Always the same at this location. No greeting, no smile, no thank you, no eye contact. And as a bonus today I got to hear the 3 guys who are lucky enough to have jobs carry on a conversation about getting neck tattoos and wondering what it would cost. Very inappropriate back and forth between them and absolutely no regard for the people in the store, it was really astonishing. This time I am finally done with this store, I have yet to encounter an employee here in a very long while that has any regard for the customers without whom there would be no job. Whoever runs this store, do better. It might actually help these kids to receive proper customer service training. read more

This was the absolute worst UPS Store I've ever been to. Someone needs to teach them customer service. They had the audacity to charge me $2 fora piece of tape (15" long). On top of that the young man didn't even say thank you. If you need to send something out drive 6 blocks down to the FedEx store, they're much more deserving of your business. read more

I've been coming to this UPS Store for years. It used to feel like a small-town business -- warm, friendly, helpful staff who actually cared. Sadly, that spirit is gone. This past Sunday( 11/1) around noon, I came in with several Amazon return boxes. The door was closed (presumably for the AC), so I had to juggle heavy boxes while trying to pull open a stiff door. One of the employees stood inside watching me struggle -- not busy( there were no customers in the store at all) not helping, not even moving -- just watching. When I finally got in and fought with their broken doorstop, he continued to observe in silence until I asked if it was broken. His answer: "Yes." That's it. No offer to help with the door. No basic courtesy to let me know that the door stop is broken. Just pure indifference. This used to be the kind of place that made you feel good supporting local business. Now it feels like the opposite -- cold, detached, and dismissive. A smile and a little initiative cost nothing, but apparently that's too much to ask these days. read more

When this store changed ownership a couple of years ago, the staff was great. Since then service has deteriorated. The staff tries not to make eye contact hoping you go to their coworker. My last visit was almost comical. They all seem to hate working there. read more

Excellent service at this UPS! I didn't expect much at a UPS store but was pleasantly surprised by their efficient, professional and efficient service. I made an appointments for an I-9 verification and a background check at this UPS store. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by their staff (lady, very nice). There was a short wait as I was waiting for the previous guest to finish. Within a few minutes, the guy (sorry, forgot his name but he was the store manager/ lead), greeted me promptly and proceeded to assist me. He was meticulous and thorough, and explained the process to me. He then assisted me in completing the process. I was in and out within 15-20 minutes. Both staff were professional, friendly and very nice. The store was well organized and very clean as well. Very good service at this UPS. Great Job and Thanks !! read more

Had to get some fingerprinting / pictures taken and the workers were messing around the whole time / weren't much help. My work picture came out terrible due to this. They charged me a fee because I used my own case to ship an item. Never had that before, I was told it was specific to this location. I'll be shipping from a different store moving forward. I paid for the shipment online and dropped off the case with the tag on it. read more

I don't usually write negative reviews, but this one feels necessary. I've been coming to this UPS Store for years. It gets the job done, but just barely. The man who works here is friendly, but he's rarely on time. I've shown up at 8:00 AM (their posted opening time) only to wait until 8:15--often with multiple customers showing up and leaving in frustration. The woman who works here is consistently there early, but she's consistently rude. On two recent visits, she barked "We open at 8!"--once while the door was already open and again while we stood there watching her angrily slam her mouse trying to get her computer to work. When I asked why the door isn't just unlocked at 8 when the store opens, she said she comes in early and unlocks it when she feels like it. Not great for customer service. Bottom line: the place functions, but expect poor attitude and unreliable opening times. read more

I noticed that this store is under new ownership. I stopped in today to mail a box via UPS and to drop off some Amazon returns. Upon walking in I noticed the store seemed brighter, cleaner and less cluttered. The woman working the counter greeted me cheerfully and was very pleasant as she helped me. The manager came out as well and he was also very friendly. I ended up chatting with them both and another employee - all who were very friendly. They made stopping in a very pleasant experience. I wish the new owners plenty of success. read more

Ever since the change in management, this store has been a nightmare! Not only are the employees rude, but they mess up amazon returns unlike anything I have ever experienced. They act annoyed when I bring in multiple packages. It is literally their job to take in packages to be sent by UPS. Anytime I bring in multiple items, rather than putting the labels on each package, they toss them on a back counter and then toss the labels on them. I have seen these labels slide off and now, I have had multiple charge backs from amazon, saying they didn't receive the expected items and received unexpected items. Thats because the labels are not being put on the correct packages, and this has happened at least 10 times in the past year. I had to report this store to amazon so they could have on record that this is a continuous problem. I decided to try the Lafayette UPS store a couple of times and what a huge difference! The employees are very nice and they put the label on each package right then and there, never tossing them aside with tossed labels. No charge backs for anything I've returned at that store. So save yourself the frustration and use the Lafayette UPS store. read more

I rarely write negative reviews, especially for new local businesses, but UPS Orinda is NOT what it used to be. Raj, who identified himself as one of the new owners, tried to charge me $2 for a piece of tape (or suggested I buy an entire roll of pricey packing tape). Owner was snarky and when I explained that I'd frequented this UPS for more than 20 years, multiple times per month never been charged for tape before on the rare occasion I neglected to seal my package, he was nonplused. I left the empty store saying I'd take my untapped box elsewhere he responded "have fun paying $6 a gallon to go elsewhere"!!! On my way out, I noticed that the kiosk in the midd of the store that used to house pens, a stapler and scissors along with other office supplies was gone. Guess they will be charging $2 for a paper clip too!! read more

Fast and reliable!! I was in a bind and needed a package shipped ASAP. The staff really went that extra mile to not only make the process go as fast as possible, but were genuinely a breath of fresh air to talk to. Do not use this store. They lost my package and are not helpful at all in helping me find it or resolving the issue. According to UPS' computer, the package never left the store. I paid 70$ to send a time sensitive item four days ago, and it has apparently vanished into thin air. This store lost it, not UPS. UPS never received it. The guy working there seems annoyed that I am concerned about its whereabouts. He doesn't know his job and there is no one there supervising him. If you have to use UPS, go to a different store. Or use the USPS. It's half the price and not any more unreliable. read more

The gentleman who is there is always kind and courteous but the girls there are flat out rude like they have something to prove. Miss the older ladies who use to be there. The owner/ daughter boss is extremely rude to the staff and customers. Her name is supriyaa. I always patron the ups and the other staff a guy and a new younger lady is very friendly. Today I came by to have something notarize. I understand about the wait and is ok with it, supriyaa is like "it's all fine by you if you want to wait, I have a customer not finishing". Apparently she is the only one doing notarizing. Then she turn over to blast on the staff about her lunch time and she need to go eat, that if everyone finishes then can go eat. When it's my turn. She slam her file on the desk and was incredibly unprofessional and rude. There is a field that obviously don't need me to fill up and she argued with me only to carefully double check on the form to realized her mistake. Just walked out of the UPS store in Orinda and the two girls were so rude. They saw me carrying a large box in, never offered to help, and started laughing at me, because I was having such a difficult time, keeping the door opened and bringing the box in. I had to write a review today even though I've used this store many times with good experience every time. Today was a crazy day for me and I had to lug in a heavy box and baby in car seat twice because I realized I left my label at home. The 2nd trip was to no avail because it was a fed ex package. Long story short the woman who took my package was so sweet and friendly to begin with and offered and did help me carry and load my package. She was also very helpful in telling me exactly where the fed ex store is. That's no small thing for this directionally challenge girl I'm always greeted with courtesy and acknowledged quickly. Also, as I walked in, two of the employees were having a heated discussion/argument over racism! I always frequent this store for my Amazon returns and the staff here are always outstanding when i walk in. Today, I shipped a package to New York and Navita made sure it was packaged well, so no damages would happen in transit. I needed to drop off a broken AT&T router and apparently you can do this at a UPS store. Earlier I was at the vet in Orinda (just one parking lot away) so I was able to quickly stop by with the dog in the car, drop off the router, tell them the account owner and done! They don't need packing material just the hardware. It was a quick in and out so I give them 5 stars! read more

I must use this store 4 or 5 times a week and it doesn't matter whether I need stuff printed, wires sent, a notary or shipping, they are efficient and friendly and get me in and out in the fastest possible time. I don't know what I would do without the help of Navita and the gentleman, too. I can't recommend it highly enough. sharon read more
