Don't know why it's a Tuesday and they're already out of the smaller bubble envelopes

Ridiculous place. I've used this only because I had to, but the service gets worse with each visit. What is going on? I used to love going to post office to buy stamps and cards and boxes. Now I dread going here all the time Today, I came by because I have an RMA (return material authorization) from manufacture with paid shipping. The line was pretty much non-existent and there were 2 workers at the desk. However, when I stated that I felt like my envelope might not have taped well, the worker said "we don't s provide tape dear." I had no idea what it meant so I stepped out of line. The person after me had a first priority with tapes and the worker proceeded to tape it further with her roll of tape gun from a few counter from her. I was so confused. The lady after me said she had some tape to share if I would be willing to wait until she send her package. I found out she bought the tapes in the corner of the store... which would have been nice if the worker pointed me to where the rolls were. I ended up leaving to send another day because it was too much time consuming for now.

Pleasant customer service guiding on the process and amazing service in the passport desk. Walked in for the passport desk without scheduled appointment. Staff advised us that it has to be scheduled well in advance however we can do the walk-in depending on the staff availability. So we did and succeeded in less than 30 minutes. Thank you Pat for great experience and dealing with our daughter getting her first passport picture taken.

This is definitely one of the better area post offices. I try not to come early in the morning or during the lunch hour because they are always busy. When I worked in the area, I would always walk as well since the parking lot can get crowded. I appreciate that I can drop off large packages and letters in the lobby - even on the weekends. Just beware of the outside drop box. It's usually backed up because someone drops a lot of letters and the letters get stuck. People need to stop this since the next person can easily grab the mail out of the box. The staff is great and I don't know how they stay focused. They also have a good supply of different stamps, though I usually purchase those online. Love coming here and will continue to do so.

Had an appointment for Passport, and Pat made it a great experience. He was quick, thorough and easy to follow. Highly recommended.

I have been to this branch twice and both times had short lines with good service from the postal workers. I'll be back.

Ever since its most exceptional employee, John, retired, customer service has lapsed to an unacceptable degree. Never mind the broken and disabled customer service counter partition, left neglectfully in its downward and closed position, has gone unrepaired for literally MONTHS now. Yellow pickup notices are being negligently not put into boxes even when parcels have been known to be already delivered. More outrageous still: We recently received a most obnoxious email from the USPS, falsely accusing us of leaving our box with a supposed overflow of mail, threatening to close the box outright in 30 days were not one of four supposed options for correction not chosen. Two of those options, naturally, included either purchase of a larger, exorbitantly priced box, or some inexplicable Caller Service for mail pickup which was never even linked or described. We promptly visited the branch to determine the truth: Some clerk, or clerks, had mistakenly MIXED UP our scant stack of mail with that of another customer, whose box number was in close proximity and just six digits removed from our own box number; hence the obvious confusion. Worse, however, that other customer's mail was a real overflow and literally reams of neglected mail belonging to them had been collected separately and placed in a big plastic bin for pickup. Our scant mail was mistakenly MIXED IN with that customer's neglected mail overflow, resulting in the false accusation and unjustified threat of box closure. The comedy of errors continued with a box lockout and an outright refusal to give the patron his mail, for absolutely no valid reason, as the box account is currently active and paid! Their pretext: neglecting to put the patron's updated box application in their system for a box maintained since 2006! This kind of clear staff incompetence is unacceptable and should be promptly addressed and corrected for the benefit of all customers concerned.

We often hear about customers being rude to service workers, but what about when the customer…read moreservice workers are deliberately rude, dismissive and passive aggressive towards customers? I always try to be friendly and respectful to all workers. I have worked in customer service for years and owned a business and believe in treating others as you would like to be treated. I come in to the Alamo Post Office and I am in a very good mood and end up leaving feeling horrible due to what I believe as deliberate passive aggressive behavior towards me from Ali. I understand it can be very frustrating to work in this industry, but to take your anger out on customers is not right. I could tell he was frustrated because the tape in his register to print my label broke off in the machine and he was frustrated. I could feel he was angry and took his frustration out on me and was deliberately trying to provoke me by telling me to move aside, because he didn't want to deal with my package shipping to Canada because it takes longer to process, then he tells me to fill out a form which took less than 30 seconds so he could push me aside to wait on the next customer. I felt ignored and dismissed. He takes at least 10 minutes with this customer and is nice as pie to her and others who walk in and deliberately ignores me, snaps at me for not signing the form and prolongs my wait again. I feel it was done intentionally by his actions. After he is done with this customer he delays me again and says he has to go lock the front doors because it was 5pm closing time, and he didn't lock the doors actually because a customer walks in afterwards to ask about getting a passport. Again, he stops finishing my transaction and continues to chat with the postal worker next to him as if I am not in front of him. He was deliberately ignoring me to provoke a reaction out of me to justify his dismissive behavior. It was so obvious by his behavior. I told him I was frustrated because I was returning a damaged product and for me to have to spend over 30 minutes in the post office, to make a return and pushed aside disrespectfully when I was kind to him is wrong. Then, he tells me it is $43 to ship my very small box to Canada and the cheapest rate, he thinks, but says I can come back tomorrow because his computer is only showing $43 as the cheapest and he cannot or will not try and figure it out because obviously I am not worth his time, and after he has made me wait almost 30 minutes!! I could maybe understand his disrespectful behavior towards me if I was a rude customer, and I was NOT. The last 3 times I have gone into this post office it has been extremely long wait times, their computers aren't working online or the tape breaks in the register...and unreasonable wait times. They use very antiquated systems as well. I will NEVER go here again. UPS across the street is much more efficient.

DO NOT GO HERE. GO LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!…read more When we started here we were really happy with this location and the service. But after new management the service has become almost repulsive. Julie has to be the most incompetent, rude and racist manager they could've possibly hired. My first interaction with her was so poor. She spoke with so much hate, the racism was LOUD. I let it go because I felt embarrassed with everyone watching the interaction. Then yesterday I walk in to pay our box and pick up my diabetic supplies only for her to tell me they closed our mailbox and sent ALL our mail back to the center. Mind you - NO notice nothing. I show up and find out we no longer have a mailbox there. I told her I was picking up medical supplies and I need them as a diabetic my life is on the line without them, she was incredibly rude and dismissive in her response. No empathy, no "I'm so sorry for the inconvenience this has caused". Just "ok well it's not my problem" basically. Then the owner called my husband and explained that our mail was actually still there and wasnt sent back. So she looked me dead in the eyes as I told her I could die without my supplies and still lied and said it wasn't there and smiled. No empathy, no humanity. She saw a brown girl and that just didn't seem to sit right with her. She almost looked joyous that I could possibly die without my supplies when I told her. The amount of hate and racism in her heart came before her duties as a manger. All because of the color of my skin. There was a white woman in line before me and she was so kind to her I actually thought last time she may have just had a bad day or something but no, she's just another racist woman in Walnut Creek. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! This is beyond racism, it's just plain disgusting and she had absolutely no empathy on a human level for someone who's out of diabetic supplies and her life is on the line. We went in to the store after the owner called us and he gave us our packages and said he'd talk to her and write her up. So if you still send your mail here, be sure not to send ANY sensitive packages because the owner clearly has no intention of taking any real action to prevent her from harming anyone else in his store.
