All of my envelopes got to their addresses safely, and I believe it was in part due to Freddie's care!

We often hear about customers being rude to service workers, but what about when the customer…read moreservice workers are deliberately rude, dismissive and passive aggressive towards customers? I always try to be friendly and respectful to all workers. I have worked in customer service for years and owned a business and believe in treating others as you would like to be treated. I come in to the Alamo Post Office and I am in a very good mood and end up leaving feeling horrible due to what I believe as deliberate passive aggressive behavior towards me from Ali. I understand it can be very frustrating to work in this industry, but to take your anger out on customers is not right. I could tell he was frustrated because the tape in his register to print my label broke off in the machine and he was frustrated. I could feel he was angry and took his frustration out on me and was deliberately trying to provoke me by telling me to move aside, because he didn't want to deal with my package shipping to Canada because it takes longer to process, then he tells me to fill out a form which took less than 30 seconds so he could push me aside to wait on the next customer. I felt ignored and dismissed. He takes at least 10 minutes with this customer and is nice as pie to her and others who walk in and deliberately ignores me, snaps at me for not signing the form and prolongs my wait again. I feel it was done intentionally by his actions. After he is done with this customer he delays me again and says he has to go lock the front doors because it was 5pm closing time, and he didn't lock the doors actually because a customer walks in afterwards to ask about getting a passport. Again, he stops finishing my transaction and continues to chat with the postal worker next to him as if I am not in front of him. He was deliberately ignoring me to provoke a reaction out of me to justify his dismissive behavior. It was so obvious by his behavior. I told him I was frustrated because I was returning a damaged product and for me to have to spend over 30 minutes in the post office, to make a return and pushed aside disrespectfully when I was kind to him is wrong. Then, he tells me it is $43 to ship my very small box to Canada and the cheapest rate, he thinks, but says I can come back tomorrow because his computer is only showing $43 as the cheapest and he cannot or will not try and figure it out because obviously I am not worth his time, and after he has made me wait almost 30 minutes!! I could maybe understand his disrespectful behavior towards me if I was a rude customer, and I was NOT. The last 3 times I have gone into this post office it has been extremely long wait times, their computers aren't working online or the tape breaks in the register...and unreasonable wait times. They use very antiquated systems as well. I will NEVER go here again. UPS across the street is much more efficient.

Went here April 14 to certify my tax forms. Small sign says out of certified mail slips. Then a a…read morevery slow employee told people in line in a soft voice that they haven't had certified mail slips for a week and that they're the only post office that don't have one. No certified mail slips for a week leading up to probably one of the busiest days for the post office!? Went to another post office and I'm keeping the location secret because there was no line, fast employees, and plenty of certified mail slips!

My mailbox has a lock and key, but suddenly the key would not turn. I was getting notified that…read moremail was getting delivered so I know the post office could open the master lock and deliver mail. I had a suspicion something was blocking the key from turning as we have never changed the locks. After calling many times with no answer, and filing two reports online and in person, I went to this post office location. The manager of this location in Walnut Creek had someone managing my route extract all of my mail for me and hand deliver it to me at an agreed upon meeting time. She was such a nice person she had completed her route in my area and drove back to help me, which I needed as it's tax time and my mailbox had been blocked for 2 weeks. It turned out to be a massive Restoration Hardware marketing magazine I never ordered or wanted that was taking up so much space it blocked my key from turning the lock to open it all the way. A big thanks to the manager and route driver for finally getting this solved for me! I'm not surprised the phone tree and main online report didn't work. USPS seems short staffed. But the people in our local community came through. Thanks a bunch. :)

DO NOT GO HERE. GO LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!…read more When we started here we were really happy with this location and the service. But after new management the service has become almost repulsive. Julie has to be the most incompetent, rude and racist manager they could've possibly hired. My first interaction with her was so poor. She spoke with so much hate, the racism was LOUD. I let it go because I felt embarrassed with everyone watching the interaction. Then yesterday I walk in to pay our box and pick up my diabetic supplies only for her to tell me they closed our mailbox and sent ALL our mail back to the center. Mind you - NO notice nothing. I show up and find out we no longer have a mailbox there. I told her I was picking up medical supplies and I need them as a diabetic my life is on the line without them, she was incredibly rude and dismissive in her response. No empathy, no "I'm so sorry for the inconvenience this has caused". Just "ok well it's not my problem" basically. Then the owner called my husband and explained that our mail was actually still there and wasnt sent back. So she looked me dead in the eyes as I told her I could die without my supplies and still lied and said it wasn't there and smiled. No empathy, no humanity. She saw a brown girl and that just didn't seem to sit right with her. She almost looked joyous that I could possibly die without my supplies when I told her. The amount of hate and racism in her heart came before her duties as a manger. All because of the color of my skin. There was a white woman in line before me and she was so kind to her I actually thought last time she may have just had a bad day or something but no, she's just another racist woman in Walnut Creek. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! This is beyond racism, it's just plain disgusting and she had absolutely no empathy on a human level for someone who's out of diabetic supplies and her life is on the line. We went in to the store after the owner called us and he gave us our packages and said he'd talk to her and write her up. So if you still send your mail here, be sure not to send ANY sensitive packages because the owner clearly has no intention of taking any real action to prevent her from harming anyone else in his store.
