude and dismissive from the moment I walked in. What made it even more frustrating was that I came in with a positive attitude--just trying to be polite and keep things simple. I wasn't being difficult or giving any attitude. I was smiling, trying to be friendly, and it was clear right away that he just wasn't a kind or welcoming person--and again, this is someone who says he's the owner. There was one other customer in the store being helped by a different employee, so it wasn't busy--but Ramesh acted like I was an inconvenience from the start. I had a QR code on my phone, and without saying a word, he snatched the phone out of my hand. That alone was jarring, but I stayed calm. After processing the return, he told me it would be $1. I asked politely if they take Apple Pay, and he snapped back in a harsh, judgmental tone: "You don't have cash?" Then repeated mockingly, "You don't have your wallet?" I told him no, I only had Apple Pay today, and he finally said they did accept it. I asked him, "Are you okay?" because his attitude was unnecessary and aggressive. I even told him, "You're being really rude," and instead of acknowledging it or apologizing, he started arguing with me, insisting he wasn't. I asked if I could work with someone else, and he flat-out said no. At that point, the other employee had just finished helping the other customer. He definitely witnessed what happened--but instead of stepping in or offering to help, he just quietly walked to the back. I get it, though--it honestly felt like he just didn't want to get involved in the owner's issues, and I can't blame him for that. When I asked to speak to a manager, Ramesh said, "I'm the owner." Then he walked off and slammed the card reader toward me so I could pay. I had actually planned to make another return while I was there, but after that interaction, I got back in my car and drove a mile away to a different UPS location just to avoid dealing with him again. That's how uncomfortable and unnecessary the entire experience was. After everything that happened, it honestly crossed my mind--would he even send out my return after his behavior? I mean, given how jarring and aggressive his attitude was, I couldn't help but wonder if he might try to sabotage my return out of spite. It's a thought I shouldn't even have to entertain, but the whole interaction felt that unprofessional. The way I was treated was unprofessional, disrespectful, and had a really condescending tone to it. I understand this is just a shipping outlet, and maybe nothing will come of this review, but people deserve to be treated with basic respect. If you visit this location, I strongly recommend trying to avoid working with Ramesh if possible. When I sat in my car and processed everything that happened, I became even more upset. I actually got out and started walking back to the store to say something to him--but then I thought, why even waste my time? Someone like that will never admit they're wrong, so instead, I decided to write this review. I just hope others will avoid dealing with him if they can read more

I did not appreciate the service I received by phone from Mr. Kowtha today. I wanted to know how he might certify his own signature on a document that is older than 90 days so that I would not have to bring my aging parent to his workplace for a new set of signatures. "What do you mean by certification!?" he shouts. "We notarize with the person present!" Indeed. But had he listened more attentively to this customer, he might have realized that the parent's signature is not necessary, because the customer, yours truly, holds sole PofA. Thank you to ANOTHER notary, who explained how a letter of attestation could be attached to the true copy of the PofA and then "certified." I will be availing myself of her services now and in the future. read more

My son passed away from complications from brain cancer just over a year ago. He was born with multiple disabilities so we learned not to sweat the small stuff in life. In fact we often laughed at it, referring to certain situations as "comically bad." The loss of my son shattered my life. I put everything I owned into storage, and have been housesitting and couch surfing with my son's service dog. I set up an account with Postal Annex on Balfour Road in Brentwood to handle my mail. Their service has been comically bad. A couple of months ago they gave someone else's package to me, which I accepted without looking at it closely, and took that person's package with me 2.5 hours away to Geyserville, which I then had to get back to Postal Annex in Brentwood. Another time they gave me someone else's letter, which I caught before I left the shop. Before that I received a message from Postal Annex telling me that my mail had been shredded as requested. I had not requested any of my mail to be shredded. My son would have laughed particularly hard at that one. I ordered a replacement drivers license From the DMV that I never received. When I followed up the DMV said it had been sent to me at 3130 Balfour Road two months earlier. I'm guessing that's my mail they shredded-? When I went to pick up a package for my daughter after receiving notification of its arrival at Postal Annex, only to be told there was no package, It made me angry rather than amused. I knew it was a Christmas gift for my daughter and naturally I believe Postal Annex gave her gift to someone else. I was clearly fed up with their incompetence, I rattled off the list of terrible service I'd received to the person behind the counter, I believe she is the owner. I did not say anything unwarranted or disrespectful, nor use any disrespectful language, I didn't even use the word incompetent. And I walked out. The next day I got an email from Postal Annex's managing company stating that Postal Annex on Balfour road has cancelled me from using their service and banned me from going into their shop. Instantly I could hear my son howling with laughter and it made me laugh. I could hear him saying "Postal Annex on Balfour Rd is Comically bad." Lol read more

Never go to these guys. i shipped an international package more than an year ago with these guys which was never delivered. I followed up multiple times and filed a claim with the carrier but never got neither my package back nor the compensation. However, the owner of this store at Dublin, CA calls me talking so rudely saying why did you file a claim blah blah.. When i was trying to explain the situation, he was not even interested to listen what happened. Basically, they cheated by not only taking the money for shipping but also not delivering the package as promised. I recommend not to go to this center at all. read more

I rented a uhaul truck for my move. The owner was very friendly and gave me a holiday gift of not having to put gas in truck before returning it. We had a mailbox at Postal Annex for over 6 years. We only stopped using their services because we moved out of the area. Overall we were very happy with their services. We haven't been a customer for almost 2 years but Ramesh called me over the weekend because one of our clients mistakenly sent a letter to our old PO Box. He held the letter for me so that I could pick it up. Most services would have sent the letter back, return to sender. Ramesh went out of his way to help and I greatly appreciated it. read more

Great service today at Postal Annex store 164 in Concord, Ca. I have never been there, but they do ink fingerprints that I needed for an out of state license. They were quick, helpful, and even had a pair of reading glasses that I borrowed to fill out the forms. Did not try to "up-sell" me on overnight mail/delivery. They could not have been more helpful. I came here for a Live Scan. The cutest Indian couple runs this place which made me love this place even more. I called them first to see how long the wait would be for a Live Scan and he said I can come right now and that it wouldn't take too long. I drove down and they assisted me right away. I think I was in and out in less then fifteen minutes. I got a copy of my paperwork and receipt copy for my reimbursement and was on my way. They have many many other services which makes it super convenient because not all of us want to go and spend unnecessary time at larger post offices. I would much rather support a local postal shop. Overall, friendly service, local to Concord/WC and reasonable prices. read more

I never thought I'd be raving about a Live Scan experience but I've actually had a shockingly bad one in the past (one technician had to roll each of my fingers multiple times before getting a decent reading, all the while bending my finger uncomfortably). Brittney did my Live Scan for my RN app and she was SO friendly and pleasant. The scan is expensive, but it's expensive everywhere and their rolling fee is better than other places. Also great location because you can go to Trader Joes afterwards. read more

Parts of my global employer's US-based business is subject to a Federal Security program known as TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential). It's one of those "if you don't do this, the terrorists win" sort of things and is treated very seriously in the industry. Hence, our site has found it "convenient" to "get with the program", even though our participation is optional. However, our good intentions don't mean that the Federal Contractors running this program are making it easy on us. ANNEX FAN....X I was heading off to meet a client for a mobile notary and I realized I should bring some blank Acknowledgements along for signing. It's a basic form that can be downloaded at home but we have no printer set up so I needed a clean copy. Luckily the Annex was still open. It was about 6pm so I had another half hour. We walked over to the store and upon entering the two employees came out from the back to greet us. They were both friendly and we chatted about notary signings. The gentleman is a notary also so I asked him a general question about witnessing notarized documents. He was very helpful. The copying charge was less than a dollar (and less than what we charge per page in my regular office). I'll be back again I'm sure! read more

I am usually just shipping or sending out a piece of mail, but they have so many other things that they offer at very reasonable rates. I took a class to get my notary public the other day and I needed to get a passport picture taken so I went to the Postal Annex. Within minutes I had the two pictures in my hand and for ten dollars it was a great deal. The gentlemen working behind the counter told me that they also do live scan fingerprinting and their prices were the cheapest around.
