I was quickly taken care of not knowing what the best course of action was to mail a many-pages-long application. I'm fairly trusting that I was recommmended the most effective, yet cost effective solution. I guess we'll see if my application gets delivered on Saturday like the delivery confirmation slip I paid for says. They either lost (or stole) another one of my packages. Now I will have to refund another buyer who will also be disappointed that they never get their item. They are very lazy here and refuse to properly scan packages with prepaid labels - unless you stand in line and demand a receipt, whereby they must run their little wand over it to show an acceptance scan, showing receipt by USPS, date, and time. If you hand it to them and just leave, or if you place it on the counter, chances are it will disappear. I went in there a few days ago at a few minutes to 5pm, there was another patron being helped at the counter, and as I am a considerate person and did not want to delay the young man at the counter, I didn't ask him for a receipt, trusted him, and simply handed it to him. My package was then thrown out, stolen, or drifted into the Twilight Zone. None of the clerks there are a bit helpful. They shrug their shoulders and refuse to accept any accountability. Never going into this post office again. (I know I said as much in JANUARY, but this truly was the final straw). ADVICE: to anyone who uses prepaid labels, you MUST get a receipt at the counter no matter the time, no matter how long the line is, no USPS clerks can be trusted at any of the post offices, and none accept accountability for missing packages. ANOTHER THING: don't accuse me of agesism, but I can't understand why there is a woman who works here who has to be at least in her 80s, is clearly in pain and can hardly move with a bad back, still working here, full time. When will she enjoy her pension? Don't they get a good enough pension upon retirement? I can't imagie she "needs" to keep working here, since they get a good pension when they retire. Due to her age and delicate health she moves very slowly and it slows down the line. Being kind is one thing, but please know when it is time to retire! read more

This post office location seems to typically only staffed by 1 person at the counter, so wait times could be a little longer. However thankfully, I've never encountered long lines the handful of times I've had to come since moving here to Moraga. The staff all seem to be on the older end, so do not expect them to hustle through transactions too quickly. There is no self-service kiosk here, and only 1 mailbox located outside. This location does however appear to have an abundance of PO boxes. read more

A real small town, caring post office! They even called to tell me about some packages that had just been delivered at my po box right after I'd been there. I have never had a problem here with my po box, sending packages, etc. There is a cost for my po box but after a few thefts at my house, this is worth it! The employee named Mark is beyond rude. I went here to ship out a package and happily bought a box. the box i bought only came with two small pieces of packing tape. clearly not enough for the box itself. i asked him if he could spare a piece of tape for me and he aggressively stated i need to buy it. he then shoved the tape dispenser by his desk maybe an inch from my face shouting "this is all i have". it's strange because at the lafayette post office they have no problem doing this for me, they do it all the time. same with oakland and concord. i ship out multiple orders at a time and it's never been an issue. i told him about my positive experience at lafayette and why it was different here. he then aggressively stated "you should go to lafayette then not here". absolutely ridiculous. i will take his advice and go to different locations moving forward just to avoid his completely inappropriate behavior. read more

I have lived in Moraga for 60+years and I have never had an unpleasant experience at the post office. The employees go out of their way to help and be accommodating. I am very appreciative of their dedication to serve the public! They all deserve a raise in pay! read more

Every time I've come here, I get service with a smile. I have used it for a PO Box for over a year & there has never been a problem. I feel like I get good value for the money. I'm not sure what makes everyone so picky. But this is the best post office I've been to. The staff are friendly and informative. They all have worked there for a long time and each have their personalities which I love. My faves are Mark and Shelly. I do not love their new manager who is on his cell phone a lot and I hate it when he helps me because he's not very focused and doesn't know the things as well as the long timers. He also makes a big fuss when I ask for pretty stamps. Like I want the interesting ones, stop trying to make me get the flag ones, like seriously stop saying it over and over once I've already said I'm not interested. read more

They often have a better recommendation on shipping method and packaging finesse than I could ever manage. To be honest I hate this post office. some of the workers there who just put my shipping Type without me telling them. I just wanted the regular shipping. The Lady didn't even ask me what type of shipping I wanted and she assumed I wanted to be fast shipping so she can charge me extra money. I, every time I go there they charge me priority shipping without me knowing, or I haven't even heard a question "sir or mam', what shipping would you like for this item?" This is a Rip off! But there was this guy who was just standing around and says "can I answer any questions?" Yeah, I have a question, why can't you just open another window! MUST READ: My wife and I sent a package to China that was worth about $500-$600 (New iphone). It was sent on April 13th and it never arrived to its destination. I called many times and they have told us that, sometimes it could take a while due to high volume of packages. When June came around, and checking constantly the tracking number almost everyday, we started worrying more and called a few times more, and we were given the same answer. This time, I was able to speak to the Post Master (aka manager), and she said that customs can sometimes hold packages for a while before it gets shipped. About 2-3 weeks later, we called the post master again, she said this was am unusual amount of time and that she was going to email the plant to find more info. About 2-3 more weeks later, she FINALLY calls me back telling me she did not get a response from them. I call her back, asking if she could message or ask them again about our package. By now, it has been some time and my wife and I are fearing the worst and this that this package was either taken/stolen by the postal service (whether it is here or China' side). She said she would send a message again, to help us ask where our package was. Another 3 weeks go by, and I never got a call back. I decided to call the post master again. She says she still haven't gotten an answer back from the plant, but she was going to ask them AGAIN. She said she would call me this time and I remember she said it would be a Thursday. Again, never heard back from her. Just yesterday, my wife and I go to the post office physically to talk to the post master. After asking her many times to about this package, she could not give an answer. We asked her if she really contacted the plant or were just pulling our chain and she either ignored us or probably never did it. After talking to her for about 20-30 mins, a Moraga police officer shows up. My wife tells her our side of the story and the officer even asks the post master what happened and she could not give a straight answer and just said she had no idea where our package went. In the end, there was nothing else the officer could do, so we wasted our time AND our package was lost. If this was a package that was only 10-20 dollars we would probably not go through all this trouble, but again, this is not the case. This was a gift for a relative, which was why we were willing to spend so much money on it. This is just unbelievable b/c we were worried something like this could happen, and well, it did! I am also surprised on how unprofessional and how poorly this post office handled this matter. I warn anybody who plan to send anything over-seas from this post office. We have sent many packages to China for family in the past from Orinda and have never experienced this! We still have our receipt and documents and are currently seeking legal advice to see if we have a case. read more

I like this post office a lot because it's big, bright, and efficient. Even though it's huge, and located in a very busy shopping center (Rheem valley shopping center), the line always moves fast and there are always several people working. read more

Staff is very friendly and that's about all you really want when you visit any post office because LET US FACE THE STARK REALITY - you'll pretty much find the same issues in every post office (up-selling products, etc.) with the possible exception of small town post offices. I'm not sure how to rate a post office so I put it at three stars. The people in there don't really talk a lot but I've had the same problems where they would assume you want the priority shipping without asking. Since I'm a broke college kid I always ask why is it so much then they lower the price lol. Besides that I've never had a problem delivering any of my packages or letters and they are helpful if you ask for it. The best part is the office is walking distance from my apartment! read more

Made an appointment for 9am for passport; the guy that does passports arrived 45 minutes late with no apology

They can get busy, a few of the clerks will try to upsell you for services that you may not want, but Shelly, one of the clerks, will bend over backwards to help you, and the male manager, is also really helpful. Most of the window clerks try to do a good job. Yes, the female manager is haughty and defensive. Compared to other post offices, this one is better, and a nice one to have in the neighborhood. read more
